Harry Styles’ goddaughter Ruby Winston is barely in elementary school, but she’s already got a hit single under her belt.

The “Watermelon Sugar” singer featured his friend, Ben Winston’s, daughter on his hit track, “As It Was,” in 2022. The now-7-year-old is the voice behind the opening words, “Come on Harry, we want to say goodnight to you!”

“She used to try and call me before bedtime every night so one time I don’t know, it didn’t ring or something, and she sent me that and I dug it out at some point while we were in the studio and put it in front of the song for some reason. I just fell in love with it and it stuck,” Styles told Capital FM in April 2022.

The fame even went a little to Ruby’s head, he joked. “She was asking for a big fee,” Styles said.

Ruby is the elder daughter of Winston, the executive producer of shows from The Late Late Show with James Corden to the Grammy Awards and Hulu’s The Kardashians. He and Styles met in the mid-2010s and have been close friends for years, so much so that Winston and his wife Meredith named Styles as Ruby’s godfather.

From being featured on his track to her family, here’s everything to know about Harry Styles’ goddaughter, Ruby Winston.

    She was born in 2016

Ruby was born on Dec. 5, 2016, to Winston and Meredith. The producer announced her birth on Instagram with a simple black-and-white photo of him cuddling with newborn Ruby.

“Hey Ruby,” he wrote in the caption.

Styles and Winston first became friends over a decade ago during Styles’ One Direction days. Winston worked on a few 1D videos and also produced their documentary film, This is Us, and the pair have been pals ever since.

“Traveling and working with those 5 brilliant boys was such an amazing privilege. Loved every minute of that life changing time,” Winston wrote in an Instagram caption to commemorate the band’s 10th anniversary.

Styles even lived in Winston’s attic in suburban London for over a year, per Rolling Stone.

“That period of time, he was living with us in the most mundane suburban situation. No one ever found out, really,” Winston said of their living arrangement. “Even when we went out for a meal, it’s such a sweet family neighborhood, no one dreamed it was actually him. But he made our house a home. And when he moved out, we were gutted.”

Ruby’s most notable contribution to Styles’ discography is her adorable intro for “As It Was,” Styles’ big hit off his third album, Harry’s House. The song opens with a child’s voice saying, “Come on Harry, we want to say goodnight to you!”

Styles has told the story a few times, saying that the voice memo organically made its way onto the song.

“She had a streak of calling me every night,” the musician told Heart Radio in April 2022 of what was going on behind the scenes of the now-famous snippet. “I missed it one night and she wanted to let me know that she was quite angry with me.”

Her dad later revealed in a January 2023 interview with Entertainment Weekly that the voice recording happened in a rather private location.

“I find it very moving whenever I hear that record — and the fact that it’s the biggest record of last year, the No. 1 streamed record — and it’s my little girl sitting on the toilet because that’s where she was when she recorded it,” he said.

Given that her dad is the executive producer of the music awards ceremony, some thought Ruby might make a cameo with her godfather to perform her now-iconic lines at the 2023 Grammy Awards. However, Winston quickly shut that idea down.

“What I can tell you is that if Ruby Winston is asked to perform, she 100 percent will. However, I will never allow that to happen,” Winston told EW before the show. “As much as she would love it, it’s never going to happen.”

Though she may not understand how famous the song is now, Ruby’s dad said he’s looking forward to the day when she will fully comprehend she was featured on a hit song at just 5 years old.

“It’s a really lovely thing that will always be a lovely thing for her,” he said. “And I don’t think she really understands it yet, but one day when she’s 25, she’ll realize that’s the coolest thing ever.”

    She is a big sister

Ruby became a big sister on Oct. 10, 2019, when Grace was born, Winston announced on Instagram.

“Spending my birthday with the greatest gift I’ve ever got,” Winston wrote alongside a photo of him with both of his daughters. “Grace Winston was born on Thursday. I think she’s pretty great. I’m outnumbered by 3 incredible women.”

