Danny Dyer’s three-word explanation on why Jarrod Bowen is right man for Dani

EXCLUSIVE” Actor Danny has nothing but praise and love for Jarrod Bowen who is set to become his new son-in-law this weekend, when he marries reality star Dani Dyer

Some men might be worried about meeting their father-in-law and rubbing shoulders with him on the wedding day. But footballer Jarrod Bowen can be pretty sure lifelong West Hame fan Danny Dyer will have his back in his speech on Saturday.

West Ham star Jarrod, 28, will marry TV star Dani in a fairytale day for the couple. And speaking ahead of the ceremony, film and TV actor Danny couldn’t wait to have the footballer as part of his family.

He praised him and also said his other daughter Sunnie, 18, has an impossible task bringing home another boyfriend who could ever compare. Danny said: “I have met every single boyfriend that has walked through my door – and then she brings home the West Ham captain.

“I have gone from the lying scum, and I hate them, to a man who I would not mind tonguing myself! A strong man. If he lent in I would put my lips on this geezer. He is just, as a father and joking aside, he took her on with a 14 month old son and that says a lot about a man I will tell you.

“He is amazing. I can’t wait to give her away. What a touch. But if he was to make a move on me before… I think I’m in love with him, slightly.”

Jarrod joined West Ham in 2020 and has regularly been the best player on the pitch, including when he scored the winning goal to give West Ham their first trophy in 43 years during the 2023 Europa Conference League final.

Danny added: “Okay. He plays for West Ham. He’s one of West Ham’s hot ones. He’s the captain of West Ham. And he’s unbelievable, this guy. I mean, he comes in my house. I take his shoes off for him.

“And I give him the remote control. And I say, ‘Mate, this is your house now’. But he’s an incredible person. I just want someone to love my daughters the way I do. I want them to worship them and look after them. Let me tell you that. I love him.”

Dani and Jarrod are marrying this weekend after high profile hen and stag parties. Dani headed to Ibiza whilst Jarrod had been to Vegas. Dani’s trip included a boozy brunch, a boat trip and a raucous night in the lavish nightclub Ushuaia.

Danny added: “I feel sorry for my other daughter, who’s nearly 18, because she could never bring home a man to ever match what that man’s done for me.

“She could bring home a heart surgeon or, you know, somebody who cures cancer. And I go, ‘Well, really?’ I mean, he’s got the winning goal in Prague in a European final. I mean, it’s just incredible. I couldn’t have written a better script. He’s just such a beautiful man.”

In the lead up to the wedding this week Dani was seen visiting a salon in Essex on Thursday on route to her pampering session She has also spoken about her big day.

Speaking to Heat magazine, she said: “I have finally done my table plans now. Until you are in there writing names out, making sure you have tables of 10, it’s the most stressful experience ever – that’s the only thing I’ve not enjoyed.” Dani also revealed she will take on a double-barrel surname after the wedding, becoming Dyer-Bowen.

She said: “I am going to keep the Dyer – I am going to do Dani Dyer-Bowen just because of my work. I feel like if I am Dani Bowen, it takes that thing away from me. We are double-barrelling it.”

Yesterday she was also posting photos on social media of skincare products she and her bridesmaids had been gifted. In February Dani spoke about how she first met her fiancé in 2021 – because he was her neighbour and took in her parcels for her.

The couple are now engaged and have twin daughters, Summer and Star, both one. Dani also has son Santi, four, from a previous relationship. “Jarrod was my neighbour”, Dyer told the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast as she recalled the unusual story of how they met.

“I’ve never really spoken about this. I moved into the house I was in with Santi and he was only a few months old. It was a really small, cute little neighbourhood. I loved that house. People were like ‘oh, Jarrod Bowen lives next door’ but I didn’t follow football at the time, just wasn’t interested in football.

“Then he knocked on my door a couple of times because my parcels went there. I remember the first time I opened the door… You know what it’s like, slicked-back hair… and I opened the door and I didn’t know it was Jarrod Bowen and he was hot. Blue eyes, blonde hair, a bit of me.

“I was like ‘ohh, thanks!’ Then there was a few times I’d see him I used to know when he was leaving for football because I’d hear his car go and he’d reverse out and I was like, oh I can go put the bins out.

“There was once I knew I looked OK because I had a shoot that day and I remember walking back round and then I put the key in the door and he came out and I thought ‘I know I look good today’. So then he said ‘Have you got a meter reading key?’ Once, a meter reading key for your gas or something.

