Taylor Swift ‘didn’t leave house for a year’ after Kim Kardashian released infamous Kanye phone call

‘Make no mistake – my career was taken away from me,’ Swift says

Taylor Swift has reflected on the aftermath of Kim Kardashian releasing the infamous 2016 phone call between the singer and Kanye

    West.

The 33-year-old spoke candidly about the phone call leak – which was an apparent discussion about West’s controversial song,

“Famous” – during a recent interview withTime, published on 6 December, after she was named the publication’s 2023 Person of the

    Year.

Taylor Swift 'didn't leave house for a year' after Kim Kardashian released infamous Kanye phone call

In 2016, Kardashian released clips of a conversation between her then-husband and Swift, in which the pop star appeared to approve

of West’s lyrics about her in his song. In the song, West sang: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that b****

famous.” Following the release of the tune, a representative for Swift denied reports that she had ever approved of the lyrics. When an

unedited version of the conversation was released in 2020, there was no point in the clip where West mentioned that he would call

Swift a “b****” in the song or claim he “made her famous”.

Speaking to Time, Swift said that when Kardashian released the phone call, which made it look like the “Cruel Summer” singer had

approved of the lyric, it felt like it was “a career death”. She said: “Make no mistake – my career was taken away from me.”

She continued to explain how the phone call impacted her reputation, claiming: “Kim Kardashian edited [it] and then put [it] out to

say to everyone that I was a liar.”

Swift recalled how the 2016 leak of the phone call affected her mental health, before revealing that she even moved to a new home to hide from the attention. She also described how the incident impacted her relationships with those around her.

“That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year,” she said. “I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

In March 2020, when the full phone conversation between Swift and West leaked online, the “All Too Well” singer first appeared to accuse the rapper and his then-wife of “editing and manipulating” parts of the phone call that had come out in 2016.

While introducing a post about donating to charities on her Instagram Stories, she wrote: “Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about *that call* (you know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family and fans through hell for four years)…SWIPE UP to see what really matters.”

Kardashian later responded on Twitter, writing: “@taylorswift13 has chosen to reignite an old exchange – that at this point in time feels very self-serving given the suffering millions of real victims are facing right now.”

She alleged: “I didn’t feel the need to comment a few days ago, and I’m actually really embarrassed and mortified to be doing it right now, but because she continues to speak on it, I feel I’m left without a choice but to respond because she is actually lying.”

Kardashian alleged she “never edited the footage” of the 2016 call, and then went on to explain why she was coming to her then-husband’s defence.

“Kanye has documented the making of all of his albums for his personal archive, however has never released any of it for public consumption and the call between the two of them would have remained private or would have gone in the trash had she not lied and forced me to defend him,” she tweeted at the time.

While Swift has since moved on from her feud with West, she’s appeared to make some subtle references to the rapper on various occasions. As she was about to start her rendition of “Champagne Problems” during one of her Eras Tour shows in Mexico City in August, she was interrupted by fans chanting her name. In response, she expressed how grateful she was for that kind of interruption, as opposed to others, seemingly alluding to when West ran on stage during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards and grabbed the microphone from her while she was giving her acceptance speech for Best Video by a Female Artist.

“It’s the best way to be interrupted, by the way, just people chanting your name. It’s really the only way to be interrupted… and I would know,” she told the crowd at her concert in August.

The Independent has contacted representatives for West and Kardashian for comment.

  • Can anyone explain why Kanye West is so popular?

Can anyone explain why Kanye West is so popular?

Can anyone explain why Kanye West is so popular?

I consume tons of music and am not shy of admitting my love for pop songs, but I have never really understood the craze with Kanye

West. One constantly sees Kanye news and he is clearly a highly influential individual, perhaps especially because of his public antics.

But one thing I do not understand is why he is considered this musical genius. Kanye West is constantly referenced in pop culture as

this great musician and how he produces so high quality stuff. I have listened to many of his hits, like Jesus Walks, Gold Digger,

Diamonds, etc. But I they seem to be average songs at best. The rap is not very interesting, many songs seem to be remakes of older

songs. Runaway is probably the best one I can find, but the singing is not what makes it memorable.

Not going to go into an analysis of his songs, but I just don’t get it. I have read articles written by people answering this or promoting

his songs they make no sense, just basically saying the song is great and how it reflects on something in Kanye’s life.

Is it because of his personality? Whenever I see him in interviews he comes across as extremely unlikeable, and clearly has some

    serious issues.

