Mike Tyson turned his back on Jake Paul as he used a ‘gun-shot’ gesture during their face-off.

Paul and Tyson came face-to-face for the second time this week in Arlington, Texas as part of their press tour to promote their July 20 encounter in the squared circle.

Things had been respectful and amicable between the fighters during their opening event in New York, but things became more heated as they traded insults this time out.

When brought to the front of the stage to face-off, Paul decided to try to get in the face of his rival by posing as if he was ready to land a punch on Tyson.

The heavyweight legend initially stood there completely unfazed and then responded by raising his hands, as if to suggest he wanted no part in the antics.

Tyson then proceeded to turn his back on Paul, at which point the ‘Problem Child’ made a gesture in the shape of a gun towards his bemused opponent.

The undisputed world champion has seen it all before at press conferences during his successful 20-year professional career spanning 1985 to 2005.

He kept his business-like facade during the staredown and is unlikely to be intimidated by the YouTube star in any shape or form.

But he was clearly more open to trading verbal barbs with Paul than earlier in the week, as they spoke to promote the fight.

He said: “I don’t see too many people critical about it. Look at this.

“I was doing this years ago, so this is nothing new to me. This is new to this young boy over here.”

Paul then responded: “I hope you all keep that same energy when I knock this old man out.

“In due time, I will be fighting for a world championship. And I will be making you eat your own words.

“I respect Mike. But it’s time. It’s my time now. I will go down as the man who put down Mike Tyson for the last time.”

Paul had been clearly wound-up with the reception he received upon arrival to the conference, with fans booing in a largely pro-Tyson crowd.

This gave him much more loaded ammunition to aim at his veteran rival, who refused to rise to his antagonistic tendencies.

Tyson came up against some brilliant talkers during his prime, including Lennox Lewis who he brawled with at a press conference in 2002 before their mega-fight.

Paul has become known in boxing for his trash-talking and brash personality, but Tyson has shown he is willing to take the surprise event seriously.

‘Iron Mike’ has been posting training footage from his camp in his own intimidation tactics, and it has certainly worked with Paul admitting he is ‘nervous’ to step in the ring.

The pair traded insults and expletives in Texas on Thursday night as they previewed their fight close to the 80,000-seat home of the Dallas Cowboys that will stage it.

But the press conference took a bizarre turn when Paul initially said he wanted to ‘kiss Mike’s big juicy lips.’

The moderator then turned to Tyson for a response and the 57-year-old went on to make a staggering claim.

‘That’s so ironic that he said that because I saw pictures of him dancing at 16, doing that little dance on YouTube and for some reason I had an erection.’

Paul was unmoved by the comment but it prompted an awkward response from the thousands of fans who had gathered for the event.

Paul continued to downplay the suggestion that he still hasn’t had a legitimate opponent, while Tyson simply refused to answer a question about his age.

The former heavyweight champion will be 58 on July 20, when the fight is set for AT&T Stadium.

‘I don’t see too many people critical about it. Look at this,’ Tyson said, pointing to the raucous crowd at an entertainment venue near the site of the fight.

When a reporter suggested there were critics, Tyson said, ‘Who? Name me somebody. You? Who?’

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation is sanctioning the fight as a professional bout, but it will be eight two-minute rounds instead of 10 or 12 rounds lasting three minutes each. The gloves will be heavier (14 ounces instead of 10), which is supposed to reduce the power of punches.

Tyson retired in 2005, but most recently fought in an exhibition in November 2020 against Roy Jones in California, which wouldn’t declare it a pro fight.

Tyson was mostly annoyed by the scene and the questions, including when asked what it meant to have a chance to fill AT&T Stadium.

‘I was doing this years ago, so this is nothing new to me,’ said Tyson, who won 50 fights with 44 knockouts before retiring. ‘This is new to this young boy over here.’

Entering to loud boos, Paul answered with foul language and derogatory gestures, then encouraged and led an expletive-laden chant directed at him by the pro-Tyson crowd.

‘I hope you all keep that same energy when I knock this old man out,’ Paul said.

Paul has nine wins in 10 fights, three since his only loss to Tommy Fury, the young half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. One of the recent wins was in nearby Dallas against former UFC fighter Nate Diaz.

‘In due time, I will be fighting for a world championship,’ Paul said to the suggestion that he hasn’t fought a legitimate opponent, which also drew the ire of Tyson. ‘And I will be making you eat your own words.’

Netflix is carrying the fight live, a first for the streaming platform. Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are the co-main event in a rematch of their slugfest at Madison Square Garden two years ago.

Paul built a significant fan following as a YouTube influencer before he embarked on a professional boxing career four years ago. Tyson was the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987-90.

‘I respect Mike,’ Paul said. ‘But it´s time. It´s my time now. I will go down as the man who put down Mike Tyson for the last time.’

One of the most talked-about clashes of the year sees a 58-year-old step back between the ropes in an officially sanctioned meeting with the starlet who is more than 30 years his junior.

Opinions on the titanic tussle have flowed aplenty in the lengthy build the AT&T Stadium spectacle, not least in WWE where Paul’s brother, Logan wrestles as the United States Champion on SmackDown.

The Maverick himself has his own major match coming up – he meets Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the company’s King and Queen of the Ring event next weekend which takes place in Saudi Arabia at the Jeddah Super Dome.

Rhodes and Paul faced off in the ring once again on SmackDown this week, just seven days after the 29-year-old upstart impressed fans with his abilities on the microphone in stepping up to relative veteran Rhodes.

This time it was the turn of Rhodes to lay down some truths, with the American Nightmare laying it on thick for Paul in a stinging blast that included a bold reference to the Tyson outing.

