King Charles, Prince William prepare for joint overseas trip amid royal health woes

Kate Middleton, who reveled her cancer diagnosis in March, is said to be handling the treatment like a “warrior” and focusing on her health.

However, some media outlets, citing insiders, claim the Princess of Wales’s battle with cancer is becoming “more difficult” by the day as the future Queen suffers from some grueling effects of her treatment.

American tabloids have also claimed that Kate Middleton is reportedly going to “great lengths to hide” the discomfort she has been feeling while undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

However, Prince William and Kensington Palace have reveled that Kate is doing well.

There are also speculations and rumours that Kate is suffering hair loss and weight loss while battling an undisclosed form of cancer, which has left her out of the public eye.

Kate Middleton, in her heartfelt video message, pleaded with the public and the world to finally allow her and her family privacy as she’s undergoing treatment.

Kate found about her cancer after major abdominal surgery in January. “At the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” she said in the video.

The Princess revealed: “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

Kate added that the news of her cancer diagnosis came as a “huge shock,” noting that she and William were aiming to “manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,” she said. “But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

  • Prince Harry seems to be willing to rebuild bridges with his family after falling out with them since he and Meghan Markle moved to the US, but William seems reluctant, a pal said

Prince Harry seems to be willing to rebuild bridges with his family after falling out with them since he and Meghan Markle moved to the US, but William seems reluctant, a pal said

Prince Harry would like to reconcile with his family following years of tensions, but friends have claimed this is a “fantasy” as his brother Prince William wants to protect his wife and kids following Catherine’s cancer diagnosis.

Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior royals and moved to the US in 2020, the pair issued a number of attacks against The Firm through interviews, TV shows, and Harry’s memoir, Spare, which was published in January 2023. It now seems that Harry is hoping to build bridges. Following the news of his father’s cancer earlier this year, he declared he loves his family and hoped the illness could have a reunifying effect.

Earlier this month, Harry travelled to London to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, but did not meet his family, even though a spokesperson for the Duke said he hoped to see King Charles “soon”. Amid speculation, a friend of the royals claimed that the major block in the way of reconciliation is coming from the Prince of Wales.

The unnamed friend claimed that at the moment, meeting with Harry is “the last thing” William and his wife Catherine want as they are “avoiding stressful situations” and focusing on her health. The friend, who spoke to The Daily Beast, claimed: “Meeting with Harry is the last thing that William or Catherine want or need right now.

“It’s a fantasy. It’s not about apologies or who said what, it is about protecting his family. Kate is recovering from cancer, and they are avoiding stressful situations.”

Another friend said the meeting between Harry and Charles earlier this year was a “significant step in the right direction” but added the road to reconciliation is still long and the idea that Harry and his children might head to Balmoral with the rest of the family in the summer is “wishful thinking”.

According to a friend of Charles and Camilla, William is “furious with his brother” but this is not sustainable as, once he becomes King, having an ongoing rift with his younger brother could make him look “petty and ridiculous”.

    Harry and William
Harry and William have not been close in recent years
The comments come as royal expert Tom Quinn told the Mirror that Harry has reached out to Princess Kate since he has been living in America. The royal author told us: “Since leaving the UK, Harry has actually contacted at least one royal: Kate.” However, he warned Harry might not receive the welcome he is expecting.

Tom suggested: “She is sympathetic, but fully supports her husband and, struggling with her own health problems, has no intention of playing peacemaker.” Meanwhile, sources have claimed that Harry and Meghan could be invited to Ghana after their “triumph” on their high-profile trip to Nigeria.

The West African country’s officials and leading icons are keen for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex to visit after their “success” in their neighbouring country Nigeria, sources exclusively told The Mirror. Insiders say the country’s leading bigwigs and artistic influencers are keen for the Sussexes to fly to Accra, the capital of Ghana that was so loved by Harry’s late Grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, and they will pull out all the stops to make them feel at home.

Prince Harry ‘playing victim after turning down King Charles olive branch’ – expert

One royal expert says they find it ‘hard to buy’ the claims about why Prince Harry reportedly turned down an offer by his father King Charles to stay at a royal residence on his recent UK trip

Prince Harry in Nigeria earlier this month

Prince Harry is “playing the victim” after he reportedly turned down an olive branch from King Charles over security concerns, a royal expert has claimed.

Royal insiders claim that the Duke refused an offer from the King to stay in a royal residence during his UK stay earlier this month. It is said the offer was knocked back because it did not come with any security provision and he would be in a “visible location with public entrance and exit points and no police protection”.

Instead, Harry stayed in a hotel which meant that he had no reunion with the King, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. His team swiftly released a statement saying his dad was effectively too busy to see him.

But speaking to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said Harry’s reported excuse “does not wash”. She explained: “I find it very hard to buy the argument that Harry wouldn’t feel safe in a royal residence. They are heavily guarded, as you would expect and there are usually several ways of getting in and out of palaces and castles, so he wouldn’t necessarily have to be seen.