I am not American, maybe that is part of why I do not get it, but if anyone who likes Kanye is out there, I would love to hear what it is

that gets you interested? What are your favorite songs? I am really curious to get this, I feel completely out of the loop.

EDIT: Wow, what a response! I really got a lot out of this thread so far, reading every comment. Posted some of the best

recommendations in a comment and my personal takeaways.

Kanye West Calls Out Adidas While Sharing Alleged Internal Document: ‘It All Comes Down to Human Rights’

Kanye West Calls Out Adidas While Sharing Alleged Internal Document: ‘It All Comes Down to Human Rights’

Ye had put the apparel giant on blast earlier in the week for putting his Yeezy line back on the market.

Kanye West isn’t letting up on Adidas. The rapper — who now goes by Ye — took to Instagram Thursday night (Feb. 29) to share photo

of an alleged corporate document instructing the apparel giant’s employees how to talk to consumers about the company

    Kanye West

Kanye West on the runway at the adidas Originals x Kanye West YEEZY SEASON 1 fashion show during New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 at Skylight Clarkson Sq on Feb. 12, 2015 in New York City.Theo Wargo/Getty Images for adidas selling the Yeezy line once again.
With a publish date of Feb. 26, the alleged internal doc explains: “Adidas is the sole owner of the product, including the design rights

for existing products as well as previous colorways. The products are existing Yeezy designs initiated in 2022. Adidas honored

contractual obligations and discussed releasing products prior to the announcement with the former partner.”

The document also appears to ask employees to not continue extensive conversations with customers surrounding the Yeezy line, and

instead points them to a general email to voice their concerns.

“This is the document that they give employees at adidas when asked questions about Yeezy,” the rapper claimed in the caption of his

post. “There is an overlap to adidas and Kim ignoring my opinion … or people ignoring my name change or the entire celebrity culture

ostracizing me for my political opinion It all comes down to human rights which you sacrifice when you’re stigmatized with mental

issues All these situations are actually far crazier than what I’ve been branded to be.”

Billboard has reached out to reps for Adidas for comment, and has not yet been able to verify the veracity of the document. Billboard has also contacted reps for Ye and Kim Kardashian, who was married to the rapper from 2014 to 2022.

Adidas announced Monday that it would sell some of its remaining Yeezy inventory, after splitting with Ye in 2022 following his string of hate speech and antisemitic comments. Since discontinuing the partnership, Adidas says it has donated some proceeds from such sales to groups that “combat discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.”

After Adidas’ announcement this week that Yeezys are returning to the market, Ye put the brand on blast for selling “fake Yeezys” and called for his fans to boycott the company altogether.

“Anybody who loves Ye would not buy these fake Yeezys I never made these color ways I’m not getting paid off of them and adidas is suing me,” he wrote at the time. “All the new non-approved 350’s are cooorny and everybody know the 350 been corny.”

He also alleged that Adidas was suing him for $250 million, but as of earlier this week, there’s no evidence that Adidas has filed any kind of new lawsuit against West or his companies.

However, Adidas disclosed that it had filed a private arbitration case against West’s Yeezy LLC in December 2022 on the grounds that

the rapper’s “racist, antisemitic, and other offensive public statements and conduct” had violated their partnership agreement and had

caused “considerable damage to its brand.”

The ‘Crazy Spoiled’ Lives Of Kim Kardashian’s Kanye West Children – Mini Lamborghini Cars To £1 Million Wardrobes

The ‘Crazy Spoiled’ Lives Of Kim Kardashian’s Children – Mini Lamborghini Cars To £1 Million Wardrobes

In the realm of celebrity culture, few families garner as much attention and intrigue as the Kardashian-Jenner clan. From

groundbreaking reality television to fashion empires and social media dominance, their influence is unparalleled. However, it’s not

just the adults in the family who capture headlines; the lavish lifestyles of their children often steal the spotlight. Among them, the

offspring of Kim Kardashian West, arguably the most famous of the clan, live lives that can only be described as “crazy spoiled”.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West THREATENED to cut their nannies' pay if the children woke them up - Masala

At the forefront of this opulent lifestyle are Kardashian West’s four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. From the moment they entered the world, they were destined for luxury and extravagance. While some may argue that such excess is excessive, others see it as the natural byproduct of being born into one of the wealthiest and most influential families in the world.

One of the most iconic symbols of the Kardashian children’s lavish lifestyle is their fleet of mini Lamborghini cars. These pint-sized replicas of the luxury sports car come in a variety of colors, customized to suit each child’s unique personality. From sleek black to vibrant pink, these miniature vehicles are a testament to the family’s penchant for excess.

