During Nigeria trip, Meghan reveals she has proven her abilities, and continues she will consider coming back to UK on the condition that the royal family invites her to undertake Princess Kate’s groundbreaking tasks – noted in an interview… Details in comment

Meghan Markle has reportedly set forth two conditions, including a ‘grovelling apology’, before she considers mending fences with Prince William and Kate Middleton, claims one Royal expert.

The Sussexes’ rapport with the Royal Family has been tense post their Royal duty departure in 2020 and their move stateside, placing Prince Harry and Meghan at loggerheads with the upper echelons of royalty.

Royal commentator Tom Quinn told the Mirror: “Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologised for the past – it’s not going to happen.”

Since stepping back, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t shied away from airing their Royal grievances, be it through their explosive Oprah Winfrey interview or their contentious Netflix docuseries.

Quinn implies that Meghan is the barrier to Harry seeking amends with the Prince and Princess of Wales, despite Kate’s recent health scare, reports the Daily Record.

He maintained: “There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening. Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it.”

The royal author claims that William and Kate have made efforts to repair ties with the Sussexes and have extended an invitation to Meghan and Harry, encouraging them to bring Archie and Lilibet to the UK for a visit – but Meghan has “refused.”

The Royal author alleges that despite efforts by William and Kate to mend fences with the Sussexes – including an invitation for Meghan and Harry to bring their children Archie and Lilibet to the UK for a visit – Meghan has declined.

“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” he added. “William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to makeup, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”

The relationship between the Sussexes and the Cambridges has been fraught following the Sussexes’ candid revelations about Royal life in their Netflix documentary series and their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare sent shockwaves through the Royal family with its explosive claims. The Duke of Sussex recounts a fierce row with his brother Prince William, accusing him of labelling Meghan Markle as “difficult”, “rude”, and “abrasive”.

The book goes on to describe how the altercation escalated, alleging that William grabbed Harry by the collar, ripped his necklace, and knocked him to the floor.

KATE Middleton is the “biggest star” among the royal family and “no one else compares” to her, The Sun’s royal photographer has said.

Arthur Edwards spoke on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show praised the Princess of Wales, 42, who revealed her cancer diagnosis in March, for being an “incredible woman.”

Princess Kate has yet to return to her public role four months after having surgery in January, and later sharing that she was undergoing a preventative treatment programme.

A senior royal aide said she will only resume those duties once she has the “green light from doctors”.

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, Arthur shared: “She’s just a huge star in the royal family. I mean, it’s no secret that she is the biggest star of them all.”

He added: “I think she’s just an incredible woman in my view.

“She is not only a mother and rearing three beautiful children, she’s a great member of the royal family.

“She’s a hardworking member of the royal family.

“She’s a great photographer, I have to say that, I must say her pictures get better and better and she shares them with us all.”

    Hardworking royal

It was revealed last week that the Princess of Wales has played a key role in a new early years project and has been regularly informed about its development.

A senior royal aide confirmed: “The Princess of Wales was the driving force behind the business task force.

“She has been kept up to date since the inception of the task force and she has read the report and been briefed on it.”

Arthur, who has served as a royal photographer for The Sun for over 45 years and has done over 200 royal tours in over 120 countries, added that he expects the royal mum-of-three has been “pretty busy” working behind closed doors.

He continued: “I imagine like the King when he was getting treatment he was still working on his boxes and stuff, I imagined she’s doing the same.

“Even though we’re not seeing her, she’s not making public appearances, I imagine she’s still pretty busy doing that.”

He added that he thought it “won’t be long” before we see Princess Kate in action again.

Arthur said: “The thing is, they can’t engage with the public because of infection, that’s the problem.

“So it’s not like you wouldn’t want to, it’s just she’s ordered not to.”

    Box office star

This follows recent YouGov data finding Kate to be the most popular royal with 76 per cent of people viewing her positively, which is an increase of six per cent since January.

