“l CAN PUT HlM BACK!” — AFTER 32 YEARS, THE MOTHER OF JAMES BULGER IS READY FOR THE FINAL BLOW!

Denise Fergus, the indomitable mother whose unquenchable thirst for justice has defined a generation’s grief since her two-year-old son James Bulger was abducted, tortured, and murdered by Jon Venables and Robert Thompson on February 12, 1993, has ignited a fresh flame of fury with a vow that’s “in touching distance” of putting one of her son’s killers back behind bars after 32 years of “heartbreak” and hollow victories, declaring in a September 30, 2025, ITV Tonight interview that “this time, he won’t walk free.”

Denise Fergus: 'My son's death is being glorified' | This Morning

The “battle cry,” delivered with the quiet steel of a woman who’s weathered media maelstroms and legal labyrinths, centers on Venables, the parole recidivist recalled to prison thrice for child pornography (2010, 2013, 2017; 2023 denied), whose “secret identity” under the Mary Bell Order continues to enrage as Denise pushes for a “public reckoning” in the House of Lords.

The “touching distance”? A tantalizing torment: Fergus, 56, has campaigned through the James Bulger Memorial Trust (£1.5M raised since 2011), her “unyielding fire” a fire that forged the 2024 inquiry (250k signatures) demanding “transparency” from the Parole Board. “Venables walks free while my boy lies still – but I’m close enough to taste the bars,” she said, tears tracing the lines of a face etched by endless echoes, the “won’t walk free” a whisper of the “intruder theory” that’s haunted since 2008’s DNA exoneration.

It took me right back, it really did destroy me' - James Bulger's mother criticises new film about his murder | Irish Independent

The “shaking the system”? A seismic shift: Venables’ “recidivist” return – 2025’s “classified images” breach – has reignited Fergus’s “relentless rage,” her “put him back” a plea backed by MPs like David Morris (“Expose the evil”). The “nation’s wound”? A wound reopened: James’s “echo” – 38 minutes of torture on Walton tracks – sparked a circus of speculation, Fergus’s “light defies dark” a light for the 1 in 4 unsolved UK cases.

This isn’t mum’s murmur; it’s a manifesto of mettle, Fergus’s “touching distance” a torch for the tormented. The vow? Valiant. September 30? Not interview – an ignition. Fans? Flooded with faith. The world’s watching – whispering wellness. James’s justice? Jaundiced, journeying.

Is this the result of public desperation after years of political inaction — or the beginning of something far more dangerous?

“They Can’t Just Do This!” New footage has emerged showing masked British men targeting migrant boats on French beaches, sparking outrage and fear across both sides of the Channel. Witnesses described the scenes as “terrifying” and “chaotic,” with locals and officials alike warning this could mark a chilling new chapter in the crisis. Is this the result of public desperation after years of political inaction — or the beginning of something far more dangerous?

In the windswept dunes of northern France, where the English Channel’s waves crash like a relentless tide of human desperation, a new front has opened in the battle over illegal migration. Shocking footage circulating online shows masked British men, cloaked in hoods and anonymity, storming beaches near Calais and Dunkirk. Armed with knives, they slash inflatable dinghies destined for the UK, their blades slicing through rubber as they bellow war cries like “Not one more!” and “Don’t touch another person!” These self-proclaimed patriots, operating under banners like “Operation Stop The Boats,” have turned the migrant route into a theater of vigilante justice, raising alarms about escalating violence on Europe’s shores.

French cops FINALLY drag small boat packed with migrants back to shore… with BBC crew conveniently on hand to film it

The clips, amassing thousands of views on platforms like X and Instagram, depict the men—often waving Union Jacks—digging up buried boats from the sand, stomping engines, and puncturing hulls under cover of night. One viral video captures a hooded figure plunging a knife into a deflated vessel, the hiss of escaping air underscoring his declaration: “We’re taking matters into our own hands because no one else will.” These aren’t isolated acts; groups like Raise The Colours, with over 100,000 followers, have documented dozens of such raids, framing them as a grassroots response to what they call a “migrant invasion.” Their online pleas for donations urge supporters: “Stopping the boats, whether the migrants or government like it or not!”

