Meghan Markle will NEVER return to Britain – she knows she is so unpopular, reveals expert

MEGHAN Markle may “never come back to the country”, according to the royal author.

Phil Dampier told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show that the Duchess of Sussex, 42, thinks she is “unpopular” in the UK.

The royal author said that Meghan and Harry have had the opportunity to bring their kids, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, over to the UK – but have declined to do so.

Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, Phil shared: “He had opportunity to recently, didn’t he, on his way to the Invictus Games event and Nigeria, Meghan didn’t want to know.”

During Prince Harry’s recent trip to the UK, he failed to meet up with dad King Charles and brother Prince William – and Meghan didn’t leave the airport.

Phil continued: “That’s twice now that she’s just stopped off at the airport at Heathrow, I think in the lounge there.

“She clearly thinks that she’s unpopular in this country.

“I don’t think she wants to come back to this country.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if she never came back to this country to be honest.

“And I think that’s where we are, it’s very, very sad.”

This follows the Duchess of Sussex’s popularity taking a significant hit with a recent poll unveiling she’s not that popular among Brits.

YouGov data found Kate to be the most popular royal with 76 per cent of people viewing her positively, which is an increase of six per cent since January.

Prince William is the second most popular royal with a 73 per cent approval rating, Princess Anne was third (71 per cent), with King Charles coming in fourth (63 per cent).

Prince Harry (31 per cent) and Meghan Markle (26 per cent) came below of the list, with only Prince Andrew (six per cent) below them in the table.

This follows the Sussexes being booed by crowds in 2022 at Westminster Abbey during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 and have since relocated to California.

Since leaving royal duties behind four years ago, the couple have made a number of accusations against the Royal Family in their Netflix docuseries.

Meanwhile, in Prince Harry’s bombshell Spare memoir, he made a number of claims, including how William allegedly branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row at his then residence on the grounds of Kensington Palace, Nottingham Cottage.

Harry and William haven’t been seen together in years after their rift.

Phil, who is the author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their own words, said Prince Harry may have some regrets about leaving behind royal life and his family.

He added: “There must be some moments in the middle of the night where Harry’s lying there thinking to himself, has this really been worth it?

“Is there something I could have done differently?”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter Lilibet is turning three today but has barely met her UK family, including her grandfather.

The royal expert said the birthday celebrations are tinged with an “underlying sadness” due to the “rift” that divides the family.

PRINCE Harry is reportedly not attending his son’s godfather’s wedding after ‘challenges’ over his attendance were exposed.

Estranged from his family, Harry is said to have spoken personally to Hugh about his and wife Meghan Markle’s invite to Chester Cathedral tomorrow.

The Duke of Sussex and Hugh made the decision to avoid the “inevitable clamour” between the now-US-based Prince, his brother William and dozens of mutual friends who aren’t on speaking terms with Harry.

A source close to the Sussexes told People magazine: “There was an acknowledgement on both sides that it would be difficult for Harry to attend.

“It was an understanding between the two friends.

“The decision certainly avoided the inevitable clamour had estranged brothers Prince William and Prince Harry both attended the nuptials, eliminating the possibility of the big day being overshadowed for the couple.”

Hugh, who “owns half of London” is expected to have Prince William as an usher at the “wedding of the year”.

The property mogul, who owns nearly 2,000 buildings all around the world, is the godfather to cousins Prince George, 10, and Archie, five.

Rumours were sparked that Hugh and wife-to-be Olivia had avoided inviting the Sussexes all together when plans got underway following their engagement last year.

According to the Sunday Times, the 7th Duke of Westminster didn’t want there to be any awkwardness for the Royal Family.

It comes hours after the couple were excluded from a royal event.

Harry and Meg have not received an invite to the Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15 this year.

It marks the second time the pair, who quit the UK in 2020, have been shunned from the occasion.

After making the transatlantic relocation four years ago, the couple have launched a barrage of vile attacks against the Firm.

With Meghan “never wanting to come back” to England, it was extremely unlikely the mum-of-two would have been a wedding guest if Harry had decided to come.

Princess Kate has been invited to attend the wedding with doting husband Wills but it is unclear whether she will go as she continues with preventative chemo.

William attended a D-Day anniversary event on Wednesday with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The Heir gave a moving speech thanking veterans and their families before giving a short and sweet update on Kate’s condition.