Royal author Phil Dampier told Fabulous: “There’s no doubt that the Princess of Wales is the box office star of the royal family and they are missing her terribly.”

Prince William is the second most popular royal with a 73 per cent approval rating, Princess Anne was third (71 per cent), with King Charles coming in fourth (63 per cent).

Kensington Palace’s original statement on Kate Middleton’s surgery

KENSINGTON Palace released a statement in January after Kate had undergone surgery.

Sources made it clear Kate would be out of action until at least Easter.

The palace said: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate.

“She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.

“Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share.

“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologise to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements.

“She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”

Prince Harry (31 per cent) and Meghan Markle (26 per cent) came bottom of the list, with only Prince Andrew (six per cent) below them in the table.

This follows Harry slamming the royal family in his bombshell Spare memoir where he claimed William ‘attacked’ him in a row over Meghan.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also spilled details about the royal family in their Harry & Meghan Netflix documentary.

    Finding solace

Kate and King Charles are said to be “seeking solace and comfort from one another” and will be each other’s “shoulder to lean on” after both being diagnosed with cancer.

Amid their ongoing health battles, royal commentator Jennie Bond claimed the pair, who have been growing “closer and closer” over the years, will take comfort in the fact they both have a “shoulder to lean.”

The Sun previously revealed King Charles had an “emotional” lunch with “beloved daughter-in-law” Kate hours before she revealed cancer diagnosis.

“Charles and Catherine have been getting closer and closer over the years,” the royal commentator told Bella.

“He’s had a lot of admiration for her, even before they both became ill, but adversity always has the effect of binding people so much closer together.”

Sean Ono has received death threats after mocking Prince Harry’s memoir with a brutal two-word swipe.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sean revealed that he has faced numerous death threats after he made an indirect comment that Harry should have titled his memoir “Spare Me”.

He wrote: “I’ve had three to four death threats since making fun of Harry’s book title and then later saying it was justified because he’s an idiot and that he and I both deserve to be mocked. Yay internet.”

Some comments were particularly hurtful, with one referencing his late father’s murder.

John Lennon was murdered in December 1980 by Mark David Chapman, who was sentenced to 20 years to life before being repeatedly denied parole.

Sean’s initial tweet read: “My long-awaited review of Prince Harry’s autobiography is two words: ‘Spare Me.’”

He added: “We met once. That was before I realised he was an idiot.”

In a separate post, Sean said he sympathises with Harry to a certain level but that the Duke of Sussex has “earned some mockery”.

He wrote: “I do empathise with him generally. But the way he whines and wangs on about things is really too much. I’m just having a little fun. I think he’s earned some mockery. (I’m sure I have as well).”

This is not the first time that Sean has criticised Spare. After the 316-page read was published, he said: “When Harry’s editor read the sentence: ‘My penis was oscillating between extremely sensitive, and borderline traumatised,’ did they not want to stage an intervention of some sort?

“I mean that is for sure one of the worst sentences ever written in the English language.”

Prince Harry released his memoir in January 2023. He received a mountain of criticism over the attacks in the book against members of the Royal Family.

Prince Harry enthusiasts have been gushing over a resurfaced clip that captures the Duke of Sussex beaming with joy, dubbing it a top moment for the Royal.

A bashful Prince Harry, 39, was captured on film ambling towards the lens, hands tucked away, as ardent Royal Family followers declared this scene as “one of my favourite moments”. The footage, shared on Twitter, quickly amassed thousands of likes, endearing the Duke to fans even more with his charming demeanour in the video.

The video’s caption expressed heartfelt sentiment: “Undoubtedly one of my favourite moments. Watching Prince Harry so overjoyed at the birth of his sweet baby Archie warms my heart. Am so happy he got the beautiful family he always dreamed of.”

An animated Prince Harry was heard exclaiming “X marks the spot” while grinning during a media appearance. Surrounded by horses, he paused to admire them, sharing a smile before turning back to face the camera.

“Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. How any woman does it is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled.”

Later in the footage, Prince Harry was overheard lavishing praise on Meghan, expressing his immense pride for the Duchess of Sussex before returning indoors. The affectionate Royal even took a moment to thank the horses behind him.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry snubbed members of the Royal Family as celebs attended Princess Lilibet’s third birthday bash.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t invite the Royal Family to their daughter’s birthday party so they could “avoid potential drama”, according to an expert.

Princess Lilibet celebrated her third birthday on Tuesday, with her parents hosting a special birthday bash over the weekend. The party was reportedly attended by celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, but the royals didn’t make an appearance.

Royal author Tom Quinn said the Sussexes failed to send out invitations to the Royal Family and now relationship expert Louella Alderson has suggested why.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: “Given the tensions between the Royal Family and Harry and Meghan, it’s not surprising that they chose to celebrate Princess Lilibet’s birthday privately with their own close circle of friends and family.”

She added: “Their decision to exclude the Royal Family from the celebration could suggest that there is still unresolved tension or distance between them.

“It’s also possible that Harry and Meghan wanted to have a more intimate and personal celebration for their daughter’s first birthday without any outside interference or potential drama.

“They may have felt that celebrating with just their closest loved ones would create a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone involved.”

Louella said there still seems to be tension between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, adding: “It seems that the relationships between Harry and Meghan and the Royal Family are still strained. Princess Kate and King Charles’ illnesses don’t seem to have opened any communication channels as of yet.”

However one expert noted that Fergie had never burned bridges - unlike the Sussexes

Louella continued: “However, it’s important to remember that family dynamics and relationships are complex and can take time to heal. It’s possible that Harry and Meghan are still working through their feelings towards the Royal Family and may eventually choose to involve them in future celebrations or events once they have had more time to heal.”

Sharing what happened at Lilibet’s birthday bash, royal expert Tom Quinn said: “Rather than go for a low-key celebration Harry and Meghan have spent the past weekend enjoying a pre-birthday bash for their daughter Lillibet’s third birthday – hugely expensive presents have been ruled out but the couple’s mansion in California was awash with celebrities including Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy who is just a few months older than Lilibet.”

He added that it was “shocking” that no invitiation were issuesd to members of the Royal Family, with one of Harry’s army friends reportedly saying: “Harry knew they wouldn’t come anyway and he was pretty sure he would not have wanted them there.

“But he is really sad that Archie and Lilibet cannot have any kind of relationship with their cousins while his feud with his family continues.”

The royals, it was announced, would not be seeing Harry this trip. Nor would he be welcome to stay in any of the many palaces, castles or cottages in the King’s portfolio.

No: King Charles, currently battling cancer, was too ‘busy’ to carve out even a few moments for his son, instead hosting a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Of the 30,000 guests invited to that event, Harry did not make the list.

Charles, however, did find time to announce, within hours of Harry landing in London on Monday, that Prince William would be named Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps — Harry’s former regiment, and a role long assumed for him.

Charles, however, did find time to announce, within hours of Harry landing in London on Monday, that Prince William would be named Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps — Harry’s former regiment, and a role long assumed for him.

As for William: He, of course, also didn’t see Harry this week, instead hosting an investiture in Windsor the morning of Harry’s Invictus celebration.

He appears to have made clear his feelings toward Harry, but the stakes are now truly high: Kate Middleton is undergoing chemotherapy for her cancer. The idea that Harry — and, by default, Meghan — could be ever trusted with any information about her or Charles’s health is laughable.

Don’t forget: After Harry made that whirlwind trip to see Charles after his diagnosis was announced in February — granted an audience of less than 30 minutes for over 22 hours in the air — he turned around and gave an interview to ABC News.

Did he go into specifics about Charles’s diagnosis or treatment? No, but probably because Harry is privy to nothing.

