Five fights Anthony Joshua could take next including long-awaited grudge rematch as he awaits Tyson Fury showdown

ANTHONY JOSHUA is well and truly back in the heavyweight title picture.

The Watford warrior continued his career resurgence early on Sunday morning with a ferocious finish of Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua, 34, knocked the former UFC heavyweight champion out cold in the second round with a hellacious overhand right moments after a beautiful knockdown that came courtesy of a right-hand left-hook combination.

Attention has now turned to who AJ will face next following his demolition of Ngannou, with fans clamouring for him to fight Brit rival Tyson Fury.

But The Gypsy King has the small matter of undisputed and unified title fights with former pound-for-pound king Oleksandr Usyk to think about before the long-overdue Battle of Britain can come to fruition.

Former two-time unified champion Joshua could very well choose to sit and wait for the winner of the Fury vs Usyk series.

But given the fact he’s found his groove with four fights in 11 months, it’s likely he won’t want to sit and twiddle his thumbs on the sidelines.

So with that in mind, SunSport thought it’d only be right to reveal the five fighters in contention to be his next opponent.

    Filip Hrgovic

Croatian clubber Filip Hrgovic is currently the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title in possession of Usyk.

The IBF are set to mandate the winner of Fury and Usyk’s May 18 melee to defend the belt against the Croat, although that fight won’t come to fruition as the pair are contractually obliged to have back-to-back bouts.

That means the winner of Fury vs Usyk is set to be STRIPPED of the title for Hrgovic to vie for it.

Joshua blasts ‘f*** Tyson Fury’ after overhearing rival’s commentary on DAZN for Francis Ngannou
Joshua is ranked No3 in the IBF rankings, meaning the IBF will order Hrgovic to fight him for the brown belt should they decide to relieve either Fury or Usyk of the strap.

    Joseph Parker

Former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has well and truly rebuilt himself following his crushing loss to Joe Joyce in September 2022.

The Kiwi has rattled off five wins on the bounce, including one of former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

His decision win over China’s Zhilei Zhang – in which he claimed the interim WBO title – has proved he’s not the spent force many thought he was nearly two years ago.

So if AJ wants a good test to keep himself sharp, a rematch with Parker – who he beat six years ago – would make perfect sense.

    Dillian Whyte

AJ was set to renew his rivalry with Dillian Whyte last August before the Brixton Body Snatcher tested positive for a banned substance for the third time in his career.

Whyte – who maintained his innocence from the get-go – was recently cleared of any wrongdoing by the Texas Department of Licencing and Regulation

Provided he wins his fight against Christian Hammer next weekend, and, more importantly, gets cleared by the British Boxing Board of Control to compete, he could potentially be in line for a third showdown with Joshua.

    Daniel Dubois

Another domestic dust-up potentially in the offing for Joshua is one with Daniel Dubois.

Triple D is set to fill the Brit heavyweight void when Joshua and Fury eventually call it a day – despite his ups and downs.

The 26-year-old came up short in his first world title fight with Usyk last August but bounced back from that defeat with a sensational stoppage of Jarrell Miller a few months later.

Dubois still has a long way to go to put himself back in the orbit of a world title but would be a more than satisfactory opponent for AJ to keep himself busy with.

A domestic dust-up with Daniel Dubois could also be in the offing

    Deontay Wilder

Vicious knockout artist Wilder was supposed to have been the man standing opposite Joshua this weekend for the first of what would have been a two-fight series.

But the former long-reigning WBC champ blew their £100million bouts with a stinker of a performance against Parker in Riyadh last December.

Fight fans around the world mourned the loss of one of the biggest grudge matches in the sport after Parker had his hand raised.

But Joshua has refused to close the door on sharing the ring with the American – a statement which will be music to the ears of The Bronze Bomber.

Cardi first revealed her pregnancy to viewers of Sunday night’s BET Awards when she made a surprise appearance for a guest verse during Migos’ performance of their hit song Type S***.