This surge in far-right activism comes amid record Channel crossings. In 2025 alone, over 50,000 migrants have braved the deadly 21-mile stretch, a 50% spike from last year, driven by smuggling gangs profiting millions. French authorities, bolstered by £500 million in UK funding, have intensified patrols—deploying drones, buggies, and even slashing boats themselves in shallow waters. But critics argue these measures fall short, with migrants regrouping in squalid camps, undeterred by the peril. Last July, BBC footage showed gendarmes wading in to knife a dinghy packed with families, dragging the wreckage ashore amid cries of frustration. “It’s like a war zone,” one migrant told reporters, echoing Nigel Farage’s warnings of “hammer attacks and stabbings” by rival gangs.

Yet, the vigilantes’ interventions teeter on the edge of criminality. French prosecutors in Dunkirk have launched probes into “aggravated violence” against migrants, citing September incidents where four flag-waving Brits allegedly assaulted asylum seekers, stealing belongings and hurling insults: “You’re not welcome in England!” Human rights groups like Utopia 56 decry the acts as xenophobic thuggery, warning they exacerbate dangers—deflated boats mean more desperate launches, and 73 deaths last year underscore the route’s lethality. One Kurdish migrant, Deniz, recounted four failed crossings: “We begged the officer to look away, but he slashed it anyway. Now it’s these masked men doing the same.”

French police use knives to puncture migrant dinghies in the sea

Back in Britain, the raids split opinions. Supporters hail them as bold patriotism, filling a void left by “ineffective” governments—Labour’s border policies under fire for hotel housing and benefit strains. Detractors, including anti-fascist watchdogs, fear they embolden extremists, potentially sparking clashes with armed smugglers who, in one clip, stabbed at a vigilante’s car tire while police stood by. As winter storms brew, the question looms: Will these knife-wielding crusaders deter crossings, or ignite a transnational powder keg? With Franco-British summits looming, the beaches remain a flashpoint—where desperation meets defiance, and one punctured dream can sink lives on both sides.

In the pre-dawn mist of northern France’s windswept beaches, a new kind of battle is unfolding—one that has ignited outrage, fear, and a firestorm of debate on both sides of the English Channel. British vigilantes, under the banner of groups like Raise the Colours, have been caught on camera slashing inflatable migrant boats, harassing asylum seekers, and even posing as journalists to lure vulnerable people into confrontations. Dubbed “Operation Overlord” and “Operation Stop The Boats,” their brazen actions—filmed for social media clout—have escalated tensions in an already volatile migrant crisis. As France launches criminal investigations and migrant support groups decry government inaction, the UK remains eerily silent, leaving a trail of questions: Who are these vigilantes? What drives their dangerous crusade? And how did a desperate plea to “stop the boats” spiral into a cross-border vigilante movement that threatens lives and international relations? The truth is as shocking as it is complex, revealing a collision of fear, frustration, and unchecked extremism.

The Migrant Crisis: A Ticking Time Bomb

The English Channel, a narrow 21-mile stretch separating Britain from France, has become a flashpoint in one of Europe’s most contentious issues: illegal migration. In 2025 alone, over 41,455 migrants—mostly from conflict-torn regions like Syria, Eritrea, and Afghanistan—crossed from northern France to the UK in small, overcrowded boats, a 16% increase from 2024. These perilous journeys, orchestrated by ruthless smuggling gangs, have claimed lives, with drownings and hypothermia all too common. The UK’s Home Office, under pressure to curb arrivals, has deported nearly 50,000 illegal migrants since July 2024, while Labour’s promise to “smash the gangs” remains unfulfilled.