That didn’t stop him from talking, or from presuming that such a catastrophic illness meant all would be forgiven.

‘I think any illness, any sickness, brings families together’, Harry told ABC’s Will Reeve days after that briefest of house calls.

‘I’ve got other trips planned that would take me through the UK or back to the UK,’ Harry added, ‘so I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.’

    How’s that working out, Harry?

Recall, too, that a well-sourced report in the UK press promptly speculated that Harry would step back in as a part-time working royal — against the distinct orders of the late Queen — to fill in for Charles and Kate.

That idea was quickly and unequivocally shot down.

No way back, well-placed sources told the Mail.

‘The terms of the [Sandringham] accord were very clear,’ a highly-placed source said, ‘and nothing that has happened recently, including the King’s illness, has changed that.’

Not a single royal — not even his cousin Zara Tindall — showed up to support Harry on Wednesday, or was seen with him during his very brief stint in London.

His wife stayed back in America.

He was not seen with a single friend. What a lonely existence Harry has conjured for himself, an existential hell of his own making.

In fact, the only relatives to support Harry this trip were his mother’s siblings: Diana’s sister Lady Jane Fellowes and her brother Charles — he of the ‘f-you’ eulogy to the royals at Diana’s funeral and currently peddling his memoir — were present at St. Paul’s on Wednesday.

This alliance can only further fracture Harry’s position with the Palace. And without the Palace, he has nothing to offer.

To quote that legendary ‘South Park’ episode — ‘WAAAGH’!

And what does this all mean for Meghan Markle?

After all, is there be a greater representative of family than Ms. Markle, who sat with Oprah — Harry limply next to her — and smugly implied that the royals were racists who didn’t care that she was pregnant and suicidal?

Fear not, world, because delayed podcasts and dreams deferred will not keep Meghan Markle down!

After Harry’s ignominious visit to the UK, she is due to reunite with him in Nigeria on Friday, a three-day itinerary meant to evoke a royal tour.

    Surely, this is her moment.

The expert continued: “This is the thing the Beckhams have not only survived, they’ve thrived.

“The Beckhams and the Sussexes aren’t comparable – they aren’t on the same level.

“There isn’t a modest comparison other than the superficial, because you’ve got those who’ve basically survived decades – and they’re absolutely huge.
Meghan Markle will NEVER return to Britain – she knows she is so unpopular, reveals expert
“So I don’t think there’s any possibility of Harry and Meghan resembling that level.”

Prince Harry and David have enjoyed a close friendship over the years, but cracks have formed in recent times.

The Duke of Sussex allegedly called David to accuse him and his wife Victoria of leaking stories, leaving the Beckhams ‘furious.’

And experts recently said that if Meghan’s business failed, it would be the “ultimate revenge” for Victoria.

He said the foursome had been pals, and the Beckhams’ attended the Sussexes’ wedding.

Richard continued: “We had a period where apparently Meghan was endorsing Victoria’s brand, and the couples were apparently getting on in one way or another.”

However, he believed Megxit and the lead up to it may have played its part in their friendship falling to bits.

Richard said: “There’s no doubt that the Beckhams are very, very patriotic – they are great supporters of the Royal Family.

    INSIDE THE BECKHAM-SUSSEX FEUD

Prince Harry and David have enjoyed a close friendship over the years, but cracks have formed in the last few years.

The Duke of Sussex allegedly called David to accuse him and his wife Victoria of leaking stories, leaving David ‘furious.’

David was also “snubbed” by Harry after flying for 22 hours from London to Sydney at the royal’s request, for the 2018 Invictus Games.

Cracks first started emerging in the pair’s friendship last spring when the former footballer invited Prince William and Kate to his son Brooklyn’s wedding – and not Harry and Meghan.

At the time, a source said: “David’s attachment and history go back with William and Kate and they have a very strong relationship and they were their choice of wedding guests. It was always about them, it was never about Meghan and Harry.

