  • Dear Kanye: No, you are not a white man

Dear Kanye: No, you are not a white man

Who can save a man who believes self-hatred is the way of salvation?

I remember the first time I wanted to be white.

It was Easter Sunday. The California sun brightened the insides of the church that sat on a hill in Monterey. The lights were dim as the

pastor walked across the stage, asking the congregation who wanted to be baptized.

I raised my hand as the music played, a soft mellow bounce between bluegrass and cultlike chants. They immersed my body in the

baptismal pool. When I came up, stripped of the “blackness” of my own soul (or so they thought), the whole congregation clapped. I

had become new. I’d given up the old things — the Holy Ghost-powered sweaty praise breaks; the long, erotic sermons that blended

liberative jeremiad and Jesus; the mothers of the church passing a dollar here or there; the stories grandaddy told of Black country

people defying the worst of white country hatred.

I was free of it all. I prayed.

When I went down in that cold water, I never noticed a curious thing about that day: I was one of only two Black men in the

congregation of at least 100. When I came up “new,” I was not Black – I was Christian, they said.

A few days before I’d decided to be born anew, I called my mama to tell her about my decision. “Hey, ma,” I said, excitement rubbing the insides of my throat. “I think I want — … I think I’m going to get baptized again.”

I could feel her confusion jump from South Carolina all the way to California. “What do you mean?” she said.

“Ma, all that stuff we were taught as kids was wrong,” I said. And by all that stuff I meant all those Black sermons and Black praise breaks and Black recipes after Sunday services and the Black culture that was the backbone of our church. “I’m not Pentecostal,” I told my mother. “I’m reformed. I’m getting baptized again.”

Funny thing is, neither of us knew what that really meant — but we knew what it did. How letting go of my Black faith tradition made me change the way I talked, the way I dressed, the way I walked, the way I worshipped, and the words I said. I did more than go down and come up wet and white as snow. I turned my back on my ancestors’ traditions and on all the ways the Black South loved me.

When I hung up the phone, my mother was hurt and angry. Still, I was determined to be with white people, to do what they did, and to have what they had — power, protection, privilege. And they gave it. And I had it. Until I lost it.

That’s what haunts me about Kanye West.

Ihave been thinking a lot about Ye, as he calls himself now, lately. After weeks — years, really — of being forced to endure yet another iteration of his foolishness, I want to ask him: Bruh, is it really worth it?

When Ye rolled out “White Lives Matter” shirts at his Paris fashion show earlier this month, I shook my head. While some thought he was trolling, I saw the stunt as an example of self-hatred and shame. Then came the interviews. Ye spewed his anti-Blackness, antisemitism, and misogyny to anyone who would listen, from Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News and Drink Champs to British broadcaster Piers Morgan and MIT research scientist Lex Fridman. After watching his erratic and dangerous ramblings, I wondered, “Can he survive this?” But then, almost as quickly, I asked myself, “Do I actually want him to?

After all, in an attempt to “win” and gain power and influence, Ye has weaponized hatred in the same ways some white men (see: former President Donald Trump, conservative talk show host Sean Hannity, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, etc.) have weaponized hatred to win. In an rambling appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ye said that he empathized with straight white men because “nobody gets judged more” than them.

Though Kanye is losing right now — according to him, to the tune of $2 billion — let’s be clear: As a Black man, he has been able to get away with things that Black women and LGBTQ+ people couldn’t, because Ye lives in the “right” body and they don’t. Thanks to his stunts, many Black people did stop supporting him. But others didn’t — which may be one reason Ye’s anti-Blackness and misogyny were not the straws that finally broke the camel’s back. He was a wealthy Black man in America, singing songs in the name of Jesus, and therefore, like so many Black men, untouchable and unmoved.

“So what do you think about Ye?” my barber asked me recently, wondering if I thought he was mentally ill or a genius, or both. “What do you think about what he said?”

