Meghan Markle and Prince Harry warned of ‘two outcomes’ if she continues to outshine him

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent tour of Nigeria was dubbed ‘The Meghan Show’ by a Royal expert, who claimed the Duke is ‘entirely in his wife’s shadow’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been warned of “two outcomes” if the Duchess continues to outshine the Duke.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently made headlines during their high-profile visit to Nigeria, sparking speculation as some observers noted that Harry appeared “worried” while Meghan seemingly stole the spotlight. This marked the duo’s first official international outing since their dramatic exit from Royal duties four years ago, following closely on the heels of Harry’s solo return to the UK for the Invictus Games anniversary.

Royal commentator Duncan Larcombe shared with OK! that, at 39, Harry seems to be comfortably “playing second fiddle” to his more dominant wife, Meghan, aged 42. “Meghan is a very strong character, very driven, extremely ambitious, and those are the kind of characteristics that mean she will almost always inevitably outshine Harry and grab the attention from him,” Duncan explained. “Harry is entirely in her shadow. But he’s never really been at ease with the attention, he’s never really enjoyed it.”

But also weighing in on the couple’s dynamic, Dr Sona Kapur, founder of Serenity Psychological Services and a clinical psychologist, told OK! Magazine that there are usually two potential outcomes when one person overshadows the other in a relationship. If Harry is content being outpaced by Meghan, it signifies “strong self-assurance and mutual support”, though she points out this isnt always the case.

She added “It can add pressure if not managed well, potentially causing feelings of inadequacy or resentment. Success requires open communication, mutual support, and ensuring both partners have opportunities to pursue their interests and shine.”

Duncan added: “Whether it’s deliberate or not, Meghan is definitely a magnet for attention. Although we saw a huge amount of money spent on her combined outfits for Nigeria so maybe it’s not a complete accident that she steals the limelight. Their Nigeria trip was ‘The Meghan Show’ and Harry was the side.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, on Friday, 10 May, without their two children, five year old Prince Archie and two year old Princess Lilibet. They spent the next three days immersed in planned activities such as visiting hospitals and schools, engaging in a seated volleyball session with veterans and Meghan delivering an empowering speech on women in leadership that drew significant media attention.

As official snaps of the visit began to surface, with Meghan often pictured in vibrant outfits while Harry sported solely beige or black ensembles, some suggested Harry looked uneasy and apprehensive alongside his wife. Body language specialist Darren Stanton clamed that despite the couple looking “filled with joy” at moments, Harry often appeared “worried” under the scrutinising limelight.

“They often display different emotions when they’re carrying out visits or engagements together as a team,” he said, speaking on behalf of Betfair Live Casino. “In Nigeria, we saw Harry looking slightly worried and not quite himself from time to time. We could see his eyebrows angling down, and a few of his facial expressions and smiles weren’t the most genuine from him. This can suggest Harry was feeling apprehensive and a bit nervous.”

Darren claimed he noticed “a few signals of apprehension” coming from Harry, “which tells us he could be feeling slightly on edge and not knowing how to act.”

As usual, Meghan’s wardrobe was a hot topic – especially next to Harry’s muted tones and after she addressed her style at the Women in Leadership event. Dressed in a scarlet-red long dress, Meghan told the audience “I very quickly got the memo that I need to wear more colour so I can fit in with all of you in your incredible fashion.”

It also didn’t go unnoticed that some of Meghan’s looks were strikingly similar to those of her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, when she visited the same country back in 1990. During her visit to the Lightway Academy on day one, Meghan wore a blush pink maxi dress called “The Windsor Gown”, which sells for over £1,000. She accessorised with a gold collar necklace and large gold stud earrings incredibly like the ones worn by Princess Diana when she toured the West African country with King Charles.

Former Royal Editor Duncan has claimed that Meghan and Harry’s wardrobe choices would have been meticulously planned to convey specific messages. “Critics of Meghan would say she fully embraces basking in the sunshine and attention, she really is very meticulous about what she wears and how she carries herself,” he added.

