JOHN FURY has not lacked ambition when calling out huge names in the boxing world to fight.

The boxing veteran is most well known for fathering and coaching superstar sons Tyson and Tommy.

But he also had a 8-4-1 professional boxing record and claimed to have been a fierce bare-knuckle fighter on the hard road.

His passion for his boys has led John to row with famous faces from the boxing world and resulted in wild fight call outs.

As of yet, John is yet to actually follow up on any of these challenges but here SunSport runs down the best of the bunch.

Mike Tyson

John is admittedly an Iron Mike superfan and even named champion son Tyson after the heavyweight legend.

But it has not stopped John from wanting to fight his hero and recently laid out a challenge when Mike Tyson coached Francis Ngannou for his bout against the Gypsy King.

John said: “Here I am! Any man alive want to fight John Fury I’m here and ready to go, Mike Tyson what have you got to say to that my brother?”

Jake Paul

For two years YouTuber-turned boxer Paul terrorised John’s son Tommy about a fight and his reasons for twice pulling out.

So John lost it when the two came face to face in Dubai and roared: “Come in here! Forget my son! I’m the king of the bare knuckle man!”

Eventually, Tommy would go onto beat Paul via split-decision in February 2023 with the pair back in talks for a rematch.

John did not just draw the line with Tyson, he also opened the door to fighting his iconic rivals of the 1990s.

He said in 2020: “Now I’m fit, let’s talk about some proper fighting men that have had fighting experience.

“Lets go: Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson all of those men in their 50s, my age, let’s have a go.”

Eddie Hearn

Hearn has had a frosty relationship with the Fury family amid the long-standing rivalry with his star fighter Anthony Joshua.

John has lost his cool over the brash promoter several times and at one point called to face Hearn on Joshua’s undercard.

He told The Mirror in 2022: “I’ll fight Eddie Hearn on the undercard too for the AJ fight. I’ll do that for free! If they sign the contract, I’ll box Eddie Hearn on the undercard for free!”

David Haye

Haye famously pulled out of fighting Fury twice due to injury and the bad blood between the two has carried on even after his retirement.

The British legend had a brief comeback in 2021 for an exhibition and called out Fury afterwards – but John wanted to take the bout instead.

He told BT Sport: “I will fight David Haye, and tell him from me – I will fight him seven days a week and three times on a Sunday. You tell him.”

Carl Froch

Froch has been outspoken since his 2014 retirement and recently questioned Fury’s boxing career.

It sparked a furious reaction from John, who said:  “You and me, Wembley Stadium, 93,000 crowd. I’m up for that my friend.”

Froch hit back to instead suggest they settle the score in the name of charity.

Joe Egan

Egan is a former sparring partner of Mike Tyson’s and took acceptation to John’s challenge and suggested they fight instead.

John finally responded in a lengthy Instagram message and demanded a full fight offer be sent over in writing.

He warned in his rant: “Now it’s personal, Joe.”

Micky Theo

After John claimed to be the fittest man at his age alive, he was called out by former bodybuilder Theo.

And despite Theo’s best efforts to organise a fight, John refused to entertain it as an event but did claim he’d be up for a straightener.

He said: “I’ve seen people like you all my life. I’m in shape, I’m ready to fight, cut the s***e, let’s just fight.”

Several notable names from the world of combat sports have expressed their concern about ‘Iron Mike’ lacing up the gloves again just two years shy of his 60th birthday. Froch echoed those sentiments, before verbally destroying Paul in an X-rated tirade.

“I stumbled across the news that Jake Paul is fighting the legend, the icon, Mike Tyson. What is going on? This can’t be happening you can’t put a guy in his mid-twenties up against someone who’s nearly 60 years old – and Mike Tyson’s had some wear and tear in his career. Tyson’s an icon and Jake Paul’s not even a pro boxer. When I heard this fight was happening I was absolutely disgusted.”

The 46-year-old Brit took aim at the viral sensation for accepting the fight in the first place, arguing that it ‘wouldn’t prove anything’ if ‘The Problem Child added Tyson to his slate of six career knockouts, given that the former six-time world heavyweight champion is well past his prime.

“This is basically a young kid being a bully. What exactly does Jake Paul feel he’s getting out of fighting Mike Tyson? What’ does he think he’s achieving by fighting a guy who’s nearly 60 years old. He [Tyson] is well past his best. He peaked in the early 1990’s. If Jake Paul wins, he’s beaten an old man and people will say: ‘Well, what have you proved there?’ If he loses, he’s lost to an old man – and there’s still a chance. It’s ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson and he still has got a punch. Your punch power is the last thing to go.”

