‘Furious’ David & Victoria Beckham’s friendship with Harry and Meghan ‘over’ after being accused of ‘leaking stories’

THE Beckhams’ friendship with Prince Harry and Meghan appears to be over amid claims of royal story leaks.

The bond between the power couples is said to have cooled after David was left “absolutely bloody furious” after the accusations were made in a phone call.

The Sun on Sunday has previously told how Harry confronted the ex-England skipper over leak claims.

It is thought the couples grew close as David’s comms director Izzy May is pals with Markus Anderson, who helped to arrange Harry and Meghan’s secret dates at London’s Soho House.

David, 48, and wife Victoria, 49, were then guests at the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018.

But Harry and Meghan were not present when the Beckhams’ eldest son Brooklyn, 24, married last year.

Nor were they at David’s star-studded football event this month — with Kim Kardashian and Serena Williams there for Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami debut.

A source close to the Beckhams told The Mail on Sunday that David and Victoria were “very supportive when Meghan arrived in the UK”.
But they added: “Any making up now is so unlikely.”

It also says George and Amal Clooney are no longer pals with Meghan, while Katy Perry and hubby Orlando Bloom are now closer to King Charles.

It comes after Harry was this week licking his wounds after a High Court judge highlighted his testimony’s “lack of credibility”.

The royal’s reputation hit an all-time low as Mr Justice Fancourt blasted his “inconsistent factual case” and threw out his phone-hacking claim against The Sun.

As the humiliating judgement was published to the National Archives, sources said “all is not well” in US-based Harry’s life after a lucrative deal collapsed.

The Duke and Meghan were branded “f*****g grifters” by a Spotify executive last month as the company ditched their £15million podcast deal after one series.

And the couple, who live in California with their two kids, have been dogged by claims on US gossip sites of marriage problems — which were denied by their reps.

A source said: “There is a bit of a feeling Harry is spiralling out of control and all is not well.

“Members of his family are worried about how he is coping and his determination to keep having legal battles.”

The 40-page Approved Judgement by High Court Judge Mr Timothy Fancourt — handed down at 10am on Thursday — has plunged the prince into a crisis.

The damning ruling, the first time the evidence of a royal has been questioned so thoroughly, concluded Harry’s case had “not reached the necessary threshold of plausibility and cogency”.

It adds the “lack of credibility arises from: the unexplained lateness of the plea . . . the improbability of a secret agreement being made in the terms pleaded . . . the absence of any explanation for the new factual case being raised; and absence of any other witness or documentary evidence to support it.”

Delivered at the imposing High Court building, bearing the Royal Coat of Arms, the judgement added Prince Harry had signed two “statements of truth” that were “inconsistent” with his evidence.

The Duke is suing Sun publisher News Group Newspapers, alleging phone-hacking and other unlawful activities — which are denied.

Designer Victoria looked toned and tanned as she grabbed a drink on the deck of the 100ft vessel, which was bought ahead of the Qatar World Cup.

Footy legend David wore a simple white T-shirt and black shorts combination as he soaked up the Floridian weather.

The couple are in need of some rest and relaxation after it was revealed they’re facing resistance from neighbours of their country pile in the Cotswolds over new plans on the property.

Former Three Lions captain David, 48, and 49-year-old wife Victoria have been granted planning permission for a glasshouse and raised kitchen garden so they can grow their own fruit and veg.

And he’s now asked for approval to construct another road into his pad while the greenhouse is built, in the village of Great Tew in Oxfordshire.

One man, who didn’t want to be named, said: “These applications keep coming thick and fast from the Beckhams since they moved in.

“It seems that they are never satisfied with what they’ve got, which in one way is a good trait but not when it comes at the expense of the community.”

The couple’s relationship with the Sussexes has also cooled.

The Sun on Sunday has previously told how Prince Harry confronted the ex-England skipper over leak claims.