Duncan also suggested that Meghan “dominated” the headlines during their trip, not only due to her own personality but also because Harry prefers to avoid the spotlight. “It’s a combination of Meghan’s personality and drive, and also a reflection of Harry’s willingness not to steal the limelight and frankly, feeling more comfortable playing second fiddle to his wife,” he said.

What Anthony Joshua said to Eddie Hearn immediately after Oleksandr Usyk’s historic victory over Tyson Fury to become undisputed world heavyweight champion

Anthony Joshua’s first words after Tyson Fury’s heavyweight defeat by Oleksandr Usyk have been revealed.

The Brit was sat front row for the crowning of the first undisputed champion of his division this century, with Usyk winning via split decision having rocked his opponent in the ninth round.

The defeat was Fury’s first of his career, and he claimed post fight that he felt he had won the bout and that people were siding with Ukrainian Usyk ‘because his country is at war’.

There is set to be a rematch later this year, thought it won’t be for the undisputed title, with Usyk set to be forced to vacate his IBF title in the coming weeks.

The winner of that eventual fight could go onto face Joshua, whom according to his promoter Eddie Hearn, picked the winner of the bout in the immediate aftermath.

Hearn told BoxNation: ‘I went over to him after the fight and I said, “What do you think? Who’s got it?”

‘He went, “Are you joking?” I went, “No”. He went, “Usyk’s the clear winner”.

‘I was like, “A lot of people felt like that”. I had him winning, but narrowly.’

The post-fight scorecards revealed that Usyk only had to avoid a final round knockdown to win on points.

Manuel Oliver Palermo of Spain, Craig Metcalfe of Canada and Mike Fitzgerald of the United States were the judges for the bout in Riyadh, with Metcalfe giving the win to Fury but the other two Usyk.

Fury controlled the bout early, showboating as the Ukrainian struggled against the bigger man, but the eventual winner grew into the contest to control the middle and end of the fight to claim the win.

Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has said the rematch ‘will happen’, and is set to be pencilled in for October, again set to take place in October.

Joshua, meanwhile, was seen speaking to Cristiano Ronaldo throughout the bout as he has next to the star footballer, who plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.

The Brit is looking to climb to the top of the heavyweight division himself following a devastating knockout victory over Francis Ngannou in March, with many believing he will take on the winner of the rematch.

He lost twice to Usyk in 2021 and then 2022, but has never faced off against Fury in what would be one of the biggest British heavyweight bouts of all time.

Tyson Fury suspended from boxing after brutal defeat to Oleksandr Usyk… but Gypsy King is still set to activate rematch clause

Tyson Fury has been handed a one-week ban from boxing following his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last weekend.

The Gypsy King suffered his first professional defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday in Saudi Arabia, losing split decision after the judges scored the bout 115-112, 113-114, 114-113.

It meant that Usyk became the first boxer since Lennox Lewis in 1999 to unify the heavyweight division after taking the WBC title off Fury, which was added to his WBA (Super), WBO, IBF and IBO titles.

Fury was in big trouble on the ropes at one stage of the fight with many arguing that the referee could have stopped it.

And it has been revealed that the UAE Boxing Commission gave him a rather meaningless one-week medical suspension which meant that he would not have been allowed to fight until this weekend.

The Brit suffered nothing more than cuts and bruising from the brutal 12-round contest.

Usyk, who had to be taken to hospital after the fight due to fears over a broken jaw, is not allowed to compete until June 2.

Fury and Usyk look set to run it back later this year with promoter Frank Warren confirming his fighter’s intention to activate his rematch clause.

‘There will be a rematch,’ Warren said. ‘I think it will be better than the original fight.’

‘They both know each other, they’ve shared the ring and they’ll be looking to use what they’ve gained from the fight as an advantage to beat their opponent.’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry anniversary: Inside lavish hotspot where Sussexes celebrated

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have frequented the luxury restaurant in Montecito before, and it’s a favourite with celebrities including James Corden, Katharine McPhee and Carol Burnett

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry joined pals as they stepped out for a fancy dinner celebration at a popular Montecito restaurant.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined close friends Brian and Tracey Robbins as they visited Lucky’s, an upmarket steakhouse that has been a beloved favourite of the former working royals. The two couples have grown close, with Tracey receiving one of the limited edition jars of homemade jam from Meghan’s new brand American Riviera Orchard.

