Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk rematch date revealed after the Gypsy King activated a clause in their deal to face the undisputed champion again

Tyson Fury will have to wait until four days before Christmas for his dollar-laden rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

The betting odds are already stacking against Santa Claus delivering unto the Gypsy King revenge as a festive gift.

But the delay from the original date of October 12 to December 21 will be seen in some quarters as giving Fury an extra ten weeks to recover from the monstrous ninth round beating he took in their first fight which was crucial to Usyk becoming the first undisputed world heavyweight champion for a quarter of a century.

An underlying reason for the change in timing, however, is that another epic fight will give the Saudi Arabian paymasters a spectacular opening to the next Riyadh Season of sports, culture and star-studded entertainment events in the capital.

Hence His Excellency AlAlSikh had no need to announce the venue when he confirmed the date.

Tyson Fury ready for a rematch after losing against Usyk

In his post on X, Turki Alalshikh wrote: ‘The rematch between the Undisputed Champion Oleksandr Usyk and the Champion Tyson Fury is now scheduled on the 21 of December 2024 during Riyadh Season.

‘The world will watch another historical fight again…Our commitment to boxing fans continues…We hope you enjoy it..’

One thing that won’t alter appreciably is the division of the booty. The terms of the rematch were set in the original contracts for two fights, with Fury the great showman the A-side ticket and pay-TV attraction.

While he banked an estimated £100 million earlier this month, Usyk settled for £35 million. Poor chap!

While there may be somewhat of an adjustment in recognition of Usyk now owning all the belts, the percentages will still weigh heavily in Fury’s favour.

Nor is it likely that Usyk will still be undisputed by the time they fight again.

While the Ukrainian hero will still hold the WBC, WBA and WBO titles, the IBF are threatening to give Anthony Joshua a route back to their championship in a Wembley fight this September against the winner of this Saturday’s bout in Ryadh between Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois.

New photos of Meghan Markle surfaced in a controversial Australian special in which her estranged family are to discuss their fractured relationship

A throwback picture of Meghan Markle is thought to be an image she never wanted the world to see.

The image was released by her estranged family ahead of a 7NEWS Australia special. The image in question shows the former Suits star, 41, smiling while looking over shoulder at an unknown event.

The date of the throwback snap, which was shared on social media, was not revealed but she can be seen wearing a low-buttoned white collared shirt, while her hair was worn in a messy low bun. She appeared to have a napkin stuffed down her top in a bid to stop any slopping of the food dishes placed in front of her. The look divided users online as to whether it was a good idea or “lower class”.

Her beaming smile showed off her stunning pearly white teeth and the image was just one of many that the show focused on as her dad Thomas Markle, sister Samantha, and brother Thomas Jr sit down with the Aussie show.

Taylor Auerbach of 7News Spotlight shared the snap ahead of the show and said it was one of “the photographs Meghan Markle NEVER wanted to world to see” on social media. The show documented the family life Meghan shared growing up. The family were ready to discuss her relationship with Prince Harry as well as where she would be “without her dad”.

In the explosive trailer for the discussion, sister Samantha is heard saying: “She would still be a waitress if it wasn’t for dad,” she fumes. Discussing Meghan and Harry’s relationship, Samantha snapped: “They’re unhealthy for each other. This is a toxic relationship.” Half-brother Thomas Jr also said the family “won’t be going away” and urged Meghan to sit down with them to “change everything”.

Tyson Fury admits his epic trilogy with Deontay Wilder has taken years off his LIFE… but the effects on the once-heralded Bronze Bomber have been much more immediate

Tyson Fury admits that the mighty blows with which Deontay Wilder kept knocking him down during their epic trilogy have taken years off his life.

The damaging effects of the brutal manner in which the Gypsy King eventually put the Bronze Bomber away have been more immediate.

Fury looked somewhat diminished in Riyadh when he struggled off the canvas to edge UFC legend Francis Ngannou. Again when Oleksandr Usyk beat him for the undisputed world heavyweight championship.

But Wilder looked drained in the Saudi capital when out-pointed by Joseph Parker. Back in Riyadh late this Saturday night he looked totally empty. Not only physically but mentally.

Worse still, he found himself to be no longer the biggest puncher since Mike Tyson.

