Are Chas and Dave the new Posh ‘n’ Becks? As David Beckham is made an ambassador for the King’s charity, CLAUDIA CONNELL reveals the parallels between him and Charles

One is a heavily tattooed former footballer from humble beginnings, the other is the King of the United Kingdom and 14 commonwealth realms.

Now, David Beckham has been appointed an ambassador for His Majesty’s charity, the King’s Foundation.

You would be forgiven for thinking the pair have nothing in common other than their vast fortunes – but you would be wrong.

Here, CLAUDIA CONNELL celebrates all the similarities shared by Chas and Dave – the new Posh n Becks.

    The bee’s knees

When Becks and the King met at his Majesty’s estate at Highgrove ahead of the ambassador announcement at the start of this month, they bonded and chatted over their mutual love of bee keeping.

Charles – who in 1999 looked comfortable in a beekeeping suit when he visited an organic farm in Buenos Aires – has hives at his Gloucestershire home, while David keeps them at his country house in Oxfordshire.

Earlier in the year David presented Charles with a jar of his home-made honey – D’Beez Sticky Stuff.

Charles joked that they should do a taste comparison test with his own Duchy Originals honey.

It remains to be seen which one tastes the sweeter, but I think we all know which has the more tasteful name…

    Hunks in trunks

Never shy about showing off his buff body, we’ve seen plenty of pictures of David in his pants due to his voluminous modelling work.

Still fabulously fit at 49, David looks sensational in a pair of swimming trunks too, whether tiny budgie smugglers or more modest Bermudas.

The King may not have done any underwear commercials for Armani or H&M and we’ll probably never seen him in Speedos but His Majesty once had a toned and trim physique.

As a young man visiting Australia in 1981, he set pulses racing when he swam in the ocean in his trunks.

More recently, Charles rocked some floral swimwear while on holiday with Camilla in Barbados.

    Dapper dressers

Whether smart and formal or pared down and casual, both men are super sharp dressers.

It takes a certain swagger to pull off the suit look but both Charles and David do this with ease.

The King uses tailors Turnball & Asser and Anderson & Sheppard to make his formal outfits.

In the past, Beckham has used Saville Row tailors Kathryn Sargent and Richard James.

As the old saying goes, 'never brown in town' but David still pulls off a sharp suit

Having just signed a commercial deal with Hugo Boss, David now wears suits by their chief designer Loro Piana.

When playing lord of the manor, David looks the part in his Barbour wax jackets, fleece gilets by Outdoor and Country and peaked caps from Lock & Co.

Wellies are courtesy of Le Chameau, a big favourite with the Princess of Wales.

For Christmas last year, Victoria bought husband David a flock of chickens, a rooster and a coop for them all to live in at their £6million Cotswold’s house.

David loves to cook with the eggs, while Posh Spice likes to make jokes on her social media pages about her husband’s ‘big cock.’

Charles is also an enthusiastic hen keeper. Like his new bestie, he delights in collecting the eggs.

Chances are his wife, Camilla, who is said to love a smutty joke, probably has a few wisecracks of her own…. she just keeps them off Instagram.

    City gents, country squires

As working men, both David and Charles have a London residence (well, Charles has four but there’s only one he calls home.)

Clarence House is where the King lives when in the capital, preferring to keep the nearby Buckingham Palace for official business.

He also has many country residences but his favourite place in the world is Highgrove, his country estate in Gloucestershire.

But there’s nothing Becks loves more than donning his wellies and Barbour and playing country squire at his sprawling estate in Oxfordshire – just a 40-minute tractor ride away from Highgrove.

    Horse and hounds

To be a true country gent you must enjoy the sport of kings, live in houses that smell of wet dog and wear clothes covered in the hound’s hair.

David also owns at least two Aston Martins (as well as assorted Bentleys, Rolls’, Maseratis and Land Rovers).

Despite being famous for her pout, friends say that Victoria has a sharp wit and sense of humour, as we saw in David’s Netflix series, Beckham.

The ‘be honest’ scene where Victoria claims to be working class (despite the fact her dad did the school run in a Rolls Royce) has spawned thousands of memes.

In 2001, she revealed to TV interviewer Michael Parkinson that she calls her husband ‘Golden Balls’. The nickname stuck.

Likewise, although much more private than Mrs Beckham, Queen Camilla is known for her great – and often risqué – sense of humour.