She emerged from a cloud of smoke in a stunning jeweled bodysuit, which featured a sheer panel over her midriff that revealed her pregnant tummy.

Shortly afterward, she shared a nude photo of herself with her torso covered in a plaster cast to confirm the pregnancy.

Cardi (given name: Belcalis Almánzar) and the Migos member began their relationship in early 2017, and they were engaged by October of that year.

In July 2018, it was reported that the couple had actually gotten married a month prior to their public proposal, which Cardi later confirmed.

She announced her first pregnancy in April 2018 while performing as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, and the happy parents welcomed baby Kulture in July of that year.

The couple have had a rocky relationship, as Cardi separated from Offset in December 2018 over infidelities.

However, the two were back together within months, yet they appeared ready to part again in September of last year when Cardi filed for divorce, only for them to reunite again months later.

In December 2019, the Invasion Of Privacy rapper opened up to Vogue about how her fans reacted to her marital difficulties.

‘If you love somebody and you stop being with them, and you’re depressed and social media is telling you not to talk to that person because he cheated, you’re not really happy on the inside until you have the conversation,’ she explained.

‘Then, if you get back with them, it’s like, ‘How could you? You let all of us down.’

‘When I was pregnant with Kulture, a lot of people was like, ‘Oh, he has three kids already; why would you have a kid with somebody that have three kids?’ And it’s like, how is that such a bad thing?’ she continued.

‘My dad has eight kids, and we all get along, and it feels better, fuller. And with Offset, I feel like his kids just bring a pop of fun to life when they’re in his house.

‘I actually love it. It brings out a different side of him that I like to see, and I love to see my baby interacting with her siblings. The more the merrier.’

Jose Aldo to fight at UFC 301: Hall of Famer takes on Jonathan Martinez in his first bout since 2022 in front of his hometown Rio de Janeiro

Jose Aldo will return to the Octagon for the first time since August 2022 at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro.

On Saturday, Sao Paolo-based fight news agency Ag.Fight announced that the former featherweight champion will take on Jonathan Martinez in the promotion’s return to Brazil on May 4.

Aldo’s last fight came in a decision loss to the No 1 ranked bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278. In July 2023, Aldo and fellow Brazilian legend Anderson Silva were inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame.

The King of Rio’s career was highlighted by his 18-fight win streak from 2006 to 2015 when he lost to Conor McGregor. The 13-second knockout launched the Irishman into becoming the sport’s biggest star.

Despite the loss, Aldo regained featherweight kingship one fight later by defeating Frankie Edgar at UFC 200.

  • Kim Kardashian’s Furious Reaction to Kanye West Fathering Children with Bianca Sends Shockwaves

Kim Kardashian’s Furious Reaction to Kanye West Fathering Children with Bianca Sends Shockwaves

Kim Kardashian has reportedly had a strong reaction to the news that her ex-husband, Kanye West, may be having chilɗren with his rumored new girlfriend, Bianca. The reality TV star was said to be extremely upset and even furious about the situation.

According to reports, Kim Kardashian, who finalized her divorce from Kanye West earlier this year, was not expecting her ex-husband to move on so quickly and start a family with someone else. The news of Kanye potentially having chilɗren with Bianca came as a shock to her.

Sources close to Kim Kardashian claim that she was deeply hurt by the revelation. The reports suggest that she had hoped Kanye would take some time to himself before jumping into a serious relationship, let alone starting a family with someone else. The speed at which this new relationship appears to be progressing has allegedly left Kim feeling distraught.

Furthermore, the sources claim that Kim Kardashian feels that her ex-husband’s actions are a direct snub to their past relationship. She had reportedly hoped for a more amicable separation and is disappointed to see Kanye moving on so quickly.

It is no secret that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had a highly publicized and tumultuous relationship. However, the two have managed to maintain a respectful co-parenting dynamic for the sake of their four chilɗren. The news of Kanye potentially starting a new family seems to have disrupted the delicate balance they had established.