Wilder was sent to the canvas by Zhilei Zhang’s powerful right hook in the fifth round of the Saudi contest

China’s Zhilei Zhang not only beat Wilder but also relieved him of the ‘Biggest Bang’ distinction with a giant knockout right hook in the fifth round.

At 38, the game is up for Wilder. He contributed to his own demise by wandering off into Costa Rica’s la la land of euphoric drugs before boxing Parker like a pacifist.

Then by issuing ludicrous threats of brain and spinal demolition against Zhang which he is now incapable of making good on.

The way he is glibly dismissed by many as just a one-punch wonder does him less than justice, since he knocked out everyone he faced before Fury, Parker and Zhang.

The man from Tuscaloosa sent shock waves through boxing for several years, thrilling the fans as he did so.

But any irresponsible talk of him taking on Anthony Joshua now is to be discouraged – for the good of however much of his health remains.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been embroiled in a ‘feud’ with the Royal Family since they stepped back as senior royals in 2020.

However, things between the now-estranged couple and the Firm weren’t always so tense.

The Duchess of Sussex began seeing Prince Harry in 2016 after the pair met on a blind date, with the couple tying the knot in 2018.

Prior to the shock decision to step away from the Royal Family, the pair completed various royal engagements.

During these outings, Meghan met with doting crowds, with one resurfaced clip catching the attention of fans.

The former Suits actress had her very own princess moment when she met with a young fan at the Canadian High Commission in London in 2019.

As part of the annual Commonwealth Day celebrations, the Sussexes were invited to meet the high commissioner and attend a special church service at Westminster Abbey alongside other senior royals to mark the occasion.

In pictures seen on the Mirror, Meghan can be seen bent down to meet a young boy and a girl, who gifted her a bouquet of white flowers with the young boy also giving Meghan a little bow.

Sharing the clip on TikTok, one fan wrote: “She’s the cutest.” Other fans were also loving the sweet interaction and took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“I don’t care what anyone says I like them,” one person wrote with two heart emojis. Another said: “Meghan is so queenly I swear. UK must miss her. She has elegant and class.” A third fan commented: “Harry’s pride looking at all of that,” while someone else referred to the Duchess of Sussex as “Queen Meghan”.

Sadly, Harry and Meghan’s time in the Royal Family wasn’t to last and they announced their decision to step down in 2020.

Since then, the couple have issued a number of attacks against The Firm.

In their bombshell Netflix docuseries, Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and claimed the Prince of Wales left him terrified after he screamed and shouted at him during the Sandringham summit.

He also took aim at his dad, King Charles and discussed the tense Megxit crisis meeting held with the Queen in January 2020.

‘Not even close’ – Tyson Fury’s US promoter names fighter who is better than Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury’s US promoter Todd duBoef believes Naoya Inoue is head and heels above Oleksandr Usyk in class.

The Ukrainian slickster became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years last month when he defeated Fury via split decision in Saudi Arabia.

In doing so, he was crowned the third male two-weight undisputed champion of the four-belt era alongside Inoue and Terence Crawford – having previously unified the cruiserweight division in 2018.

The victory saw him shoot to the top of the coveted Ring Magazine pound-for-pound rankings.

Oleksandr Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk confirms the date for rematch against Tyson Fury and hints at a potential trilogy fight
But Duboef believes his client, Inoue, deserves to occupy the No. 1 spot.

“I think Naoya Inoue is the best in the world, Oleksandr Usyk is not even close,” the Top Rank President told talkSPORT.com.

“People have this infatuation with pound-for-pound but those rankings are easily moved by the last performance.

“If I showed you round five of Fury vs Usyk and I said ‘he’s the number one pound-for-pound guy’ you would go ‘What? How can he be number one, he’s being hit with every f***ing uppercut.

“‘His head is up his hands are down’ that’s my opinion. We haven’t really seen that with Inoue, I mean we saw a flash knockdown in his last fight but that was nothing.

“I’m not knocking Usyk but you did see him get hit by a body shot in the Dubois fight which people thought was controversial.

“I think Crawford is a terrific fighter but I think he offers a different game to what Inoue does.

“Inoue has masterfully conquered every division and takes on everyone.

“He has a confidence about him and the way he dismantles people is really unique.”

Inoue is currently ranked No.2 by the Ring Magazine with Crawford one place behind him.