Since settling in California in 2020, the restaurant has had numerous visits from Meghan and Harry, who are known to enjoy the hotspot’s steak menu. Stepping out this time, Meghan and Harry celebrated six years of marriage since their lavish wedding day in May 2018. The couple

Steaks start at $86 (£68) with a porterhouse costing a whopping $175 (£138) and side orders starting at $16 (£12.50), meaning it’s certainly not a budget eatery and one that would have seen Meghan and Harry splashing out with their pals. The wine list is also pricey with bottles of champagne starting at $99 (£78) and rising to $140 (£110).

This isn’t the first time Harry and Meghan have visited Lucky’s, they’ve previously enjoyed date nights at the restaurant as well as helping Meghan’s pal Katharine McPhee and her husband David Foster celebrate their baby news in 2020 with a three hour dinner at the hotspot. It’s also had other celebrities seen enjoying its menu, including former Late Late Show host James Corden who visited with his family and comedian and actress Carol Burnett.

The restaurant currently has four stars on Tripadvisor, with some critics slamming the place as ‘a disappointment’ whereas others revealed it was the perfect venue for a special occasion. One person left a review: “Love the location, the food was outstanding best we had in LA. Steak was to die for and so were fries.” Whilst another shared: “We wanted to have a really fun casual time in Santa Barbara / Montecito and Lucky’s is somewhere we have always liked to go but it’s gone so downhill!!”

The visit to Lucky’s comes for Meghan and Harry after they successfully completed a three day trip to Nigeria, in what some have likened to a royal tour – despite the couple no longer being working royals. It also appears there will be similar trips for Harry and Meghan on the cards in the future, as in a message thanking the people of Nigeria following their return home, they described it as “the first of many trips”.

Tyson Fury ‘officially activates rematch clause with Oleksandr Usyk’ in the wake of his defeat in Saudi Arabia… after Ukrainian ‘applied for exemption’ to stop him facing the mandatory challenger

Tyson Fury has officially activated a rematch clause to fight Oleksandr Usyk, according to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum.

The Ukrainian defeated Fury last weekend in a spilt decision victory to become the first fighter since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999 to unify the belts.

However, Usyk was in danger of being stripped of his IBF Championship due to the fact he was meant to make a mandatory title defence against Croatia’s Filip Hrgovic.

With this in mind, IBF President Daryl Peoples confirmed that Usyk officially requested an exception to keep his IBF heavyweight world title for a Fury rematch, rather than being stripped for not facing his IBF mandatory challenger.

Now, it appears his wish has been granted after Arum confirmed that Fury has activated a rematch clause with his Ukrainian counter-part.

Uysk requested an exemption to keep his IBF heavyweight title – despite the fact that Croatian boxer Filip Hrgovic (above) is the mandatory challenger – in order to rematch Fury instead

According to talkSPORT, Arum relayed the news before saying: ‘That fight will take place either at the end of this year or the beginning of next year in Riyadh.’

Hrgovic has been the top heavyweight contender since an August 2022 win over Zhilei Zhang.

The Croatian will be in action next weekend when he takes on England’s Daniel Dubois as part of the Matchroom vs. Queensberry 5-v-5 in the same Saudi Arabia venue where Usyk tasted victory last week.

Usyk went into his titanic clash with Fury knowing that his undisputed reign could possibly last only two weeks – given the mandatory challenger.

The threat of a short undisputed reign and splinter of the belts was always a possibility when the original date of Usyk’s clash with Fury was made.

However, it was further complicated after the pair’s fight was pushed forward following the injury to Fury’s eye that saw the bout moved to a later date.

Now, the 37-year-old wants to extend the run with all four belts, so he can defend them against the Gypsy King once again in their expected rematch later this year.

Prince Harry and William are ‘notoriously stubborn and can’t see a way out of poisoned atmosphere’

Royal brothers Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship is a far cry from being mended, with a royal expert claiming they ‘can’t see a way out’ as the royal rift has continues

The royal rift between Prince Harry and Prince William has reached new levels due to both the Prince’s stubbornness, claims a royal expert.