In his book, Charles III: New King, New Court, the Mail’s Robert Hardman revealed that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak describes her Majesty as ‘uproariously funny.’

The Beckham family recently upgraded their £5million starter yacht to a £16million spectacular 130-footer named Seven, in honour of Beckham’s old jersey number and their daughter Harper.

Poor old Charlie hasn’t had his own superyacht since Royal Yacht Britannia was decommissioned in 1997.

Not to worry though, he still gets invited aboard some pretty nice boats.

In 2017, when Prince of Wales, he and Camilla holidayed in Corfu aboard OKTO, the £50million yacht owned by Greek shipping magnet Theodore Angelopoulos.

Surely David would let Charles and Camilla charter Seven for a few days if they asked nicely?

    Stylish in a skirt

The picture of Beckham in France in 1999 wearing a sarong turned him into an international style icon – but Charles was looking stylish in skirts long before.

From his teenage years through to today, the King has embraced kilt wearing.

The King could turn out in his own tartan – which is woven from Scottish wool – at the Braemar Gathering in September.

As for Becks, it’s been 25 years since he was last seen in a skirt. Come on David, raise your game.

Tragic details of Meghan Markle’s parents’ troubled lives from bankruptcy to health woes

Meghan Markle’s parents Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle have had their fair share of heartbreak over the years ranging from the loss of loved ones to bankruptcy and health woes

Meghan Markle may be a globally famous icon but life hasn’t always been plain sailing for the Duchess Of Sussex or her parents.

There has been a string of tragedies to affect both her mother Doria Ragland and father Thomas Markle including health issues, incidents of racism, and personal loss. The former couple first met while working behind the scenes on General Hospital back in 1979.

They eventually fell in love and moved to Los Angeles where they welcomed their sole child together Meghan, in 1981. They eventually split when Meghan was just two years old with her then spending her time between both her mum’s and dad’s homes.

    Marital woes

During the documentary Thomas Markle: My Story, Thomas confessed that he was not the most present father figure as he said: “It went well for a while but I wasn’t home enough. Doria had other interests as well. What was going on in that household at that time wasn’t making me happy.

“Then we divorced after that. The whole family split up at that time. Doria moved with Meghan to a nice little house and I would see her on weekends and whenever I could.”

In an interview with InTouch Weekly Thomas’ son Tom Markle Jr. opened up on how he saw tempers fray between his father and his stepmother. He explained: “I saw the frustration, I saw the fighting, I saw all of this go down. Some of my dad and Doria’s fights were pretty horrendous, pretty loud, a lot of yelling and screaming.”

    Racial prejudice

After Doria and Thomas moved to Woodland Hills in Los Angeles Doria found herself encountering racial prejudice in the predominantly white neighbourhood. Being the mother of a biracial child led to assumptions which Meghan previously highlighted in an interview with Elle where she explained, “There was my mom, caramel in complexion with her light-skinned baby in tow, being asked where my mother was since they assumed she was the nanny.”

Doria has struggled with racial hatred

Doria’s struggle with racism was further highlighted during an episode of Harry & Meghan when Meghan told how she had been to a concert at the Hollywood Bowl with her mom when someone honked their horn at her and called her the n-word. She explained: “I just remember my mom, the grip that her hands had on the steering wheel. You could, it was so tight, like the knuckles get all white, and she was just silent the rest of the drive home. We never talked about it.”

Doria then admitted her regret at not discussing racism with Meghan more when she was a child. She said: “As a parent, in hindsight, absolutely, I would like to go back and have that kind of real conversation about how the world sees you.”

    Tragic loss

Doria lost her mum at 44 and then in 2011, just over a decade after that loss, her father Alvin passed away in a freak accident. Alvin had been out walking his dog when the lead got tangled around his legs. He then tripped and fell suffering a catastrophic brain injury which resulted in nine days in hospital and major surgery, but died of a brain bleed aged 82.

    Bankruptcy

Thomas won the lottery in 1990 meaning he wasn’t short on cash and funding Meghan’s private school education. However, by 2016 he found himself bankrupt. Meghan was hoping in 2017 he would be walking her down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry but reports suggested he was embarrassed of the Royals discovering his financial situation.

Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle would later suggest in 2018 that Meghan would not help her father when he was struggling financially. She claimed to Inside Edition: “He was very clear with her about the fact that he needed some help and by his report, twice, she flatly refused. I live on a lot less than she does and he really had to chew on his pride to call me and ask me for help.”

However, legal documents released in 2020 showed that Meghan was sending Thomas money from 2014 until she married Harry.

    Thomas’ health battles

Thomas found himself suffering two heart attacks prior to Meghan’s big day meaning he missed her nuptials and King Charles ended up walking her down the aisle in his place. Thomas was later accused of faking the heart attack but presented medical documents to the Daily Mail to prove it happened. He said: “I had two heart attacks, the second of which the doctor called a widow-maker and nearly killed me.”

Then in 2022 Thomas suffered a stroke after a fall. In 2023 while speaking to Australia’s 7News Thomas hit out at Meghan for acting like he was already dead saying: “I refuse to be buried by her.” However, he also expressed his desire to reconcile with Meghan in light of his declining health stating when asked what he would say to her given the chance: “Let’s go somewhere and talk. And I’d say, ‘What’s wrong? How can I fix this? … Of course I love you.’”

EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry ‘directly asked by King Charles not to leak any more Royal Family secrets’

The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from the royal family, including his father King Charles and brother Prince William, since stepping back from the royal family in 2020

King Charles has asked Prince Harry to stop giving away any more details about the royal family behind closed doors, an expert claims.

Harry, alongside wife Meghan Markle, stepped down from the royal family in 2020 and the couple have spoken out about their experience in The Firm. They made controversial comments in their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple’s 2022 Netflix docu-series and Harry’s 2023 autobiography, with them seemingly deepening the ongoing royal rift. However now it seems that Charles has had enough and asked his youngest son to ‘stop publicly complaining’ about the royal family, according to a royal expert..

Royal author and expert Tom Quinn exclusively told the Mirror: “Harry has been asked directly by his father not to write or say publicly anything further about the family or his brother that might cause trouble. And everyone knows that when a king asks you to do something there are going to be consequences if you do not obey.”

King Charles is said to have asked Prince Harry to ‘stop publicly complaining’

    Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex
Prince Harry is said to be waiting for an apology from his father and his brother Prince William
He continued: “Over the years that Harry has complained about his treatment by his family he has had just one aim – to get an apology and to see his father and brother make amends. Harry just can’t see that complaining in private might work; complaining publicly just makes things worse and in Harry’s case that means more and more ties to his past being severed.”

Harry’s relationship with his father and brother has appeared strained in recent years, appearing to start from 2020 when Harry and Meghan stepped back from the royal family and moved to the US. His previous comments have included allegations of racism in the royal family to revealing a physical fight between himself and William, with all comments thought to have angered the royal family and soured the tense relationship further.

This isn’t the first time the impact of Harry’s outspoken comments has been pointed out, as earlier this month royal commentator Jennie Bond highlighted the impact the family feud could be having on Harry’s children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Speaking to OK! magazine she said: “Children grow up and are innately curious about their heritage and background… and when your heritage is one of the most famous families in the world, it will undoubtedly seem rather odd and perhaps sad that you hardly know or remember them.”

She added: “Imagine Archie, aged 15, telling his friends, ‘My grandpa is/was King! And my Uncle is/will be King too.’ But he hardly knew or met them. How sad… and Meghan would have to bear the brunt of the responsibility for that.”

The Mirror has reached out to Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes for comment on this story.

The Princess of Wales apologised to the Irish Guards for missing missing a final rehearsal ahead of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour parade in London

The Princess of Wales has revealed in an optimistic message that she hopes to return to her public duties very soon.

The future queen, 42, who is having treatment for cancer, wrote to the Irish Guards apologising for missing today’s final rehearsal for next week’s Trooping the Colour. Kate, who is Colonel of the regiment, said: “I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon. Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved. “I’m very sorry that I’m unable to make this year’s Colonel’s Review.”

And Queen Camilla revealed today at a literary event that the King is “doing fine” but that he “won’t do what he’s told”. The future queen, 42, appealed for time, space and privacy for her family in March when she announced on TV she was having cancer treatment. Last month Prince William told a well-wisher: “She’s doing well.”

Today, Kate revealed her hopes for a public return “very soon”. And in a second boost Queen Camilla, 76, said King Charles, 75, who is being treated for cancer, is “doing fine except he won’t slow down and won’t do what he’s told”. Kate wrote a touching message to the Irish Guards Regiment apologising for missing a final rehearsal ahead of Saturday’s Trooping the Colour parade.