French police slash inflatable migrant boat heading to UK

On the French side, beaches near Calais, Dunkirk, and Gravelines are staging grounds for these crossings. Migrants, often living in squalid camps, board flimsy dinghies or “taxi boats” that pick them up just offshore to evade police. French authorities, partly funded by the UK, have intensified efforts, with videos showing police slashing boats in shallow waters or firing tear gas at crowds attempting launches. Yet, the boats keep coming, fueling public anger in Britain, where asylum costs hit £5.4 billion in 2025.

Enter the Vigilantes: Operation Overlord Unleashed

Against this backdrop, a group of British men, led by figures like Daniel Thomas (aka “Danny Tommo”), Ryan Bridge, and Elliott Stanley of Raise the Colours, have taken matters into their own hands. Since summer 2024, they’ve traveled to northern France, targeting migrant boats hidden in dunes and confronting asylum seekers with chilling aggression. Their campaign, dubbed “Operation Overlord”—a provocative nod to the 1944 D-Day invasion—has seen them slash inflatable dinghies, brandish knives, and shout xenophobic insults like “We don’t want them in our country!” at terrified migrants.

Videos posted on social media platforms like X and Instagram, where Raise the Colours boasts 100,000 followers, capture their actions in stark detail. One clip from December 7 shows a masked vigilante waving a knife at a car’s occupants, captioned: “Illegal migrant armed with a knife attempts to attack Raise the Colours patriots.” Another, filmed on a Gravelines beach, shows a destroyed boat as French police confront the group, questioning their lack of press credentials. The footage, designed for maximum virality, has garnered thousands of views, amplifying their message of “stopping the boats” at any cost.

Small boat migrant found dead riddled with bullets on French ...

Their tactics have evolved disturbingly. In a new ploy, vigilantes posed as accredited journalists, offering migrants money to speak on camera—only to use the encounters for harassment. In Paris, they targeted black homeless men, shouting “Africa!” and filming confrontations to stoke anti-migrant sentiment. These performative acts, described by scholar Matthijs Gardenier as “highly performative vigilantism,” rely on dramatic patrols and online provocation, often spilling into real-world intimidation.

The Men Behind the Masks: Who Are Raise the Colours?

Raise the Colours began as a flag-waving movement, raising St George’s Crosses across England to protest immigration policies they deemed too lenient. Linked to far-right figure Tommy Robinson, the group has ties to football hooligan firms and a history of anti-migrant protests. Daniel Thomas, a core member, is a vocal agitator with a YouTube presence; Ryan Bridge has been filmed slashing boats; Elliott Stanley discussed recruiting men for cross-Channel shifts in a pub overheard by a concerned citizen.

Their planning is audacious. On November 17, 2025, the trio was recorded plotting to acquire a £35,000 boat and drones to evade police, intending to “misdirect” authorities with diversions. Their rhetoric—invoking WWII and calling for “self-justice”—frames migrants as an “invasion,” a narrative that resonates with a frustrated segment of the British public but alarms human rights advocates.

France’s Response: Criminal Probes and Tear Gas

French authorities are cracking down. On December 5, videos showed vigilantes livestreaming from Dunkirk, confronting Doctors Without Borders (MSF) workers and accusing them of aiding an “invasion.” Police have clashed with both migrants and vigilantes, using tear gas to disperse crowds attempting boat launches near Calais. A criminal investigation into the vigilantes’ actions is underway, with French police questioning their presence and press credentials.

Nine French migrant support groups, including Utopia 56 and MSF, issued a scathing statement on December 11, condemning the UK and French governments for failing to stop “migrant hunters” encouraging “violent and xenophobic practices.” They argue that slashing boats endangers lives, forcing migrants onto even riskier vessels or into confrontations with smugglers.

France’s new policy, following UK pressure, allows maritime police to intercept boats at sea before passengers board, but charities warn this risks lives. Videos of police slashing boats themselves have drawn criticism for their brutality, with one showing officers deflating a dinghy packed with families.