The royal brothers are thought to be stuck with both of them struggling to ‘see a way out of the poisoned atmosphere’, according to one expert who believes Harry will need to apologise if the royal family is ever to resolve the fallout. Tensions between the siblings have peaked in recent years, following controversial comments and admissions in interviews and Harry’s 2023 autobiography ‘Spare’.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn exclusively told us at the Mirror: “The fallout between William and Harry has gone on far too long, but both men are notoriously stubborn. William feels that the Royal family has been badly damaged by his brother and Harry feels that William has always treated him as an irrelevance.”

He continued: “The only way back for Harry is a proper apology and a promise to stop pretending to be the working Royal he refused to be when he left the UK. Both Meghan and Harry, and William and Charles, hate the fact that they are stuck in this poisoned dysfunctional atmosphere, but with the family breakdown having been played out in public for so long, they cannot see a way out of it. Harry wants an apology and to be allowed to do what he wants and William and King Charles want Harry to stay quiet and go away.”

The comments come as Prince William has recently teamed up with his father King Charles in a show of royal solidarity. last week the monarch handed over a significant royal baton to his eldest son, as Prince William takes over as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps from his father -a position King Charles held for more than 30 years.

Despite the tradition that sees the Prince of Wales inherit the Colonel-in-Chief role, Harry’s personal history with the corps, where he learned to pilot Apache helicopters and was awarded his provisional wings by his father before his Afghanistan tour, makes this transition poignant and potentially a difficult one for Harry to watch from afar.

The display of unity between Charles and William came just over a week after Harry, 39, arrived in the UK for his Invictus Games anniversary ceremony. While he attended the service at St Paul’s Cathedral, his father was meeting members of the public at a Buckingham Palace garden party. The Duke’s spokesman said Charles’ “full programme” of engagement prevented them meeting face to face, meaning they have not physically spoken to each other since Harry visited his father following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Meghan and Harry celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary with an intimate dinner at a seriously swanky restaurant near their California home, where they were accompanied by close pals

When Harry and Meghan tied the knot, their fairytale royal wedding was filled with A-list guests. And since moving to sunny California, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have embedded themselves even further into Hollywood circles.

The couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary last weekend, and opted to mark the occasion at an intimate fancy dinner with a handful of close pals.

Fashion designer Tracey Robbins and her husband Brian, the CEO of Paramount Pictures, reportedly joined Harry and Meghan at the swanky Lucky’s steakhouse – said to be one of Harry’s favourite spots since moving to Montecito a few years ago. The glamorous restaurant has played host to some serious stars over the years, including popstars like Ariana Grande and Katy Perry.

Other A-listers who have been spotted at the upmarket eatery include Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres, but it’s not Meghan and Harry’s first rodeo. Back in 2020 the Sussexes enjoyed dinner with music industry stalwart David Foster and his wife Katharine McPheewhen, lapping up the California sunshine by dining outside, according to reports. Meghan also popped into the lavish restaurant last year for a bite to eat. A waiter from the restaurant confirmed to Business Insider that Meghan and Harry were “totally normal” during their visit in 2020.

The menu of the steakhouse offers a range of dining options at eyewatering prices, with a porterhouse steak setting you back $175 (£139.79). Given a side of simple sauteed mushrooms costs whopping $20 (£15.72), the prices are certainly fit for royalty and A-list celebrities alike.

The hidden detail in Prince Harry’s statement that hints at his relationship with Prince William has been revealed and it speaks volumes.

A royal expert has delved into the statement released when it was revealed King Charles would not be meeting Harry on his visit to the UK earlier this month. Giving extraordinary insight into the relationship between the pair, Royal historian and author Gareth Russell claims that the fact Prince William wasn’t even mentioned in the statement, spoke volumes.

Prince Harry didn’t see any other members of the royal family – including King Charles – with a spokesperson for Harry explaining this was down to the monarch’s busy schedule. The statement addressed only his father, and excluded his brother and wife Princess Catherine of Wales.