The Princess, who is the Guards’ Lieutenant Colonel, wrote: “I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon. Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved.” The note, read to troops in a video posted by the regiment on social media, said: “I wanted to write to you to let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour.

“I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practising for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate. I’m very sorry that I’m unable to make the salute at this year’s colonel review.” Her message was signed off with the phrase quis separabit – a Latin motto derived from the bible and associated with the British Army in Ireland meaning Who will separate us?.

The Regiment responded: “The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales this morning. We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well in her recovery and send Her our very best wishes. Kate was admitted to hospital on January 16 for major abdominal surgery. Post-operative tests confirmed the presence of cancer and she started chemotherapy in February. In March, the mum-of-three made an emotional televised statement confirming her diagnosis, saying it had been “an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family”. And to those also facing their own battle, she said: “Please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

Kate praised her husband Prince William, 41, for his love and support. And she said they had both told their children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine and Prince Louis, six, of her illness and she had assured them: “I am going to be OK.”

EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry ‘publishing a second book would end Duke’s relationship with the Royal Family’

Prince Harry is still reeling from the fall-out of his first book Spare. Now a royal expert has warned about the devastation that could be caused if he releases a sequel.

Prince Harry “publishing a second book would end Duke’s relationship with the Royal Family,” a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex fell out with his father King Charles and brother Prince William over the publication of his tell-all first book Spare. It came after the family were still fuming over Prince Harry’s bombshell Oprah interview.

With the rumour mills in overdrive there could be a second book to follow the Duke of Sussex’s bestseller, a royal expert has warned how catastrophic this could be. In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, Royal expert Tom Quinn said it would see an “end to Harry’s relationship” with his family.

The royal author said: “Publication of a new book with yet more revelations about fights and bullying would certainly put an end finally to Harry‘s relationship with his family, even though there isn’t much of that relationship left anyway.”

It’s no secret Prince Harry has reportedly been keen to patch things up. According to reports, Harry is open to working things out with his father, King Charles, and the rest of his family.

Fixing their relationship would also mean that his two children, Archie and Lilibet, would also be able to build a strong relationship with their cousins and grandparents. Reports speculate that Harry has realised there is “no Plan B” when it comes to his future and believes that mending fences is the way forward.

The reports come after the Duke of Sussex recently visited his father after Buckingham Palace announced that Charles had cancer. Harry travelled from California to London to see Charles, which is believed to be their first private conversation in 15 months. The pair’s relationship has been famously fraught since Harry stepped down as being a senior royal following his bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview and revealing autobiography, Spare.

A royal source told OK! magazine that the the Duke wants to “put an end to the feud” and “regrets the way that things have turned out.” The source also believes that Harry thinks patching things up with the Royal Family is the only option. They said: “I think there’s no plan B for Harry, patching things up with his family is the only option. It’s finally hit home how difficult it will be to repair the damage caused by the various swipes at his family over the years.”

EXCLUSIVE: King Charles ‘not content’ with Archie and Lilibet video calls and ‘wants to be present in lives’

The monarch, who has been having treatment for cancer since February, has told friends he is not content with only seeing them on video calls from their US home

The King has committed himself to building a relationship with Prince Harry ’s children and to be present in their lives, sources say.

The monarch, who has been having treatment for cancer since February, has told friends he is not content with only seeing them on video calls after meeting Archie, five, only a handful of times and two-year-old Lilibet once.

His decision to step up efforts to become more involved comes as it can be revealed he sent Lili a “heartfelt gift and card” on her birthday last week.

Sources close to the 75-year-old King, who was in Normandy last week for D-Day commemorations, say he is “keener than ever” to focus on his family and his duties and “make up for lost time” after being forced to scale back engagements after his diagnosis.

Prince Harry, 39, his wife Meghan, 42, and their children live in Montecito, California, after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit royal life in 2020. Relations with the Royal Family have become fractured after high-profile interviews, including one with Oprah in 2021, a Netflix show in 2022, and Harry’s explosive 2023 memoir, Spare.

Those who know the King best say he has been in a reflective mood and considers his close bond with his son William’s three children a blessing. He is a “fantastic and enthusiastic grandpa” to Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, five, sources say. His wife Camilla, 76, is also understood to be a driving force behind his decision to ramp up efforts to see his other grandchildren.