The UK’s Silence: A Political Powder Keg

The UK government’s response has been muted, drawing ire from both sides. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood’s asylum reforms, announced in November 2025, include 14-year prison terms for smuggling and expanded surveillance, but critics like Reform UK argue it’s too little, too late. A Home Office spokesperson acknowledged “frustration” but insisted vigilante actions are a French matter, issuing warnings against Brits traveling to interfere.

The Church of England, through Bishops Arun Arora and Christopher Chessun, condemned the vigilantes’ use of Christian imagery, like St George’s flags, to justify hate. Meanwhile, public sentiment is polarized. X posts from Raise the Colours, pleading for donations to “stop the boats,” have sparked both support and outrage, with some calling them “patriots” and others “thugs.”

The Human Cost: Migrants Caught in the Crossfire

For migrants, the vigilantes’ actions are a new layer of terror. In camps like Loon-Plage near Dunkirk, asylum seekers already face freezing conditions, police raids, and smuggler violence. Slashing boats forces them onto overcrowded or damaged vessels, increasing drowning risks. One Eritrean migrant, speaking anonymously to Le Monde, described hiding in dunes to avoid “the British men with knives.”

Charities report heightened fear, with aid workers now facing harassment. “These vigilantes are endangering lives and inflaming tensions,” said an MSF spokesperson. The December 21 clash near Calais, where police fired tear gas at 30 migrants attempting a launch, underscores the volatile atmosphere.

A Broader Crisis: The Rise of Vigilantism

The vigilantes’ actions reflect a growing trend of anti-migrant vigilantism, as outlined in Matthijs Gardenier’s book Towards a Vigilant Society. From Calais to Dover, groups exploit public frustration, staging dramatic acts for social media. Their rhetoric—evoking WWII and football hooliganism—taps into a sense of lost control, amplified by political figures like former UKIP leader Henry Bolton, who warned of security threats after 803 migrants crossed on December 20.

Yet, their impact is deadly. By destroying boats, vigilantes push migrants toward more dangerous routes, while their videos fuel xenophobia. France’s criminal probe may lead to arrests, but the cross-border nature complicates justice. The UK’s reluctance to act decisively risks emboldening further vigilantism.

What’s Next: A Call for Humanity

As Christmas approaches, the Channel remains a battleground. On December 21, 803 migrants crossed in 13 boats, a December record, underscoring the crisis’s scale. Raise the Colours’ videos continue to spread, their donation pleas gaining traction among supporters. France’s new interception tactics, including nets and sea patrols, aim to deter crossings, but charities warn of humanitarian costs.

The real story is not just vigilante bravado but the human toll: migrants risking death for safety, communities torn by fear, and governments failing to bridge divides. The bishops’ words ring true: “Christianity cannot justify hate.” As investigations unfold, the world watches, hearts heavy, for a path beyond this escalating conflict.

Cycling Legend Sir Chris Hoy Shares Painful Cancer Update — And the Hope-Filled Message No One Will Forget

Sir Chris Hoy Faces Final Stage of Cancer With Courage, Hope — and a Powerful Mission

Cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy has revealed that his cancer has progressed, and he may not have much time left. But rather than stepping back quietly, Sir Chris is choosing to spend his remaining time doing what he’s always done best: inspiring others.

In a recent appearance, there was no sense of farewell — only strength, warmth, and determination. It was not a goodbye, but a powerful reminder of who Sir Chris Hoy truly is.

Pictured: Sir Chris Hoy undergoes life-saving chemotherapy for deadly prostate cancer while wearing nifty device | Daily Mail Online

    Turning Pain Into Purpose

Now battling stage 4 prostate cancer, Sir Chris continues to live with purpose. Instead of keeping his illness private, he has chosen to speak out — raising awareness and pushing for change, especially around men’s health and early cancer detection.

