King Charles III was not able to meet with his youngest son, Prince Harry, on Wednesday, May 8, due to a “full program” of events. This did not stop His Majesty from taking 15 to 30 mins to meet with football icon David Beckham, even though much was made over a father “snubbing” his son.

“In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the Duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it, unfortunately, will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program,” a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex shared on Tuesday, May 7.

Royal insiders are quick to cite that, “like any of the monarch’s meetings,” these are arranged “months in advance, as Mr. Beckham’s was,” a palace aide spilled.

This follows earlier reports that suggested Charles III and his courtiers knew about Harry’s May 8 appearance at St. Paul’s Cathedral “over a month in advance,” and the sovereign had let it be known he could “always fit Harry in.”

“The King has left the door wide open, but obviously not that wide,” a royal source said about the situation. “But they absolutely can stuff things in his diary and juggle things around.”

This has led to a large amount of criticism directed the King’s way for what was “certainly a snub.”

The monarch met with his youngest son on February 6, the day after he told the world he was battling cancer. “We don’t know how that meeting went, but I do know that the King was exhausted and really keen to get off to Balmoral,” another royal insider privy to that meeting spilled. “He was desperate to be on his way and was delayed until Harry turned up.”

“I was, I have to confess, gobsmacked when I learned that there was to be no meeting between Harry and his father,” royal expert Jennie Bond dished. “I was sure that they would find a lot of time actually, but never mind a lot of time — at least a chance to have a cup of tea or an evening drink or breakfast together or something. There must have been a time in the King’s schedule for that.”

Beckham has long been an avid supporter of the monarchy and has met and praised the work of the King during his time as Prince of Wales.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently enjoyed a tour of Nigeria, and experts think their trip will make it difficult for them to reconcile with the royal family after years of tension.

“The fact is that Harry and Meghan are cocking a snook at their relatives back in the U.K. and this will further damage relations with William and Kate, and King Charles,” Tom Quinn told an outlet.

“When Meghan and Harry were told they could not be part-time working royals it was assumed at Kensington Palace and Clarence House that they would go quietly,” the biographer continued. “The Nigeria trip was Meghan and Harry’s way of saying, ‘We don’t need your permission. We will organize our own royal tours.’”

The commentator later claimed that Charles and William aren’t able to interfere with the Sussexes’ opportunities.

“King Charles and William know there’s nothing they can do in the short term, but it will harden attitudes and make it far less likely the wayward couple will ever be forgiven,” he noted.

When Meghan and Harry were in the royal fold, the duo was expected to advocate for Queen Elizabeth within the British Commonwealth, and the Duke of Sussex previously shared that his wife’s African American heritage should’ve been recognized as a valuable asset to the institution.

“It’s ironic that the late Queen wanted Harry and Meghan to very much be her ambassadors throughout the Commonwealth and spread goodwill among its fifty or so nations, but they didn’t want to do it as royals,” Phil Dampier told an outlet. “Now they are happy to pick and choose invitations they receive from these countries.”

He later suggested the American-based royals are trying “to set up a rival court, their own royal roadshow.”

OK! previously reported American royal commentator Kinsey Schofield noticed the difference in how Harry and Meghan navigated attending events in the West African nation.

“I do think that Meghan is the skilled, trained actress, and Prince Harry has a bit of a problem hiding some of his anxiety sometimes,” Schofield told GB News. “Meghan being by his side certainly calms him down and helps him out throughout that process.”

“I mean, I understand that their objective is to court Nigeria for a future Invictus Games,” the American royal commentator noted. “I think that they probably did a great job doing that.”

The podcaster noted that Meghan’s outfits and style choices became a trending topic online.

“This was great PR for them because if you just Google Meghan Markle today, 90 percent of the headlines are about how glamorous her wardrobe was, how beautiful she was,” the journalist explained.

Prince Harry is still technically a “senior royal,” but left working for the monarchy, and the U.K. as a whole, in early 2020, with Meghan Markle and Prince Archie. Despite the animosity that has followed since then, the former frontline prince likely misses this one certain aspect of his previous calling.

“The one part of being a working role that Harry really misses is the chance to meet the public — however insecure he feels as a royal, he has always felt totally secure as a celebrity,” royal expert Tom Quinn shared “This has its origins in the fact that when he was a teenager, he had to employ a full-time secretary just to deal with his fan mail.”