A source said: “The King is absolutely committed to being present in all of his grandchildren’s lives. He values family above everything and whatever the course of his relationship with his son he would never be content with just seeing his grandchildren on the odd video call.”

Harry scrambled back to the UK to visit his father following his diagnosis. Bit despite Harry flying more than 5,000 miles to be by his father’s side, the pair met for just 30 minutes. Days later, the Duke told US broadcaster ABC: “I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”

Ingrid Seward, author of My Mother and I – The Inside Story of the King and Our Late Queen, said: “Family has always been important to the King. He remembers his own somewhat fragmented childhood as his parents were always busy doing their duty. It is a great sadness to him he doesn’t see more of Archie and Lilibet.

“That is why he will never break ties with Harry. He does not want a FaceTime relationship with his son’s children. He wants to know them and be involved with their lives while they are still young enough to be able to learn from his wisdom. His cancer has made it all the more poignant to him as he knows that he won’t be around for ever.”

A friend of Harry insisted: “There has never been an issue with the King being in their lives and there never would be. The door’s always open.”

Last month, when Harry visited London to attend the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, the Duke was told his father’s diary was full and the pair did not meet.

Royal Family: Prince Harry ‘could make move that would end’ Royal relationship

Prince Harry could make one move that would finally “end” his relationship with the Royal Family entirely, it has been claimed.

Prince Harry could make one move that would “end” his relationship with the Royal Family for good, a royal expert has claimed.

There are rumours that the Duke of Sussex is working on a second book to follow up his first bombshell memoir, Spare. The book caused the prince to reportedly fall out with his father and brother over the contents.

But should this second book be released, revealing more of Prince Harry’s secrets, royal expert Tom Quinn has said it would put “an end to Harry’s relationship” with his family.

Speaking to The Mirror, the royal author said: “Publication of a new book with yet more revelations about fights and bullying would certainly put an end finally to Harry‘s relationship with his family, even though there isn’t much of that relationship left anyway.”

However, Prince Harry is reportedly keen to patch things up with the Firm, being open to working things out with his father, King Charles, and the rest of his family.

Reports speculate that Harry has realised there is “no Plan B” when it comes to his future and believes that mending fences is the way forward.

Prince Harry slammed as he ‘can’t believe’ he’s not in VIP category during security row

A royal expert has savaged Prince Harry, claiming he “can’t believe” he is no longer a VIP.

Prince Harry “can’t believe” he’s not in the VIP category that would afford him automatic state security as his legal row with the UK government rolls on, an expert claims.

News broke this week that the Prince has been given the green light to appeal a case he lost in the High Court against the Home Office, which downgraded his protection detail after he stepped back as a senior royal in 2020.

Royal author and commentator Angela Levin claimed one of the reasons he launched the appeal is he was “going away with Meghan for a tour, a world tour, which made my heart pump because this is going to be another copy of what the Royal Family is like and he wants to be covered.”

“Well it’s not on our tax, frankly,” she added.

The Prince wanted the appeal to be heard by the end of July, partly due to fears the ruling would influence how other countries approach his security, but this was denied.

Levin claimed the fact that British taxpayers would contribute to his protection is a “joke”.

The royal watcher noted that a judge previously concluded that the Prince was not in a comparable position to those in the “other VIP category” who are entitled to state security.

“So he was – sort of – put in his place,” Levin told GB News, “but I don’t think he can believe that.”

A representative for Prince Harry has been approached for comment.

The Duke first took legal action in February 2020 when the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) decided he should receive a different degree of protection than other members of the Royal Family.

In a judgement in February this year, High Court judge Peter Lane rejected Harry’s claims that the decision was unfair, ruling that the decision by the Home Office and Ravec would stand.

But now Harry has been told he can appeal the verdict at the Court of Appeal, according to an order from Lord Justice Bean dated May 23 2024.

In his ruling, Sir Peter had argued that the Prince’s lawyers had made “an inappropriate, formalist interpretation of the Ravec process” during the High Court case.

“The ‘bespoke’ process devised for the claimant in the decision of February 28 2020 was, and is, legally sound,” he added.

Sir Peter accepted the decision of Ravec’s former chairman Sir Richard Mottram, and argued that he would have reached the same conclusions back in 2020 even if he had been presented with the Prince’s argument then.