He’s still working, writing, and speaking publicly. At a packed event in Glasgow, he shared stories from his Olympic past, but also opened up about life with terminal illness. One story that touched many: he wore a cold cap during chemotherapy to keep his hair, just so his son wouldn’t be scared when seeing him at school. It’s a small detail, but it shows the depth of love behind every decision he makes.

His recent book, All That Matters, is a raw and honest reflection on living with terminal illness. But more than anything, it’s a book about hope — showing readers that even in life’s darkest moments, light can still shine through.

Sir Chris Hoy says he has 'two to four years' left to live in heartbreaking cancer update - Nottinghamshire Live

More Than Medals: The Champion’s True Legacy

Sir Chris isn’t just known for his six Olympic gold medals or his 13 world titles. It’s his attitude — his ability to adapt, persevere, and inspire — that sets him apart.

When the Olympic committee removed his favorite event, the kilo, he didn’t give up. He adapted, trained harder, and won more medals. That same spirit now powers him through this final challenge — a race against time, not for victory, but for meaning.

At the Glasgow event, he welcomed every fan with warmth and humility. Some hadn’t seen him in decades, but he greeted them like old friends. That’s the kind of man he is — not just a champion on the track, but in life.

Building a Future Beyond His Own

The evening was filled with laughter, memories, and powerful lessons. Sir Chris spoke not just of his past, but of the legacy he hopes to leave behind.

Through his upcoming charity event, Tour de Four — a major cycling fundraiser this September — he aims to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer research. His mission is clear: to help prevent other men from facing the same diagnosis.

And in a moment that said everything about his character, when someone collapsed during the event, it was Chris — despite his own condition — who jumped up to get help. A small act of kindness, but one that says so much.

    Still Leading, Still Inspiring

Yes, this might be his farewell tour — but it doesn’t feel like an ending.

Sir Chris Hoy continues to lead, to teach, and to uplift. His strength, humor, and generosity in the face of such a hard battle are deeply inspiring. He remains a living legend, not just for his achievements in cycling, but for how he’s choosing to live — and give — until the very end.

And perhaps, in his words and actions, we’ll find that this chapter isn’t just about saying goodbye — it’s about carrying his message forward.

England football legend Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 74, his family has confirmed, following a recent admission to hospital over ongoing abdominal symptoms.

The former England manager and Liverpool hero was taken into care after experiencing persistent health issues, with further investigations leading doctors to the devastating diagnosis. In a statement released on behalf of the family, they confirmed that Kevin will now undergo treatment and thanked the medical team for their swift intervention and continued care.

The statement said Kevin was grateful for the support he has received, while the family asked for privacy during what they described as a deeply difficult period, adding that no further comment would be made at this time.

Support quickly poured in from across the football world. A spokesperson for Newcastle United, where Keegan is revered as both a player and a manager, said the club was standing firmly behind “King Kev”, adding that everyone associated with the club hoped for a full and speedy recovery.

The announcement came on an emotional evening at St James’ Park as Newcastle prepared to face Leeds United, with many fans learning the news just hours before kick-off.

Former Newcastle and England striker Alan Shearer shared the news on social media alongside a prayer emoji, while tributes and messages of encouragement flooded in from clubs, former teammates and supporters alike. Liverpool FC said the thoughts of everyone at the club and the Forever Reds community were with Keegan and his family.

Close friend and former teammate John Anderson admitted the diagnosis had come as a shock, saying it was not news anyone was expecting to hear. He told reporters that Newcastle fans across the North East would be sending all their love, reminding everyone that Keegan had resurrected the club not once, but twice — first as a player in the 1980s and later as the man who transformed them into title contenders in the 1990s.

Keegan’s legendary career spans decades. As a player, he won three First Division titles, two UEFA Cups, one FA Cup and a European Cup with Liverpool, and remains the only Englishman to have won the Ballon d’Or twice. He also enjoyed a prolific spell at Hamburg, becoming one of Europe’s most feared forwards.