“But I did not think nothing of it and said ‘no, no I don’t’ and then he was like ‘oh I’m moving house’ and I was like ‘oh good luck with everything’.” Dyer said after he moved out Bowen messaged her on her birthday to say ‘happy birthday’ and following that ‘they never stopped speaking’.

She said she didn’t expect anything serious. She said: “When he first messaged me, I thought he’s very fit, I don’t mind having a little bit of fun with you, but I’m a mum now, you’re a footballer, you can go off and have your Gigi Hadids.

“I’m happy to have a little bit of fun with you if that’s what you want. You’re probably the first guy I’ve had with a six-pack.” But Jarrod stayed with her and much to the delight of Dani – and Danny – they will be married this weekend.

  • Wynne Evans won’t be last star axed by BBC as famous faces to be ‘cannon fodder’

Wynne Evans won’t be last star axed by BBC as famous faces to be ‘cannon fodder’

The BBC has launched a non-nonsense drive to be seen to clean up its act, and there will be consequences for some on-air talent, but a source has told the Mirror that Wynne won’t be the last

    Wynne Evans in GoCompare ad
Wynne Evans says nothing compared to doing his BBC Radio Wales show but he has been axed(Image: GoCompare)

Wynne Evans won’t be the last star axed in the big BBC clean-up, a senior TV source told the Mirror. Earlier today, Go Compare star and radio and TV personality Evans confirmed he will not be returning to his BBC Wales radio show after a series of incidents and warnings over his behaviour.

In a statement on social media, Evans said: “It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won’t be returning to my radio show. I’m gutted. That show wasn’t just work — it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family.”

And the BBC responded with their own statement and a spokesman said: “Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC. He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales and there are currently no plans to work with him”.

Now a PR source with knowledge of recent BBC investigations insisted Wynne Evans would not be the last big name axed by the BBC in their latest crackdown.

The source said: “The BBC and major production companies are cutting talent loose faster than ever. One mistake, old or new, and you’re out.. Some ignore warnings, others are punished for past missteps.

“The BBC’s playing hardball, desperate to be seen cleaning house—regardless of context. Some will be cannon fodder.

“Celebs like Lineker are shifting power to their own channels, using social media as a safety net. When institutions drop you, the crowd becomes your vital platform. Fame isn’t a red carpet anymore—it’s a trapdoor.” The BBC has been at pains to clean up any issues with Strictly or other talent issues in recent months.

Wynne has not had his BBC contract renewed

In July last year, BBC Director General Tim Davie promised of Strictly: “We will never tolerate unacceptable behaviour of any kind.” Wynne hit the headlines for multiple reasons during his time on the BBC dance show. He was shown grabbing his professional partner Katya’s waist before she pushed his hand away, but he later insisted it was a joke.

He then came under fire for using the term ‘spit roast’ to Janette Manrara during a Strictly photocall but he later insisted it was directed at Jamie Borthwick and nothing to do with Janette.

“As a result of the comment, he was axed from the Strictly tour – and then a video emerged of him sending a sex toy to his co-star Jamie, which both were heavily criticised for. He has now seen his BBC career seemingly end, at least in the short term.

In April this year a BBC Workplace Culture review was published and the corporation vowed to take “immediate action” to change things in the wake of the Huw Edwards scandal.

Last weekend Gary Lineker left the BBC, a year earlier than planned. He was axed after a social media row where the 64-year-old shared a post about Zionism, which featured a depiction of a rat, historically an antisemitic insult.

Lineker, the BBC’s highest-paid presenter, issued an unreserved apology as it was confirmed he would leave his presenting role at the BBC early and will no longer front the corporation’s coverage of the 2026 World Cup or the FA Cup next season.

Where Coronation Street fans have seen Noah Hedley before as rival soap role uncovered

It’s set to be a dramatic night in Coronation Street tonight as fans will see the arrival of Noah Hedley – who fans may recognise from a rival soap

    Richard Winsor

There’s more upcoming drama on the cobbles tonight as new character Noah Hedley will be making his way to Coronation Street tonight. Noah, who works at the church, will be seen entering the Rovers during Julie Carp’s wake, as he speaks to his friend Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).

Billy isn’t the only resident he’s familiar with. As well as Noah being familiar with residents, fans may be familiar with the actor, Richard Winsor, as it isn’t his first time in Soapland.

Spoilers previously revealed that things were set to take a turn at Julie Carp’s wake, after a man called Noah enters the Rovers.