She claims Meghan manipulated Harry into feuding with the Beckhams
The Sun on Sunday previously told how Harry confronted the ex-England skipper, suggesting he or wife Victoria were responsible for leaks about the royal couple.

Sources say David was left “absolutely bloody furious” after the accusations were made in a phone call.

And now TV presenter Lizzie Cundy claims the Duchess of Sussex “manipulated” Harry into thinking the Beckhams were behind the stories.

Lizzie said: “I think Victoria and David have slowly tiptoed away like the other friends.

“Many friends who went to the wedding have tiptoed away from Meghan.

“These are real big family people, there’s no way Victoria would’ve leaked stories.”

Cundy claims Meghan was starstruck by Posh Spice, 49, the first time they met back in 2013 – when Lizzie and the then TV-star attended an event together..

Speaking to The Mirror, she explained: “I’ve never seen anyone squeal quite like it.

“Meghan was so thrilled with excitement to see Victoria Beckham. She went ‘Oh my God, that’s Victoria Beckham!’”

“It was crazy. I thought ‘You’ve got to calm down and be cool.’

“I was the one who knew Meghan before Harry, and I saw the reaction to Victoria. She was a proper big fan, she let that show – Victoria doesn’t need to leak stories, she doesn’t need to do that,”

Meghan went on to make friends with Victoria and David, 48, after she started dating Prince Harry in 2016.

It is thought the couples grew close as David’s communications director Izzy May is pals with Markus Anderson, who helped to arrange Harry and Meghan’s secret dates at London’s Soho House.

David and Victoria were then guests at the Sussexes’ wedding in 2018.

Beckham, 48, opened up off his own back when quizzed about what an average day looks like for him these days.

Asked for a run-through of his daily routine, the ex-England skipper said: “First thing I do? Cup of coffee.

“Actually, I wake the kids up first.. then I have a cup of coffee. I love coffee.

“The weird thing is – and I’m going to sound like a right k**b now – in London I have just black coffee, but in the countryside, I have a latte.

“It makes me sound a bit of a k**b. I don’t know why, I never have a latte in London and I never have a black coffee in the countryside.”

Neville went on to claim Beckham was a bit of a “city boy” early in his Man Utd career.

But Becks, who will also spend a bit of time at the beach these days thanks to his Inter Miami interests, disagreed, hitting back: “I love the countryside, I’ve always loved the countryside.

“I love the combination – during the week, I’m London because the kids are at school, but then weekends I’m in the countryside.

“I love being in the country.”

The legendary right-midfielder even spilled the secrets to his extensive tattoos – revealing he now has close to 100 inkings.

Beckham claimed: “I probably have 81 now. Individual 81 yeah.”

On his first tattoo, he told Neville: “I had it done then I stayed at your house.

“No, that was the second one… so the first one was Brooklyn on the bottom of my back.

“The second one was the angel and I was sleeping at your house at the time and it stuck to the bed.”

Beckham then went on to pick his favourites – awkwardly forgetting about the one in honour of wife Victoria in the process.

The icon, whose son Romeo made his Brentford B debut earlier this year, said: “It’s hard to pick a favourite one to be honest. My kids’ names.”

Beckham then paused before rushing to add: “And Victoria’s name. Throw that one in.”

Cruz could be seen in the tattoo artists chair as they got to work on the body art.

He also shared a black and white photo as the finishing touches were made.

The teen then showed off her incredible tattoo, which read: “Posh,” a special nod to his mum, who was known as Posh Spice in the popular 90s girlband.

It was written in a simple italic format and positioned just below his elbow.

He also got a second tattoo across his knuckles which appeared to say: “Brotherhood.”

Each of the Spice Girls were given a moniker during their time in the band.

Revealing the real reason behind her Posh Spice nickname, Victoria said on Instagram: “I was given the name Posh in 1996 over lunch with Peter Loraine of Top of The Pops Magazine and the rest of the Spice Girls.

“I can’t say it would have been my first choice, but ultimately grew into it on my own terms. I was young and shy, and being Posh helped me find my style and confidence, and my voice.