If I’m honest, there is a part of me that wants Ye to lose, to be brought low and humbled. Maybe then he’d stop talking so recklessly. I told my barber that I don’t think anybody who builds their platform on hate should win. Those who traffic in antisemitism or racism or misogyny or anti-gay bias shouldn’t be able to gain anything in this world, nor I don’t think they should be able to profit from other people’s pain. I don’t think racists or anti-gay people should be able to eat without being shamed, and I think they deserve to be booed wherever they go until they realize that you cannot cause harm and move about the world unscathed.

People like Ye shouldn’t be able to make antisemitic statements that encourage Nazis to praise them like they’re the second coming of Christ. Nope. Not now. Not ever. Let’s be clear: Hatred is not just about what you do. It is also about who feels empowered by what you say. And when you empower people who hate, you should lose, and lose badly, and in ways that make you change.

After losing deals and lots of money, Ye has found out that no matter how proximate you get to whiteness, you can never really fully be accepted into its power (unless you’re someone like Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas — whom writer Mitch Jackson calls the most powerful Black man in America). While Ye has turned into the personification of mess around and find out, white folks (such as Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville or billionaire Elon Musk) who traffic in hate continue to thrive.

But Ye scares me. He scares me because I know just how powerful a tool a hurt and hateful Black man can be for the white racist agenda (just look at Senate candidate Herschel Walker). Despite his claims, Ye is not free. His slavery is an actual choice. His hatred is an actual weapon. And whatever version of Ye this is, I don’t want it to survive — though I want him to get the help he truly needs.

“A straight white male can’t say, ‘My wife hurt me today,’ because people will say you’re hurting women. A straight white male can’t say, ‘A Black employee didn’t come in to work on time,’ because people will say, ‘You’re racist.’ A straight white male can’t speak on a homosexual person because people will say you’re homophobic,” he droned on.

Despite Ye’s insistence that straight white men are the most maligned group in society, he said he still wants what they have always had: power.

He is no liberator or lover of Black people. He is a weapon and worshipper of white retaliation.

He doesn’t just want to live in whiteness. He longs to disappear inside of it.

And who can save a man who believes becoming white is the way to become free?

Bianca Censori in Trouble: Kanye West Ignores Her ‘Deal Breaker’ and Accepts Lavish Gift That Seems to Be Taken Away

Bianca Censori is facing a challenging situation after Kanye West, her partner, disregarded what she described as a ‘deal breaker.’

The drama unfolded when Kanye accepted an extravagant gift that has since become a point of contention.

The relationship between Censori and West has always been a topic of public fascination, but this latest incident has fans and

followers on the edge of their seats. According to sources close to the couple, the lavish gift in question was a luxurious car, given to

Kanye by an anonymous benefactor. While many might see this as a gesture of generosity, Bianca perceived it differently.

Bianca had previously made it clear that accepting such expensive gifts from external parties was a significant boundary for her. She believed that it could lead to misunderstandings and complications, particularly given Kanye’s high-profile status. Despite her concerns, Kanye decided to keep the car, sparking rumors and speculation about the state of their relationship.

The situation took a turn when the benefactor reportedly decided to retract the gift, citing personal reasons. This sudden reversal has left both Bianca and Kanye in an awkward position, with the media and fans eagerly watching their every move. The retraction has only added fuel to the fire, leading to widespread speculation about the true nature of the couple’s relationship dynamics.

Bianca’s friends suggest that she feels disrespected and unheard, while Kanye remains unperturbed by the incident. This difference in their reactions has led to further discussions about compatibility and mutual respect within their relationship.

As this story continues to develop, it remains to be seen how Bianca and Kanye will navigate this public and personal challenge. Will they manage to resolve their differences, or will this ‘deal breaker’ lead to more significant issues? Stay tuned for more updates on this unfolding drama.

This incident underscores the complexities of high-profile relationships and the impact of external influences. It also highlights the importance of setting and respecting boundaries, even in the world of fame and fortune.