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Willkinson, Russell claims the fact Prince William wasn’t mentioned at all speaks volumes, saying, “That’s really interesting. I think it’s being picked up on that it almost was just taken as read that this time they wouldn’t meet, which in itself, the silence tells its own story, doesn’t it, that this time, no one expected the two of them to meet.”

Meanwhile, it was revealed Prince Harry was granted a royal request by King Charles ahead of his trip to the UK before ‘snubbing’ it, according to an expert. Harry was in his homeland earlier this month when he travelled solo from his home in California to London to attend several events connected to his successful Invictus Games. The Duke of Sussex has had a rocky bond with his royal relatives, especially his brother Prince William, after slamming them in his memoir, Spare, and in his and Meghan Markle’s infamous chat with Oprah Winfrey.

However, there had been a glimmer of hope that his relationship with his Charles had been on the road to repair – especially after father and son had a short meeting when the monarch revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer. However, when Harry came to the UK several weeks ago, his spokesperson confirmed he would not be meeting his father, who had a “full programme”.

In the latest episode of the podcast The Royals with Roya and Kate, the Sunday Times royal editor Roya Nikkhah says Harry had actually asked if he could stay at a royal residence during his UK trip – a request, which was said to have been granted by his father, but Harry ultimately stayed in a hotel.

She explained: “All the narrative from the moment he touched down and we got that statement from Harry’s spokesperson saying it’s not possible for Harry to see his father’ and ‘Harry had said his Pa is too busy to see me,” raised eyebrows with her.

“I just thought something didn’t feel quite right about this, so I dug away and dug away a bit deeper and found out that actually, Harry had asked if he could stay and Charles had said yes, come and stay son. You come and stay in a royal residence, you are near where I am so it’s going to be much easier for me to see you given what’s going on with my diary and your diary.

“And that turned everything on its head because of the narrative from Harry that I wanted to see my father but he is too busy to see me actually the reality was Charles said yes please do come and stay in a royal gaff and that would make it much easier for me to see each other.”

And in response, The Times assistant editor Kate Mansey revealed: “Someone at the palace told me that the King was bruised by that statement that Harry put out, which all plays into exactly why.”

Prince William delighted royal fans this week when he let an adorable detail about youngest son Prince Louis’s bedtime routine slip during a Buckingham Palace garden party

During his latest public engagement at this week’s Buckingham Palace garden party, Prince William let slip an adorable detail about youngest son Prince Louis’ bedtime routine. The 41 year old heir to the throne stepped out in style earlier this week to host the annual occasion alongside his cousins Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall.

Sadly, his wife Kate Middleton was unable to attend as she is currently recuperating from her cancer treatment, but he was joined by author Rowan Aderyn at the bash, a member of William’s own Homewards foundation, which aims to fight homelessness. During the event, Rowan gifted the Prince with a copy of his book, Homewards and William couldn’t have been more thrilled.

“The gift was one that William greatly appreciated,” reports Us Weekly, before telling the author that he couldn’t wait to share the book with his son Louis. “This is great, so inspirational,” William said. “I’ll read this to Louis tonight at bedtime.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time William has mentioned a book by name when it comes to his children, as the royal is a bid proponent of reading to his children before bed. Back in 2020, the doting dad spotted a copy of Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson during a visit to a South Wales ice cream parlour, before admitting: “I read this to our children all the time,” the Daily Mail reports.

In the same conversation the Prince even joked that it had saved many bedtimes, with William also recalling how he had met the actor herself while presenting her with a CBE. “I said, ‘Do you realise how many parents you have saved at bedtime?’” he recalled.

In addition to Julia’s work, William is also a huge fan of David Walliams’ books, with the senior royal even branded them “really, really good” in a glowing string of praise for the former Britain’s Got Talent judge.

It isn’t just William and his children that are avid readers however, but also their mother Kate too, who previously delighted fans by taking over CBeebies’s bedtime hour to delight children around the country as she read the book The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark, by Jill Tomlinson back in 2022.

But the 42 year old is not the first member of the Royal family to read a children’s story on television, and is actually following in the footsteps of her father-in-law.

King Charles published his own children’s book, The Old Man of Lochnagar – which he wrote to raise main for The Prince’s Trust – back in 1980 and, four years later, he took to our screens to read it.
