Anthony Joshua jumps up Ring Magazine heavyweight rankings after Ngannou KO but ‘crazy’ Fury laughs off standings

ANTHONY JOSHUA has climbed up Ring Magazine’s rankings after his devastating victory over Francis Ngannou.

AJ wasted no time in the ring against the MMA superstar as he secured a brutal second round knockout earlier this month.

The former heavyweight champion sent his rival to the canvas in the opening round and then hit the deck again before his lights were put out with a powerful right-hand.

Joshua has now has now won four bouts in a row against Ngannou, Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius and Jermaine Franklin after his back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk.

His strong recent performances have seen him climb up from third to second in the Ring Magazine heavyweight rankings.

Joseph Parker has also risen up the list following his two huge victories over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.

Tyson Fury laughed at the new rankings, saying on social media: “I’m the craziest MF out there.

“I gave up Ring belt so I could win it three times.”

Oleksandr Usyk maintains the Ring magazine title, having first secured the crown in his second win over AJ in 2022.

He is ready to put that belt as well as his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO titles on the line as he faces Fury on May 18.

Daniel Ricciardo reveals the moment he became so gutted by his poor form that he didn’t care if his F1 career was over – as he prepares for the Australian Grand Prix

Daniel Ricciardo has experienced the highest of highs in F1 racing, but he has also plummeted to the lowest of lows – admitting ahead of the Australian F1 Grand Prix that his struggles robbed him of his passion for the sport.

Throughout his career, Ricciardo has achieved eight Grand Prix victories and 32 podium finishes, marking him as one of the sport’s better competitors.

But those results have become hard to come by in recent years, with podium finishes drying up during stints at Renault from 2019-2020 and a troubled partnership with McLaren from 2021-2022.

When Ricciardo split from McLaren, he had no team to go to and faced a major career crossroads.

When former teammate Sebastian Vettel was given his retirement send off, Ricciardo was at an incredibly low ebb.

‘Seb got the big goodbye he completely deserved, but I didn’t know at that stage if 2022 was the end or not for me too,’ Ricciardo told The Age.

‘At that moment it wasn’t something I cared too much about, mostly because I didn’t like the way my career had ended if that was it.’

The uncertainty began to grind on Ricciardo. Publicly he would flash his trademark smile and say he wasn’t concerned about the future, but as the poor results with McLaren stacked up, his love of the sport was bleeding out.

‘From that mid-point of 2022 when I basically didn’t have a job and was unsure what I was going to do, I was almost wishing the races away, wanting the season to be done with,’ he admitted.

‘I found it hard to be very present in that time. I had to fight to actually enjoy the job.

‘Coming back last year, I found that I wasn’t thinking about anything else because I was truly happy doing what I was doing.

‘I was in love with the sport again, with driving and competing. In 2022, I struggled with that and just wanted it to be over.’

To find his mojo, Ricciardo had to go back to his roots and spend significant time back at his family farm in Perth, Western Australia.

It was there he managed to get rid of the ‘clutter’ in his life, refocus and prepare for his comeback with Red Bull’s sister team AlphaTauri – now rebranded as RB.

‘It’s had a long-lasting impact. I got my energy and my excitement back by pushing a few things to the side, cutting out a lot of clutter,’ Ricciardo said of his time back home.

‘I wanted to be able to fall back in love with training again, but to train and to train well, you need to get some time back in your life to do that properly.

‘You can’t do a million other things, because you have no window to train, and then maybe you’re not as strong or as healthy or as fresh as you should be, and it spirals.

‘I wanted to get that feeling back again, to bring out the old me. Racing and training are my priorities right now, and all of the other stuff is secondary.’

While it has been a slow start to the season, Ricciardo is hoping for a big showing at his home Grand Prix in Melbourne

Re-energised, Ricciardo enters the Australian F1 Grand Prix driving an improved RB vehicle with the hope of finishing his career with the Red Bull main team.