Bianca Censori no longer wants to be used as a marketing tool by Kanye West

Is there a crisis between Kanye West and Bianca Censori? The two have been able to monopolize the media’s attention on every outing

as a couple for several months now. In particular, it is impossible not to notice and not pay attention to the bold and provocative

    appearance of the 29-year-old girl.

These outfits that leave little to the imagination have caused controversy and even some concern. Many have theorized that the woman did not fully consent, but rather that she was controlled by her partner and not in complete control of her actions. Parents themselves also expressed doubts about their daughter’s behavior. While sources close to the couple have so far denied this version, today an insider confided the designer’s concerns to Mail Online.

It was as if she had realized that she had crossed the line so she no longer liked those sick eyes directed at her. Kanye West’s wife must be tired of being taken advantage of by her partner during the release of his next album. At this point, while he really wanted to raise the bar even higher, she instead wanted to take a step back.

Therefore, there will be disagreement about the image management of the designer, who has no intention of being exploited again because of the release

From Bianca to Kim, Julia and Amber: A look at all the partners Kanye West has tried to change – and how far he managed to push it

Kanye West has had his fair share of romantic relationships while in the public eye.

His behaviour with his partners has come under scrutiny, with accusations he has been ‘controlling’ in his current relationship with wife Bianca Censori.

The rapper, also known as Ye, is said to have banned the Australian beauty from using social media and she only wears the clothes he wants.

His ex-wife Kim Kardashian previously claimed Kanye reduced her to tears after he threw out all of her clothes he didn’t like.

Meanwhile, his former girlfriend Julia Fox admitted to feeling like a ‘show monkey’ while dating him while his other ex Amber Rose has branded him a ‘bully’.

MailOnline takes a look back at all the times Kanye has tried to change his exes – and how far he managed to push it.

Kanye has been accused of exhibiting controlling behaviour in his relationship with Bianca.

He is thought to have banned her from using social media to protect her from negative comments, according to insiders, who claim her friends believe it’s really another tactic to further ‘isolate’ her.

Despite the architectural designer’s loved ones even staging an intervention concerning her relationship with the rapper and his ‘controlling ways,’ her husband appears to have changed her attitude towards social media.

‘Bianca has always had social media and she was active on it – until she married Kanye,’ an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com.

‘He doesn’t want her to have it because he thinks that it will hurt her if she had to read the nasty things that people say.

‘He convinced her that, since she is a star now, she has to remain a mystery and it is creepy to those who know her as it feels like another form of control.’

However, friends have taken issue with the fact the rapper, who goes by the name Ye, is posting racy images of his wife on his own Instagram account – despite allegedly claiming she needs protection.

The insider added: ‘He is pushing her nakedness all over his own [account] so that he can control her narrative. It is disturbing, and by shutting her off from the world he is causing her to become more and more isolated.’

Bianca Censori BARES ALL while out in Paris with Kanye West

Friends are said to be stunned to see the usually assertive designer going along with Kanye’s demands as the source stressed: ‘This strong Bianca that was not going to deal with his s*** anymore has seemingly vanished once again.

‘She is wearing what he wants, going where he wants and doing what he wants because she really has no other choice. She went from being his designer to his wife, which is unfortunately, not a paid position. She’s trapped.’

Back in October, DailyMail.com revealed that the Grammy-winning rapper had instructed his wife to ‘never speak’ – and issued her a set of rules to live by, including specific foods she can eat and what she can wear.

Insiders claimed the designer has ‘no mind of her own anymore’ and instead simply ‘obeys’ the controversial rapper, because he has convinced her they have ‘royal’ status.

‘Kanye has a set of rules for Bianca, which includes never speak and wear what he wants her to wear,’ the source explained. ‘She is also required to eat certain food items and to work out even though Kanye doesn’t work out.’

Bianca and Kanye secretly wed in December 2022, just one month after he finalized his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

Julia Fox admits she ‘turned a blind eye’ to Kanye’s ‘red flags’

Kanye had a highly publicised relationship with the actress Julia Fox in January 2022, with the pair dating for just over a month.