He told attendees she was feeling “better”, adding: “She would’ve loved to be here today.”

Meanwhile, the King was introduced to a 99-year-old paratrooper who turns 100 in August. Charles said: “I’ll have your card ready.”

Earlier in the day the Monarch made his first speech since his cancer diagnosis – in two health battles that shook the Firm.

He stood tall with medals on his chest and Camilla at his side, telling veterans and their families: “We are all eternally in their debt.”

He added: “The stories of courage, resilience and solidarity which you have heard today and throughout our lives cannot fail to move us, to inspire us and to remind us of what we owe to that great wartime generation, now tragically dwindling to so few.”

Charles said it was our privilege to hear the stories.

He added: “It is our duty to ensure that we and future generations do not forget their service and their sacrifice in replacing tyranny with freedom.”

Wills stood not far from some of the country’s last surviving veterans as they looked back on the campaign that opened the path to peace and freedom in Europe.

According to Royal commentator Tom Quinn, Prince Harry wants to find a home in the UK after being evicted from his royal residence Frogmore Cottage last year.

Harry has lived in California with wife Meghan since 2020 after they dramatically quit their jobs as working royals and moved across the pond, but it seems that things aren’t as rosy as the brother of Prince William had originally hoped.

Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK.

“Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.”

Not only this, but according to Tom, Harry is keen to find a permanent home in the UK.

The royal commentator added: “He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan.

    Tom Quinn

“Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he’s continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security.”

The Duke has spoken about his love of the UK before and in his memoir Spare, released last year, he talked about his eviction from Frogmore Cottage.

Harry penned: “Once upon a time, this was going to be my forever home. Instead, it had proved to be just another brief stop.”

The couple were allowed to keep Frogmore Cottage as their UK base for several years after they were given the house as a wedding present from the late Queen.

But things then changed in 2023 when King Charles evicted Harry and Meghan from the royal residence.

According to The Telegraph, Harry and Meghan viewed Frogmore Cottage as the “only place that’s left as a safe space” for them and their children in the UK.

But the couple had barely stayed at the property as they now live in a Californian mansion in Montecito with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.

Now’s the time to row back a bit and try and build some bridges

    Phil Dampier
Not only this, but as recently reported, according to royal author Phil Dampier, it’s time that the Sussexes “built some bridges” after criticising the royals.

Phil Dampier said on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show: “They’ve got new PR people and if they listen to their PR people – sometimes people don’t listen to their PR people – but if they listen to their PR people, I’m sure they’re telling them that right, you’ve made your point, you’ve had Spare, you’ve had Netflix, you’ve had the Oprah Winfrey interview, you’ve got it all off your chest.

“Now’s the time to row back a bit and try and build some bridges or at least create a life for yourself.”

Since leaving royal duties behind four years ago, the couple have made a number of accusations against the Royal Family, including in their Netflix docuseries.

Meanwhile, in Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare, he made a number of claims, including how William allegedly branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row at his then residence on the grounds of Kensington Palace, Nottingham Cottage.

Eamonn Holmes left ‘baffled and angry’ by Ruth Langsford’s decision to go public with split

Eamonn Holmes was reportedly left ‘baffled’ as his wife Ruth Langsford took the decision to go public with the news that their marriage was over earlier this month

The split announcement of Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes reportedly caught the latter off guard, leaving him “angry and baffled”.

Long-time TV favourites Eamonn and Ruth, both 64, had been together for more than two decades, kindling their romance in the late 90s before saying their vows in 2010. However, a spokesperson confirmed earlier this month that they have ended their marriage and are currently going through a divorce.

A source claimed to Mail that Eamonn, a star on GB News was stunned with the revelation: “Eamonn was left blindsided, it was awful for him. He literally found out about it a very short time before it was published you’re talking hours. It all seems a little bizarre given that the statement said they were hoping to keep it amicable.”

According to the insider, Eamonn “wanted no part of it”, continuing: “He couldn’t see any reason why you would release that statement. It was wholly written and signed off by Ruth and her team.”

Eamonn and Ruth, who share son Jack together, once hosted ITV’s famous This Morning show together. Known as one of the most stable duos in the entertainment sphere, they often revealed snippets of their shared life during various screen appearances, with Ruth regularly bringing up Eamonn while on the Loose Women panel.