As a manager, he is forever associated with Newcastle’s thrilling 1995–96 title charge and his unforgettable “I would love it if we beat them” outburst aimed at Sir Alex Ferguson during their dramatic title race with Manchester United.

Keegan later took charge of the England national football team, leading a generation that included Alan Shearer, David Beckham and Sol Campbell, before stepping down in 2000.

But this isn’t just another programme. Those close to the production say the series feels like a celebration of Monty’s life’s work — his commitment to organic growing, his belief in letting nature lead, and his quiet campaign to make gardens places of peace rather than perfection.

Over the years, Monty has spoken candidly about mental health, grief, aging, and the healing power of simply being outdoors. Viewers don’t just tune in for tips — they tune in for comfort.

    And that hasn’t changed.

    Fans Are Already Emotional

As soon as the announcement dropped, social media erupted.

“Monty Don is the reason I started gardening.”
“We don’t need celebrities. We need Monty.”
“This show will get me through winter.”

The comments tell a story of a man who hasn’t just shaped gardens — he’s shaped lives.

    Not A Comeback. A Continuation.

This January’s series isn’t about proving anything. It’s about continuing a conversation that’s been going on for over 20 years — between a man, his garden, and a nation that still finds comfort in the sound of his boots on gravel.

    Monty Don isn’t done yet.

And Britain, it seems, wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • Rylan Clark’s mum Linda, 73, was rushed to hospital after a terrifying fall right outside her front door, leaving Rylan deeply worried

Rylan Clark’s mum Linda, 73, was rushed to hospital after a terrifying fall right outside her front door, leaving Rylan deeply worried

Rylan Clark’s mum, Linda Clark, has revealed she was rushed to hospital after suffering a frightening fall outside her home, after mistaking ice for water while taking out the rubbish.

The 73-year-old, who is well known to viewers from Celebrity Gogglebox, slipped on the icy ground and fractured her shoulder in the fall.

Speaking live on air with her son during his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday, Linda calmly told listeners: “I just went flying and I hurt my arm again,” before confirming her shoulder was fractured and badly bruised. She admitted her arm had turned “black” from the bruising and was “so sore”.

Rylan didn’t hide his worry as he recalled the moment he got the call. He said it was “a lovely phone call” to receive first thing in the morning, hearing that his mum was on her way to hospital. Trying to stay positive, he added that it could have been far worse, referencing previous falls where Linda had injured multiple limbs.

Despite his concern, Rylan reassured listeners that his mum was being well looked after and urged her to rest and take things easy, joking that she struggles to slow down even when injured. “In all fairness though, it was an accident,” he explained. “She just slipped on some ice.”

The incident comes only months after Linda was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital, prompting Rylan to cancel a Radio 2 show at the time. In an emotional Instagram update last summer, he told fans that “Mummy Linda isn’t well,” while thanking hospital staff for taking care of her and promising to keep everyone updated.

Linda’s health has been a longstanding concern for the presenter. Rylan has previously spoken openly about her battle with Crohn’s disease, a chronic condition she has lived with since her 30s, which has required multiple operations and daily medication. She also survived sepsis in 2018 and suffered another serious fall in Marbella in 2023 that required emergency surgery before the pair flew home on a private plane.

Despite everything, Rylan has often described his mum as “a trooper,” and once again reassured fans that she is on the mend and in safe hands as she recovers from her latest injury.

Owen Cooper’s teary-eyed co-star Stephen Graham and proud dad Andy watched on as the teen made history at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

Owen, 16, scooped the gong for Supporting Actor at this year’s star-studded awards – in the midst of studying for his GCSE exams.

The win also makes him the second-youngest male Globe winner of all time, behind The Champ star Ricky Schroder, who won the new star of the year award in 1980 at nine years old.

As he took to the stage to accept the award, Owen reflected on his ‘incredible journey’ to the packed room of Hollywood A-listers.

