Patrick Mahomes recent announcement Breaks Heart- No one Believed untill now

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, celebrated not only for his prowess on the football field but also for his unwavering commitment to philanthropy, made a significant announcement that’s set to make a lasting impact off the field.

In a heartwarming declaration on Wednesday, Patrick Mahomes, alongside his wife Brittany, revealed a multi-year commitment aimed at supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of young individuals.

This transformative partnership includes a generous contribution of $1.625 million, earmarked to bolster Boys & Girls Clubs in regions close to the hearts of the Mahomes family.

These areas encompass the Greater Kansas City region, as well as Lubbock, Tyler, and Whitehouse, Texas.

In his own words, Patrick Mahomes expressed his excitement about this new initiative, stating, “We are truly excited to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America by investing in the future of children. Kids who attend a Club, like Brittany once did, are provided with the necessary tools and resources to help this generation not only thrive but lead with compassion and purpose.”

Mahomes, now a father of two, has new perspective

The commitment goes even further, as the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, founded by Patrick Mahomes, will donate $1,500 for each touchdownMahomes scores during the regular season.

This pledge is poised to make a significant impact with Mahomes already throwing eight touchdowns this season and a history of consistently surpassing the 30-touchdown mark.

Brittany Mahomes, Patrick’s wife, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing their dedication to uplifting others. “This meaningful partnership will expand opportunities for kids everywhere, and the places that have positively impacted Patrick and me,” she stated.

Patrick Mahomes, while speaking to the media before practice on Wednesday, shared his personal connection to the Boys & Girls Clubs and why this partnership holds immense significance.

“The partnership with Boys & Girls Club, it’s something where I remember practicing basketball at Boys & Girls Clubs growing up and how fun that was,” Mahomes said. “It was a great experience. I got to meet people and (had) opportunities to play sports that I loved. I thought it was a great idea to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs . . . all the areas that I grew up in and give those same opportunities to kids. I thought it fit perfectly with my 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.”

As the Mahomes’ continue to positively impact their local community and beyond, this commitment reinforces their dedication to creating a brighter future for the younger generation.

With Patrick Mahomes consistently surpassing 38 touchdowns in the NFL regular season, the total donation from his touchdowns at the end of the year is projected to reach approximately $60,000 dollars.

Patrick Mahomes has expressed pride in his Black heritage in response to people online who label him “not full Black.”

The Kansas City Chiefs star shared his perspective in an interview with Clay Skipper of GQ:

“I’ve seen how people, on Twitter, have tweeted and said, ‘Oh, you’re not full Black.’ But I’ve always just had the confidence and believed in who I am. And I’ve known that I’m Black. And I’m proud to be Black.

And I’m proud to have a white mom too. I’m just proud of who I am. And I’ve always had that confidence in myself.”

He also acknowledged his privilege being the son of former major league pitcher Pat Mahomes.

“The more I mature, I’ve learned that I was blessed to be in the situation that I was in,” the younger Mahomes added.

The 24-year-old, who already has an MVP award, a Super Bowl title and Super Bowl MVP on his resume, has used his platform to speak out against racial injustice in recent months following the killing of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, in Minneapolis police custody.

Breaking News : Patrick Mahomes confirmed Taylor Swift as his Half Sister – this is how they are related

Travis Kelce “calmly” told his Kansas City Chiefs teammates that Taylor Swift would be at their Sunday, September 24, game against the Chicago Bears.

However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes didn’t know if he could believe the news.

“He told me at, like, the last minute. There are some things with Trav where he, kind of, just says it and you don’t know if it’s true or not,” Mahomes, 28, shared during a post-game press conference.

Patrick Mahomes' Mother Gives Her Opinion On Taylor Swift

“Friday, he was just like, ‘Ah, yeah, I think she’s coming to the game … this weekend’ and moved about his business. … That’s just Travis.”

Swift, 33, made headlines on Sunday when she attended the Chiefs game in Travis’ suite alongside his mom, Donna Kelce. Swift and Travis were also spotted leaving Arrowhead Stadium together following the game further fueling romance rumors.

Mahomes didn’t get a chance to meet the “tremendous” songstress while she was in Missouri.

“I guess if she ends up being with Travis, I’ll meet her at some point,” Mahomes shared during the press conference. “Seems like a good person, so hopefully, I can meet her one day.”

After the Chiefs beat the Bears 43 to 10 on Sunday, Mahomes gushed over his teammate’s possible new romance in various interviews. While on the field with Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews, Mahomes joked that he felt “pressure” with Swift in the stadium but made it his mission to get Travis the ball. (The tight end scored during the third quarter.)

“I knew I had to get it to Trav,” he shared. “He does his own thing and just makes up a route and I throw it to him. I think he wanted to get in the end zone as much as all the Swifties wanted him to.”