Five years on since the nail biting conclusion of US legal drama Suits, the brains behind the franchise have officially kicked off filming on the brand-new spinoff series Suits: LA.

News of a new show set within the Suits universe first broke earlier this year, and followed on from the original series’ growing popularity on Netflix, after it was added to the streaming giant’s global catalogue back in June 2023.

Millions of viewers tuned into the series, which starred Patrick J Adams and Meghan Markle and swiftly made history as the most viewed acquired streaming title to ever make it onto the platform.

Following the exploits of Patrick’s character Mike Ross, the series charts his journey into the legal profession after he blagged his way into a law firm despite never having attended law school. The original series was set in New York, and as the title for the latest iteration suggests the new series will be set in Los Angeles, just a stone’s throw away from Montecito, that Meghan now calls home in real life.

Featuring a cast headed up by Arrow alumni Stephen Amell in the title tole, The Walking Dead’s Josh McDermitt and Lex Scott Davis will also be joining the lineup, according to Deadline. However one quest,ion that continues to buzz among fans, is whether or not Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex will be returning to the small screen to reprise her role as Rachel Zane.

While no official news about Meghan’s return has been confirmed, her former co-star Patrick Adams did tease the potential for the return of both their characters as he told ET at this year’s Golden Globes : “”Sure. Mike and Rachel in Seattle. They gotta come down to L.A., they gotta fix some stuff,” he shared of a potential plot line. “She’s pretty popular right now,” he added of his royal co-star on the carpet. “Did you hear about Meghan? I’ll tell you later.”

He also later confirmed that he and several of his co-stars would all be willing to make an appearance as he later added: “If we got the phone call, if I got the phone call, I’m ready to suit up again,” he told ET. “I love the show, I love the character. And I loved working with all these people.”

There’s never been a British monarch called Alexander, but there have been three Scottish monarchs with this adorable moniker. Prince William and Kate went for Alexander as a middle name for Prince George when he was born, perhaps in a nod to Queen Elizabeth’s father King George VI. However, Alexander has a special link to the late Queen herself.

The feminine form of this – Alexandra – was one of Queen Elizabeth’s middle names. She was named Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, seemingly after her mother Queen Elizabeth, her great-grandmother Queen Alexandra and grandmother Queen Mary.

The future Queen and King have also publicly shared several of their nicknames for George, Charlotte and Louis at engagements over the years too.

Prince William was heard referring to their daughter as “Mignonette” which roughly translates to “little sweet” when the family visited Kate’s Back to Nature garden at the 2019 Chelsea Flower Show. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales is said to have called Princess Charlotte “Lottie” during a visit to Northern Ireland that year.

Reports have also claimed that the doting parents use the names “PG” and “Tips” for Prince George after his initials which then link to the British tea brand, PG Tips. Prince Louis’s nickname is another cute one and was revealed during the family’s day of volunteering during the coronation weekend last year when they were roasting marshmallows.

King Charles and Kate Middleton are currently battling cancer, and royal experts believe the king is being protective of the Princess of Wales as she juggles her health challenges and raising her three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

“It has always been Kate’s choice to prioritize her children’s well-being over royal duties,” he shared. “In the past, Charles has remained silent about this and allowed the sniping from the sidelines to continue. But no more. Now the king brooks no criticism of Kate, period.”

Charles returned to “forward-facing duties” in late April, but Kate is still avoiding the spotlight.

“Other royal family members and courtiers alike know that they risk being read the Riot Act by the king if they dare utter a negative syllable about Kate,” Andersen alleged. “Charles has also made it clear that everyone should stand down in terms of when and how she returns to a full public schedule.”

According to the biographer, Charles was emotional after seeing Kate’s social media post.

On April 25th, the Prince of Wales left St. Michael’s Church of England High School with presents for his wife, who announced on March 22nd that she is undergoing chemotherapy. The school’s senior mental health lead, Carrie Whitehouse, explained that the gifts included Lego sunflowers, as building things is therapeutic and sunflowers represent happiness, positivity, and strength. They also included sunflower seeds to sow seeds of positivity. “We didn’t want to give flowers but something significant to represent the theme of the day,” said Whitehouse, referring to the mental health-focused outing. He thanked us and said the Legos would go down well in the house with the Royals, likely referring to the couple’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

According to the school official, they also gave Princess Catherine a crocheted starfish, which comes with a story about making differences to others, and a little something for their three children. Prince William received crocheted well-being worms for the children and positivity cards written to them involving emotion wheels. According to a surplus volunteer, the father of three connected a dish to his three children when he saw it being prepared at the hub. William pointed at the food and said, “That’s spaghetti hoops,” the pasta mentioned to no surprise to royal watchers, as celebrity chef Aldo Zilli previously revealed that Prince George’s favorite meal is an elevated spaghetti.