Despite his fears for Tyson, the outspoken Nottingham man was sure to remind his viewers how little he thinks of Paul’s general boxing ability. Froch criticised the ex-Disney channel star before his bout with Tommy Fury last February – and his dislike for the American only grew after Paul suffered his first professional defeat at the hands of the former Love Island contestant.

“Jake Paul, you are an absolute b****,” continued the pundit in his verbal assassination of the 10-fight novice. “I’ve seen you fight. I’ve watched you lose against Fury. What a crap fight that was. I have never seen anything so crap in my life.” Froch even insisted Paul should be ‘ashamed’ of himself for agreeing to the Tyson fight.

“Why are you still lacing up your boots and calling yourself a professional boxer? You’re a performing clown. You’re a f****** embarrassment and should be ashamed of yourself.”

Froch, who retired from the ring after his 2014 knockout victory over George Groves at Wembley Stadium, then confirmed he would be willing to end his retirement to fight Paul and drive him out of the sport.

“You won’t fight me, will you? You haven’t got the b*******. You’re just a f****** bully! It’s p***ing me off because Mike Tyson is such a legend in the boxing world and you are going to disrespect him. And you are disrespecting yourself as well actually. You are an embarrassment.”

Strong words from Froch and a fight between himself and Paul could well materialise in the future. At 46, the former super-middleweight king is still a year younger than UFC Hall of Famer Anderson Silva was when he fought the American in a boxing match in October 2022 – and a massive 12 years younger than Tyson will be when he steps into the ring in July. It remains to be seen how a fight between Froch and Paul would play out, but the war of words beforehand would no doubt be entertaining all on its own.

Under the hood lies a 4.3-liter V-8 capable of producing 200 hp and 251 ft lbs of torque.

Classic Car Auctions expects the Vogue will hammer down for between $38,100 and $50,800 (£30,000 and £40,000) at the upcoming sale. The vehicle most recently sold for $40,000 (£31,500) at an Iconic Auctioneers sale in November.

Taking place March 23 and 24 at the NEC Birmingham, the auction will spotlight 34 Land Rovers and Range Rovers. Highlights include a 2007 Land Rover Discovery that was used by King Charles III ($25,400 to £38,100), a 2013 Range Rover Westminster that doubled as a protection vehicle for the late Queen Elizabeth II, and a 1982 Land Rover Series III that belonged to a British Olympian.

In addition, 19 restored Range Rovers and Land Rovers will cross the auction block with no reserve. Standouts include a 1986 Range Rover Overfinch Prototype, a six-wheeled 1969 Range Rover by Carmichael, and a factory 1989 Land Rover Defender County 110.

Recently, Stroman opened up about the excitement he has to meet the team and gave his thought on Yankee lineups. Now he has spoken about Soto and opened up about he had previously come up against powerful hitters such Rodriguez and David Ortiz.

I think (Soto) is the best hitter in baseball. I came up in the AL East, I faced Papi (David Ortiz), A-Rod (Alex Rodriguez), I faced all those guys. I think Juan Soto’s judgment of the strike zone is unheard of.

One question that is haunting the fans though is how long will Soto play in New York. The three-time All-Star will hit free agency next season if the Yankees do not extend his contract. It seems the Spring training for Cincinnati Reds‘ youngster Elly De La Cruz is going well. In his debut season, the 22-year-old shattered several MLB records. He is now back to smashing things, quite literally, as he smashed his teammate Hunter Greene‘s car.

During the Reds’ BP session in Phoenix, Cruz went up against Greene. As the two teammates locked on to a heated training session, Cruz ended up hitting a high foul ball out of the park. Unfortunately for Greene, the ball went and hit his luxurious car and smashed it’s window.

The two teammates would later share a photo of the incident with De La Cruz holding the ball and Greene pointing to the damage. The pitcher would jokingly ask De La Cruz to pay for it to which he would reply “You make more than me“.

As per reports from Fox News, the car Greene possess is a Mercedes-MayBach GLS SUV which comes at a price tag of $200,000. Such a luxurious car would definitely cost high price for it’s repairs. Who will eventually pay for this damage remains unclear at the moment.

Papelbon not only called out Rendon but also the Angles for signing him a 7-year $245 million contract, calling it “the worst deal in history.” In the interview, Rendon boldly stated that baseball is not his priority compared to family and faith. He even said “I’m leaving” if there comes a moment where he has to choose between career and family.