The Japanese sensation defeated Marlon Tapales last December to become undisputed at super-bantamweight, one year removed from his reign of supremacy over the bantamweight division.

In June 2022, he became the first Japanese boxer to top the pound-for-pound ratings but has since slipped down the list despite continuing to bulldoze through his opposition.

EXCLUSIVE: Sarah Ferguson in ‘thinly-veiled dig’ at Meghan Markle as she dishes out advice

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson has kept fans guessing whether she made a sly dig at Meghan Markle as the Duchess of York spoke on her podcast

The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson is thought to have made a ‘thinly-veiled dig’ at Meghan Markle after dishing out advice to princesses.

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife has kept fans guessing about who she was aiming her jibe at after she made some intriguing comments on her podcast. The Duchess of York was advising princesses when she set tongues wagging she could have been referring to Meghan.

She said in a past podcast that no one wants to see a “grumpy princess,” when she was talking about the advice she would give to her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. However, the clip resurfaced just as Meghan was spotted looking forlorn when she was out and about after losing her Spotify deal last year.

Fergie revealed that she gave the words of wisdom to her girls as she handed out etiquette tips on her podcast, Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah. She said she always told her daughters to ‘smile’ when out in public. She added: “I always say to my girls: when you’re out on the public stage, smile. And if you don’t want to be polite, don’t go on the public stage – because no-one wants to see a grumpy princess. You’ve heard me say that many times.”

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and King Charles have been given a warning as she spoke about the need for “forgiveness”. The Duchess of York opened up about life inside the Royal Family during an appearance at Cannes Film Festival. She spoke about the importance of supporting one another, as The Firm has been embroiled in a bitter feud for years.

Speaking with PEOPLE magazine at the 2024 amFar Gala, Sarah said: “I think the key to life is that we all support each other. And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself and forgiveness of others.” Royal expert Tom Quinn has suggested her comments were a “clear reference” to Harry’s strained relationship with his father.

He said: “She made the remarks while being asked whether she had been supporting King Charles and Princess Kate as they receive treatment for cancer. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, royal author Tom Quinn said Fergie’s comments were a “clear reference to Meghan and Harry’s ongoing feud with Prince William and King Charles”.

Fans were convinced The Duchess of York could have made a ' dig' at Meghan Markle after dishing out advice to princesses.

He added: “But the Duchess [of York] has her own well-publicised family difficulties to deal with – she has never stopped trying to persuade the senior royals to rehabilitate her former husband Prince Andrew and when she talked about unity and the need for forgiveness, she no doubt also had her husband in mind.

The Duchess of York is only too well aware from her own life in the Royal family that anger and bitterness ultimately lead nowhere. She has always felt that Harry needs to pull himself together and try to forget about the past for the sake of the family. She feels Harry is just taking things too far.”

Usyk dropped Fury in the ninth round en route to victory in the pair’s bid to unite all four belts for the first time in 25 years.

‘The Cat’ claimed a split-decision win with scorecards of 115-112 and 114-113 in his favour while the third judge gave it to Fury 114-113.

A second fight between the two had been targeted for autumn 2024 but has since been pushed back to allow Fury and Usyk to recover from their respective facial injuries.

It is unclear if the undisputed titles will be on the line, with Usyk currently waiting to discover if he will be forced to vacate his IBF belt.

The 37-year-old has filed for an ‘exception’ to keep the strap, which was anticipated to be the prize for Filip Hrgovic against Daniel Dubois.

Fury vs Usyk 2: Date and start time

This 12-round heavyweight title clash is set to take place on Saturday, December 21.

The rematch will again be held at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Start times and additional details are expected to be announced in due course.

If it follows the timings of the first fight, the undercard will get underway at 7pm UK time, with main event ringwalks around 11:30pm.

The event is expected to be broadcast live on TNT Sports Box Office – the new name for BT Sport – but pricing is yet to be revealed.

talkSPORT will have updates throughout fight week and talkSPORT.com will be running a live blog of all the action as well.

Meghan Markle’s ‘sudden sadness’ over Archie and Lilibet as rumours swirl over family future

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be feeling ‘sad’ as they watch their children Archie and Lilibet grow up ‘so fast’ – with the Duchess of Sussex missing her ‘babies’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle must be having a whirlwind ride of memories as their daughter, Lilibet, turns three this week. It seems like just weeks ago they were celebrating Archie’s fifth birthday, with the couple undoubtedly feeling like time is whizzing by.