Security arrangements of the Royal Family are delegated by the Home Office to Ravec, who also handles security for other high-profile overseas guests.

Following the ruling earlier this year, a spokesperson for the Duke said he is “not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of Ravec’s own rules, ensuring that he receives the same consideration as others in accordance with Ravec’s own written policy.

“In February 2020, Ravec failed to apply its written policy to the Duke of Sussex and excluded him from a particular risk analysis.

“The Duke’s case is that the so-called ‘bespoke process’ that applies to him is no substitute for that risk analysis.

“The Duke of Sussex hopes he will obtain justice from the Court of Appeal, and makes no further comment while the case is ongoing.”

Prince Harry gets ‘very upsetting shock’ over Meghan Markle statement

His strongly-worded statement aimed at protecting his then girlfriend Meghan has been quietly deleted by the Royal Family.

Prince Harry has had a “very upsetting shock” after his strongly worded defence of wife Meghan Markle was quietly deleted by the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex issued the statement against the press in November 2016 as he raged at the media for “racial undertones” in regards to his then girlfriend Meghan. But in a surprising move Harry’s staunch defence has been removed from royal.co.uk after seven years.

Now, royal author Tom Quinn, claims the removal was a “very upsetting shock” for Harry.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: “The statement was a scathing attack on the press and King Charles knows that he needs to keep the press on the side and work with rather than against the media.

“For Harry removing the statement will be a real and very upsetting shock – he will see this as the Royal Family shutting him down, erasing an important part of the anti-media crusade Harry has waged for so long.”

Tom says Harry would have wanted the statement to remain on the Royal website “as a permanent reminder that Meghan and Harry are victims not aggressors.”

Harry’s statement was released by former Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf days after Harry’s relationship with Meghan was made public.

It came following an article in The Mail on Sunday which read: “Harry’s girl is (almost) straight outta Compton: Gang-scarred home of her mother revealed—so will he be dropping by for tea?”

The statement read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.

“Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.

“Some of it has been hidden from the public – the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Prince Harry “can’t believe” he’s not in the VIP category that would afford him automatic state security as his legal row with the UK government rolls on, an expert claims.

News broke this week that the Prince has been given the green light to appeal a case he lost in the High Court against the Home Office, which downgraded his protection detail after he stepped back as a senior royal in 2020.

Expert exposes late Queen’s six-word warning to Camilla on her wedding day

The late Queen Elizabeth II is said to have warned Camilla of one thing during her wedding day to the now-King Charles in 2005.

King Charles and Camilla marry at St George’s Chapel

The late Queen Elizabeth II reportedly warned the now-Queen Camilla about wearing a feathered headpiece to her wedding in 2005.

Queen Camilla tied the knot to the now-King Charles in Windsor in April 2005, a special occasion that made her his second wife.

The now-76-year-old was famously seen battling the wind as she emerged from their civil ceremony, which took place at Windsor Guildhall.

According to MailOnline, the late Queen expressed that she had warned her not to wear feathers to her son, Charles.

A lipreader for the publication said that she could be seen saying to Charles: “I did warn her, [about] wearing feathers.”

Fortunately her headpiece kept in place, with footage from the Windsor location showing the smiling couple leaving the venue.

As well as the late Queen’s warning, the King can also be seen saying to his wife, “Hold on tight”.

Camilla could then be seen replying to her husband, “I need you/too”.

At the time of their marriage in 2005, an official statement said it was “intended” that Camilla would have been known – at the time Charles ascended the throne – as HRH The Princess Consort rather than Queen.

This would have been a royal first for the title ‘Princess Consort’ and came about due to her previously not being favourable amongst royal fans.

The statement read: “Mrs Parker Bowles will use the title HRH the Duchess of Cornwall after marriage.

“It is intended that Mrs Parker Bowles should use the title the Princess Consort when the prince accedes to the throne.”

According to royal expert and author Robert Jobson, the word ‘intended’ was used to give royal fans some time to warm to her.

In his book Charles at 70: Thoughts, Hopes And Dreams, Mr Jobson wrote: “The critical word in this statement, of course, was ‘intended’. What Clarence House was doing was buying time – time for a hostile public to warm to Camilla.

“Prince Charles, however, has always intended her to become his queen consort.

“According to an inside source, he’d already decided that before their wedding.”