While the results haven’t come yet, with finishes of 13th and 16th so far this season, he has adopted a new way of thinking that he believes will carry him a long way in the twilight of his career.

‘I’ve been in F1 a long time, driven a lot of cars, seen a lot of things. My knowledge … I probably underestimated that,’ he said.

‘The team was struggling a bit at the time, and I could see that my experience was helping. The way the team responded to what I had to say, the questions they asked … I grew to really enjoy that aspect of it.

‘You realise with age that you have the power to change how a garage feels, how a team responds.

‘There’s hundreds of people that work with these teams, but you’re one of two people who the world watches to see how the team performs.

‘We don’t just drive the car, we have the ability to alter the atmosphere in the room and that’s something I’m definitely more aware of.’

Fans worried about Tyson Fury as new footage released ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Boxing fans are worried for Tyson Fury after training footage emerged online ahead of his blockbuster fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury meets Usyk in a big undisputed showdown on May 18 following the postponement of their February clash.

The WBC, WBA (super), WBO and IBF world heavyweight titles will be on the line when the two heavyweight stars collide in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury is back in training camp after a nasty cut forced him to withdraw last month.

Footage of the self-proclaimed ‘Gypsy King’ in preparation for his fight against Usyk has surfaced online.

And fight fans are concerned for the unbeaten British star, who went through his paces in a strength and conditioning session. Check it out below:

The clip shows him on sled pushes and performing squats, leaving people on social media unimpressed.

One X user wrote: “Oh crap he looks awful. Please let him beat Usyk.”

A second tweeted: “That is genuinely some of the least impressive jumping up and down I’ve ever seen.”

A third added: “He looks like it’s first ever time in a gym every time.”

Another commented: “He jumps up and down like a toddler.”

Fury hasn’t fought since his underwhelming victory over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou last October.

He beat Dereck Chisora in the last defence of his WBC title as he looks collect the other three belts in the division.

If he beats Usyk, then an all-British showdown against Anthony Joshua could be next.

Joshua brutally stopped Ngannou earlier this month, but his victory didn’t impress Fury.

“I’m still dismissive of him,” he said. “AJ’s made to measure for me. Just because he knocked out Francis Ngannou – it’s not the same. He couldn’t land any of those rights on Usyk, a way smaller and lighter man. Styles make fights and his style is made for me.”

‘I ain’t got no money’: Mike Tyson says he wants $1bn to fight Jake Paul

Mike Tyson has said he wants “a billion bucks” to box Jake Paul, with the former heavyweight champion suggesting that he has “no f***ing money”.

Tyson and YouTube star Paul have hung out on numerous occasions, and the latter has even suggested that he could fight his fellow American.

Tyson, 55, has said that he has heard nothing about such a bout, however.

“Nobody told me that,” Tyson said on his podcast. “Hey, I ain’t got no f***ing money. So, where’s the f***ing contract?

“I ain’t know nothing about it. Listen, I’ve been smoking with him forever, I did some shrooms with him as well, but I’ve never heard this.

“I was with him in St Barts not too long ago partying, and he never told me this. I’ve never heard this from nobody, I’ve just heard this from you guys.”

Tyson’s last professional bout took place in 2005, when “Iron Mike” was stopped by Kevin McBride, though Tyson returned to the ring in 2020 for an exhibition draw with Roy Jones Jr.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old Paul has gone 5-0 as a professional boxer in recent years, knocking out every man he has faced – including former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley last time out.

When Tyson was asked how much money he would want to fight Paul, the former heavyweight champion said: “A billion bucks.

“We got to get some more [money] man. S***, blue-eyed, blonde hair… that s*** is very expensive.

“We need to get some more money, man.”

What Is Reba McEntire’s Real Name?

The Full Story Behind Country Icon Reba McEntire’s Name

The Queen of Country, Reba McEntire, got her now-famous moniker from a particularly inspirational family member.