But it’s not just their toys that set the Kardashian children apart; it’s also their wardrobe. With a combined net worth in the billions, Kim Kardashian West spares no expense when it comes to dressing her offspring. From designer labels to custom-made couture, the children’s wardrobes are worth an estimated £1 million. Each outfit is carefully curated to ensure that the little ones are always dressed to impress, whether they’re attending a red carpet event or simply playing in the backyard.

Of course, with great wealth comes great scrutiny, and the Kardashian children are no strangers to criticism. Some argue that such extravagant spending sets unrealistic standards for other families, while others question the message it sends to impressionable young minds. However, Kardashian West has been quick to defend her parenting choices, insisting that she wants nothing but the best for her children.

In the end, whether you see the Kardashian children as the epitome of excess or simply the beneficiaries of their parents’ success, one thing is clear: their lives are anything but ordinary. From mini Lamborghinis to million-pound wardrobes, they inhabit a world where luxury knows no bounds. And as long as their parents continue to reign supreme in the world of celebrity, it’s safe to say that their “crazy spoiled” lifestyles will only continue to make headlines.

  • Dear Kanye: No, you are not a white man

Dear Kanye: No, you are not a white man

Who can save a man who believes self-hatred is the way of salvation?

I remember the first time I wanted to be white.

It was Easter Sunday. The California sun brightened the insides of the church that sat on a hill in Monterey. The lights were dim as the

pastor walked across the stage, asking the congregation who wanted to be baptized.

I raised my hand as the music played, a soft mellow bounce between bluegrass and cultlike chants. They immersed my body in the

baptismal pool. When I came up, stripped of the “blackness” of my own soul (or so they thought), the whole congregation clapped. I

had become new. I’d given up the old things — the Holy Ghost-powered sweaty praise breaks; the long, erotic sermons that blended

liberative jeremiad and Jesus; the mothers of the church passing a dollar here or there; the stories grandaddy told of Black country

people defying the worst of white country hatred.

I was free of it all. I prayed.

When I went down in that cold water, I never noticed a curious thing about that day: I was one of only two Black men in the

congregation of at least 100. When I came up “new,” I was not Black – I was Christian, they said.

A few days before I’d decided to be born anew, I called my mama to tell her about my decision. “Hey, ma,” I said, excitement rubbing the insides of my throat. “I think I want — … I think I’m going to get baptized again.”

I could feel her confusion jump from South Carolina all the way to California. “What do you mean?” she said.

“Ma, all that stuff we were taught as kids was wrong,” I said. And by all that stuff I meant all those Black sermons and Black praise breaks and Black recipes after Sunday services and the Black culture that was the backbone of our church. “I’m not Pentecostal,” I told my mother. “I’m reformed. I’m getting baptized again.”

Funny thing is, neither of us knew what that really meant — but we knew what it did. How letting go of my Black faith tradition made me change the way I talked, the way I dressed, the way I walked, the way I worshipped, and the words I said. I did more than go down and come up wet and white as snow. I turned my back on my ancestors’ traditions and on all the ways the Black South loved me.

When I hung up the phone, my mother was hurt and angry. Still, I was determined to be with white people, to do what they did, and to have what they had — power, protection, privilege. And they gave it. And I had it. Until I lost it.

That’s what haunts me about Kanye West.

Ihave been thinking a lot about Ye, as he calls himself now, lately. After weeks — years, really — of being forced to endure yet another iteration of his foolishness, I want to ask him: Bruh, is it really worth it?

When Ye rolled out “White Lives Matter” shirts at his Paris fashion show earlier this month, I shook my head. While some thought he was trolling, I saw the stunt as an example of self-hatred and shame. Then came the interviews. Ye spewed his anti-Blackness, antisemitism, and misogyny to anyone who would listen, from Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News and Drink Champs to British broadcaster Piers Morgan and MIT research scientist Lex Fridman. After watching his erratic and dangerous ramblings, I wondered, “Can he survive this?” But then, almost as quickly, I asked myself, “Do I actually want him to?

After all, in an attempt to “win” and gain power and influence, Ye has weaponized hatred in the same ways some white men (see: former President Donald Trump, conservative talk show host Sean Hannity, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, etc.) have weaponized hatred to win. In an rambling appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ye said that he empathized with straight white men because “nobody gets judged more” than them.

Though Kanye is losing right now — according to him, to the tune of $2 billion — let’s be clear: As a Black man, he has been able to get away with things that Black women and LGBTQ+ people couldn’t, because Ye lives in the “right” body and they don’t. Thanks to his stunts, many Black people did stop supporting him. But others didn’t — which may be one reason Ye’s anti-Blackness and misogyny were not the straws that finally broke the camel’s back. He was a wealthy Black man in America, singing songs in the name of Jesus, and therefore, like so many Black men, untouchable and unmoved.