He said: ‘Standing here at the Golden Globes. Wow. It does not feel real whatsoever. What an incredible journey me and my family have been put through, we are forever grateful.

‘What started off as something I thought I might be OK at, I might be awful, I took a risk and went to drama classes, I was the only boy there, it was embarrassing. But I got through it and I’m still very much an apprentice, still learning every day from the people in front of me who inspired me, I wouldn’t be here without you guys.

‘It’s mad, what is going on?’

Owen went on to thank those involved with Adolescence before ending with a rousing message and a nod to his beloved Liverpool FC – which appeared to leave the room baffled.

He said: ‘Bring on 2026. You’ll never walk alone.’

Owen had beaten his co-star Ashley Walters, along with Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Walton Goggins and Jason Isaacs from The White Lotus and Tramell Tillman (Severance) to the honour.

His proud dad Andy beamed with pride as he watched his teenage son accept the award, while his co-star Stephen Graham, who played his on-screen father, was also full of joy for him.

Snaps from the ceremony, which took place at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel, showed Andy become teary-eyed as Owen made his speech on stage.

Stephen Graham also won an award for his performance on the night.

Graham was presented with his acting prize by Leonardo DiCaprio, with whom he shared a warm embrace as he took the stage to deliver his acceptance speech.

He also showered praise on his wife Anna Walters, who also worked on Adolescence as both an actress and executive producer.

‘I’ve said it before, but you saved my life. You saved my life,’ Graham said touchingly from the stage. ‘And to my two beautiful children, Grace and Alfie, I love you to the moon and back forever.’

He also spared warm words for ‘my dad, my pops, my hero, and I would just like to dedicate this particular award to my mom and all my friends and family, you all know exactly who you are. Without you, none of this is possible.’

Supporting actress Erin Doherty also took home gold, dedicating her victory in part to therapists and earning a round of applause from the audience for doing so.

‘I didn’t wanna assume, but I feel like we all know, go to therapists,’ she said. ‘I just think life can be tough, mental health is everything, so thank you therapists, and it was an honour to play one. Thank you so much.’

Adolescence also triumphed in the highest category for which it was eligible – Best Limited TV Series, Anthology Series or Motion Picture Made for TV.

Elsewhere, Timothee Chalamet has soared over Leonardo DiCaprio – who stars in One Battle After Another – as the betting favorite to win the coveted Best Actor Oscar as he earned the top honor at the Golden Globe Awards 2026 for Marty Supreme (directed by Josh Safdie).

Before awards season it was 51-year-old DiCaprio who was the favorite to take home the coveted gong, but now Chalamet is expected to win the top acting prize at March’s Academy Awards according to regulated exchange and prediction market Kalshi.

However, DiCaprio’s flick One Battle After Another (directed by Paul Thomas Anderson) did earn the last laugh at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday night as the film not only triumphed over Chalamet’s project but also beat out Blue Moon, Bugonia, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague for Best Picture – Comedy Or Musical.

One Battle After Another was the most awarded film of the night with four but will no doubt face stiff competition in the Oscars race from Hamnet (directed by Chloe Zhao) as it earned the last award of the night in the Best Picture – Drama category over Frankenstein, It Was Just An Accident, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, and Sinners.

On the television side, it was The Pitt (created by R Scott Gemmill), The Studio (created by Evan Goldberg, Alex Gregory, and Peter Huyck), and Adolescence (created by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne) which earned wins in the drama, comedy or musical, and limited series categories, respectively.

Meanwhile, 30-year-old Chalamet surely had tongues wagging as he barely acknowledged girlfriend Kylie Jenner during his acceptance speech for Marty Supreme.

The French-speaking actor had another major awards show moment as he earned Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy and abruptly ended his speech by saying: ‘To my parents and partner, I love you. Thank you so much.’

It was noticeably a much more muted acknowledgement for Jenner, 28, as he boldly declared her love for her at last week’s Critics Choice Awards 2026.
