Taylor Swift attended her 11th Kansas City Chiefs game on Jan. 21 to support boyfriend Travis Kelce as his team faced off against the Buffalo Bills in a playoff game, and he was sure to show her how much her support meant.

When Travis scored a touchdown pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes during the second quarter of the game, the camera showed the tight end blowing a kiss and holding up a hand heart towards where the Grammy winner watched the game from a suite.

The 34-year-old would go on to score a second touchdown, with the Chiefs ultimately winning over the Bills in a 27-24 game.

And Travis had extra reason to show that corner of the stadium some extra love: Taylor was joined in the luxury suite by Travis’ brother Jason Kelce, his sister-in-law Kylie Kelce, as well as his parents Donna Kelce and Ed Kelce.

And when Travis did send his box of loved ones the hand heart, Jason was sure to show exactly what it means to come from the City of Brotherly Love. After Travis’ first touchdown, the Philadelphia Eagles player took off his shirt in an epic celebration—a red shirt that bore Travis’ nickname “Big Yeti.”.

Jason’s attendance comes six days after the Eagles lost to the Tampa Bay buccaneers, losing their shot at this year’s Super Bowl. But despite speculation that Jason was going to use the moment to publicly announce his retirement, he has not shared any such information at this time.

In fact, on the Jan. 17 episode of his and Travis’ New Heights podcast, the 36-year-old said of possible retirement plans, “When it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career I’ve had.”

The 34-year-old pop megastar took to her TikTok on Monday night to share a funny video of herself cringing while her 34-year-old Super Bowl champion boyfriend partied with her parents Andrea and Scott.

The hilarious video begins with Travis sticking his tongue out before Taylor pans to the packed nightclub shortly after leading his Kansas City Chiefs to victory over the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22, in Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium.

She then turns the camera onto her parents who are sitting comfortably in the bottle service area while her dad Scott takes a swig from a can.

Finally Taylor turns the camera onto herself as she cringes before pursing her lips and looks away from the camera.

The hitmaker captioned the fun video to her 24.4million followers: ‘accidentally going clubbing with your parents is something everyone should try at least once in their life.’

Adding to the hilarity of the video is that Ludacris’ very raunchy 1999 track What’s Your Fantasy is playing in the background.

No doubt it was an awkward experience for the new couple as the Atlanta-based rapper’s chorus went: ‘I wanna, li-li-li-lick you from your head to your toes / And I wanna, move from the bed down to the, down to the, to the flo’ / Then I wanna, “Ahh ahh, ” you make it so good I don’t wanna leave / But I gotta kn-kn-kn-know, what-what’s your fan-ta-ta-sy.’

Taylor’s fans flooded the comments of the video including one who celebrating Travis making his debut on her social media.

They wrote: ‘YES TRAVIS IS OFFICALLY ON THE TAYLOR SWIFT ACCOUNT’

The New York DJ-duo closed out the night with a version of You Belong with Me, with Kelce leading the crowd and turning to his better half during the eponymous line while pointing to himself.

Another angle showed Swift pointing back at Kelce, while dancing awkwardly to her 2008 song and raising a cocktail.

Shortly afterwards, the house lights dropped and the song became a techno remix with the VIP attendees bouncing along.

Before their celebratory smooch, Swift and Kelce were captured jumping up and down as they sung the lyric, ‘You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess,’ to one another.

The lovebirds had arrived at the Las Vegas nightclub with Swift wearing her tight end boyfriend’s black sparkly jacket over her shoulders.

It was a fitting ending to Chiefs Kingdom’s fairytale season, given Swift and Kelce’s love story has dominated headlines and games.

In several clips shared to social media, the nightclub can be seen packed with thousands of Chiefs fans celebrating the victory with the reigning champions while a remix of Swift’s 2008 hit ‘You Belong With Me’ plays.

The tight end, who had nine receptions for 93 yards and zero touchdowns in the Chiefs’ thrilling 25-22 overtime win, could be seen in a DJ booth dancing to his girlfriend’s song.

Kelce led the crowd and turned to his better half during the eponymous line while pointing to himself.

The team had initially kickstarted their celebrations at Zouk but around 2am local time, The Chainsmokers’ Alex Patell posted a photo showing the group piling into a private jet on the tarmac in Vegas. ‘Let’s go home,’ the caption read.