Legendary Mega Mentor Reba McEntire Is Making Everyone Emotional | The Voice | NBC

It’s one of the most recognizable names in show business, and for good reason: Reba McEntire just rolls off the tongue. In fact, most of the time, she just goes by Reba.

    How to Watch

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

After the early foray into the music business, the “Fancy” singer has gone on to hit many high notes during her four-decade career with more than 75 million records sold worldwide and a staggering 25 No. 1 hits. She’s joined the ranks of pop culture icons like Oprah and Madonna, who only need to be known by their first name, as a result of her chart-topping music (and epic music videos) along with her long-standing run on the popular sitcom Reba and current role as a Coach on The Voice Season 24.

Many artists have stage names, so some may wonder if there’s more to the story with McEntire’s title. Below, learn more about McEntire’s mythic solo moniker.

What Is Reba McEntire’s Real Name?

Technically, Reba Nell McEntire is her full name.

The Season 24 Voice Coach was born in McAlester, Oklahoma, on March 28, 1955. McEntire was bestowed the now-famous name by her parents, Jackie and Clark McEntire, in honor of her maternal grandmother, Reba Smith.

“My grandma was a very spiritual woman. Her name was Reba Smith. That’s my mama’s mama,” McEntire told CountryLiving.com in 2016. “My daddy’s mama died before my oldest sister Alice was born.”

The first name wasn’t the only thing her grandmother passed down to the Grammy-winning singer while she was growing up on an 8,000-acre cattle ranch in Chockie, Oklahoma.

“Grandma Reba taught me about the love of Jesus,” McEntire shared. “To me, that’s the most important thing she could’ve ever taught me.”

Although she secured her place as a household name, McEntire has become a fixture in living rooms across America on Season 24 of The Voice alongside Coaches Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend. McEntire had some big cowboy boots to fill after taking over Coach Blake Shelton’s chair, but Team Reba is killing it during McEntire’s debut as a Coach.

As Team Reba fans everywhere cross their fingers for a win, McEntire has been keeping her eyes on the prize. In an October 2023 interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, McEntire revealed that Legend is major competition.

“John’s got a great knack for picking great singers,” McEntire gushed. “And when we’re with our backs to the singers that come on to audition, I’m always looking at John, to see if John’s going to hit that button!”

With decades of expertise, McEntire has proven to be one of the most insightful Coaches the competition has seen. McEntire will return as a Coach for Season 25 of The Voice — so she is just getting started.

“I’m really having a wonderful time,” McEntire told Newsweek in September 2023. “[The Voice] is a well-oiled machine, so getting in at this time is marvelous. Everybody knows the game plan, from the crew, the producers. Everybody on the show is so nice, so sweet, and have been so helpful. I’m loving it.”

    Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift

Reba McEntire admitted that when she first found out about Taylor Swift‘s presumed romance with Travis Kelce, she wasn’t too happy about it.

The 68-year-old revealed her true feelings while speaking with TODAY.com in an article published on Wednesday, Oct. 11, saying it felt like her “boyfriend cheated on” her.

Reba McEntire Jokes She's 'So Mad' at Taylor Swift Over Travis Kelce Dating Rumors

“Oh, my gosh, I am so mad at her because I had a crush on him,” McEntire shared while promoting her new book, Not That Fancy: Simple Lessons on Living, Loving, Eating, and Dusting Off Your Boots. “Now I can’t have a crush anymore because he’s dating her.”

“I was so devastated,” she said before going on to describe Kelce as her “boyfriend that cheated on” her.

Her actual boyfriend–Rex Linn–was well aware of how she felt about the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end long before she spoke to the press about it, as she even admitted to making comments about Kelce’s appearance in front of him.

“We were watching him play because I love the Chiefs and I love Patrick [Mahomes], and I’d say, ‘Oh, he’s so cute. Oh, he’s so cute.’”