Hollywood Has A Problem With Making Films On The Beatles That Still Don’t Seem To Understand

With 4 Beatles movies set to be made, we have to wonder if it’s too much

    Highlights

Director Sam Mendes is taking on the challenge of creating 4 separate interconnected Beatles films, a bold move sure to stir up buzz.
While Mendes’ past success is impressive, modern audiences are more selective, raising concerns about the films finding their desired success.
The studio plan of releasing all 4 films in the same year comes with risks, as it’s questionable whether audiences would be willing to invest in each Beatle’s story.

Biopics are more prevalent than ever in Hollywood, and these movies have a way of netting critical acclaim, as well as solid box office returns. When done well, they can take the world by storm, but they can also cause some problems. Nevertheless, studios are willing to roll the dice on them, with the hope that money and Oscars are within reach.

The Beatles are the biggest and greatest musical act of all time, and word has spread that the Fab Four are getting their own films. In fact, 4 movies are being made, one for each of them, in what is sure to be a much-discussed strategy by the studio.

Let’s take a look at the announcement, and why this could be a disaster for the studio.

Four Beatles Movies Are Going To Be Made In The Coming Years, But Audiences Are More Selective About Spending Money At The Box Office

The Beatles shown in Washington D.C.

All you need is love, and 4 separate Beatles films.

According to multiple sources, it has been announced that director, Sam Mendes, will be the man behind 4 separate Beatles films in the coming years.

“Director Sam Mendes plans to make four separate movies, one from each Beatles member’s point of view. They will intersect to “tell the astonishing story of the greatest band in history,” leading up to their 1970 breakup, according to a press release. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of the late John Lennon and George Harrison have granted full life story and music rights for,” Variety reports.

That’s right, the Fab Four are getting their own interconnected movies. It’s a bold decision by the studio, and perhaps this would work much, much better as a miniseries. That said, The Beatles continue to print money, so maybe it’s time to strike while that iron is still burning hot.

“I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” Mendes said.

For the unfamiliar, Sam Mendes is as good as it gets in the directing department. The man is responsible for movies like American Beauty, Road to Perdition, 1917, and multiple James Bond films, including Skyfall and Spectre.

Now, is this too much for the average moviegoer? Studios are willing to roll the dice from time to time, and biopics have proven lucrative. Bohemian Rhapsody, for instance, was a monumental success, that even landed Rami Malek an Oscar for his turn as Freddie Mercury in the film. However, with audiences being more selective than ever, even with major franchises, it’s hard to imagine that all four of these pictures will find the success that the studio wants.

Fandom only goes so far, and while many love the band, how many people are willing to shell out their hard-earned pay for a Ringo Starr movie?

The studio, however, is keen on using what they’ve referred to as “innovative and groundbreaking.” They plan on releasing all 4 films in the same year.

Again, a miniseries might have been the way to go here.

Interestingly, the band already has a history on the big screen, so it’s worth tracking how those films fared.

    The Beatles

The Beatles Made Multiple Films During Their Prime, But Even Then, They Weren’t A Guaranteed Hit

The Beatles portrait shown in Sir Ringo Starr's 2022 book

The band’s first movie, A Hard Day’s Night, was a critical and commercial success upon release in 1964. In fact, the film is still highly-regarded by many, and it’s one that many movie fans seek out.

Help! was not nearly as loved, but the film was still a success in its own right. It is legitimately over-the-top hilarious at points, and it did a lot in the way of pioneering music videos, which would take a few decades to really seep into the mainstream.

Magical Mystery Tour and Yellow Submarine weren’t quite on the same level as their predecessors, with the former being a critical disaster. The band was pivoting in an entirely different direction, and these films were a testament to that. They’re bizarre, but most Beatles fans have at least checked them out.