“They are the people David and Victoria are attached to and it’s always been about them because they’ve had a long history together.”

And perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence that after the apparent snub, Meghan, 42, seemingly stopped wearing Victoria’s designs – while Kate wore them more frequently.

She wore one of the designer’s dresses to an engagement in January and was spotted donning a pair of VB glasses at Wimbledon over the summer.

She even reintroduced a Victoria Beckham bag to her wardrobe – taking the white Quincy tote out on a royal visit in May, the first time she had been seen with it since 2016.

Since the Beckhams have appeared to further distance themselves from the Sussexes, a royal expert has claimed the move has strengthened David’s friendship with Prince William and the King.

Sarah Hewson, royal editor of Talk TV, said: “Perhaps by distancing himself from Harry and Meghan, it has helped David cement his relationships with William and the King.

“After all, he is due to meet with Charles for dinner soon. I think David has made it very clear whose side he is on.

    “David is a self-proclaimed royalist.

“He queued for 12 hours to see the Queen lying in State and he has worked with the royals on several charitable campaigns.”

“I suspect strongly, and this is just my view, that they didn’t like the way the Sussexes monetized their Royal connections for gain.”

He said that the Beckhams may have realised they were “too close” to the Sussexes – especially as they’re also close friends with Wills and Kate.

The expert continued: “It would seem that what was once a blossoming friendship has now descended into something of a rift.”

The Beckhams’ documentary – released last October – had 208.5million hours watched in 2023.

Meanwhile, Harry & Meghan had 72.9million hours watched during the year, although their show was released the year before and it’s normal for show views to decline over time.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix series was an instant hit when it debuted on December 2022.

The show was so popular that it was Netflix’s biggest debut at the time, with 81.6million hours viewed in the first four days.

However, it seems the initial furore quickly died down.

This could have been due to fans hoping for royal insight in the show, but instead being frustrated at the couple being “whiny”, as some stated.

Meanwhile, other viewers slammed Meghan for “mocking” having to curtsy to the late-Queen.

In comparison, fans praised David for sharing honestly about his career and a number of comical family life scenes went viral.

Meghan Markle’s popularity is in the gutter – her monetisation of royals was last straw, warns expert after damning poll

A ROYAL expert has revealed Meghan Markle’s popularity is in the gutter because of her “monetising” of royals.

The Duchess of Sussex popularity took a significant hit with a new poll unveiling she’s not that popular among Brits.

The Ipsos poll, marking the first anniversary of King Charles’ Coronation, showed a whopping 75 percent percent of Brits are not fans of Meghan.

Prince Harry has also been hit by the results, languishing near the bottom of the popularity table with only 31 per cent approval rating.

Meghan and Harry and the royal family have parted company and done so with so many public appearances that have caused problems

    Richard FitzwilliamsRpyal Expert

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams dubbed Meghan’s popularity as “absolutely terrible”.

He told The Sun Online: “She is the only member of the royal family that has actually gone down.”

Mr Fitzwilliams blames much of Meghan and Harry’s popularity woes to their post-royal public life.

He slammed the couple for “capitalising” on their royal connections.

The expert added: “The problem is that when the Sussexes ceased to be senior working Royals, they started attacking the royal family and monetised their royal connections.

“That seems to me to be so destructive. They should have had more publicity conscious decisions a great deal earlier.”

But the poll also shows that couple seems to resonate more with younger generations – with Meghan boasting 42 percent among 18 to 34 years-olds.

However, the expert is convinced the overall sentiment remains negative.

He added: “Obviously, there was support during the period of the Oprah interview and Meghan is an American.

“But I think that people’s eyes have been open to the fact that they exploit the connection they have with the Crown and yet they also attack the Monarchy.

“If they weren’t royals, I don’t think there would be any specific interest in them.”