It is important to note that these reports are based on unnamed sources and neither Kim Kardashian nor Kanye West have publicly commented on the matter. As such, it is difficult to ascertain the full extent of Kim’s reaction or whether the news is entirely accurate.

Regardless of the specifics, it is understandable that Kim Kardashian may have mixed emotions about this new development in her ex-husband’s life. Divorces are often complex and emotionally charged, especially when there are chilɗren involved.

As with any personal matter, it is crucial to respect the privacy of those involved and avoid jumping to conclusions based on unverified reports. Time will tell how both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West navigate this new chapter in their lives and how they continue to co-parent their chilɗren amidst the changes.

Posh was recently taken aback when asked about the possibility of becoming a grandmother in a chat with Vogue. When asked if her eldest son Brooklyn was planning on starting a family with his wife Nicola Peltz, she was taken aback.

“What? Woah. Hang on! I don’t think it’s happening just yet, unless you guys know something that I don’t. It’s not happening just yet,” she said. However, a source later claimed that Victoria was putting on a “brave face” as she was shocked at the thought of being a grandmother at just 50. The source told OK! Magazine: “Victoria was so shocked when she was asked about becoming a grandmother. She’s made it clear she thinks she’s far too young to be one right now.

“She may no longer be a young Spice Girl dancing around the stage, but she’s also not at the age of being called a grandma just yet.” Brooklyn and Nicola, who got married in April 2022, have been open about wanting to start a family after tying the knot at a young age. Just four months after getting married, Brooklyn revealed that he was eager to have kids sooner rather than later.

“I would love to have a family soon, but whenever my wife is ready. I could have, like, 10 children,” Brooklyn shared. “My dad was young when he had me,” he mentioned. “I’ve always wanted to be a young dad. We would love to have a big family one day. We would love to have some of our own and we’d love to adopt. It’ll be so cool to have little Peltz-Beckhams running around.”

After the first two races of the season, Alpine look like one of the worst teams on the grid. Having finished P6 in the championship last year, the French outfit has been off to a dismal start this season. Both their drivers qualified in the last row in Bahrain and could not score a points finish. Points once again eluded them in Jeddah as Pierre Gasly suffered a 1st lap DNF while Esteban Ocon finished P13. Taking note of the downfall, former F1 team principal Eddie Jordan believes they might not feature on the grid in 2025, as reported by Motorsport-Total.

Ever since Renault (Alpine) re-joined the F1 grid, they have been plagued with setbacks. The Enstone-based outfit came to the sport with a five-year plan, but key departures continued to act as setbacks. Last year, ex-Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer had to make way for Bruno Famin. Per Jordan, the team let go of Szafnauer a bit too early.

“It’s absolutely embarrassing. At the moment, they are the team that is in the biggest crisis.”

Under Famin, problems continue to plague Alpine as their performances seem to dip with each passing race. Key personnel are taking note of the same and are walking away from the team. Recently, Matt Harman and Dirk de Beer have handed in their resignation, with there being rumors of more resignations to follow soon.

Hence, Jordan worries Alpine’s time in F1 might well be over. Despite investments from Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, and co., RacingNews 365 reported that the team’s value was around $900 million in December 2023. The value was $500 million less than Forbes‘ estimated value of $1.4 billion in July of the same year.

Poor performances compelled Alpine to make structural changes

Following the poor outings in the opening two races of the season, Bruno Famin confessed to Racer.com about the need to make changes. A new structure came into being at Alpine, with three Technical Directors taking charge of three separate divisions. Famin believes the improvements they made in 2023 give him the confidence to be able to continue striving for success in 2024. With a fresh management structure, the belief of the team is that they will be able to make the organization “much more horizontal, much less vertical.”