Fans were therefore taken aback when the couple confirmed they were ending their relationship after 14 years of wedded bliss. The news elicited messages of disbelief from many, expressing their utter disappointment and devastation.Earlier this week, Eamonn Holmes opened up about his separation from Ruth Langsford while on air at GB News. Taking a moment during the show, he expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support: “I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation and your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” he acknowledged.

Katie Price has labelled Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes as her “favourite couple ever” as she shared her plans to reach out to the pair following their split

Katie Price has voiced her feelings for Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes in light of their recent separation.

Former glamour model Katie, 46, once branded them the former This Morning presenters as her “favourite couple ever.” Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she went on to explain her intentions of reaching out to both hosts.

“I really want to reach out to Ruth, and Eamonn, but I’m sure they’ve been getting so many messages that mine would be diluted.” Her affection for the pair didn’t end there, as after she revealed her love for both, her sister and co-podcast host Sophie chimed in: “I like them, they’re always so nice to you as well.”

Not holding back, Katie responded: “They are so genuine on and off [camera]. They are so funny off-camera. They’re normal down-to-earth, not up their a***, they’re just really nice genuine people that I would hang out with and have dinner with. They are so nice.”

The comments from Katie came after Eamonn, age 64, made his TV comeback on his GB News show, Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel. An hour into his starting show, he mentioned his marriage break up to viewers: “I’d like to thank people for their support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation. Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”

While Eamonn has made a comeback to work, Ruth has been noticeably missing from this week’s Loose Women episodes, opting to take a “step back” from the programme. She did, however, post a picture of herself at QVC, where she holds another presenting gig.

The beloved duo gained fame co-hosting ITV’s This Morning, with their romance sparking back in 1997 after being set up by a mutual friend. They exchanged vows in 2010 following a relationship spanning more than a decade detail Ruth once shared on Loose Women in 2016, noting they had been together a “long, long time” before deciding to tie the knot. Throughout their 27 years together, they welcomed their son Jack.

Eamonn is also dad to three grown-up children from his previous marriage. Rumours about their marital status have been swirling for some time, with eagle-eyed fans picking up on their reduced social media presence together.

In a joint statement released on Saturday, they confirmed the end of their marriage, saying: “[They] have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”

George Clooney worries that Meghan Markle is being ‘vilified’ like Princess Diana

The Hollywood star said the way the tabloids have treated Meghan Markle is reminiscent of Princess Diana, and “history is repeating itself.”

George Clooney sees an eerie and dangerous parallel in the way the tabloid media has treated his friend Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and the way it attacked the late Princess Diana.

The Hollywood star spoke out against what he believes is “irresponsible” treatment of the former Meghan Markle, whose relationship with her estranged father, Thomas Markle, has continued to play out in the press since she married Prince Harry last summer.

George Clooney says Meghan Markle is being harassed like DianaGeorge Clooney has come to the defense of his friend Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, saying the tabloid treatment of her is reminiscent of Princess Diana.

“I do want to say, they’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere,” he told Australia’s Who Magazine on Tuesday. “She’s been pursued and vilified.”

Clooney and his wife, Amal, attended Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in May.

George Clooney says Meghan Markle is being harassed like DianaAmal and George Clooney arrive at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle before the wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle on May 19, 2018 in Windsor, England.Getty Images

He sees the press treatment of the Duchess, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child, as reminiscent of the relentless coverage that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, faced before her death at 36 in 1997 in a car crash in Paris.

Diana was in a car that was speeding away from paparazzi at the time of the crash, which French authorities found was caused by the intoxication and reckless driving of driver Henri Paul.

“She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself,” Clooney said about Meghan. “We’ve seen how that ends.”

Clooney lashed out against the media back in 1997 after Princess Diana’s tragic death.

“Princess Di is dead, and who should we see about that? The driver of the car? The paparazzi? Or the magazines and papers who purchased these pictures and make bounty hunters out of photographers?” he said at the time. “If you weren’t hiding behind the profession of journalism, you would be an accomplice to a crime, and you would go to jail.”

Clooney is the latest to publicly defend Meghan against reports criticizing any little aspect of her public appearances or speculating about tension in the royal family due to her behavior. A group of friends spoke in her defense to People magazine last week, and fellow royal Tessy Antony, Princess of Luxembourg, has tweeted her support of Meghan.