“After the Spice Girls, I distanced myself from the nickname because it had unwavering momentum of it’s own.

“I wanted to find my own direction. Now, years later, I look back on that formative time with appreciation.

“Posh forever changed the course of my life, opening the door for me to go after my dreams.”

This is not the first tattoo that Cruz has.

He proved he’s a chip off the old block – by having his first tattoo at 16.

In 2020, Cruz showed off a butterfly inking on his thigh during a trip to Miami.

Dad David has more than 60 tattoos and mum Victoria has seven, while eldest brother Brooklyn sports more than 30 and older brother Romeo has seven.

Beckham was an England international and had already achieved Premier League and FA Cup glory with Manchester United.

So they were forced to meet in secret away from the attention of the media, with Victoria revealing car parks were a go-to.

She said in the new Netflix documentary, ‘BECKHAM’: “My manager kept saying ‘try to keep it under wraps’.

“So we would meet in car parks and that’s not as seedy as it sounds.”

    Becks added: “Classy.”

Despite the difficulty in meeting romance soon blossomed as the pair got engaged in January 1998 and married 18 months later.

The four-part documentary series details the media circus surrounding the couple in the early days of their relationship and how it affected Beckham on the pitch.

Becks claims the relationship did not change him – but his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson thinks otherwise.

The pair met at a charity football match, and Victoria revealed she wrote her phone number on the back of a plane ticket he had on him – which he still has.

And Posh reveals she told David she was pregnant with their first child on the eve of the fateful Argentina match.

Beckham was left clinically depressed by the hate he received after being sent off in a crunch World Cup match, his wife Victoria has revealed.

The red card in the last 16 game against Argentina in 1998 was blamed for ten-man England losing on penalties.

Recalling the barrage of abuse that followed, Victoria says in a new Netflix documentary: “I mean, the absolute hate, the public bullying, to another level.

“He was depressed, absolutely clinically depressed.

“I still want to kill these people.”

Victoria also reveals how she told David she was pregnant with their first child the night before the Argentina match.

They named the baby Brooklyn — after where she was at the time, and not where he was conceived, as has been previously thought.

David — who was just 23 — reflects on it as the hardest time of his professional and personal life.

He says: “What I went through was so extreme. The whole country hated me. Hated me.

“It changed my life. I felt very vulnerable and alone. Wherever I went I got abuse every single day.

“People look at you in a certain way, spit at you, abuse you, come up to your face and say some of the things that they said. That was difficult.”

The superstar pair recall their pain in a four-part series called Beckham.

David picked up a needless red card for kicking out at Argentina’s Diego Simeone — and went from national hero to zero.

For the next two years he was booed in stadiums across the country, and an effigy of him was even hung outside a South London pub.

Becks — alongside his wife of 24 years and parents Ted and Sandra — believes then-England manager Glenn Hoddle fuelled the hatred.

Before the tournament, Hoddle had publicly undermined him by claiming his relationship with Spice Girl Victoria was “distracting”.

He hit out at Becks after he was pictured wearing a sarong during a trip to the South of France where he and Victoria had stayed at Sir Elton John’s villa.

The disgruntled manager dropped him for two group games in the World Cup — despite an outpouring from fans demanding that he picked his star player.

In the documentary, Becks’ best pal — and best man at his wedding — Gary Neville hits out at the public annihilation of his team-mate in the run-up to the tournament in France.

In the aftermath of the sending off, the public tide significantly turned against Becks.

The Man United midfielder had to be escorted into West Ham’s ground under armed guard for the first away game of the following season.

His team bus was regularly pelted with beer bottles and cartons.

The Daily Mirror ran a front page showing a dartboard with the words: “Still Bitter? Take your fury out on our David.”

Even the then-PM Tony Blair blamed Beckham for England’s exit from the tournament.

The family say the catalyst was Hoddle’s decision to blame Beckham for the Argentina defeat.