Travis first planted the seed of a possible romance with Swift after attending her Eras Tour concert in July, and dropping a hint about giving her his phone number on a friendship bracelet.

“Well, I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis said on his “New Heights” podcast — which he hosts alongside brother Jason Kelce — at the time. “So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

Various outlets were quick to report that Travis had connected with Swift after the comments went viral. Not to mention, Jason continued to add fuel to the fire.

“It is hard to answer because I don’t really know a lot about what is happening in Travis’ love life. I try to, like, keep his business [as] his business and straight out of that world,” the Philadelphia Eagles player shared during a radio show appearance on September 20. “Having said that. … I think it is 100 percent true.”

Travis, for his part, made a public plea to “stop asking my brother” about the Swift rumors while appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show” on September 21. (During the same interview, he publicly invited Swift to see him “rock the stage” at the stadium.)

“No one actually knows what’s going on, especially when you got Jason Kelce on live television telling people both sides — [saying] he doesn’t know, it’s true, this and that,” Travis joked. “The guy is absolutely ridiculous.”

Being an eclectic chap, Cockburn has sampled his fair share of music.

And he’s not ashamed to admit, contrary to Al Michaels’s suggestion that Taylor Swift only appeals to teenage girls, that he considers himself a “Swiftie” — not least of all because Swift makes repeated reference to one of his favorite activities: drinking alcohol.

Swift just released her new album, Midnights, along with an official music video to accompany her catchy and oh-so-clever song, Anti-Hero.

22 Taylor Swift with alcohol ideas | taylor swift, taylor, swift

The video tells you all you need to know about Swift’s preferred method for dealing with her problems.

Though she never mentions booze by name, she appears in the video taking shots and desperately shaking the last drop from a bottle of wine directly into her mouth.

If Al Michaels thinks such twenty-one-plus imagery and metaphors are for “teenage girls,” he obviously hasn’t listened to much beyond Swift’s 2014 album, 1989. In studying her catalog — casually, of course, and not at all because Swift is his go-to Spotify station — Cockburn noticed that alcohol started to become a recurring theme in her music with the release of her record Reputation. This also came shortly after Swift met her now-longtime English boyfriend Joe Alwyn, and, boy, do those Brits know how to drink.

If Cockburn had to guess, he would say Swift developed a liking for the strong stuff after she swam “in a Champagne sea” in 2017. This is the same year she admitted to spilling wine in a bathtub while drunk and drinking beer out of plastic cups. She once drank old-fashioneds and focused on drinking while her love interest at the time was more focused on thinking.

Later on in the same album, she met a new love interest in a bar, asked a former love interest to make her a drink, got drunk and made fun of the way Alwyn, presumably, talked and compared one of her boyfriend’s eyes to liquor. She also professes a fondness for Tennessee whiskey and informs us she can be found in a pub.

Taylor Swift drunk | Taylor swift christmas, Taylor swift videos, Taylor swift pictures

It was in 2020, however, that Swift really seems to have found refuge in the bottle. It was during Covid, when everyone was drinking more than we should.

On her albums evermore and Folklore, Swift refers to her “spite and my tears and my beers and my candles,” “sitting in an airport bar,” “champagne problems,” “that dive bar,” “getting wasted,” being drunk under a streetlight and kissing in downtown bars, being drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar, getting drunk “but it’s not enough,” and drunk crying in the back of the car coming from the bar.

Cockburn senses Swift is something of a wino, making reference in other songs to “a glass of wine,” “cheap wine,” “rosé flowing,” “cheap-ass screw-top rosé,” “merlot on his mouth,” “priceless wine,” “a bottle of wine,” “the wine,” “my husband’s wine,” “a wine-stained dress,” and “cold wine.”

In Midnights, the drinking continues, with songs about “liquor in our cocktails,” “one drink after another,” and “my fourth drink in my hand.”

This latest offering is Swift all over — sentimental, inventive, memorable, and, as Cockburn’s colleague Alexander Larman labels it, “a bright spot in a bland music industry.” There’s something more brooding, introspective, and self-deprecating about Swift’s lyrics this time around, though, with the songstress admitting to “falling apart” and reflecting on the stress of fame’s constant scrutiny.

Alcohol is a well-known recourse for creative types, and though Cockburn doesn’t encourage it as a solution to life’s challenges, he can hardly blame Swift if she is wont to overindulge now and then.

Anthony Albanese sparks outrage after PM ‘shakes it off’ at Taylor Swift concert

Anthony Albanese has sparked outrage after attending a Taylor Swift concert and private Katy Perry show while Aussies struggle with a cost of living crisis.

A post on X showed the Prime Minister at Friday night’s Taylor Swift show in Sydney, dancing awkwardly in between his son Nathan and fiancee Jodie Haydon.