However, Kelce and co. kept the party going as they headed over to XS Nightclub at around 2.15am.

They were greeted to an over-the-top welcome which included oversized signage and LED screens that read ‘XS welcomes 2024 champs,’ red and yellow confetti flying in the air, and Queen’s popular song ‘We Are The Champions’ blasting throughout the speakers.

DJ Marshmello performed with Mahomes and Kelce seen jumping around on stage with the famed masked artist, with a bottle of champagne in hand, singing and dancing as fans cheered them on.

Mahomes and wife Brittany left around 3.30am but Kelce and Swift continued the celebrations until dawn, eating chicken fingers and fries in the VIP section until 5.15am.

Swift had raced back from Japan to make it to the Super Bowl after playing four straight nights of her Eras Tour in Tokyo this week.

Given she starts a tour of Australia next weekend in Melbourne, she is not anticipated to hang around too late into the night as the Chiefs celebrate making history.

Shortly before the team made it to The Strip, Kelce led the celebrations in the Chiefs locker room at Allegiant Stadium after their dramatic overtime triumph.

Speculation is rampant that Taylor Swift is expecting a baby with new found partner Travis after she was spotted with a prominent stomach bulge on Thursday evening (October , 2023), during romantic dinner date nearby her place.

Another source revealed that “she TWICE made toasts … by drinking water instead of wine,” adding that it is “highly unusual” to “toast with anything but a full glass of wine.” (In case you weren’t aware, pregnant ladies aren’t supposed to drink alcohol.)

For those mulling over their prop bets for Super Bowl Sunday, one item seems to be a virtual certainty: At some point, Taylor Swift—musician, stadium-filling megastar and cat lover—will appear on your screen during the Big Game.

Memes expressing annoyance at shots of Swift popping up during NFL broadcasts have spread across the internet. Some politicians and pundits, meanwhile, have suggested that the entire relationship may be a conspiracy to boost the odds of Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

Jamie Skerski is a former college athlete and associate chair for undergraduate studies in the Department of Communication at CU Boulder. She’s teaching a course this semester titled “Communication, Culture and Sport,” which examines how sports can hold a mirror up to racial and gender politics and other values in the U.S.

Skerski gave CU Boulder Today her take on why some football fans have turned anti the “Anti-Hero” singer—and, to borrow a line from the musician herself, whether they just “need to calm down.”

“What lessons are dads teaching their daughters, and sons, when they react with such disdain?” Skerski said. “They are teaching the Swifties in their life that their interests don’t matter. That a woman who is wildly talented, successful and adored by millions should be demeaned rather than celebrated.”

This seems like a classic love story. Have reactions to her game-day appearances surprised you?
You literally have Travis Kelce, the tight end, and Taylor Swift, who is the equivalent of the homecoming queen—the popular girl and the football player. This is Americana. And yet there’s still this backlash to her being shown on TV.

Why do you think that is?
I think it harkens back to the way we have been taught to dismiss or devalue things that are associated with femininity—whether that be romantic comedies, fashion, love songs.

When people get angry about a 26-second clip of Taylor Swift at a football game, it reminds me of those signs on a treehouse that say, “No girls allowed.” This is a space for masculine values, bonding and friendship, and we don’t want any of the girl stuff to interfere.

Is Taylor Swift actually a distraction for the NFL?
Military flyovers, cheerleaders, the commercials for trucks and beer, those are all distractions to the game. Players being carted off on a stretcher are a distraction. The displays of nationalism and military propaganda are distractions. But those distractions are meant for those viewers.

Taylor Swift represents empowerment for girls and women. She’s about connection and inclusion, not division and competition. Taylor Swift is almost like a fly in their pudding.

Why do you think some on the political right are reacting with such vitriol to Swift?
Politically, they are afraid of the mobilization of the Swifties. I can already see the T-shirts and friendship bracelets that say, “Make America Great Again: Taylor’s Version.”

Is she known for being a particularly political celebrity?
Swift has been vocal about issues in the past. She’s spoken up about LGBTQ rights, racial injustice and women’s reproductive rights, and I expect her to be vocal on these issues as we get closer to the election.

I also think she knows that an endorsement, like endorsing a presidential candidate, is a different genre. It wields a different kind of power. I suspect that she will wield that power very carefully.

