Carol McGiffin takes new swipe at Loose Women a year after quitting ITV show amid feud with bosses

CAROL McGiffin has sent some new barbed jabs at Loose Women, almost a year after quitting the show.

The 64-year-old broadcaster quit the show for good in mid-2023, in what was later claimed to be an argument over the contract.

However, Carol has made it clear there’s no love lost between her and the show, unable to resist swipes at the long-running panel series.

The latest jab was seen on her new Instagram post, with Carol smiling and looking happy in front of a microphone with headphones on, as she spoke about her new podcast.

“Apparently, some people are missing me,” she wrote in the caption. “Not because I haven’t been on here for ages but because I’m not on that daytime ITV show I used to do, Loose Women.”

Continuing the underhand swipes, Carol continued: “Sadly that little job isn’t coming back but I’m not totally retired yet! I’m still doing this podcast which is called ‘What’s Your Problem With Nick Abbot and Carol McGiffin?’ and it’s available on most podcast outlets.”

Encouraging people to tune in or contribute to the podcast, she concluded: “We’ve been doing it for over four years and quite a lot of people like it!

“It’s also the most helpful podcast in the world* and 100% doom free so click on the link in my bio if you fancy a listen and if you have any problems you want us to ‘deal with’ then email [email protected].

“Go on, give it a go! You might enjoy it and you might even laugh 🤭 @abbotscamera @global *probably…… #podcast #escapism p.s. I wasn’t actually doing it in the picture I just posed it but forgot to brush my hair.”

Carol was last seen on Loose Women in May last year, and later slammed the series for “shoving woke news down viewers’ throats”

Her divisive views over the handling of coronavirus was initially rumoured to be the reason behind her sharp and hasty exit.

However, she later told Best Magazine it was down to a classic contract dispute, saying in her weekly column the “stress” of the upcoming negotiations had become too much.

“I haven’t been on the show for two months now because I’ve had to step away from it,” she said. “”It was causing me too much stress, which was mostly down to a difficult contract issue I’d been challenging since January.

“The problem was, ITV were insisting, for the first time since I went back in 2018, that if I wanted to carry on doing the show, I would have to sign a contract that was totally unjust and unworkable for me, so I had to say no thanks.

“And I know it looks like I’ve thrown my toys out of the pram, but the whole saga was affecting my health.”