However, Theo Silverton also recognises the character, sending shivers down his spine. He then reveals to Todd Grimshaw that he recognises Noah from his conversion therapy, which he was made to attend by his religious parents.

As for fans, they may recognise actor Richard Windsor from his past role in Casualty. Richard played Caleb Knight in the hospital drama from 2014 until 2017, when his character was brutally killed off. In devastating scenes, Caleb was brutally stabbed to death by Scott Ellison while trying to protect his brother Ethan.

It’s not the only big role the actor has starred in. Soap fans may also recognise the star from his role in Hollyoaks in 2011, where he played priest Father Francis. Fans will remember the character for his affair with Carmel McQueen.

Other credits for the actor include Royal Mob, The Machines That Built America, and StreetDance: The Movie.

Noah won’t be the only surprise entrance in the Rovers tonight as Ryan Thomas is set to reprise his role as Jason Grimshaw for Eileen’s exit storyline.

The actor returns to the show after nine years away, and it seems he wastes no time in getting to know a certain female character. It’s now been revealed as newcomer Danielle Silverton, the wife of Theo Silverton.

However, Jason unfortunately won’t be sticking around for long as his final scenes will air next week.

His onscreen mother Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver will bow out of the soap next Friday (June 6) after more than two decades in the role, debuting in 2000. Eileen’s final scenes will see her make a life-changing decision, with Jason heavily involved.

Loretta Swit dead: MASH star dies at home as suspected cause of death revealed

M*A*S*H star Loretta Swit – who played Major Margaret Houlihan on the CBS show – has died, aged 87, it’s been announced this week, with the news prompting tributes to the actor

M*A*S*H icon Loretta Swit has died. She is said to have died at her home in New York City. Her representative, Harlan Boll, has claimed that the New York Police Department stated that the actor died earlier today of suspected natural causes.

Loretta is best known for playing Major Margaret Houlihan on M*A*S*H, which ran for 11 seasons on CBS from 1972 to 1983. She took over the role from the late Sally Kellerman, who starred as the character in the film M*A*S*H (1970).

She’s previously shared that, amid character development and comedy within the show, she called for Margaret to be portrayed in a particular way. Loretta told Studio 10 in 2015: “I kept demanding that she never lose her integrity as a head nurse. […] I can be funny but I can still have integrity.”

Her decades-long career also included roles in shows like Hawaii Five-O, Mission: Impossible and the Love Boat in the 1970s. Loretta continued to act in the years since M*A*S*H, with her latest credit said to be the film Play the Flute (2019).

She also originated the role of police detective Christine Cagney on-screen in the pilot movie for Cagney & Lacey in 1981. She didn’t appear in the subsequent TV series though, reportedly due to contractual obligations to M*A*S*H.

Meg Foster replaced her in the first season in 1982, starring alongside Tyne Daly, who remained in the role of Mary Beth Lacey. Sharon Gless is most associated with the role of Cagney though, after taking over from Meg in the second season and appearing until the final season in 1988.

Loretta, who’s also considered an animal activist alongside her acting work, is being remembered in tributes following the news of her death. Many fans have referenced her role on M*A*S*H in their posts about the acclaimed actor.

One fan wrote on X earlier: “Rest in peace [Loretta]. A truly phenomenal actress who will be deeply missed…” Sharing their reaction, another person said in a post: “May you Rest in Peace Loretta. You are off duty now.”

Someone else wrote: “This is absolutely devastating news… Loretta Swit was an amazing human being. Exceptional on-screen and off-screen. Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen Loretta.”

Whilst one fan said: “R.I.P [Loretta], thank you for the memories.” Someone wrote in their tribute: “The great Loretta Swit has died. Our Margaret ‘Hot Lips’ Houlihan. Farewell, Loretta. Thank you for sharing your time with us.”

Another person posted following the news: “No character evolves more across 11 seasons of M*A*S*H than Major Margaret Houlihan. Loretta Swit made it believable.”

Loose Women star bags major new role days after ITV’s brutal daytime TV cuts

A Loose Women icon recently took to her Instagram page to announce the release of her new podcast, with its first episode released today (Friday 30 May)

Loose Women star bags major new role days after ITV’s brutal daytime TV cuts

An iconic Loose Women panellist has landed a brand new job just days after ITV announced its shock changes. The popular daytime programme will air for just 30 weeks each year from January, one of several changes ITV is making to “reinvest across the programme budget in other genres.”