Let it Be was the band’s final film, and it was a documentation of things falling apart for the once mighty group. Things were bad when the film was assembled, and the band wasn’t interested in it seeing the light of day.

So, there is a history of success with Beatles films, but even at their peak, things were checkered. It’s a hard sell for modern audiences.

    George Harrison looking serious

The Fab Four’s 4 films are going to be an interesting thing to watch from an industry perspective. If the release is as groundbreaking as the studio is hinting, then we could see The Beatles reshape the film world, much like they did with the music world.

Dolly says it’s hard not to go overboard with cosmetic enhancements, but it looks like she’s stepping away from the spotlight for the time being.

She admits that going overboard with plastic surgery can result in complications and extended recovery times.
Dolly emphasizes the importance of finding the best doctors and being cautious not to overdo cosmetic procedures. She acknowledges the risks associated with going under the knife.

Dolly Parton is most famous for her music, but the singer’s looks come in at a close second, given that she’s been open about going under the knife throughout the decades. Recently, Dolly opened up about what cosmetic procedures she regrets and how she’d do things differently.

Dolly, 77, recently spoke to Saga Magazine where she emphasized her belief that there’s nothing wrong with cosmetic surgery. If she sees an imperfection, she doesn’t hesitate to alter it.

“If something is bagging, sagging or dragging, I’ll tuck it, suck it or pluck it,” the musician explained.

“Every now and then you’ll get a hematoma, or sometimes with fillers and Botox you can get too much and have to wait till the swelling goes down to look normal again,” Dolly added of going overboard. “It means that instead of being back at work in two weeks, it’s a month.”

Dolly made similar comments last month during an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show, where she admitted to the variety of work she’s had done to her face.
“I try to do just little bits at a time — I don’t do like really big stuff. I do fillers, Botox, Juvéderm,” she explained during the November interview . “Only when I have to do something a little more, and even then, I try to be careful.”
“I always say, ‘Just find the best doctors.’ You’ve just got to be very careful not to overdo it because you never know, anytime you go under the knife you could come out looking not good,” Dolly went on. “It’s always a risk and every time I go in for anything I think ‘Oh Lord, please let this all work out fine.’”

Dolly Wants To Focus On Her Husband Over Her Career

    Plastic Surgery Is Always A

Dolly’s comments on her appearance come amid reports that she’s planning to take a step ack from her music carer to focus on her husband amid his ailing health, a topic the singer didn’t cover during her recent interviews.

Last month, various reports claimed that Dolly’s long-time husband, Carl Dean, 81, had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. This neurodegenerative disorder is characterized by a variety of symptoms like memory loss, cognitive decline, and inability to perform daily tasks.

“Dolly has long been a fixture on the touring circuit, but as her husband’s health takes precedence, she has chosen to take a step back from the stage to focus on what matters most – family,” an insider claimed to National Enquirer.
“She wants to make sure they enjoy every last minute they have together,” they added.
Carl and Dolly have been married since 1966. Despite their decades-long union, the pair never had kids. In 2020, Dolly admitted she chose not to have a family to prioritize her career, as she doesn’t believe she would’ve found the same success had she had kids.

For now, Dolly hasn’t commented on the reports regarding her husband’s health.

The One Joke That Got Reba McEntire Booed Of The Stage

The One Joke That Got Reba McEntire Booed Of The Stage

Reba McEntire faced several awkward moments throughout her career with the likes of Dick Clark, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert.

    Highlights

Reba McEntire was booed off stage for a bad joke in the late ’70s, but she didn’t take it too seriously and handled the situation well.
Reba McEntire took a bold stance during her career by shading Miranda Lambert at the ACM Awards, but it’s unclear if it was intentional or not.

Getting booed can be a tough reality, especially for anyone’s self-esteem. However, there are certain individuals that managed to turn this into a positive. Take Dave Chappelle as an example who was booed but reacted in the best way possible. The comedian received boos early on in his career at the Apollo, but realized that the booing didn’t affect him one bit. That only furthered his confidence moving forward.