Catherine has since withdrawn from the spotlight, yet Prince William has returned to work. The father of three has spoken several times about his many public commitments and assured the country that he is caring for the princess. Charles Leclerc will take part in his sixth Monaco Grand Prix this coming weekend, and so far, the Monegasque hasn’t had much luck in his home race. A dream of his remains to lift the winner’s trophy in the streets he grew up in. As such, a supposed ‘curse‘ that prevents him from fulfilling the same won’t deter the excitement he has heading into this year’s outing.

Leclerc said,

“It’s the same roads that I took by bus to go to school when I was younger. Now it’s in a Formula 1 car. So that makes it extra special for me. So I’m really looking forward to it.”

He detailed how the practice session in Monaco will be of utmost importance. Per the 26-year-old, Ferrari’s pace has always been good in the Principality, and adding the element of excitement with it being his home race, Leclerc is optimistic about this year’s Monaco GP.

However, the ‘curse’ in question has prevented Leclerc from achieving glory in Monaco, not just in F1 but even during his F2 days. In 2017, a year before he made it to F1, he was forced to retire his car in both the Sprint and Feature F2 races. Hoping to get over it in an F1 car, things only got worse for Charles Leclerc thereafter.

On the other hand, Leclerc is riding high in confidence at the moment. Although he hasn’t been competing for race wins this season, Leclerc has been a regular feature on the podium. With this in mind, he will look to approach his home race with the same goal and put an end to his curse.

The ‘curse’ that has haunts Charles Leclerc

In his first Monaco GP in 2018, Leclerc’s race came to an end through no fault of his own. Brendon Hartley hit the back of his car going into the Nouvelle Chicane, and while Leclerc thought that was the worst of it, it was just the start.

A year later, a strategic blunder led to Leclerc getting eliminated in Q1, and in the race, he had to retire his car after making contact with the wall at Rascasse.

After a year’s hiatus, the Monaco GP returned in 2021 where Leclerc got pole position. But due to damages sustained to his car, Leclerc couldn’t start the race. 2022 was arguably his best chance of winning the Monaco GP, as a front-row lockout all but guaranteed him the victory; because overtaking in Monaco is extremely difficult.

Unfortunately for Leclerc, Ferrari made a strategic error again. It dropped him down to P4, infuriating the hometown hero. And in 2023, Ferrari was simply not fast enough to compete for a win as Leclerc finished P6.

Sergio Perez’s Red Bull contract comes to an end with the conclusion of the 2024 season. The #11 driver is keen to continue his journey with the team. But Perez has a specific demand with respect to a possible extension. The Mexican driver wants a two-year deal at the very least. Despite his demands, team principal Christian Horner believes him to be an easy guy to deal with.

When asked whether the details of Perez‘s contract had been finalized, Horner said (as quoted on X (formerly Twitter)), “Checo is always a very straightforward guy to deal with, so I wouldn’t expect that to be an issue.”

There has been no official comment from Red Bull with respect to Perez’s demands. However, team advisor Helmut Marko is counting on the Mexican driver to retain his seat. Speaking about his current form, the Austrian expressed no desire to look elsewhere.

Sergio Perez has been a solid support act to his teammate, Max Verstappen. The 2024 season had started on a strong note for Perez, who has secured four podiums for the Milton-Keynes-based team so far.

2023 was a tough year for Sergio Perez. After a very strong start to the season, he suffered a massive dip in form. This led to speculation of him being axed from the team as well. But he recovered well enough in the second half of the season to clinch P2 in the Drivers’ standings.

This has opened the Mexican up to immense criticism from the experts. Many have even called for his sacking. Perez’s disappointing eighth-placed finish at the 2024 Emilia Romagna GP would not have helped his cause either, given how he was knocked out of Q2 during Qualifying as well.

If the team does choose to not renew Perez’s contract, they have a fair few options lined up for them. As things stand, Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda look like the prime candidates. But Horner has maintained that a driver from outside of Red Bulls’ pool of talent can also be scouted as a possible long-term replacement.
