Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury rematch will see boxers fight for staggering £45m more than stunning first fight purse

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are reportedly expected to earn even more money for their second fight.

The heavyweight titans duked it out in a Saudi Arabia thriller in May for an estimated purse of £115million.

Fury is understood to have banked roughly £85m, while Usyk, who won all the belts, is said to have earned around £30m despite getting his hand raised via split decision.

They are now set to run it back on December 21 after Fury activated the two-way rematch clause in their contract.

Given how exciting their first fight was the rematch is generating even more interest and therefore more money.

According to the Sun, a staggering prize pot of £150m will be split between the pair at the back end of the year – a whopping £45m more than their May date.

The split hasn’t been disclosed in the report, although Usyk is expected to bank a lion’s share of the purse as he is now the A-side fighter.

Money was a point of contention when the fight first collapsed in early 2023.

Usyk had given into Fury’s demands for 70/30 split in the Brit’s favour.

However, he did so on the understanding that the split would be reversed should he win their first outing.

ESPN’s Mike Coppinger reported at the time that Fury was unwilling to compromise on anything greater than an even share which angered Team Usyk.

This caused Usyk to pull out of the fight until Saudi Arabia got involved and put up the money that both fighters wanted for the historic clash.

Fury claims Usyk was offered £13m for their fight which was initially been targeted for April 2023 at Wembley Stadium.

“Fact is he is a b***h ass p***y boy. Ran from 13 million pounds and now taking 6 million dollars. Joker,” said Fury in a furious social media rant when the fight collapsed.

By sitting it out, Usyk earned more than double for their fight at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh and is set to pocket an even bigger payday for bout number two.

EXCLUSIVE: Kate Middleton faced with huge decision that could ‘lead to Meghan and Harry questions’

The Princess of Wales has not been ruled out of making an appearance at Trooping the Colour – the King’s official birthday celebrations – in a few weeks, but it all hinges on how she is feeling amid her cancer treatment

It is the thrilling finale to a highlight in the calendar and used to see hordes of royals pack on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

But at Trooping the Colour this year, the palace balcony for the magnificent RAF flypast may look sparse in contrast. Following tradition from the last two years, it is believed that King Charles will only ask working royals to join him for the climax of his birthday celebrations.

It would mean no place for the likes of younger royals Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and of course, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will no doubt remain at home in California. And amid the slimmed-down family appearance, it could be that the most popular member of the Firm also won’t be there

The Princess of Wales, 42, is having preventative cancer treatment, and her appearance at Trooping has not been confirmed. However, she is understood to be considering making an appearance if she is feeling well enough. Kensington Palace confirmed the Princess would not be officially taking part in the final dress rehearsal for the King’s birthday celebrations on June 8, but did not rule out her attending the main event a week later.

Royal expert and historian Dr Tessa Dunlop believes Kate is “British royalty at its best” and her decision on whether she will attend will inevitably lead to ‘futile’ questions about Harry and Meghan as they are now “out of the picture”.

She told the Mirror: “Whether [Kate] will make a balcony appearance on the big day on June 15 remains the great unknown. My hunch is she will give us a wave, but if she doesn’t (entirely her prerogative) questions about Harry and Meghan are bound to surface. These are futile, even in 2022 the Sussexes were out of the picture, glimpsed briefly at a window and not invited on the balcony.

“This year that balcony cast will have even slimmer pickings if the Princess of Wales stays away. In which case might it be time to review the role of non-working royals? All those cousins Eugenie, Beatrice, and Zara – who have long behaved with hallmark loyalty would surely relish the prospect of standing shoulder to shoulder with their King. After all, isn’t that what families are for?”

Meanwhile, Tessa added that this year’s Trooping the Colour will show how much has changed for the Royal Family – even in the space of just one year. She explained: “2024 is not royal service as usual. And nor should it be.

“Our most glamorous royal player, like her father-in-law and King, has cancer and health must come first. But let’s not pretend Kate won’t be missed at Trooping the Colour. The King’s official birthday parade ties us back through time to centuries of pomp and ceremony. No one does that better than the Princess of Wales who in the last decade has owned the stage as Britain’s most eye-catching stateswoman.

“The last Trooping the Colour I attended was that bittersweet summer of 2022, the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Too frail for Horse Guards Parade, Her Majesty popped out on the balcony.

“It was the climax to a great day which saw Charles, then Prince of Wales, on horseback and a Disney moment when, in a pop of colour, Princess Catherine fluttered by in a horse-drawn carriage. The crowd gasped. This was British royalty at its best.