Prior to the 2020 season, the LA Angels penned Anthony Rendon to a 7-year $245 million contract, but according to his ex-teammate Jonathan Papelbon, it was a mistake. He said that when Rendon went into free agency he thought that any team that would sign the 33-year-old “is going to get totally bamboozled”.

Papelbon labeled the signing “the worst deal in history” and now labels it as a “cancer” to the team. He said that Rendon has proven his point as he participated in only 52 games in the shortened 2020 season for 60 games. Furthermore, his injuries withheld him for half of the season, making him unable to play.

Although in the interview, Rendon mentioned how he’s excited for the upcoming 2024 season and he’s feeling prepared for it, his motivation is not his top priority as to his family. For Rendon baseball “is a job” he has to do for a living. He’s even stated that he would leave baseball for his family and faith.

He said that his priority for the game changed after getting married and becoming the father of four kids. Since joining the team, he has played 200 games with 23 home runs with a hitting mark of .249. Fans and players will be keeping an eye on his game in the 2024 season, after ruffling up the feathers of the baseball community.

Kike Hernandez, the prominent utility player of the Los Angeles Dodgers is now back in South California for his third stint. The 32-year-old re-joined the team on a one-year, $4 million deal from free agency. He has now revealed the reason why he joined the Dodgers despite being “intrigued‘ by the New York Yankees.

These two teams have been super active in the offseason while actively bolstering their squad ahead of the 2024 season. Hernandez was one option that was explored by both sides.

In the end it, came to the player’s decision. Hernandez would choose the Dodgers and announce his return on social media. During an interview with Foul Territory, he explained how the National League team has more left-hand hitters and he knew them more than the Yanks.

I chose the Dodgers because they have a lot of left-handed hitters. Obviously, I have familiarity... The main reason was they were able to guarantee me to start at least against left-handed pitchers to start the year.

The offseason in the MLB this year has produced mixed results. While several huge contracts have been offered to top stars, some big names are still waiting for a new team. Kike Hernandez has now blasted the free-agency market.

The Puerto Rican star was one of the players looking for a club in the offseason after becoming a free agent. In his conversation with the Foul Territory, he explained how long and slow the process had gone and claimed it was a “shame” that some of the best players are still not signed.

It’s been terrible. There’s still a lot of really good quality baseball players... and the fact that they’re still out there, it’s a shame.

As the New York Yankees faced the Detroit Tigers on Sunday for another Spring training game, there was one person who was more excited than anyone else. Tigers’ top prospect Jackson Jabe got a chance to meet his pitching idol Gerrit Cole and enjoyed a good time with him.

According to reports from MLB, Tigers’ coach A.J. Hinch came forward to schedule this meet. The coach had previously worked with the Yankees ace during his time with the Houston Astros. He perhaps wanted to do something special for the young pitcher and thus arranged this meet.

In this meet, the two pitchers would have a good 15-20 minutes conversation regarding pitching. For the 21-year-old star it was like a dream come true as he meet one of the person he looked upto. Jobe would later praise the 2023 American League Cy Young award winner when he was asked why he started following him.

He's probably the best pitcher of this generation... He’s a pro, the way he handles himself off the field as well as on the field... He’s not going to be the loudest guy out there, but he dominates you, and that’s how he goes about business.

Gerrit Cole hoping to add a ring to his long list of accomplishments

Ever since making his debut in the major league, Gerrit Cole has achieved a lot of things. A six-time All-Star, part of the 2,000 strikeout club, AL wins leaders, Cole has done almost everything as a pitcher. The 33-year-old now wants to add a ring to his long list of accomplishments.

A ring in MLB means winning the World Series. This is something he has not experienced and wants to change it this upcoming season.
(A second Cy Young) is not on the goal list. To go out there and prepare to win a world championship, that’s really at the top of the list.

Gerrit Cole on what he wants to do in 2024 season.

Cole may have not won a World Series yet but he does have the experience of playing in the Fall Classic. He was part of the 2019 Houston Astros squad that faced the Washington Nationals that year. He would end up losing Game 1 but made up for his loss in Game 5 with a win. Unfortunately, his team failed to win the championship that year.

He would now be hoping for a much better outcome on the grand stage than that one. Will the Yankees reach the World Series though is the big question as they had one of their most disappointing season in their history last time out. They will need a much better performance than that to help Cole achieve his top goal.