It reportedly left some Loose Women stars worried for their future, particularly Coleen Nolan, who a source had said was “shocked and blindsided” at the decision. It also emerged some panelists were “in a state of panic and up in arms” about the bombshell changes that were only recently announced – while Nadia Sawalha broke down in tears and said “I could be let go tomorrow” as she discussed the cuts.

Amid the panic, panellist Judi Love revealed she landed herself a podcasting gig. On Friday morning, the 44-year-old comedian took to her Instagram to reveal the first episode of Our Table.

Fellow Loose Woman panellist Charlene White is joining her for the brand-new show, along with David Gyasi, comedian Michelle de Swarte and actress Deborah Ayorinde.

“Our Table will launch on Friday, the 30th, on YouTube and all major podcast platforms!,” Judi recently posted on social media. “We have an exciting series lined up, featuring incredible guests and engaging conversations. Join us at Our Table!!”

Fans congratulated her on her new venture, as one said: “Well done Judi, an incredible trajectory,” and another posted: “Yesssssssss! Congratulations our Judi.” Nadia Sawalha added: “Truly overwhelmed at how fabulous this show is…”

The guests of the first episode discussed “identity, ambition, and the life experiences that have shaped them” over a Caribbean-inspired meal made by Chef Dom Taylor.

“Honest, moving, and often hilarious, this episode sets the tone for a series that’s all about real people and real talk,” the description explained.

Meanwhile, ITV recently stressed Loose Women plays an important part in its daytime schedule, and told the Mirror that wholesale changes to the panel are unlikely.

The ITV source said: “We are not planning any radical changes to the panel. All of our Loose Women are hugely valued and we celebrate each and every one and the experience and opinions they bring to the show every day.

“Many of our long standing panellists have appeared on the show for the majority of its 25 year run on screens and those stalwart, Loose legends are at the core of the show’s success and hugely popular with the audience. The show remains a big priority within our daytime slate, having secured a BAFTA nomination, launched a podcast and celebrated a milestone anniversary in the last year alone.”

The programme, which first aired in 2000, won a Royal Television Society award earlier this year for its Facing It Together campaign against domestic violence.

Singer Louis Tomlinson has been snapped getting handsy with his girlfriend Zara McDermott as their romance hots up.

The singing sensation, 33, was seen playfully and affectionately grasping and patting 28 year old Zara’s bottom as the pair share a romantic kiss in exclusive pictures and video obtained by the Mirror.

Louis, who was recently snapped passionately kissing Zara, is seen bringing out his playful side as they enjoyed a tropical adventure in Costa Rica. They were seen browsing local spots, as the newly loved-up couple embraced and kissed.

Zara looked radiant in a white strapless top and matching trousers, with a turquoise tie neck bikini under her top – ready for any adventure her romantic trip with Louis might offer. She accessorised her look with a pair of gold hoop earrings and a beige cap to cover her hair, which was tied in an adorable plait.

The former Love Island beauty turned documentary-maker kept her valuables in a designer bag for the outing, which comprised of wicker-style material and leather straps.

Meanwhile, Louis wore a pair of white shorts with a pastel orange top and sunglasses as he gave Zara a smooch, his tatted arm wrapped around Zara’s waist as he cheekily rested his hand on her bottom and gave her a kiss, which was warmly received by Zara as she affectionately put her hand on Louis’ neck.

The loved-up lad looked incredibly relaxed in Zara’s company as he puffed on a cigarette and struck a pose as if he was dancing. Meanwhile, it seemed the pair are enjoying being playful with one another as one photo sees Louis and Zara mucking about together – with him pretending to look serious while placing a hand on Zara’s chest and extending out his arm, a move which received a big grin from smitten reality star Zara, who is seen affectionately holding Louis’ wrist.

The playful moment then saw the pair both descend into wide smiles, with them both grinning from ear to ear as they mucked around with one another.

Later, to add to the already action-packed trip, Louis and Zara were seen hopping on a red ATV quad bike which saw the Bigger Than Me crooner take charge as he steered the vehicle while Zara sat behind him and took in the sights around her.

Earlier this month it was reported Zara flew 5,000 miles to join Louis for a romantic trip while he worked on his upcoming album. It’s been claimed by insiders that Louis splashed thousands for Zara to join him, flying her first class from London to Costa Rica after she attended the TV BAFTAs.

The pair first struck up romance rumours earlier this year as they were photographed on a cosy date in Suffolk in March, just a few weeks after Zara’s split from her long-term boyfriend Sam Thompson, who is now dating Samie Elishi.