Rhodes made clear he expects to walk out of King and Queen of the Ring with his championship intact, but was adamant boxing icon Tyson will fare far better in his outing.

After tempers boiled over in the ring, Rhodes said: “Let me tell you something, you fly-by-night human hat rack.

“Here’s the situation: the honeymoon with you is over, I’ve seen you do a flip, whoopdie do.

The verbal volley from Rhodes came either side of some classic WWE action to set up the title match for King and Queen of the ring.

Their bout had been teased – though not confirmed – as being a title for title match where both the Undisputed WWE Championship and the United States gold would be on the line.

That always seemed unlikely, and the expected storyline exit from that scenario duly emerged, with Paul sneakily claiming to have wrangled the legal side of the match ‘contract’ to ensure only Rhodes would have to put his gold up for grabs.

That was much to the frustration of brit GM Nick Aldis and the live crowd, but an infuriated Rhodes signed the contract in any case.

Sure enough, physicality then followed as Paul tried to take a sneaky swipe at the fan favourite, only for Rhodes to dodge the attack and the influencer to tuck tail and run after being clotheslined over the top rope.

One fan quipped in the comments that Paul was trying to escape fighting Tyson. ‘My guy trying to fake his death so he doesn’t need to fight,’ they wrote.

Another compared the lightning to the former unified heavyweight champion himself, saying: ‘First hit from Mike Tyson.’

The fight between Tyson, 57, and Paul has garnered lots of controversy and opinions.

Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr, who fought Iron Mike in the £63m fight billed as the ‘Lockdown Knockdown’ in 2020, warned of Tyson’s brute strength.

‘Mike Tyson is still the strongest puncher that I’ve ever been in the ring with,’ he told Shane Mosley.

‘The first time he hit me in the chest, it felt like a mule had kicked me in the chest.

Sharing an update on her condition, David revealed: ‘Apparently my wife’s little accident in the gym was a clean break… [sad face]’

The former undisputed heavyweight champion became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up, forcing flight staff to ask passengers if there was a doctor on board to provide assistance.

Paramedics boarded the plane, which had already been delayed by two hours in Miami because of the heat, once it touched down in LA to give treatment, before Tyson is said to have made a quick recovery.

Tyson suffered a medical scare during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday

Despite his representatives claiming he is ‘doing great’ after the health scare, it remains to be seen whether Tyson passes medical tests and is deemed fit to fight Paul this summer.

Though should he fail those tests or pull out himself, former UFC star Chael Sonnen says he is the man lined up to replace the 57-year-old.

In a series of posts on X, Sonnen claimed Paul wrote him into the contract as Tyson’s backup, while suggesting that his June 15 boxing match against old UFC rival Anderson Silva in Brazil is a tune-up ahead of that potential opening.

‘I guess it was wise of Jake Paul to write me into the contract as Tyson’s backup, wasn’t it???’ the ex-MMA fighter said in light of Tyson’s health scare.

‘If Jake Paul realizes he might be fighting ME in a month, HE may be the one having a heart attack’.

He then added: ‘…Maybe the Anderson Silva tune-up with @spatenbr makes a little more sense now, doesn’t it…? #MasterPlan’.

While Sonnen claims he is waiting in the wings, Tyson insists he is back to ‘100 per cent’ following his medical scare.

Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen says he has been lined up to potentially replace Tyson

Sonnen spent four years in the UFC, challenging for the Light Heavyweight and Middleweight titles and ultimately coming up short in defeats to MMA icons Silva and Jon Jones.

In Touch first revealed on Monday morning that Tyson ‘had some kind of medical emergency on the plane and paramedics boarded’.

Sources claim the cabin crew ‘issued an announcement asking for a doctor 30 minutes before landing and the message even came on everyone’s screens.’

‘He was in first class, but we were an exit row,’ an eyewitness added.

‘They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. [The stewardess] said something like, “He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.” I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words “Mike Tyson” and she nodded her head yes.’

Once the plane landed at LAX, there was another delay of around 25 minutes while the paramedics treated Tyson.

Tyson, who has previously admitted he uses marijuana daily, has given the drug up while training to fight Paul because it is on the list of banned substances used by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

He also revealed he’s given up sex temporarily as part of his training regime.

Ryan Garcia has offered an apology to Logan Paul days after the social media star and professional wrestler sued him for defamation.

Garcia’s first sample came back positive earlier this month, and it was reported last week by ESPN that his B sample had come back positive as well.

The 25-year-old had previously claimed that Prime will ‘kill your guys’s brains,’ ‘mess up your guys’s liver,’ and ‘hurt you big time.’

He even said, ‘I drank Prime and I tested positive for ostarine.’

After those comments, Paul claimed his uber-popular drinks company was  ‘under attack’ and announced Garcia was being sued.

‘Today we begin to hold those accountable who’ve damaged our brand for attention while we correct the narrative,’ Paul wrote on Instagram Thursday, alongside an image of the lawsuit filed in a Texas court.

‘We’re here to stay and will continue to change the world of hydration with bold flavors and creative innovation,’ he added.

Garcia even took a sip of a Prime drink to show that he had no problems with the brand

Prime is suing Garcia for defamation, trade libel, violations of Lanham Act, unfair competition and unjust enrichment.

As for Garcia’s fight with Haney, the latter is calling for the fight to be ruled a disqualification win.

Garcia has previously maintained his innocence, but wrote ‘I F***ING LOVE STEROIDS’ in a possible troll post after his B sample was announced as positive.

‘I don’t care I’ll never make money again with boxing your loss not mine for setting me up lol joke on yall,’ he added.