“Much can change in two short years. The new King will be present for his birthday parade, but won’t review the troops on horseback. There are limits when undergoing cancer treatment at age 75.

“Likewise for the Princess of Wales, things look very different in 2024. She has climbed the ranks, and with her new honorary role as Colonel of the Irish Guards ordinarily, she would have taken the salute. But these are not ordinary times. Kate won’t attend the Colonel’s Review (Trooping’s rehearsal on 8 June).”

TYSON FURY is leaving no sparring stone unturned with a handful of top-quality lefties preparing him for Oleksandr Usyk.

The planet’s No1 southpaw cruiserweight Jai Opetaia has had to leave the Riyadh camp as he now has a fight on the February 17 undercard and needs to prepare specifically for his rematch with Mairis Briedis.

Undefeated Canadian Alexis Barriere, South Africa’s Kevin Lerena and Brit prospect Moses Itauma are Fury’s chief sparring partners. Fury’s camp also includes his first amateur coach Steve Egan (green shirt front row), as well as current head trainer Sugarhill Steward (second row, second from last on right). Strength and conditioning coach Kristian Blacklock (second-row lime green shirt) and nutritionist Greg Marriott (on Fury’s left) are also in Riyadh to whip The Gypsy King into fighting shape. Fury has also brought his massage therapist massage Matt Towey (behind the camera) to keep him limber.Fury’s cousin Issac Lowe (second row fourth from last) has also made the trip out to Riyadh, as well as featherweight prospect Joe McGuinness (second row second from last on right. But Team Fury is still brimming with unorthodox talent from all over the world.

Including Britain’s most exciting prospect, the South African underdog who almost knocked out giant Daniel Dubois and a huge unbeaten Canadian.

The least famous member of the new Fury fraternity but an eye-catching shape and early record.

The 6ft 4in Quebec puncher turned pro in 2021 and has raced into double figures and a healthy number of early finishes.

Barriere only boxed out of Canada a couple of times – as a raw amateur and a pro – but already looks at home among the Traveller clan in Saudi Arabia.

The heavy-handed unknown is one inch taller than Usyk but usually boxes close to the same 16st the Ukraine icon prefers since moving up from cruiserweight.

The Johannesburg tough guy would be forgiven for hating British boxers after his cruel loss to Daniel Dubois in December 2022.

The visitor – boxing DDD on the undercard of Fury’s trilogy fight with Derek Chisora at Spurs – almost pulled off a sensational upset.

Cherry picked as a warm-up opponent for Dubois to prepare for Usyk, Lerena was supposed to pose a few problems and collapse.

But he clipped Dubois around the temple and the loss of balance and belief sent him to the canvas three times in the opening rounds.

Then trainer Shane McGuigan did a superb job in helping Dubois recover and he scored a stoppage win in round three.

Lerena bounced back with two wins last year and is the perfect size and stance to imitate Usyk.

His heavy hands and solid resolve will also make him an ideal training partner for Fury to work alongside.

What sort of 19-year-old dreams of fighting Tyson Fury for Christmas? This special one.

In September the freakishly talented teen told us: “I know everyone wants to see the Fury vs Usyk fight for all of the belts but I only really want it so I hopefully get the chance to spar Tyson.

“I’m no help with the Ngannou fight but I do think I am ideal for Usyk so hopefully I get to go soon and learn from him.”

Thanks to manager Francis Warren, Itauma is in Riyadh right now imitating all the skills and threats that Usyk poses to the Gypsy King, while preparing for his eighth professional outing on the undercard.

With Opetaia now removed, Itauma has probably been promoted inside the ranks, too.

It will be a magnificent learning curve for the Kent wonderkid – who has been made mandatory challenger for the English title and plans to reign after the Fury-Usyk-AJ era winds down.

Meghan Markle brutally snubbed as a-list designer says they ‘prefer’ Kate Middleton

Meghan Markle has been snubbed by a popular British designer who voiced their admiration for Kate Middleton but said they would not want to work with the Duchess of Sussex

Meghan Markle has been brutally snubbed by an A-list designer after they refused to work with her.

Famed British fashion icon Julien Macdonald has openly admitted his preference for the Princess of Wales over Meghan after being quizzed on who he would like to collaborate with. The designer was in attendance at the Fragrance Foundation Awards in London when he opened up about the Royals he dreams of dressing.