Since then, it appears their romance has continued to hot up as Zara is now supporting Louis in Costa Rica. But, she won’t be in the stands of Old Trafford for Soccer Aid as Louis is set to play alongside Zara’s ex Sam for the charity match next month.

Grace Keeling, better known as GK Barry, is stepping into a new role this summer—hosting her very own weekend show on BBC Radio 1 throughout July. Known for her rise from TikTok fame and I’m A Celebrity appearances, the 25-year-old influencer will be on air every Saturday and Sunday from 1–4pm starting July 4.

“This is completely different from podcasting,” she told MailOnline. “I’m really excited to be presenting my own show with BBC Radio 1 this summer… I’m always listening to the radio when I travel, so I can’t wait to interact with the listeners and get them involved in all the fun.”

The BBC has teased that GK will be joined by “special guests” throughout her run, offering fans a new side to the digital star. Meanwhile, fellow celebrity Jamie Laing is also returning to the airwaves – this time alongside his wife, Sophie Habboo, who’ll co-host while his usual presenters are on maternity leave.

GK Barry has reached a career milestone
GK Barry has reached a career milestone

Away from her growing media career, GK has spoken candidly about her childhood in the British Virgin Islands and her difficult transition back to the UK. Born Grace Keeling, she spent her early years in Tortola with her mother Loretta and stepfather Andrew, whom she considers her dad.

“From as young as I can remember, I was in Tortola and I was one of the only white girls,” she shared on the Loose Women podcast. “All the aunties were doing my hair… little cornrows… I never saw anything different about that.”

She described her school life there as racially diverse and inclusive. “There were so many different races… I was friends with everyone. I had an incredible time.”

But the move to Cambridge at age eight was a harsh contrast. “We moved back to a predominantly white, small town, and I had a Caribbean accent,” she said. “Now Jane, I don’t know if you’ve ever gone into a small town with a Caribbean accent and be white, but it’s vicious.”

Struggling to connect with her peers, she recalled, “Most people couldn’t wrap their head around [it at school]… I’m talking about my life and people had no clue what I was on about.”

She also remembered the racism her stepfather endured. “My dad was getting a lot of hate at the time… so it was sort of just like, ‘I don’t really know where we all stand here’.” Host Jane Moore clarified, “This is your stepdad, but he’s your dad,” to which GK agreed.

Talks are underway for the Spice Girls to make a comeback – but not in the usual way. Their former manager, Simon Fuller, is reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing the iconic group back as digital avatars, following the path set by ABBA’s successful hologram residency.

Sources have revealed that Fuller has pitched this cutting-edge concept to the band, envisioning lifelike holograms of Geri Halliwell-Horner, Mel B and Mel C, Emma Bunton, and Victoria Beckham performing their greatest hits. Although Victoria opted out of their 2019 tour, insiders say she’s open to this new approach as long as all the other members are on board. One insider shared: “Simon is eager to pull off one final spectacle with the Spice Girls, and this is his latest brainchild.

Simon is hopeful for a Spice Girls reunion

“He was the mastermind behind ABBA’s groundbreaking digital shows and believes this strategy would suit the Spice Girls perfectly. Touring again seems doubtful – Victoria, for instance, isn’t likely to return as a full-time member – so this could be their best chance to reunite.”

According to the source, the band responded positively when Simon introduced the idea. “Even Victoria said she’d support it if everyone else agreed. She wouldn’t stand in the way,” they added.

Fuller reportedly sees this venture as a way for the group to generate income effortlessly while also connecting with a brand-new generation of fans. “It’s an incredibly exciting concept, and he’s confident it can be pulled off,” the inside told The Sun.

The concept echoes the pitch Simon made to ABBA nearly a decade ago, though they eventually went with an even more futuristic show. ABBA’s hologram residency in East London has been a huge hit and continues into its third year.

Victoria herself has previously voiced support for a virtual Spice Girls residency. When asked on American television in 2022 about the idea, she responded, “That is a great idea.”

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Geri had a secret meeting with Simon in Miami, where they discussed plans for a 2026 reunion – marking 30 years since the release of their debut single, “Wannabe.”

Earlier this year, Mel C also hinted at a reunion, saying, “We have to do something special. Obviously, I can’t say too much but we are talking about things. Hopefully a nice little world tour.”

The Mirror has reached out to Simon’s representatives for comment on this story.

Emmerdale have dropped a huge hint about what’s in store for Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle. It’s been a very dramatic week on Emmerdale, which has all led up to the wedding between Aaron and John Sugden.