The post, headlined ‘Great Job! Albo is a Swiftie, and Australians are getting poorer’ was followed by a litany of abuse for Mr Albanese.

Though, that didn’t put him off flying to Melbourne on Saturday to attend a private concert by Katy Perry at billionaire Anthony Pratt’s mansion.

The Prime Minister was among a crowd of around 200 of Australia’s business and political elites, with the notable absence of Woolworths CEO Brad Banducci, who pulled out after scrutiny of alleged price gouging.

One poster under the footage of Mr Albanese dancing at the Taylor Swift show commented on his ‘body language’.

‘He’s not comfortable, bouncing because the others are, then the guy next to him (his son, Nathan) is more subdued, as so does Ablo (sic) Our PM.

‘Concerned about how he is looking I wonder if he knows he’s being filmed?’

Others were more directly abusive, such as the poster who wrote: ‘Don’t even know how this guy got to pm. This guy is just there to have much fun as possible whilst he’s there and spend tax payers money.

‘What has he solved. He’s made life miserable for all Australians since he got there. Leave this country and live somewhere else and stop leeching from the people.’

Another added: ‘Australians are suffering price increases in supermarkets, energy, transport, etc… @AlboMP is on vacation.’

Mr Albanese defended his attendance at the Swift show in Sydney, telling Weekend Sunrise on Sunday that ‘at a time where there’s so much turmoil in the world, one of the reasons why Taylor Swift’s tour has been such a success is it’s so positive’.

‘It’s so uplifting, and that is her message … And she’s a very welcome visitor here. And her message of female empowerment is, I think, a positive one,’ he said.

‘And secondly, as well, it’s been pretty good for the economy as well. Good for jobs and good for economic activity. So, that’s always welcome as well.’

The Prime Minister also appeared on Weekend Today and praised Swift’s talents, saying ‘she’s a great songwriter. I think she’s a great lyricist’.

‘I think she’s in the genre of Joni Mitchell and people who’ve come before her in writing in ways that people can really relate to,’ he said.

When asked about going to the secret Perry show on Sunday, Mr Albanese said that was not his primary reason for attending the function at Mr Pratt’s mansion.

‘I gave a speech last night at the food and beverage annual dinner,’ he said.

‘Last year that was held in Sydney. This year was held here in Melbourne. It’s an annual event and it’s an opportunity to talk to manufacturers …

‘The good news that I got last night from many of the businesses was that they’re expanding their operations. That means more jobs here and it means our economy is more resilient here as well.’

Not all of the online commentary on Mr Albanese attending major pop concerts was negative, though.

One poster used it as an opportunity to attack the previous PM. ‘Scomo isn’t prime minister any more. We have a real one now,’ they wrote.

  • Barry Keoghan as John Lennon? Who Sam Mendes should cast in his Beatles movies

Barry Keoghan as John Lennon? Who Sam Mendes should cast in his Beatles movies

Just when we were getting sick of the Marvel Cinematic Universe … Sam Mendes comes along with the Beatles Cinematic Universe. It’s a quartet of interlocking movies about the Fab Four, each centred on one band member, and with the fascinating promise of overlaps and POV shifts, perhaps inspired by Lucas Belvaux’s triple-decker Trilogy pictures or Joao Canijo’s mirror image films Bad Living and Living Bad. Mendes’s moptop movies may tag quadrilaterally around key moments … Shea Stadium, the Maureen Cleave interview, Lennon’s death? But who to cast? Here is my fantasy lineup.

    Barry Keoghan as John Lennon

    Barry Keoghan and John Lennon.

Keoghan has already played a scouser in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn, and showed us his dance moves to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder on the Dancefloor (although Lennon, in fact the Beatles generally, were not dancers as such). The fully nude album cover for Two Virgins should, come to think of it, be no problem either. Keoghan would be excellent at Lennon’s cheeky and insolent grin, with the fierce scepticism, insubordination and the radicalism. His capacity for innocent open-faced guile would have a special complication in the granny specs, and the gradually lengthening hair would create a new gravitas and opaque quality. For Aunt Mimi it would possibly be Emily Watson and for Yoko I’m thinking Tōko Miura from Ryu Hamaguchi’s Drive My Car (but not just because of that film’s title).

    Leo Woodall as Paul McCartney

Let it be … Leo Woodall and Paul McCartney. Composite: Zoe McConnell, Getty

Woodall is shattering hearts all over the country with his performance as Dexter in the Netflix version of David Nicholls’ One Day, opposite the excellent Ambika Mod. This casting – Leo would need a dark wig – would tap into the vulnerability combined with ambition that he showed in One Day. But it would also connect with the sly steel that McCartney always had and which Woodall gave us as the lairy and laddish Jack in the second season of the luxury-hotel satire The White Lotus. He would be great opposite Keoghan in the scene where Paul meets John for the first time at the Liverpool church fete in 1957, where Lennon was playing with his skiffle combo the Quarrymen. Boyish Leo/Paul meets tough Barry/John and there is bromance meet-cute electricity. (The Paul and John films could singly play the same scene from reverse angles of course.) For Linda I’m thinking Florence Pugh and for some scenes in Abbey Road where everyone starts quarrelling, it could be Dominic West as George Martin.