But Linn isn’t intimidated by McEntire’s little crush, “Isn’t that sad?” she joked.

In fact, Linn has gone so far as to tease the “I’m a Survivor” songstress now that Kelce and the 33-year-old Grammy winner appear to be dating.

“When he and Taylor started dating, Rex said, ‘Your boyfriend’s got another girlfriend.’ I said, ‘Rub it in.’”

The mocking appears to be all out of love, as the two have been nearly inseparable over the past three years, regularly sharing their admiration for one another in sweet, sappy posts online.

While speaking with Parade for her cover story interview earlier this month, McEntire dished on her relationship with the 66-year-old actor and how it all came to be.

“Rex and I knew each other from 1991 when we did a Kenny Rogers Gambler movie. We stayed in contact,” she said.

“Then, in January 2020, we were on Young Sheldon and went to dinner with [co-star] Melissa Peterman,” she recalled. “When my tour manager dropped me off in front of that restaurant, I couldn’t get into it quick enough to see Rex.”

Tyson Fury has joked that he would pay to be punched by Mike Tyson to be able to say that he had been struck in the face by a “legend”.

Fury, who is named after the former American heavyweight, has confirmed his own retirement from professional boxing after defeating Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium last weekend.

Tyson, meanwhile, has been in the news after a video was shared showing the 55-year-old repeatedly striking a fellow plane passenger.

It is as yet unclear if any legal charges will be brought, with Tyson’s representatives accusing the man, in a statement to TMZ, of “harassing” Tyson and throwing a water bottle at him.

Fury defended Tyson, suggesting that his fellow former heavyweight is not the man to “prod with a stick”.

“Mike Tyson is a real OG,” Fury told TalkTV . “You can’t mess with Mike because you don’t know what he’s going to do.

“How can you go around prodding a lion with a stick? How long can you prod a guy for before he does something about it?

“Mike is Mike. Mike don’t get the name for the Baddest Man on the Planet for nothing. So he’s not the guy you want to prod with a stick on the back of a plane until you get chinned and that’s exactly what happened to the guy – and then he wants to cry about it!

“If he’s man enough to prod Mike Tyson and touch him and call him names and abuse him on the plane, then man up and take a punch on the face! So what?”

Fury even suggested that receiving a strike from Tyson was something that he would pay for.

The 33-year-old opined: “You should be paying Mike. Now you can say you’ve been punched in the face by a legend, a world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson. I’d pay for that myself!”

  • Reba McEntire Used To Hope She’d See Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl

Reba McEntire Used To Hope She’d See Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl

With the hours ticking down to Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday (Feb. 11), fans are still speculating about whether Taylor Swift will be in the stands cheering on her boyfriend, Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce.

Reba McEntire is no exception. Speaking to People ahead of the game, where she’s set to sing the national anthem, McEntire says she knows exactly what she’ll say to Swift if the two stars cross paths at the Super Bowl.

Reba McEntire Gives Heartfelt Rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVIII | whas11.com

“I’m going to tell her congratulations on the Grammys. My gosh,” McEntire raves. Swift won two awards at the show last Sunday (Feb. 4), including a history-making Album of the Year win.

“She took that thing by storm,” McEntire continues, adding that she’s also “thrilled to death” that Swift and Kelce are in a relationship, and that “Travis is a cutie pie.”

McEntire is one of three stars taking the stage before kickoff: Rapper Post Malone is performing “America the Beautiful,” R&B singer Andra Day is singing “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and of course, McEntire will cap things off with “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Reba McEntire denies calling Taylor Swift an 'entitled little brat' after Super Bowl performance

But the country great knows she’s just there to supplement the main attraction: Football. “You know, it’s not about me. It’s about everybody who worked so hard to get to the Super Bowl, and my job is to bring the patriotism,” McEntire relates.