John – played by Oliver Farnworth – suffered a string of nightmares in the hours leading up to his and Aaron’s wedding, including him being arrested for Nate Robinson’s murder. He killed Nate months ago and hid his body in the lake.

He then had a vision of his former partner Aidan Moore waking up from his coma and breaking up the wedding. His nightmare made him go and visit Aidan, who had started talking, and quickly he decided he needed to see to the end of Aidan for good.

However, he couldn’t go through with it – and then Aidan suffered a heart attack, putting him back in a coma. It was then for the biggest surprise at all – when Ryan Hawley made his return as Aaron’s former partner Robert Sugden.

On Wednesday’s episode, Ryan appeared to stop the wedding – but was this one of John’s nightmares? It turns out Robert had made a special request for day release from prison – just to stop Aaron from making the biggest mistake of his life.

Robert begged Aaron to take him back and even though they shared a kiss, it wasn’t enough to convince Aaron to get back with Robert. He vowed he would still marry John and tonight, the wedding went ahead.

John and Aaron seemed happier than ever as they got to say their ‘I do’s’, with their families watching on. Meanwhile, Robert found himself in trouble as he was arrested for breaching the conditions of his licence.

He ended up back in prison, having being shopped to the police by a “concerned citizen” (John), and called Victoria where he said he wouldn’t give up on Aaron, despite the fact he was now married.

Aaron headed out of the village with his new husband John in his van as they started their honeymoon. With both deciding not to use their phones, Aaron had got a special CD for them.

As they drove out the village, the others were distracted by news that a body had been found in the lake – and Ruby and everyone were quickly convinced it must be Anthony. Of course, we know that it is Nate’s body in that lake.

Aaron and John stopped just by the village to share one last kiss, just as the music played in the background. As they drove over the bridge, the song lyrics “I know I won’t be leaving here with you” played – is that proof John and Aaron won’t make it through, and that there will be a proper reunion for fan favourites Robron – Robert and Aaron?

The BBC has confirmed that Wynne Evans will not return to present on BBC Radio Wales after he said, “The BBC has decided not to renew my contract”. Evans, 53, known for the Go.Compare insurance advertisements, revealed in January, he would be taking some time out from both his radio show and the Strictly tour to prioritise his wellbeing.

On Friday, a spokesperson for the BBC said: “Wynne Evans is not under contract with the BBC. He is not returning to the mid-morning show on BBC Radio Wales and there are currently no plans to work with him”. An apology had been issued earlier this year on behalf of Evans over “inappropriate language” used during the Strictly tour launch in January.

Wynne hit the headlines for multiple reasons during his time on the BBC dance show. He was shown grabbing his professional partner Katya’s waist before she pushed his hand away, but he later insisted it was a joke.

He then came under fire for using the term ‘spit roast’ to Janette Manrara during a Strictly photocall, but he later insisted it was directed at Jamie Borthwick and had nothing to do with Janette. As a result of the comment, he was axed from the Strictly tour – and then a video emerged of him sending a sex toy to his co-star Jamie, which both were heavily criticised for.

Now Wynne has revealed he has not had his contract renewed and he will not be back with the BBC for his radio show – and thus has decided to continue to do his radio show away from the BBC.

“My beloved Wynners, From the very depths of my heart – thank you. These past few months, your love has been the light in my darkest days. Every message, every word of encouragement, every moment you stood by me has carried me through more than you could ever know,” he said in an

“It breaks my heart to say the BBC has decided not to renew my contract so I won’t be returning to my radio show. I’m gutted. That show wasn’t just work – it was home. It was us. We laughed, we cried, we sang like nobody was listening. And somehow, through the airwaves, we became a family.”

He continued: “But here’s what I believe with everything I’ve got: what we built cannot end here. So – deep breath — here goes… We’re getting the band back together. The Wynne Evans Show is coming back, live every day from 9am–12pm on a new app, on Alexa and Google (we don’t have to say ‘smart speaker’ anymore!) and at www.wynneevansshow.co.uk.

“This is our next adventure. And I need you more than ever. We will have great music, my question of the day, the mystery voice, your soundtrack stories and so much more, because we have each other again.”

Back in January, Wynne issued a message to say he was taking some time away. He said at the time: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection. Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support.”

At the time, Wynne was also grieving the loss of his brother Huw and said he found out about the BBC’s decision to originally suspend him when his BBC pass no longer worked and had been deactivated without warning.