Through the new structure, Famin believes there will be short-term gains for his team. Hence, they can focus on short-term, as well as, long-term gains, instead of only focusing on the now. By the time the 2026 regulations kick in, Famin hopes to learn from the A524. These learnings will be critical for Alpine to ready themselves for 2026. Additionally, the A524 shall act as the base for Alpine to develop their 2026 car (A526). Hence, Famin is optimistic that his team will be able to survive the current dip.

    Age

Father Time is well and truly on the side of boxing icon Tyson in this showdown.

Iron Mike, who has seemingly poured cold water on talk of lacing up his gloves again, celebrated his 57th birthday in June.

The outspoken and seldom quiet John, meanwhile, turned 59 in May.

    Physical

He may have more years on the clock than Tyson, but John boasts significant physical advantages over Kid Dynamite.

John stands at a solid 6’3, while Tyson – who knocked out many a taller opponent during his heyday – is a mere 5’10.

John also boasts a four-inch reach advantage, with his limbs extending 75 inches compared to Tyson’s 71 inches.

John’s current weight is unknown, although Tyson weighed in at 220.4lbs for his last foray into the ring.

    Records

The difference in experience between the pair is stark, to say the least.

John only had 13 professional bouts in his career, in which he claims he only made £4000 from.

Tyson, meanwhile, took to the ring a staggering 58 times as a professional, registering 44 brutal knockouts.

Iron Mike is the fresher of the two when it comes to recent ring experience having fought fellow great Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition in November 2020.

John, meanwhile, hasn’t set foot in the ring since being knocked out by Steve Garber all the way back in 1995.

McGregor captioned the post: “Legends unite! What a vision! Bravo The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and His Excellency.”

The Irishman has travelled over to Riyadh to watch heavyweight boxing champ Fury face ex-UFC star Ngannou.

It comes six years after McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather in the first crossover clash of the modern era.

McGregor was linked with another boxing bout against Pacquiao until talks broke down.

PacMan was later sued by Paradigm Management – who represent McGregor – following a breach in their contract.

The eight-division title holder was hit with an $8m (£6.6m) bill which McGregor brazenly claimed he was owed personally.

But in a voice note later deleted, McGregor said: “Where’s my $8 million from that court case, Manny Pacquiao?

“I’ll kick you in the head, in the neck, the inside leg, and take you off your feet and drag you by your ankle across the stage.”

Hitting back, Pacquiao told MMA Junkie: “Oh, he’s not active anymore.”

The Filipino icon retired in 2021 following defeat to Yordenis Ugas but he has teased a comeback while recently entering talks with former Brit world champ Khan.

Meanwhile, McGregor is preparing to return next year having been sidelined since July 2021 when he broke his leg.

Fury, 35, controversially won by split decision despite being dropped by MMA legend Ngannou, 37, in the third round.

Ngannou matched the heavyweight world champion for 10 rounds and even had enough gas left in the tank to attempt an ambitious move with just 30 seconds left on the clock.

In the final round, the Cameroonian came forward and jabbed with his left hand before jumping and trying to land a right jab on Fury’s head.

The move – widely described in MMA as a ‘Superman’ punch – left fans stunned, with one person tweeting: “This was incredible. Ngannou is box office!”

Ngannou’s trainer, former heavyweight champion Tyson, was being filmed when the MMA icon attempted the punch.

He then said: “Superman punch! I told him to use it.”

Ngannou was a huge underdog going into the fight, but many fans believe he should have won given his outstanding performance.

One judge ruled 95-94 in his favour, but the other two scored 95-94 and 96-93 respectively in favour of Fury.

Despite the controversial nature of his defeat, Ngannou did not bemoan the result.

He said: “We can run it back again and I’m sure I’m gonna get better.

“This was my first boxing match, [it was] a great experience.

“I’m not giving any excuses, I know I came up short. But I’m gonna go back and work harder.

“And with a little bit more experience and a little more feeling for the game and come back even stronger.”