However, the rapper managed to exert his influence over the Uncut Gems star during that time.

On their second date, he reportedly bought her an entirely new wardrobe of clothes, and, according to Julia, encouraged her what to wear and how to styler her hair.

In her book Down The Drain, she wrote: ‘I don’t know how he did it, or how he got all of it there in time. But I was so surprised. Like, who does things like this on a second date? Or any date!’

‘I definitely see what I like but I’ve never really been the visionary. Kanye would come in and be like, ‘You should do your hair like this. You should do your makeup like this.’ That’s his love language, it’s clothes.’

Julia claimed Kanye tried to control what she would wear everytime they went out and also told her he wanted to assign a group of people to work on her wardrobe.

She also wrote in her book that on one occasion they went out, she was told to meet her new stylist in the restaurant bathroom who allegedly offered her several outfits to change into.

Julia also claimed Kanye offered to pay for her to get a boob job after seeing her modelling some of the new clothes he had approved.

But Julia didn’t appreciate Kanye’s in put and wrote that constantly wearing what he wanted her to wear made her feel like a ‘show monkey’.

If Kanye’s eagerness to have a say over what his partner wears, it’s because he did the same thing during his marriage to Kim Kardashian.

Kim previously told how Kanye immediately wanted to change her wardrobe when they first started dating and had no problem telling her she had bad fashion sense.

Speaking at the Business of Fashion’s inaugural BoF West summit, Kim recalled: ‘I always thought I had really good style—until I met my husband and he told me that I had the worst style. He was really nice about it and cleaned out my whole closet.’

According to Kim, Kanye reduced her to tears when he cleared out her wardrobe.

She said: ‘I probably had 250 pairs of shoes and when we were done cleaning it out, I had two pairs left and I cried.’

On an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she added: ‘Our whole trade-off was that if I got rid of my clothes, he’d fill up my closet. But now I’m freaking out. Like, I could literally cry.’

Kim also claimed Kanye would regularly email her fashion advice complete with mood boards and once told her she could not wear big sunglasses anymore.

However, Kim doesn’t appear to hold any hard feelings and believes Kanye taught her more about fashion.

She said: ‘There were racks of clothes of designers I have never heard of before like Lanvin and Givenchy. I didn’t know that then.

‘I kept everything because it was really sentimental to me. I wanted to learn. When he did that, he wanted to teach me.’

Amber had a highly-publicised two-year relationship with Kanye when they dated from 2008 to 2010.

The relationship ended badly however, with Amber later revealing the pair were ‘two very different people’.

Like his other exes, Amber has previously told how Kanye also encouraged her to wear the clothes he liked and once styled her for an Elle magazine photoshoot.

The rapper spoke publicly about his relationship with Amber and once cruelly joked he needed to take ’30 showers’ after their breakup.

Firing back on the No Jumper podcast, Amber said: ”He has picked on me for 10 years. He has bullied me for 10 years.’

She added: ‘I’m a compassionate person. I have empathy. I’m a good person. That’s why people love me. That’s why anybody I’ve ever dated loved me.

‘You can’t really mention anyone that says anything really bad about me – except for him, because I got away.’

Unlike Kim, Amber doesn’t feel she learned anything from her relationship with Kanye and said they are not ‘at all’ alike.

She added: ‘I don’t really think about him like that. For me, it’s some guy that I dated 10 years ago.’

Kim Kardashian has suffered an injury following her appearance at the Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week.

The reality TV star, 43, stepped out sporting a bandage on her finger for a lunch at Costes in the French capital on Sunday.

Kim still managed to chic a cut a trendy figure as she channelled her inner mob wife aesthetic and donned a fabulous animal print fur coat.

Risen from TikTok‘s black hole of micro-trends, the mob wife aesthetic is replacing last year’s clean aesthetic for a more flashy, garish vibe that is typically littered with designer logos, animal prints and fur coats.