As for Stephen Colbert, well, the host has had controversial guests in the past who were booed on his show. The host handled the moment in the best way possible alongside Ted Cruz. However, some acts weren’t able to handle it as well, and that included Reba McEntire.

During her interview on the Late Show alongside Stephen Colbert, McEntire retold the story of his worst experience as a host during the late ’70s. The moment resulted in Reba getting booed off the stage for a lame joke. We’re going to take a look back at what went down during the awkward moment, and other difficult predicaments Reba was forced to deal with throughout her career.

Reba McEntire Told Stephen Colbert A Joke During Her Earlier Days Got Her Booed Off The Stage

During her interview alongside Stephen Colbert, Reba McEntire was asked if a hosting gig in the past ever went completely south. Although Reba hesitated to answer, she revealed that an awful joke during the late ’70s got her booed off the stage. It was a tough moment for Reba to handle, though she didn’t take the ordeal too seriously given that it was an awful joke.

So what was the joke the got Reba booed off stage, “Do you know the difference between unlawful and illegal?” she asked. “Unlawful means it’s against the law, and illegal is a sick bird.”

Get it, the ill eagle… Reba discussed the moment in the video below.

At the very least, she got a minor smile from Stephen Colbert, who might’ve appreciated the joke a lot more than others. Nonetheless, it wasn’t the only awkward circumstance Reba faced during her career. Another moment took place alongside some major company, Dick Clark and Keith Urban.

Reba McEntire Had Another Forgettable Experience On Stage With Keith Urban And Dick Clark

Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire

During this particular moment, Keith Urban could not find his guitar, which would case a massive delay to his performance. It was at this point that Dick Clark advised Reba McEntire to speak with the audience and make some time pass. However, the moment turned completely awkward after the audience just wasn’t responding to Reba.

“Well, I can tell a joke, I did get booed off stage one time in 1978 for telling a horrible joke, so…probably not a good idea to do that. So I went out there and said, ‘Are y’all having a good time?’ And it was just crickets.”

Thankfully, the awkwardness was all short-lived as Dick Clark came out to rescue the moment. Reba realized that the best way to go about was to be truthful with the crowd.

“Pretty soon here comes Dick Clark out there and put his arm around me and said, ‘All right, folks, we’re going to tell you what’s going on.’ He was just honest with the audience, and I said, ‘Hmmm, lesson learned from the professional.”

Despite the awkward moments from the past, Reba hasn’t necessarily avoided controversy and standing up for others. That was especially apparent during the feud between Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. Not only did Reba stick up for Shelton, but she also shaded Lambert during the moment.

Reba McEntire Took Another Bold Stance During Her Career Taking A Dig At Miranda Lambert

Reba had all the fans talking during The 2019 ACM Awards. We’ll never really know if it was purposely done, but lots of fans felt as though it was a dig at Miranda Lambert, given her feud with Blake Shelton at the time. McEntire said during Shelton’s intro, “I love this next performer for many reasons, he’s charming, funny, handsome, talented, sings like an angel, and always writes his own introductions. Give it up for my fellow Oklahoman and friend, Blake Shelton.”

    Miranda Lambert and husband

Fans were all over the situation, claiming that Reba had clearly shaded Lambert.

Mirana Lambert instead did not discuss these rumors, choosing to keep quiet. As for Reba, she didn’t specify on the moment either, and others suggest she was sticking up for all artists from Oklahoma.

Brandon Blackstock allegedly manipulated Kelly Clarkson’s deals, leading to a court ruling requiring him to reimburse her $2.6 million.

Kelly Clarkson has been careful about what she’s said about her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, though it was clearly messy given how many years it dragged out and the million-dollar payout Kelly had to make to Brandon despite having a prenup.