“I’m afraid it does rather sound to me like Harry trying to make himself into a victim once again when we are told that the offer was there for him to stay in a royal residence.”

Harry has been embroiled in a long-running case against the Home Office after it was ruled in 2020, when he moved to the United States, he would no longer be given the “same degree” of publicly-funded protection when in the country. The Duke’s case has been rejected but there are now plans for an appeal.

During the case, the High Court was told that Harry believes his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet cannot “feel at home” in the UK if it is “not possible to keep them safe”. Since moving to the US, Archie and Lilibet have only been to the UK once, with Charles only having one face-to-face meeting with his youngest granddaughter.

And according to royal biographer Ingrid Seward, the security issue looks to be the barrier when it comes to a royal reunion. She told the Mirror: “Harry and Meghan’s security fears could well be a stumbling block to any kind of reunion with the Royal Family. But no doubt they have been invited to Balmoral this summer.

“As the late Queen discovered, Scotland offers the only quality time a monarch has to devote to family. It would be very sad if Charles was denied the pleasure of seeing his grandchildren just because of Harry’s unfounded security woes.”

She continued: “The King is wary of his troublesome son. Whatever he does to try and help him is turned into a snub. Nothing is ever Harry’s fault. It is either the fault of the British Government, or the lack of security afforded him by the Metropolitan Police. They have offered him a ‘bespoke’ arrangement, assessing each visit individually.

“Not good enough for Harry. He had his own arrangement to stay at a luxury private hotel where the entrance and exit are hidden from peering eyes and cameras and even the hotel staff don’t know what VIP guests are staying.”

  • A reporter has revealed a candid interview with Victoria Beckham left her “angry” and vowed to never speak to him again

A reporter has revealed a candid interview with Victoria Beckham left her “angry” and vowed to never speak to him again

A former top showbiz journalist has dished the dirt on a candid interview he did with Victoria Beckham which left the former Spice Girl “furious” and vowing to never speak to him again.

UK entertainment reporter-turned-PR Dean Piper shared the story on his personal website this week,

revealing that he fronted up to a swanky London restaurant in February 2012 for what was planned as a sit-down interview with Beckham about her fashion line.

Piper, who was working for the Sunday Mirror at the time, recounted that he and Beckham seemed to get along famously,

sipping champagne as she pushed their interview time well beyond their allotted 15 minutes.

Beckham had given birth to her youngest child, daughter Harper, just seven months earlier, and spoke honestly about the difficulties of juggling motherhood with her workload.

“I’m not getting much sleep at all,” she told him. “Harper’s not sleeping that great, and I’ve been taking Skype business calls throughout the night too because of the collections. I’m up with the baby as all mums are and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s not a team of people doing it for me,” she said.

“And then people want to say I look crap. Well, I’m a working mum, so give me a break.”

When the interview eventually wrapped, Beckham still in good spirits, Piper told her she’d been much more enjoyable company than her “moody fashion maven” persona suggested.

“Look, if people want to say I’m f***ing miserable then so be it,” she told him. “I’m really not. I have a lot on my plate. I’m not going to lie about it, I’m tired. I’m really tired but I’m also very happy with my life. I’m basically just like any woman who’s working and has lots of children – it’s tough.”

Piper recalled that he raced back to the office to write up the story for the next day’s papers, where it was teased on the cover with a blurb reading: “Posh fumes: ‘If people think I’m f***ing miserable then so be it.’”

Cue disaster. Soon, a text came in from Beckham’s publicist, telling him that the interview had “caused such a s**t storm.” She told him Beckham was “furious” with she swear words being included and “hated” the written interview, which she thought made her sound like she was exhausted and struggling to cope with her life.

Piper claimed he later learned Beckham’s own mother had also chastised her about swearing so much to the press.

To placate her, Piper took the swear words out of the online version of the article, but the next day came another text from Beckham’s PR: “She’s not calming down about it at all. She’s said she will never work with you or the paper again too. Sorry. X”

10 months later, when Piper fronted up to a Spice Girls press call for their ill-fated West End musical, he received another warning from Beckham’s PR over text that Posh was still angry, and still did not want to talk to him.

And it seems she carries that grudge to this day: Piper writes that his Sunday Mirror scoop is, to date, the last tabloid newspaper interview Beckham ever did. Despite several London near-misses, he and Beckham have never crossed paths again.

Piper recounting of his Victoria Beckham encounter is part of a series of posts he’s written in recent days about his experiences with each of the Spice Girls – among them, his time working with Melanie C during a pivotal point in her solo career and the story of one sad night in a hotel room with Mel B when she was trapped in an abusive marriage.

Meanwhile, Beckham recently celebrated her 50th birthday with a star-studded London bash which gifted fans that rarest of sightings: A five-piece Spice Girls reunion.