In the documentary, Victoria says: “Glenn Hoddle didn’t come out and try and protect David. And how old was David, 23? You’re a kid at 23. And Glenn Hoddle was a man.

“Well, I wouldn’t even call him a man actually . . . he was an older person.”

Mum Sandra adds: “Hoddle is on my hit-list . . . of people that upset me. I thought, ‘What have you done?’ He made it that it was David’s fault. And we’d been used to a manager . . . Alex Ferguson never spoke about his team.”

David found himself being booed every time he touched the ball and cheers rang out when he was fouled. He recalls that the situation almost broke him mentally.

Becks credits his wife and family for pulling him back.

On the eve of the match, Victoria told David she was expecting.

Talking about it for the first time, she reveals she made the call from Brooklyn — cementing the name of their son.

David reveals he wanted to leave the tournament to be with Posh but wasn’t allowed.

Victoria recalls: “I was in Brooklyn. David was so, so happy.

“We both were and there was never any doubt in my mind that I should tell him. I mean, it was what we wanted and he could not have been happier.”

Asked by director Fisher Stevens: “So you tell him right before the biggest game of his life — did you think it would help him?”

Designer Victoria, 49, replies: “I don’t really know.”

David confirms “Before the Argentina game, she phoned me and said I’ve just taken a test and I’m pregnant.

“The first thing I wanted to do (was get out of there and be with Victoria) but I couldn’t, we were in a major tournament.”

It is the first time the couple have confirmed how chef Brooklyn, now 24, got his name — contrary to long-running reports that it was because he was conceived in the New York borough.

Previously in her autobiography, Posh wrote: “I had always liked the name Brooke and then we suddenly thought about Brooklyn. I’d always like it as a place — it’s very multi-cultural, very grounded.”

Other contributors in the much- anticipated documentary include Phil Neville, Alex Ferguson, Eric Cantona, Roy Keane, Paul Ince and Sporty Spice Mel C.

As well as behind-the-scenes footage and archive clips, never- before-seen videos and pics of the Inter Miami co-owner are shown — including from his wedding in 1999.

Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz quash fued rumours as actress attends fashion show in Paris

NICOLA Peltz and Victoria Beckham have seemingly ended their rumoured feud as the actress attended her fashion show in Paris.

Rumours of a fall-out between fashion designer Victoria and actress Nicola have been rife since her wedding to Brooklyn last year.

But the pair have made it clear things between them are fine as Nicola supported Victoria at the fashion shows for her clothing brand, with the rest of the Beckham family.

The whole family looked in high spirits as they celebrated the fashion designer on her incredible creations.

Shortly after her successful show, Victoria posted a snap of her family sitting with British Vogue editor Edward Enninful and US Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Brooklyn and wife Nicola were also in the photo with their arms wrapped around each other at the end of the bench.

Victoria captioned the snap: “It’s Paris baby!! I’m so grateful for my family, @BritishVogue and @VogueMagazine for always supporting me on this journey xx VB”

The support of her entire family comes after reports had initially suggested that she and Nicola were at war over Nicola’s wedding dress.

The actress walked down the aisle in a couture Valentino gown, much to the reported disappointment of her mother-in-law who had originally planned to create her wedding dress.

However, Nicola has since said the dress decision came down to logistics and nothing else.

Both Nicola and Victoria have refuted reports of bad blood between the two, with the latter speaking to Cosmopolitan, in an attempt to set the record straight.

Nicola said: “I’ve said this so many times: There’s no feud.

“I don’t know. No one ever wants to write the nice things.

“It’s really weird, actually, whether it’s my life or someone else’s life or whatever, when you know the truth and then you read something totally wrong.”

David & Victoria Beckham break silence on his 2003 ‘affair’ that rocked their marriage – and handle it perfectly

THERE’S a scene in the new Beckham documentary showing an old Sun article, featuring a shepherd living in Timbuktu besides the headline: “We find the only man on the planet who hasn’t heard of Becks!”