    Finn Wolfhard as George Harrison

Finn Wolfhard and George Harrison. Got my mind set on you … Finn Wolfhard and George Harrison. Composite: Getty

Canadian star Finn Wolfhard can do the baby-faced quality, the weirdly almost unformed innocence that defines the Beatles in their early years but could also do the watchful detachment and also injured resentment that complicates the George persona, as he had to see his creative contribution overlooked in favour of the Lennon/McCartney double-act. Wolfhard is also in a band himself: initially the Canadian indie rock group Calpurnia and then the Aubreys. The Stranger Things star, playing Mike, started that show as innocent and ingenuous but also as a natural leader who grew to be a more complicated figure as the drama progressed, and this is the energy he would need to play George Harrison. For the sensational love-triangle heartbreak of his later years, I’m thinking Anya Taylor-Joy as Pattie Boyd and Will Poulter as Eric Clapton.

    Harry Melling as Ringo Starr

Harry Melling and Ringo Starr. Don’t let me down … Harry Melling and Ringo Starr. Composite: Getty

Ringo has the capability to steal this whole four-movie spectacle from under the noses of everyone else, and Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley from the Harry Potter films) is the actor to upstage everyone: he can play comedy and drama and he can play the bad guy or the misunderstood good guy. As Ringo, Melling could put across the pathos of his early years of illness and educational disadvantage – the years when he got a life-changing copy of the song Bedtime for Drums on his own sickbed. Melling could portray a deadpan insouciance from behind the drum kit, but he could amusingly fabricate Ringo’s wacky performance in the movie Help!, in the various black-and-white pastiche sequences, opposite Ian McKellen as Wilfrid Brambell.

    Robert Pattinson as Pete Best

Robert Pattinson and Pete Best. A day in the life … Robert Pattinson and Pete Best. Composite: Getty

This could be a short film to precede each of the main four, with Pattinson as Pete Best, walking moodily and wordlessly around the rainy streets of Hamburg for three minutes in a leather jacket.

Paul McCartney has revealed the inspiration behind the lyric “I said something wrong” in the Beatles hit Yesterday

Beatles singer says the line harks back to time he embarrassed his mother for ‘talking posh’

Sir Paul McCartney on stage with a guitar

Paul McCartney has revealed the inspiration behind the lyric “I said something wrong” in the Beatles hit Yesterday.

McCartney said the line may have been subconsciously inspired by a moment when he mocked his mother for sounding “posh”.

Many assume the lyric, “I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday”, is about the break-up of a relationship.

McCartney, however, explained on his A Life in Lyrics podcast that the lyric may actually relate to a conversation in which he embarrassed his mother.

He said: “Sometimes it’s only in retrospect you can appreciate it. I remember very clearly one day feeling very embarrassed because I embarrassed my mum.

“We were out in the backyard and she talked posh. She was of Irish origin and she was a nurse, so she was above street level.

“So she had something sort of going for her, and she would talk what we thought was a little bit posh. And it was a little bit Welshy as well – she had connections, her auntie Dilys was Welsh.

“I know that she said something like ‘Paul, will you ask him if he’s going … ’

“I went ‘Arsk! Arsk! It’s ask mum.’ And she got a little bit embarrassed. I remember later thinking ‘God, I wish I’d never said that’. And it stuck with me. After she died I thought ‘Oh fuck, I really wish … ’”

McCartney wrote the song when he was 24, almost a decade after his mother, Mary, died of cancer.

Yesterday (With Spoken Word Intro / Live From Studio 50, New York City / 1965) - YouTube

Yesterday was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1997 and voted the number one pop song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and MTV in 2000.

The song is also one of the most covered songs in the history of recorded music with 2,200 versions.

McCartney has previously said the death of his mother helped him express his sense of loss.

He said: “It may be that there is so much tumbled into your youth and your formative years that you can’t appreciate it all.

“I’ve got a couple of those little things that I know that people would forgive me, because they’re not big things – they’re little things – but they’re little things that I just think, ‘If I could just take a rubber, just rub that moment out it would be better’.

“And when she died, I wonder, ‘I said something wrong’, are we harking back to that crazy little thing.

“So I don’t know. Does this happen? Do you find yourself unconsciously putting songs into girl lyrics [about a lost lover] that are really your dead mother? I suspect it might be true. It sort of fits, if you look at the lyrics.”

McCartney’s podcast explores the inspiration behind the singer’s songwriting with the poet Paul Muldoon over two seasons and 24 episodes.