“I’m going to be singing for not only the people who are gonna be performing and playing on the field that day, but it’s for everybody who has worked so hard to ensure our freedom and try to have as much peace on earth as we can,” she goes on to say. “It’s not about me. I’m just the conduit and the water hose who gets to sing the song.”

Which Other Country Stars Have Sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl?
Having three patriotic songs to kick off the game is a bit of a left turn for the Super Bowl, which typically features just one performance of the national anthem from a different superstar each year.

The show has now booked country singers to perform the anthem for four years running. Before McEntire’s 2024 anthem gig, Chris Stapleton did the honors in 2023, and his bluesy “Star-Spangled Banner” is still one of the show’s most buzzed-about moments.

Mickey Guyton sang the anthem in 2022, and Eric Church teamed up with Jazmine Sullivan in 2021. Over the years, plenty of other stars have repped the genre for the national anthem performance: Remember Garth Brook’s high-drama 1993 Super Bowl gig? Faith Hill, the Chicks, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood are all among those who’ve sang the anthem before the big game, too.

Reba McEntire slams fake news post that pit her against Taylor Swift: 'I did not say this'

Will Taylor Swift Be at the 2024 Super Bowl?

It’s hard to say for sure whether or not Swift will attend the Super Bowl this year, but the bottom line is, it’s certainly possible.

The Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII, meaning that Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — who’s currently dating Swift — will be playing in the big game.
Swift has attended every Chiefs game this season that doesn’t conflict with her current Eras Tour.
The superstar recently resumed the international leg of her Eras Tour, and she played a show in Tokyo, Japan on Feb. 10 — one day before the Super Bowl on Feb. 11.
However, thanks to her private jet and the magic of time zones, Swift still has plenty of time to make it back to Las Vegas, Nev. in time for the big game.

Guenther Steiner wades into Christian Horner ‘sex texts’ scandal as former team boss admits some Red Bull chiefs ‘will be rethinking what they want to do’ amid row that has clouded Formula One

Guenther Steiner hopes Red Bull ‘put an end’ to the row engulfing Christian Horner, with the team principal’s ‘sex texts’ scandal overshadowing the start of the Formula One season.

Red Bull team boss Horner was accused of ‘coercive behaviour’ by an unnamed female employee before he was cleared by a lawyer hired by the motorsports team to investigate.

However, the woman has since launched an appeal against the outcome after she was suspended by the team for giving ‘dishonest’ evidence.

The Formula One circus is rolling into Melbourne this weekend for the third race of the season but Horner’s off-track drama remains the topic of conversation, and former Haas boss Steiner hopes that the saga will end soon.

Mike Tyson vows not to take public flights after plane fight

Mike Tyson has said he will no longer take public flights after he was involved in an incident that saw him beat up a fellow passenger.

Video footage went viral last month after the world heavyweight champion was seen punching a man on board a commercial flight.

Tyson was later detained and said the altercation was sparked after the passenger had thrown a plastic bottle in his direction and was acting aggressively.

No charges were filed against Tyson following the incident and the man’s representatives denied that a bottle had been thrown.

“At a certain point, Mr Tyson clearly became agitated by an overly excited fan and began to strike him in an excessive manner,” his attorney said.

And with the incident now thought to be closed, Tyson has told his Hotboxin’ podcast: “Yes, they said they ain’t gonna pick up charges.

“He was f*****g with me, man. I took pictures with [him]. I shouldn’t even be taking public planes. My wife gets mad I take public planes.”

Video shows Tyson punching the fan ahead of the JetBlue flight from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale in April.

TMZ reported that the interaction with Tyson and the fan was cordial at first, with a witness saying he greeted the boxer and got his taken picture with him along with one of his friends.

But soon, Tyson wanted the man to be quiet and when he kept talking, Tyson stood up, turned around and punched him several times in the face.

“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Mike, come on, stop that,” a witness can be heard saying in the viral video.

Another video from the flight shows the moments just after the altercation, with the man filming the video saying “my boy just got beat up by Mike Tyson”.