Julien – who was once crowned British Fashion Designer Of The Year – didn’t hold back when he gave his take on who he wouldn’t work with either. He slammed Meghan as he admitted she is not on his style list, despite her love of fashion and her huge lifestyle following who draw inspiration from her outfit choices when she hits public events.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said: “Kate’s amazing… I’d love to dress her in one of my dresses. I’ve got a great relationship with Camilla, the Queen. She’s incredible.” He was then asked if he would like to see Meghan wearing one of his designs to which he promptly replied: “No, I prefer Kate and Camilla.”

Julien also admitted that Camilla will ask him for style advice when they encounter one another as he added: “She does every now and then. When I see her at different events, I always say, ‘You look really nice, Camilla’, and she’ll say, ‘Do you like it? Oh, I’m glad you approve’.”

The scathing comment comes after celebrity stylist Rochelle White previously pointed out the differences between Kate and Meghan’s individual style. She compared Meghan’s fashion choices to the more traditional styles seen being worn by Kate, as she pointed out that the Princess of Wales opts for a more classic theme to her styling, with fitted dresses and tailored trousers while Meghan takes a more relaxed and personal approach to her fashion looks.

She explained how “Meghan has more of trendy edge when it comes to her style,” and noted that on the other hand “Kate is very classic and chic in her fits and style with traditional pieces thrown in.”

Rochelle went on to describe how “with Meghan, I feel she is very much herself and has elements that really showcase her personality and personal style,” adding that the Duchess clearly likes “off the shoulder tops, shorts, co-ords and racer back tops, she doesn’t hide what she likes and what works for her.”

Anthony Joshua confirms plans for a forthcoming clash with Tyson Fury and assures fans that the highly anticipated British heavyweight showdown is on the horizon, promising an imminent spectacle.

Anthony Joshua has revealed that a fight with Tyson Fury is in the works and will take place ‘sooner rather than later’.

The proposed bout has been dubbed as the biggest fight in British boxing history, and fans have long dreamed about the prospect of the two heavyweights colliding inside the ring.

However, other fights for both opponents have stepped in the way, while Joshua has suffered a number of setbacks including a loss to Andy Ruiz Jr and back-to-back  defeats to Fury’s next opponent Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua, appearing as a guest on Good Morning Britain, was asked whether a fight between the pair is on the cards.

In response, he told co-host Susanna Reid: ‘It is the golden question, I’d say sooner rather than later.

Anthony Joshua has revealed that a dream British showdown with Tyson Fury is ‘in the pipeline’

Joshua said that Fury is part of his ‘journey’ as long as he can complete his ‘checkpoints’

British boxing fans have long dreamed of a fight between the Gypsy King (pictured) and Joshua

‘It’s in the pipeline, it’s been bubbling for a long time and it has to happen.

‘We are with you guys. We’re talking about it, it’s definitely going to happen sooner rather than later – mark my words.’

When asked for more information on what he means by the fight being in the pipeline, he added: ‘Not in depth like that (finding a location and date for the fight) but there’s a map.

‘For example, someone would say ‘these are the checkpoints’ and if I can complete these checkpoints then Fury’s part of my journey and I’m part of his I’m sure as well – it would be silly not to.’

Joshua’s next checkpoint is a fight against former UFC star Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Ngannou poses a potentially dangerous opponent after the Cameroonian almost caused a shock against Fury back in October.

Despite being knocked down, Fury was awarded the victory in a controversial split decision outcome.

Fury will next step foot inside the ring in his delayed heavyweight unification showdown with Usyk on May 18.

Joshua recently bumped into Fury’s dad, John, in Riyadh, ahead of his fight with Ngannou.

When asked on GMB whether John also wanted the fight to take place, Joshua said: ‘I didn’t speak to him about it but I’m sure he does (want the fight) because as someone who is in the fight business, it’s just us going to work.

‘It’s an opportunity to work and this is what we do for our livelihoods. I’m sure he’s advising Fury to get in the ring, it’s a great fight, lets see who is the best of Great Britain and for the public it would be amazing.’

Humorously Self-Reflective: Tyson Fury Admits Anthony Joshua Executed the Ideal Boxing Strategy Against Ngannou.

The MMA fighter was unstoppable by Fury, who narrowly prevailed on points.

On Friday, Anthony Joshua stunned the boxing world by stopping Francis Ngannou in the second round in a knockout after two knockdowns in the first two rounds.

It was a major wake-up call for Ngannou, who had gone from mixed martial arts to boxing and had lost his first two fights against two of the top heavyweights in the history of the sport. Although some think it was an anomaly, the former UFC champion performed far better versus Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury thinks Francis Ngannou got “too cocky”

Before the fight, Fury had mentioned that he thought Ngannou had gotten too cocky following their fight together. After the Joshua knockout, Fury spoke about the fight.

