Alex Jones issues ’emotional’ farewell as she pulls out of The One Show

BBC The One Show’s Alex Jones was replaced last night while she embarked on an exciting new chapter.

Alex Jones has hosted The One Show since 2010 and usually co-hosts with former footballer Jermaine Jenas and radio DJ Roman Kemp.

However, all three main hosts were absent on Tuesday, leaving Lauren Laverne and Vernon Kay to take over.

The latest episode showcased a star-studded lineup including Daisy Edgar Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos, who are currently starring in the new blockbuster Twisters.

They were joined by Alan Carr, who discussed the revival of the eighties sitcom Changing Ends. Alex is currently busy moving house for the first time in 11 years with her husband and children.

She has been keeping her 363,000 Instagram followers updated about her packing efforts as she prepares to move her family from their home of the last 11 years.

Earlier in the week, Alex shared the “news” and disclosed that she was moving in three weeks while sorting through her children’s memory boxes and asking her fans for packing tips.

She told her followers: “This was emotional. After 11 years, we are moving house,” accompanied by a crying face emoji.

Back in April Alex took a break from The One Show, as she made an announcement.

She wrote: “The face of a woman who is off on holiday…….”

The mum-of-three added: “Thank you for watching this week and especially for all the lovely comments about last night’s One Big Thank you.