Does Swift face different risks than male celebrities who speak out about politics?
There’s a paradox because we hear a lot of people say, ‘Taylor Swift should keep out of politics.’ It’s like when people told LeBron James and other Black athletes who were standing up for racial injustice to ‘shut up and dribble.’

And yet, at the same time, she is facing such pressure to make a statement about the election. She has to walk a very fine line. It’s representative of how we expect women to be perfect at all times. It’s impossible to do.

What is your own history with sports?
I grew up as an athlete, and I went to college on a softball scholarship. I’m able to understand the hype, the devotion, the commitment. We can get absorbed in a game, and it allows us to be present for a moment. It is a moment of Zen.

At the same time, I also understand that everything that’s going on in sport is reflective of things happening in politics, education and other industries. That balance allows me to help my students look at sport as a microcosm for critically examining other institutions, cultures and organizations.

What do you hope will happen on Super Bowl Sunday?
This is an opportunity for fathers and boyfriends to connect with their daughters and the women in their lives and say, ‘What is it about Taylor Swift?’ Instead of demeaning it, it’s a chance for connection.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce only began dating in the summer but already speculation among fans over whether they’ll get engaged is reaching fever pitch.

The rumors reached their peak as Kelce prepared for the Kansas City Chiefs to take home the Super Bowl Ring– and some fans hoped the athlete would have a ring of his own for Swift following the win.

Why is there a rush to see Swift and Kelce get married?

The public’s relationship with Swift’s relationship
Swift is not the only celebrity to have faced excited fans looking for a wedding sooner than later. Swift and Kelce are both 34, and neither have been engaged or married yet. But fans have closely followed Swift’s relationships since she was a teenager and have been there for the dating and the breakups.

“The eternally optimist in me is saying that consumers idealize marriage and want the best for the celebrities,” said Kate Kurtin, a professor of communication studies at California State University in Los Angeles, via email. “The cynic in me is saying that consumers feel an entitlement to know details about celebrities’ lives and ‘get the scoop’ and see all the pictures and marriage is the next demand they are placing on Swift and Kelce.”

When celebrities break up, especially Swift, fans tend to take it hard. That’s particularly true for those in a parasocial relationship with the star. That’s a one-sided relationship with a celebrity that is not a friendship but can feel like one, Kurtin said, who has studied the phenomenon.

Fans who are in a parasocial relationship dynamic tend to be more invested in the relationship than a casual fan, as they are following more closely and keeping up with the articles, photos and videos.

“They are happy for her, just like they would be if their interpersonal friend seems to be happy in a new relationship,” Kurtin said.

The honeymoon phase explained
The couple is still in their “honeymoon phase,” a new relationship where the individuals see one another through “rose-colored glasses,” said Katherine Sloan, a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Asheville, North Carolina, who has been following the star’s relationship.

During the initial stages of a happy relationship, the brain experiences a flooding of neurotransmitters that create pleasure responses, such as dopamine and oxytocin, Sloan said. “We don’t see the red flags, we are just so elated, that, you know, we’re in love with somebody, we don’t notice the nuances that are later going to come up.”

Big decisions like marriage and when to have children are not ones to be taken lightly, yet the pressure only seems to increase after someone reaches their 30s, she added.

Kelce had responded to the questions of marriage from the media with poise, but it can be trickier when the question is coming from family and friends. What’s more, pressure about marriage can put pressure on the couple, Sloan said.

How to handle pressure to get married
The best way to handle the intrusive questions is to set clear boundaries about what topics are open for discussion and which ones are best to be avoided.

“We can be clear about what conversations are and aren’t allowed with other people,” Sloan said. “We can tell our family or friends like, ‘Hey, I’m feeling pressured. And I need time to make sure that I’m really compatible with this person.’”

It is important to have good communication with your partner and understand how they may feel about the pressure, as well as how to answer questions together going forward.

As for Swift and Kelce, they are the only ones who can see what goes on behind closed doors within their relationship.

“I think people are just so invested in it, because people have watched her grow up and have seen her struggle with relationships and want to see her happy,” Sloan said. “And hopefully, this will be it. Hopefully, this is the one. But we don’t know.”

And while fans are longing to see that fairy tale wedding for Swift, and as many people do for their friends and family, the question of marriage is only for the partners to discuss, Sloan said.

As Swift might say, you (and we) need to calm down.