Her pricy floor-length garment, which she paired with a blood-red manicure, featured dramatic lapels and a sturdy leather belt.

She finished off her power look with a pair of oversized statement sunglasses and her typical slick back bun.

As Kim stepped out of her blacked-out Mercedes, she flashed her latest preferred footwear as she flaunted a pair of sock-styled stilettos.

Earlier on Sunday Kim led the arrivals to the star-studded Balenciaga show during Paris Fashion Week.

The icon flaunted her hourglass physique in a figure-hugging black lace dress as she posed up a storm heading to watch the runway show.

She looked great in the chic number which cinched her in at the waist and had a sexy low scooped back design.

Kim wore her dark tresses in a sleek pony tail and opted for a typically glamorous makeup look for the event.

It comes after earlier this year Kim was blasted by fans after revealing she has become an ambassador for Balenciaga, one year after the brand faced controversy for an advert featuring children and BDSM items.

The reality TV star announced her partnership with the label, helmed by creative director Demna Gvasalia, in January.

The mother-of-four previously refused to cut ties with the fashion house but said she was ‘shaken and disgusted’ by the images which sparked a backlash against the brand.

‘Of all the brands, she had to choose the one with child abuse allegations. Not even surprised though…’ one person wrote, while another branded her a ‘hypocrite’ adding, ‘Money is all that matters to her.’

‘Where’s she gonna keep all the money and fame when she’s gone?’

‘So we forgot about the kid bondage thing? lol’ one commentator inquired.

Howard Stern is fed up with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following the rollout of the couple’s new Netflix documentary series “Harry & Meghan.” The streamer debuted the first three episodes of the show on Dec. 8, with three more episodes set to follow on Dec. 15.

“It’s been painful,” Stern said of watching the series (via Mediaite). “I don’t — I wouldn’t stay with it, but my wife wants to watch it, so, you know, we have shows we watch, but they come off like such whiny bitches. I gotta tell you man, I just don’t get it.”

“I get Prince Harry being pissed off at the monarchy for his mother,” Stern continued. “They treated her like shit…I feel bad for Prince Harry losing his mother and all that. So you got my empathy there. But Jesus Christ, when those two start whining about ‘wah wah wah, and they don’t like me’ and she wants to be beloved in this country…it’s just very weird to watch two people who keep screaming, ‘We wanted our privacy, we wanted the press to leave us alone.’ And then what is their special that they put out on Netflix — showing you them and their kids and their life. It’s like the Kardashians except boring. You know what I mean?”

Stern expressed confusion over what Harry and Meghan want out of releasing their six-part Netflix series, asking, “Where do you go with this? Is this your career…talking about how humiliated you were being part of, I don’t know, living in a castle — and it’s hard to relate to. It’s like, it looks pretty terrific to me. If it was me, I never had to worry about money and never had to worry about work.”

Stern predicted that one day Harry will leave Meghan, telling his listeners, “I think he’s eventually not gonna dig her. I’m telling you.”

“Harry & Meghan” has generated worldwide interest since debuting on Netflix. BBC journalists have been actively refuting points the couple make it the series, including one claim that an engagement interview they gave to the BBC in 2017 was “orchestrated” and “rehearsed” by the network. British media figures have also been fighting back against the couple’s claim that they set out to “destroy” Meghan.

In his review of “Harry & Meghan,” Variety critic Daniel D’Addario wrote that the series finds the couple mostly rehashing past revelations. He added, “There’s an air of duty about the entire enterprise of ‘Harry & Meghan,’ as if they’re honor-bound to keep reciting their personal story until we eventually lose interest.”

Heads may roll if Howard Stern ever visits the U.K.

The shock jock slammed the U.K.’s newly-crowned King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla in his radio show on Monday, calling the king a “pussy” and the royal couple “vampires.”