Now, Kelly’s former step-mother-in-law, who was married to Brandon’s father Narvel Blackstock, has made similar claims against her ex, which seemingly backs up the allegations Kelly has made.

During a recent appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Reba, 68, characterized her marriage as “a situation that was always business.”

“I think it works for some people. They can be married or have a relationship and work together. Our work was all the time,” she explained. “Our marriage was 26 years. We started out working together in the band. He was part of the band, and then became my manager, later on then my husband, but it was a situation that was always business — whether we were getting ready in the morning, pillow talk, whatever, but it was business.”
“Even when we were on vacation to recharge the batteries, about three days into a vacation it was like, ‘You know what we can do?’” Reba continued.
Reba tied the knot with Blackstock, 67, back in 1989, but the couple parted ways in 2015, with Blackstock reportedly receiving a substantial $47.5 million settlement (Reba’s reported net worth is $95 million). Their union bore one son, Shelby, while Narvel also has three children from a prior marriage, notably including Brandon Blackstock, who was previously married to Kelly Clarkson.

Kelly has similarly implied that Brandon was very money and business-oriented. As a talent manager himself, he helped negotiate some of her deals himself, including her successful stint on The Voice, even though Kelly has alleged Brandon once said she didn’t look good enough for television.

Clarkson’s divorce from Blackstock in 2021 concluded with a significant multimillion-dollar settlement favoring Blackstock. However, recent developments in December led to a reversal of fortune for Kelly, as a court ruling mandated her ex to reimburse her $2.6 million in commissions he allegedly withheld during their marriage.

Right before the holidays, a California labor commissioner determined that Brandon owes Kelly $2,641,374 in commissions, purportedly garnered while serving as her manager. Legal documents revealed Brandon’s involvement in negotiating lucrative brand deals and career opportunities for Clarkson. Despite his purportedly higher earnings from some of these deals, Brandon purportedly pocketed a booking fee.

The legal saga between Brandon and Kelly, which ensued for nearly two years following her 2020 divorce filing, involved contentious disputes over property and custody of their children. Kelly eventually secured primary custody of their kids, while Brandon received visitation rights. To settle the divorce, the American Idol star agreed to a one-time payment of $1.3 million to Brandon and committed to paying him $115,000 monthly in spousal support until January 2024, which Kelly just stopped paying months ago.

  • At age 99, Aaron Judge defies age, securing number one spot in MLB The Show 24 Live Series ratings

At age 99, Aaron Judge defies age, securing number one spot in MLB The Show 24 Live Series ratings

The best of the best in the diamond market deserve their diamond rating. MLB The Show 24 announced its player ratings for Live Series players today, and only a few have received this honor this year.

New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge, two-way slugger, pitcher and two-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, and Atlanta Braves slugger/speedster Ronald Acuña Jr. highlight the select members of the 99 Club in this year’s edition from forth The show when it comes to Live Series cards.

Aaron Judge, coming off another strong year in MLB, highlights the 99 Club this season. Judge missed time due to a freak foot injury, but still hit 37 home runs and 75 RBI in just 106 games, establishing himself as a star in the league.

It’s important to note that Ohtani won’t be pitching at all in 2024, is relegated to hitting exclusively after elbow surgery, and still has a 99 rating. That’s how good this guy is and along with his new teammate and 99 Club member Mookie Betts gives the Los Angeles Dodgers a powerhouse at the top of their lineup.

99-rated players are always a hot commodity in the game’s market, and you can be sure that these special Live Series cards will be hard to come by, especially in the first few weeks of the season. Players can either open packs and hope to obtain them, or purchase them with stubs at high prices on the marketplace.

Live series ratings fluctuate throughout the season, but here is the full list of all 99 club members MLB The Show 24’s Live series to start the year.

BP for QB? Mayfield takes swings with Yanks

TAMPA, Fla. — No stranger to throwing deep at his day job, free-agent NFL quarterback Baker Mayfield stopped by Yankees camp to try his hand at going deep.