A Notting Hill pub formerly owned by David Beckham and Guy Ritchie reopens on 1 November with a new look – and an owner who thinks he can make a success where Becks couldn’t.

Publicans Jack and Poppy Greenall say they want to bring “an important landmark of hospitality back to life” following David Beckham and Guy Ritchie’s ownership.

In 2018 David Beckham and Guy Ritchie purchased the pub but in March 2022 it was quietly taken over by hospitality entrepreneur Piers Adams, as reported by Hot Dinners.

It’s not clear why David Beckham pulled out of pulling pints, nor Guy Ritchie, who also owned The Punchbowl in Mayfair until 2013.

London pub David Beckham 'failed' to run reopens with stylish refit

Following their ownership the pub was briefly turned into a Scottish restaurant but that also shut down after a brief run.

The food will focus on provenance, with Ginger Pig and Flying Fish produce, and drinks largely sourced from independent brands like Rothhaus, Harbour Brewing and Sassy Cider.

The pub now hopes to honour the history of the building, which dates back to 1845. Owners hope the venue becomes a community pub, and it will also cater to events with private spaces for hire. The refit has been managed by Isabella Worsley Ltd, a West London design studio, and incorporates historical features.

Rupert Bevan, a local furniture maker, has designed the bartop, and drawings and paintings are championing British artists. There will also be an cultural event series, with events and talks focusing on topics like conservation, horticulture, design, art and literature.

Jack and Poppy Greenall told City A.M.: “We were really excited to take on the Walmer Castle. It is a beautiful building with a rich and storied history that we felt passionate about upholding. We have kept the historic features of the building, but we’ve managed to make it a modern operation with a fantastic kitchen and bar serving top quality produce, and timeless interiors working with designer Isabella Worsley.

“While we have modernised parts of the building and given it a refresh, we wanted to make sure that the essence of a traditional pub was retained – a warm, friendly place that is welcome to all.”

  • Why is David Beckham still banned from interviews at Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson?

Why is David Beckham still banned from interviews at Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson?

In the world of soccer, some moments become etched in history, while others fade away with time.

For Manchester United legend, David Beckham, one such moment came in the summer of 1996 during a Premier League clash between Manchester United and Wimbledon FC.

Just 21 years old at the time, Beckham unleashed a strike that would not only make headlines but also change the course of his career forever.

However, surprisingly as a result of his thunderous goal, he suffered an unexpected ‘ban’ by his manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.

It was a goal that announced Beckham’s arrival as a global superstar, and it cemented his place as one of the greatest of all time.

But what happened after Beckham scored that goal? The Englishman recently revealed Sir Alex Ferguson’s reaction to his strike.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s surprise ban on David Beckham

As the latest Netflix documentary titled ‘BECKHAM’ unfolds, David Beckham recounts the moment that sent shockwaves through the soccer world. It was the opening game of the Premier League season in 1996, and Manchester United was facing Wimbledon FC.

With Manchester United already holding on to their 2-0 lead in the game, Beckham found himself with the ball near the halfway line. In a split-second decision, he took a shot, and what followed was nothing short of extraordinary. The ball soared over Wimbledon’s goalkeeper and went inside the net.

The audacious strike from David Beckham left the crowd erupting in celebrations, along with his teammates, who rushed in to congratulate Beckham. However, David Beckham revealed in his documentary that as he walked off the pitch, basking in the glory, he was met with a surprising directive from Sir Alex Ferguson. The legendary manager approached him and said, “David, you get on the bus and you don’t say a word. No interviews.”

The words from his manager left him baffled and curious. But, Beckham revealed that although he was surprised by Ferguson’s decision, he understood that the manager had his reasons. “He was trying to keep my feet on the ground,” Beckham says. “He didn’t want me to get carried away by all the hype.”

Why did Sir Alex Ferguson ban Beckham from giving interviews?

Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision to ban Beckham from giving interviews might be motivated by a number of factors. He wanted to keep Beckham’s feet on the ground. Ferguson knew that the free-kick specialist was a talented player, but he also knew that he was still young and inexperienced. He didn’t want Beckham to get carried away after the goal, and he wanted him to focus on his next match.

Sir Alex Ferguson also knew that Manchester United were a big club and that they had a responsibility to their fans to win trophies. He didn’t want Beckham to get distracted by his individual success, and he wanted him to focus on helping the team achieve their goals. Although Ferguson was a demanding manager, he also cared about his players and wanted them to succeed.

The ‘BECKHAM’ documentary series has given fans a unique opportunity to delve into the life and career of one of soccer’s most iconic figures. David Beckham’s revelation about the post-goal silence imposed by Sir Alex Ferguson adds a new layer of intrigue to his legendary journey. The story of Inter Miami’s owner David Beckham and his career is a testament to the notion — that actions speak louder than words.