“So what do you think about Ye?” my barber asked me recently, wondering if I thought he was mentally ill or a genius, or both. “What do you think about what he said?”

If I’m honest, there is a part of me that wants Ye to lose, to be brought low and humbled. Maybe then he’d stop talking so recklessly. I told my barber that I don’t think anybody who builds their platform on hate should win. Those who traffic in antisemitism or racism or misogyny or anti-gay bias shouldn’t be able to gain anything in this world, nor I don’t think they should be able to profit from other people’s pain. I don’t think racists or anti-gay people should be able to eat without being shamed, and I think they deserve to be booed wherever they go until they realize that you cannot cause harm and move about the world unscathed.

People like Ye shouldn’t be able to make antisemitic statements that encourage Nazis to praise them like they’re the second coming of Christ. Nope. Not now. Not ever. Let’s be clear: Hatred is not just about what you do. It is also about who feels empowered by what you say. And when you empower people who hate, you should lose, and lose badly, and in ways that make you change.

After losing deals and lots of money, Ye has found out that no matter how proximate you get to whiteness, you can never really fully be accepted into its power (unless you’re someone like Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas — whom writer Mitch Jackson calls the most powerful Black man in America). While Ye has turned into the personification of mess around and find out, white folks (such as Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville or billionaire Elon Musk) who traffic in hate continue to thrive.

But Ye scares me. He scares me because I know just how powerful a tool a hurt and hateful Black man can be for the white racist agenda (just look at Senate candidate Herschel Walker). Despite his claims, Ye is not free. His slavery is an actual choice. His hatred is an actual weapon. And whatever version of Ye this is, I don’t want it to survive — though I want him to get the help he truly needs.

“A straight white male can’t say, ‘My wife hurt me today,’ because people will say you’re hurting women. A straight white male can’t say, ‘A Black employee didn’t come in to work on time,’ because people will say, ‘You’re racist.’ A straight white male can’t speak on a homosexual person because people will say you’re homophobic,” he droned on.

Despite Ye’s insistence that straight white men are the most maligned group in society, he said he still wants what they have always had: power.

But as it stands, Ye is no arbiter of Black freedom. He is a provocateur of white supremacy.

He is no liberator or lover of Black people. He is a weapon and worshipper of white retaliation.

He doesn’t just want to live in whiteness. He longs to disappear inside of it.

And who can save a man who believes becoming white is the way to become free?

The drama unfolded when Kanye accepted an extravagant gift that has since become a point of contention.

The relationship between Censori and West has always been a topic of public fascination, but this latest incident has fans and

followers on the edge of their seats. According to sources close to the couple, the lavish gift in question was a luxurious car, given to

Kanye by an anonymous benefactor. While many might see this as a gesture of generosity, Bianca perceived it differently.

Bianca had previously made it clear that accepting such expensive gifts from external parties was a significant boundary for her. She believed that it could lead to misunderstandings and complications, particularly given Kanye’s high-profile status. The situation took a turn when the benefactor reportedly decided to retract the gift, citing personal reasons. The retraction has only added fuel to the fire, leading to widespread speculation about the true nature of the couple’s relationship dynamics.

Bianca’s friends suggest that she feels disrespected and unheard, while Kanye remains unperturbed by the incident. This difference in their reactions has led to further discussions about compatibility and mutual respect within their relationship.

Bianca Censori no longer wants to be used as a marketing tool by Kanye West

Is there a crisis between Kanye West and Bianca Censori? The two have been able to monopolize the media’s attention on every outing

as a couple for several months now. In particular, it is impossible not to notice and not pay attention to the bold and provocative

    appearance of the 29-year-old girl.

These outfits that leave little to the imagination have caused controversy and even some concern. Many have theorized that the woman did not fully consent, but rather that she was controlled by her partner and not in complete control of her actions. Parents themselves also expressed doubts about their daughter’s behavior. While sources close to the couple have so far denied this version, today an insider confided the designer’s concerns to Mail Online.

It was as if she had realized that she had crossed the line so she no longer liked those sick eyes directed at her. Kanye West’s wife must be tired of being taken advantage of by her partner during the release of his next album. At this point, while he really wanted to raise the bar even higher, she instead wanted to take a step back.

Therefore, there will be disagreement about the image management of the designer, who has no intention of being exploited again because of the release