He claims the consequences of these actions are evident after Meghan’s decision not to attend Harry’s upcoming service at St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

The royal commentator said: “Harry is very wise not to bring Meghan to the Invictus Games’ anniversary because it just simply wouldn’t work.”

The couple’s rift surrounding Omid Scobie’s comments and their previous incendiary interviews have done little to repair the their fractious relationship with the Palace.

He added: “But is the way that Meghan and Harry and the royal family have parted company and done so with so many public appearances that have caused problems.

“I don’t think that the royal family is particularly concerned with Harry and Meghan’s popularity.

“I think it’s the Sussexes who should be concerned by the lack of it, because it’s very low in Britain. And it’s also low in the United States.

“They’ve been pretty brutal personal attacks. Personal things have been said about the Prince of Wales about William’s supposed attack on Harry which made the last headline in Spare.”

Even if Meghan did offer an olive branch to the Palace, it does not mean she is likely to give up her new life in California, he said.

The former Hollywood actress and Harry are focused on their various media projects – including their non-profit organisation Archewell.

Mr Fitzwilliams added: “There’s absolutely no question that the rest would never have got to this stage if they stopped or hadn’t started to attack the royal family since they believe they got such a raw deal when they were members of it.”

  • EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry ‘looking on with sadness’ as Charles and William shine at D-Day event – expert

EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry ‘looking on with sadness’ as Charles and William shine at D-Day event – expert

Nearly all members of the Royal Family, including King Charles and Prince William, will be at events today and tomorrow commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day – but Prince Harry will not be among them

Prince Harry will be looking on with some sadness after his royal relatives gathered for events to commemorate D-Day, according to an expert.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the pivotal moment in the Second World War and like at most military commemorations, there will be a large royal presence. Today, King Charles joined his son Prince William at the UK’s national commemorative event in Portsmouth before they both head off for events in France on Thursday.

Of course, there will be no sign of Harry, who quit his working royal role four years ago and now lives in California amid a bitter feud with his father and brother. Harry himself is an Army veteran, having seen active service on tours of duty in Afghanistan.

And royal historian and expert Dr Tessa Dunlop believes Harry will be the missing link at the commemorations, especially given his strong military background. She told the Mirror: “Once upon a time Prince Harry was a regular fixture at D-Day commemorations.

“His particular blend of emotional intelligence and military experience meant he always got the most out of the WWII veterans. In 2016 he famously wished a couple of nonagenarians well before their annual pilgrimage to Normandy, telling them how much he respected their actions on the beaches, then cheekily adding ‘don’t get into trouble and if you do, don’t get caught!”

“A few of those D-Day veterans are still alive and will be in France for this year’s 80th anniversary commemorations. Also paying their respects at Britain’s Normandy Memorial will be the King, on his first overseas trip since cancer treatment, and Queen Camilla. Meanwhile, the Canadian commemorative ceremony at Juno Beach will be attended by the Prince of Wales.

“It is a busy week for this royal trio, with Charles and Camilla attending a national memorial service and light show in Portsmouth before setting off for France. Of course, the missing link in all of this is Harry, a veteran and a respected name in military circles courtesy of his Afghanistan tours and Invictus Games success story.

“For the Duke of Sussex, looking on from the other side of the Atlantic, there will be some sadness. War is raging in the East of Europe right now and the Duke knows his presence not only captures headlines and boosts the Sussex brand, but helps tie war stories from the past to those in the present day.

“Likewise it is a loss for the Royal Family. The ageing King and Camilla with dutiful William know the drill but lack the pizzazz and lived frontline experience that these events thrive on.”

However, Tessa added that when it comes to the commemorations, it’s not the royals but the veterans themselves, who are the real stars of the show. She explained: “To view D-Day commemorative events through a royal prism is perhaps the wrong approach. As long as a few brave veterans can make those beaches, they are the real stars of the show. The royals, along with the rest of us, can only bow our heads in gratitude. Harry or no Harry, this is living history at its best.”