David and Victoria Beckham are, without question, Britain’s biggest celebrity exports. Probably our biggest celebrities, full stop.

Over the past 25 years, the couple has single-handedly redefined what it is to be famous.

They have become part of the fabric of British culture. They were the Charles and Diana of Showbiz. Barely an inch of their life together has gone unreported.

200-plus million followers between them – more than three times the UK population! – means we, quite literally, now get to see what they have for breakfast. (Avocado, sometimes pancakes).

If we we thought there was nothing left to know, we were wrong.

A warts n’ all four-part documentary somehow manages to unearth some revelatory gems.

One of the biggest, which airs tomorrow, is the couple gamely speaking for the first time in the aftermath of David’s alleged affair in Madrid in 2003.

Gamely – because this isn’t even her documentary to promote – Victoria describes the period as “the unhappiest in her life”.

David, close to tears, describes his heartache at, well, breaking his wife’s heart as a result of the immediate media fall-out.

They could have skimmed over this reported – but always denied – transgression in an otherwise Richard Curtis-esque love story.

The show is, after all, a Studio 99 one – David’s own production company.

    But they didn’t.

The elephant in the room is confronted. And handled, you will see, pitch-perfectly.

(A highlight is Posh FUMING when David casually informs her he wont be at the birth of youngest son Cruz, because he has a photoshoot with Beyoncé and J-Lo: “Posh was pissed off!”, she quips.)

Less forgiving women, you might think, would file for divorce.

Elsewhere, we get to snoop around the couple’s glorious Cotswolds mansions – we note where Becks has his morning coffee: “I can see Victoria naked up there if I’m lucky!” he quips, like a schoolboy who can’t believe his tuck box, pointing to an upstairs bedroom window.

Becks shows off his meticulous, colour-coordinated wardrobes – “someone’s been in here”, he huffs, upon spotting a clothes hanger two millimetres out of place.

For those who’ve doubted the strength of their love – I defy you to watch this series and not be convinced.

Towards the end, the entire family are shown in a gazebo, enjoying a roast whipped up by keen home chef, David.

Kenny Rogers’ Islands In The Stream belts out from a music player, Posh and Becks (the latter clutching a beer) Victoria dance, swaying semi-in-time.

(After, we see David frantically cleaning the oven and scrubbing kitchen counters).

Later, in a joint interview in the kitchen – David recorded in total almost 50 hours of interviews – they have their arms draped around one another.

They discuss how cathartic the whole recording process has been, describing it as “therapy”.

David gently teases Victoria, goading her that she’s become “more posh” throughout her career.

“I’ve looked back and heard footage of [Victoria] on the phone to me, saying ‘hello babes!’”, he grins.

“And she doesn’t talk much like she does now by the way… she was much more common then than she is now.

“I don’t know what happened…she never had any form of elocution lessons…that’s how you say it, right?!”

Victoria’s chips in, mocking his reputation for being “thick” (something he so evidently is not): “I’m so glad you know what that means….!”

As we see son Cruz rowing on the lake outside, and Romeo kicking footballs on the outdoor pitch, David reflects: “Doing this has given me clarity on many things and one of the things which is the most important thing to me is what we’ve got.”

If the five hours of this documentary are anything to go by, that’s a lot.

So why are we all so collectively obsessed with this couple?

By dint of bloody hard work, they are the ultimate in aspirational in working class heroes.

Never has Goldenballs professed to be the planet’s greatest footballer, and not once has Victoria said she was the world’s best singer. Or, even, the best singer in the Spice Girls.

Instead, through a series of ingenious, genuinely progressive branding decisions, determination and an innate likeability – something absolutely no-one can fake – they have clambered to the top of the fame tree, and resolutely stayed a-perch for over two decades.

Only the cynical can knock them.

In her autobiography, Victoria wrote she wanted to be “as famous as Persil Automatic.”

She succeeded. And with her husband in tow, one suspects they will be here long after the Persil shine fades.