“It was a fantastic knockout. It was a very rude awakening for Ngannou. He got a little bit cocky… He got knocked out, and that’s what a boxer should do to an MMA fighter.”

Essentially, Fury is saying that Joshua did what he himself should have done in the first fight against Ngannou. Many people in the boxing industry, including Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, believe that Fury simply didn’t prepare well enough for the fight. He underestimated Ngannou in a sense.

Joshua may have exposed Ngannou. It could also be that Joshua is simply at the top of his game, and Fury could be on the decline. An undisputed title fight against Oleksandr Usyk in May will tell all.

As will a potential subsequent fight between Fury and Joshua.

‘Insulted’ Kate Middleton has ‘closed her mind’ to healing Harry and Meghan rift – expert

The ongoing rift between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and the Prince and Princess of Wales has become a subject of intense scrutiny and analysis. According to royal experts, the situation has reached a point where Prince William and Kate Middleton have seemingly closed their minds to the possibility of reconciliation in the near future.

Jennie Bond, a former BBC royal correspondent, suggests that Kate, coming from a happy and united family, initially believed the rift could be mended. However, after Prince Philip’s funeral, where Kate was seen encouraging William to engage with Harry, a heated argument ensued, dashing hopes of reconciliation.

Bond further states that Kate has been deeply hurt and insulted by the accusations and remarks made by Harry and Meghan in Harry’s memoir “Spare” and subsequent interviews. This includes Harry’s claims of Kate stereotyping Meghan and details of a disagreement over bridesmaids’ dresses that left Meghan in tears.

Another royal expert, Katie Nicholl, echoes similar sentiments, stating that Harry’s “snide remarks” about Kate have ruined their bond and broken a major royal rule of staying silent on family matters. Nicholl claims that Kate is “very disappointed” by Harry’s attacks, leading to a complete breakdown of their relationship.

The experts suggest that William and Kate, as a strong team, have concluded that the rift with Harry cannot be fixed in the foreseeable future. They have decided to move forward with their lives and duties, effectively closing their minds to the possibility of immediate reconciliation.

“While Kate and Harry used to be very, very close, there’s been a complete breakdown of that relationship. I don’t think Kate does angry. I think it is more a case of feeling very disappointed, very let down and feeling hurt knowing that she had no right of reply – and Harry knew full well she had no right of reply.

“I do know that William was very angry that Harry had drawn Kate into it when he felt Kate was blameless throughout. She acted very much as the peacekeeper, she tried to get the brothers back on an even keel and for Kate to be dragged into this mucky saga was upsetting for her and certainly did infuriate William.”

Meghan Markle’s former Suits co-star has revealed there was a ‘foul’ stench at the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s wedding at Windsor Castle almost six years ago.

53-year-old actor Rick Hoffman has opened up on his viral expression after he was caught on camera with what he described as an ‘awful face’ reports the Mirror.

The American star – who starred alongside Meghan Markle as Louis Litt on Suits – claimed he smelt something ‘really terrible and foul’ whilst at the royal wedding, covering his face to block out the odour.

He made the admission whilst appearing on the ‘Chicks in the Office’ podcast on Wednesday, explaining the reason why his face seemed ‘goofy’.

His expression went viral online shortly after the ceremony.

Opening up on what happened, he said on the podcast: “As time goes on, I’m starting to smell something really terrible and foul, and I’m very sensitive when it comes to that so I start to try to do this. Because I have a coconut vanilla moisturizer, and I like to try to cut it. How can I help getting away from this goofy face?”

Prior to detecting the awful smell, the star was sat next to Sarah Rafferty – who also appeared in Suits as Donna – and claimed he likes to ‘mess around’ with her and was doing ‘something ridiculous’ before she told him to ‘cut it out’

He added that after smelling the ‘foul’ scene, he returned to his Suits castmates and asked them if they could smell it too – but they could not.

He said: “I don’t want them to think it’s me because I’m so particular when it comes to hygiene. So I’m like, ‘Do you guys smell that?’ And they’re like, ‘No.’ So now I’m, like, literally by myself and I’m just going, ‘Mother…’ And that’s what they got [on camera].”

He then added that Meghan was aware he was ‘so sensitive’ to hygiene as he added: “Guess who knew that the most in the cast that I had an issue with other people’s hygiene? Meghan! Always knew and would always laugh about how I was so sensitive.”