“England’s got to get a grip on themselves,” Stern said. “I understand maybe it brings in tourism but Jesus H Christ. First of all Prince Charles is a pussy. That’s number one. And people are acting – the whole ceremony they’re acting like that fucking guy went to war or something and then beat up all the other people.”

“They’re like ‘We swear our allegiance to you and you’re a great warrior,’” Stern continued. “I mean the whole thing is fucking nuts and in this day and age.”

Stern claimed his outrage was because of the fact that the U.K. is currently enduring a cost-of-living crisis that contrasts with the tens of millions dollars spent on the King and Queen’s lavish coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday (which was attended by Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Emma Thompson, among others) followed by a star-studded concert at Windsor Castle on Sunday.

“It was disgusting and I’ll tell you why it’s disgusting,” said Stern. “It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to say this but England’s having its own economic problems and they spent a fortune on that coronation. And it’s just repugnant to watch a country who’s suffering through economic problems and then you see the pomp and circumstance. I’m not naive. I understand that they’ve determined that having a monarchy brings tourists in and provides a flavor to the country and something for people to go see, it’s part of the tourism, I get all that, I’m not naive. But it just sends the wrong message.”

Stern was also disgruntled by a pre-recorded VT on Sunday night’s “American Idol” which featured the king and queen with Perry and Richie.

“I watch ‘American Idol,’” said Stern. “And those two showed up – King Charles and King Camilla or whatever she is. Camilla the Queen. King Kong, whoever the fuck, showed up there. And they marched out, they’re like two wooden boards, they’re like vampires, they’re stiff. And Katy Perry and Lionel are talking to them. I thought they were cardboard cut outs at first they wheeled [on].”

It’s not the first time Stern has criticized members of Britain’s royal family. He called King Charles’s son Prince Harry and Harry’s wife Meghan “whiny bitches” following the release of the couple’s Netflix documentary last year.

“It’s like the Kardashians except boring,” Stern said of the series.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are senior royals, but as non-working members, are not allowed to use their royal styles and titles in public. This didn’t stop the Duchess of Sussex from “sounding like a full-on princess” next to her Duke during a speech about mental health at an Abuja, Nigeria, school.

“I see myself in all of you. It is a complete honor to have our first visit to Nigeria,” the Suits star said on behalf of the Montecito pair.

The duo are in the African nation on behalf of the nation’s government but are taking measures to ensure locations connected to their foundation are highlighted, such as the school the two visited on Friday, May 10.

Speaking to GBN’s Nana Akua, royal author Tom Bower said the “tour” was “yet another milestone in their intention to snub and humiliate the British royal family.” He added: “The casualties and victims of their selfish touring are [the royals] and Britain itself.”

Bower continued: “This interference in Nigeria, a country which is a very important member of the Commonwealth, by the Sussexes who d—– the Commonwealth in their notorious Netflix series, is really quite another milestone in their intention to snub and humiliate” the monarchy.

Akua then highlighted emerging details about how Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Foundation is spread throughout the country, and the couple are mostly just visiting beneficiaries of the charity.

“But I think the accounts on that foundation didn’t appear to have very much money, so I’m curious about this one,” she asked Bower in response to Archewell’s “going into the red” months earlier.

He replied: “I think they gave the Nigeria something like £20,000, a pittance. This is all about promoting the brand and this is all about their own selfish endeavours to actually assert themselves as terribly important people. And they’ve got a problem with that because they’re not very important. The only thing they do have is their names and their connections to the royal family.”

“What else are they going to do, represent the monarch and the British government to promote bilateral peacetime ties, trade, and/or investment — that ship has sailed,” a royal insider laughingly spilled about the trip and the Archewell Foundation.

They added: “This is pure and simple for Netflix and Meghan’s brand, and how they promote racism throughout the Commonwealth of Nations. They tried to nudge the King to give them a pre-tour photo op when Harry was in London, but he made his mother and ancestors proud by seeing right through the scam. His Majesty nor our ancient British Crown are for hire.”