During a recent trip to Nigeria, which coincided with Mother’s Day in America, Meghan, 42, who said she is 43% Nigerian, shared her longing for Archie and Lilibet, stating: “Today is Mother’s Day,” adding: “So it feels appropriate that although of course we are missing our children, I’m missing my babies, it feels very appropriate to be in the motherland and amongst family.”

A source has said that Meghan finds it hard to be separated from her youngsters, saying: “Meghan doesn’t like being away from her children as she doesn’t want to miss a thing with them growing up so fast. With Lili turning three, it’s really got Meghan and Harry thinking about their future and how quickly the children are growing up. Meghan especially feels that her babies are no longer babies and like most mums, it makes her slightly sad and wistful that the baby years have come to an end.”

The transition from babies to school-age children is a challenge that Meghan, like many parents, may be grappling with. Parenting guru Amanda Jenner told OK!: “For many parents, it really is a mix of emotions when you think your children are growing up so fast; it can leave parents feeling anxious about how fast time is going but it is completely natural. It’s perfectly normal that Meghan is feeling that sudden sadness and it’s important to find the positive. This can also be a time for parents to find themselves again as a person.

“When you first have a baby it’s completely overwhelming and you can feel like you lose your identity, so this can be the perfect time to reconnect with yourself and find something you love to do. When they reach school age this can be a time when you as a parent will have separation anxiety, which you are entitled to feel. So connect with other parents and talk about your feelings. On the plus side you may make a new circle of friends within school life and you can share this journey together.”

Rumours are rife about whether Harry, 39, and Meghan, who made their big move from the UK to California in 2020, are planning to add another bundle of joy to their brood. The rumour mill has been in overdrive with whispers that the duo is keen to grow their family, especially since Meghan has openly talked about her wish for siblings during her own childhood.

Meghan, who has two half-siblings from her father’s side, said in 2021: “I grew up as an only child, which everyone who grew up around me knows, and I wished I had siblings.”

Despite this, it appears that the Sussexes are set to remain a family of four. Harry has previously expressed that they do not plan to have more children, citing environmental concerns as a significant factor. During a 2019 interview, he famously stated: “Two, maximum!” He elaborated on the decision, saying: “I’ve always thought: this place is borrowed. And, surely, being as intelligent as we all are, or as evolved as we all are supposed to be, we should be able to leave something better behind for the next generation.”

This July marks four years since Meghan endured the pain of a miscarriage, a personal tragedy she has openly discussed in hopes of supporting others who have faced similar heartache. In 2020, a year after welcoming Archie into the world, Meghan experienced another pregnancy but tragically lost the baby. She later shared her harrowing experience in a deeply personal essay, revealing that she felt a sharp cramp while caring for Archie and subsequently had to be hospitalised.

Reflecting on the painful process of healing from such a loss, she revealed, “Hours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears. Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal. Losing a child means carrying an almost unbearable grief.”

As the anniversary of this heartbreak looms, the source claims that Meghan is feeling a natural sadness at this time of year – but has her family to bring her joy. “She feels so blessed to have Archie and Lili and the family she and Harry have created. But naturally, as the anniversary of her miscarriage approaches, she does have sadness. The date is very poignant for her,” the source says. “But Meghan is always looking towards the future and is just so grateful for the happiness she has in her life with Harry and the kids.”

In addition to being thankful for her children, Meghan also delights in watching their personalities develop. “I’m so fortunate that we have two beautiful, healthy, very chatty, sweet children,” Meghan said in May. Alongside the joys of motherhood, the duchess is candid about its challenges and, last year, she voiced her concerns over the potential dangers of social media for her children.

She said: “I will say I feel fortunate that our children are at an age, again quite young, so this isn’t in our immediate future, but I also feel frightened by how it’s continuing to change and this will be in front of us.”

With Archie set to begin kindergarten in August and Lilibet getting ready for preschool, Meghan will have more time to focus on work. After recently launching her lifestyle and cooking brand, American Riviera Orchard, the former actress will no doubt have a jam-packed schedule for the rest of the year.