His comments came after the Suits cast reunited for a new Super Bowl commercial which aired on screens last week.

Gina Torres, Rick Hoffman, and Sarah Rafferty were seen in the advert for e.lf. Cosmetics but Meghan did not make an appearance.

The ad was directed by Zach Woods and saw the Suits legal team appear in Judge Judy’s courtroom.

Rick spoke about meeting the 81-year-old icon as he admitted feeling a little starstruck. He said: “I made a fool of myself. I literally became starstruck just because for years, I grew up watching her. And then ultimately, I was like, ‘I have to ask her to make a video for my mum’.”

It comes as it was confirmed that Meghan will not be starring in the new planned spin-off show of Suits.

Aaron Korsh, who created the hit legal drama, has scripted a brand new show about employees at a Hollywood law firm.

One character, Erica, seemed to have been created just for Meghan, but it seems the Duchess of Sussex is not ready to make her big acting return just yet.

Sources have claimed Meghan shut down the idea of acting in the project, but she did suggest being involved behind the scenes with her production company Archewell.

However, it is thought her idea was rejected by NBC. “Meghan was clear that she didn’t want to be involved as an actor.

But Archewell was trying to wiggle its way in as a production company on the spin-off. NBC has killed that idea,” a source told the Daily Mail.

However, other sources told the publication that Archewell would never have been involved in a reboot.

  • How Meghan considers herself the next Princess Diana

How Meghan considers herself the next Princess Diana

How Meghan considers herself the next Princess Di

The comparison between Meghan Markle and Princess Diana is a tired and reductive narrative that does a disservice to both women. Markle’s entrepreneurial endeavors and public persona should be evaluated on their own merits, not constantly measured against the legacy of her late mother-in-law.

The incessant scrutiny and dissection of Markle’s every move through the lens of Diana’s life is a shallow and lazy form of analysis. It reduces two complex individuals to mere caricatures, stripping them of their unique identities and experiences. This obsession with drawing parallels between the two women is a disservice to their individuality and the nuances of their respective journeys.

Markle’s decision to launch a lifestyle brand should be viewed as a personal and professional choice, not a calculated attempt to emulate or capitalize on Diana’s legacy. To suggest that her timing is a deliberate ploy to align with The Diana Award ceremony is a cynical and unfounded assumption. It undermines Markle’s agency and autonomy, reducing her to a mere pawn in a narrative she did not create.

Furthermore, the constant comparisons perpetuate a harmful and outdated notion that women, particularly those in the public eye, must be pitted against one another. This narrative fuels a toxic cycle of competition and judgment, rather than fostering an environment of mutual respect and support.

Markle’s journey is her own, shaped by her unique experiences, values, and aspirations. To constantly measure her against the legacy of another woman is not only unfair but also perpetuates a narrow and limiting perspective on what it means to be a public figure, a woman, and a member of the royal family.

Instead of fixating on superficial comparisons, it would be more productive to engage with Markle’s work, advocacy, and personal choices on their own terms. Evaluate her brand, her philanthropic efforts, and her public persona through the lens of their own merits and impact, rather than reducing them to mere echoes of a bygone era.

Ultimately, the constant comparisons between Meghan Markle and Princess Diana are a disservice to both women and a reflection of a society that struggles to view women as multidimensional individuals. It is time to move beyond this reductive narrative and embrace the complexities and nuances of their individual journeys.

The heartbreaking reason William and Kate want to reconcile with Harry and Meghan

The estrangement between Prince William, Princess Kate, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle has been a source of concern for many, but there is hope for reconciliation. According to reports, the future king and queen are open to mending fences, driven by a desire to ensure their children have a relationship with their cousins. This sentiment is echoed by Harry and Meghan, who also want their children to be close to their royal relatives.

The upcoming Invictus Games ceremony presents an opportunity for the brothers to reconnect, but sources suggest a face-to-face reunion is unlikely at this time. The relationship remains strained, with Harry expressing a desire to sit down with William, but the timing is not right.

Despite the challenges, there is a glimmer of hope. King Charles is reportedly eager to rebuild his relationship with Harry, a wish that William understands, even if his priority is protecting his family from stress. The situation is delicate, but the potential for healing exists.

Ultimately, the desire for reconciliation stems from a shared belief that family bonds should transcend differences. By keeping an open mind and focusing on the well-being of the younger generation, there is a chance that the rift can be mended, allowing the cousins to forge lasting connections and the adults to find common ground.