In front of an audience that included Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, Mayfield jumped into the batting cage for a round before Thursday’s Grapefruit League game against the Tigers, launching a few solid drives that landed in the George M. Steinbrenner Field outfield.

“Good-looking swing, for sure,” said Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe, who attended a Tampa Bay Lightning game with Mayfield in January. “A lot of contact.”

Tristan Wirfs, an offensive lineman and teammate of Mayfield with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, also took a round of BP with the team. Mayfield and Wirfs both left the stadium with personalized bats signed by Judge, a souvenir of their big league moment.

“I’m a little rusty, as you could tell,” Mayfield told the YES Network. “It’s awesome getting to meet some of these guys. I’m a big baseball fan, so meeting some of these guys in person and watching them up close in batting practice, it’s special.”

Mayfield, 28, said baseball was actually his favorite sport while growing up in Austin, Texas.

“I’ll say this: it’s always fun to talk about the opposite sports, and the dreams we had of playing the other sports,” Mayfield said. “Their hand-eye coordination is truly elite. I couldn’t track some of these balls coming in that fast.”

Drafted by the Cleveland Browns first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, Mayfield signed a one-year contract with the Bucs this past March. He guided Tampa Bay to a 9-8 record and a first-round playoff upset of the Philadelphia Eagles and received his first Pro Bowl selection.

“It was an unbelievable year,” Mayfield said. “Truly, the group we had is what made it really special. It started out decent and we had a really bad lull there in midyear, but the group we had stuck together, so that’s what made it really special. Obviously, winning cures a lot of things.”

  • Yankees’ Gold Glove-level infielder is facing the stark reality of another demotion

Yankees’ Gold Glove-level infielder is facing the stark reality of another demotion

The Yankees know what Oswald Peraza could become if he reaches his potential.

Now 23 years old and having battled a few injuries the past few seasons, Peraza is eyeing a spot on the active roster, even if it means featuring as the team’s primary infield utility man. However, his performance this spring has been inconsistent, which certainly doesn’t suggest he’s ready to make the transition to the MLB full-time.

Peraza has been fighting his way through the minors since 2017 and has desperately wanted to become a Yankee, but his inconsistencies at peak moments have set him back significantly.

Having just dealt with a shoulder issue last week, Peraza was re-injected into the lineup on Wednesday, but he was unable to get anything going. Over two at-bats, Peraza failed to get on base, having struck out four times over seven at-bats this off-season, suggesting he still needs plenty more reps and experience to start scratching the surface of his upside. However, there’s no doubting his desire and work ethic.

“It has always been my dream to play with the Yankees,” Peraza told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday. “This is the team that I love and that I grew up loving. I have this opportunity in front of me and I’m trying to do the best that I can, improving on and off the field as a person and player so that I can be up here playing in the big leagues.”

The Yankees Simply Need to Keep Feeding Peraza At-Bats

The Yankees have struggled to give Peraza the time needed to develop his skills at the MLB level. Back in 2022, when he made his MLB debut, he played 18 games before spending 63 games last year in Triple-A.

He played 52 games with the Yankees down the stretch, hitting .191/.267/.272, but all they saw was a player heading in the wrong direction offensively. He struggled to develop an identity in that regard, and having failed to pick up a hit this spring training and posting a -55 wRC+, those issues don’t seem to be trending any better.

“I want to be consistent,” Peraza said. “We’re always searching to be as consistent as we can at the plate. I know I can do it, I know I have the ability to do it.”

For now, the Yankees could consider him their primary utility man because of his Gold Gove-level acumen, but if injuries start to arise and he struggles offensively, they may have no choice but to call up a prospect like Jorbit Viva or acquire a veteran that can help supplement several positions with average offensive upside.

Fortunately, Peraza will have a few more weeks to recover his flow and put together some good offensive performances, hopefully regaining some confidence and instilling some in the coaching staff.