“With the kids getting older, Meghan will be taking on more work as she’ll have more free time and it’s important for her to show the kids, especially Lili, that mummies work as well,” says the source. “But her family life will always come first, she will fit work in around the children’s schedules so she is there for them when they need her and she just wants to make the most of and cherish every moment with them as they grow up,” they add.

But Saudi boxing chief Alalshikh insists Jordan, co-host Jim White and talkSPORT are welcome to the Kingdom any time.

“I asked my team to invite talkSPORT to the 5vs5 event, especially you and Simon but they tell me that Simon is on vacation in America,” Alalshikh told White and Jordan on talkSPORT on Wednesday afternoon.

Promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren have selected five fighters each to go head-to-head this weekend in the Middle East to determine who has the better roster.

The unprecedented tournament is headlined by the return of Deontay Wilder against Zhilei Zhang and is accompanied by several exciting match ups, including Daniel Dubois vs Filip Hrgovic, Raymond Ford vs Nick Ball, Hamzah Sheeraz vs Ammo Williams and Willy Hutchinson vs Craig Richards.

Jordan may not be able to attend the event, but the former Crystal Palace chairman was pleased to hear there was no issue between boxing decision makers in Saudi Arabia and talkSPORT.

Jordan responded: “I’m very pleased to hear that, Turki, because from our point of view, we’ve heard a lot of things about the response to some of the observations that we’ve made.

“And it’s always interesting to hear first hand from the person. I think lots of the things you’re doing in the sport are very interesting and of course, when you challenge the orthodoxy, people will push back against it.

“But I’m fascinated with what you’re doing, and your development and your format creation – and you’re making the fights happen.”

Jordan has been full of praise for Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the sport and their ability to make the big fights happen.

However, he has raised concerns about the detrimental affects it could have on British boxing if all the big fights continue to go to Saudi Arabia.

A point Alalshikh rebutted, saying: “Thank you, sir. There is some points I am with you and I can understand. Of course, you want the big fights in your country and I understand this.

“But boxing has a lot of problems and we want you and all the people and the fans to understand what we are doing, for that we invite you to the event.

“We don’t want to take the place of London or Las Vegas, but we want to put our city on the map and this our right.

“I want you and the honest guy to support us. Sometimes what bothers me is when they talk about sports washing and why it is in Riyadh.

‘Wonderful success’ – Zhilei Zhang explains Tyson Fury weight ‘blueprint’ he has used to prepare for Deontay Wilder fight

Zhilei Zhang has piled on the pounds ahead of his upcoming clash with Deontay Wilder on Saturday night.

The Chinese puncher is set to tip the scales at close to 300lbs for their bout on the unprecedented Queensberry vs Matchroom 5vs5 tournament.

‘Big Bang’ weighed in at a career-heaviest 291lbs for his last outing against Joseph Parker.

But it appears he will surpass that figure when he steps on the scales on Friday afternoon as he looks to physically dominate Wilder like Tyson Fury did in their second and third fights.

Having boxed to a draw in their inaugural encounter, Fury opted to pack on 17lbs for their rematch in order to help him force Wilder onto his heels and nullify the American’s legendary punching power.

The plan worked to perfection, with Fury decking Wilder twice en route to a seventh round stoppage victory.

He added another 4lbs of mass for the trilogy and went on to knock out Wilder in the eleventh stanza after a far more competitive fight.

Inspired by Fury’s successes, Zhang is hoping to follow his blueprint this weekend.

“I have actually put on a lot of weight for this fight to prepare for Deontay Wilder,” Zhang told The Metro.

“From watching Tyson Fury’s fights against Wilder I believe Fury had some wonderful success when he put on a lot of weight.

“He was punching a lot harder and he was also able to absorb Wilder’s power.

“Right now I weigh about 295lbs. I think it is my personal record. Wilder is very dangerous, I have to give him a lot of respect.
Lawrence Okolie offers Oleksandr Usyk the opportunity to become three-weight world champion and also hints at potential fights with Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang
“But taking this approach will definitely change the dynamic of the fight.”

Adding extra weight to his already massive frame seems somewhat counterintuitive given the 41 year olds questionable gas tank.

In his last outing against Parker, Zhang had the Kiwi down twice in rounds three and eight, but seemingly lacked the conditioning to stop his adversary as he fell to defeat on points.

Only time will tell if coming up in weight will pay dividends for Zhang.