Over this past weekend, Meghan’s father revealed a heart-breaking, hand-written letter to Britain’s Mail on Sunday that Meghan allegedly wrote him three months after the wedding. Thomas Markle did not attend the nuptials in the wake of a controversy over staged paparazzi photos, with Prince Charles instead stepping in to walk Meghan down the aisle in her father’s absence.

In the emotional letter, she begs him to “stop lying and creating so much pain” and says his actions have broken her heart into “a million pieces.”

Clooney took issue with the decision to publish the private letter.

“I can’t tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father,” he said. “She’s getting a raw deal there and I think it’s irresponsible and I’m surprised by that.”

The Loose Women stars have pleaded with Melania Trump to leave her husband, disgraced former President Donald, after he was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records

Loose Women’s Denise Welch has issued a plea to Donald Trump’s wife, Melania.

It comes after the disgraced former President was found guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records over a hush money payment to adult actress Stormy Daniels. Trump, who is hoping to run for the American office again, was found guilty last week following a five-week trial.

He is currently preparing for his sentencing taking place on July 11 where he can face up to four years behind bars. However, former The Apprentice star Donald, 77, is expected to appeal the decision after he became the first former President to be convicted after prosecutors claimed he tried to “corrupt” the 2016 election by hiding a $130,000 payment to his lawyer Michael Cohen to be passed to Stormy.

Following the Mirror’s exclusive chat with former adult entertainer Stormy, who urged Melanie to walk away from Donald and their marriage, the Loose Women have now spoken out. Denise, 66, said: “Yes,” when asked if Melanie should dump Trump.

“But I honestly think, as with the people who vote for him, he could literally do anything to anybody and those people loyal to him will still be there. I would imagine, she would have left him before. You just have to look at him and realise she would have left him.

“I honestly think that there is some kind of contractual agreement there because, listen, I’ve been in relationships where I know people have said ‘You should leave’, you have to find your own to leave. I just can’t imagine what it must be like to be married to someone who is under the spotlight for all of these deeds.”

But Denise’s subtle digs didn’t stop at Trump as she commented: “At the same time, you couldn’t pay me to be Jill Biden either, so it’s not just Donald Trump. No, I don’t think she will leave at this point, I don’t think she will leave until this presidential race is over, I think that if he wins, she will stay, if he loses, that’s a different topic. But I would imagine there’s a contract.”

Meanwhile, Brenda Edwards quipped: “I don’t think I’d be married to him in the first place.” She added: “She’s got beautiful eyes but she’s always got sunglasses on? What’s that hiding? Sorrow?” Denise added: “What is she getting out of this? Especially if she has to sleep with him!”

Speaking to the Mirror over the weekend, Stormy said: “I don’t know what their agreement may or may not be, but Melania needs to leave him. Not because of what he did with me or other women but because he is a convicted felon. It’s been proven he is abusive; he was found liable for sexual assault and tax fraud and is now a criminal. Loose Women ‘s Janet Street-Porter sparked a stir among ITV’s daytime viewers after a cheeky dig at co-star Denise Welch during Tuesday’s episode. The panel, which included Brenda Edwards and host Christine Lampard, were in the midst of a heated discussion on whether or not parents should bribe their kids for exam success when Janet couldn’t resist flaunting her 11 ‘O’ levels.

Denise, the former Corrie actress, shared her own school days tale: “When I was doing my ‘O’ Levels, my mum and dad could have offered me the world and I would have still climbed down the drainpipe to go and be with my boyfriend. I was awful as regards revising and studying and it just wasn’t for me.” After revealing she bagged five ‘O’ Levels, Janet quipped, “Is that all? ” leading Denise to reveal her exams took two goes because she had to resit Needlework, reports OK!

Despite Denise brushing off Janet’s jibe with good humour, fans watching at home didn’t take too kindly to Janet’s sharp banter with her colleague.

A viewer rallied around Denise stating: “I must say I was cross with JSP boasting about how many O’Levels she achieved and belittling Denise for achieving 5 O’ Levels and one being for needlework. How disgusting. Who does she think she is. I was impressed with Denise’s responses to the digs JSP made.”

Contributing her viewpoint, Janet started off by saying: “Like Denise, I was a compulsive cheater…” But Denise was quick to correct her, interjecting firmly with, “I wasn’t compulsive,” which invoked laughter from the audience, as the panellists moved on with their discussion sans further bickering.
