Kate’s full name is Catherine, but she notably spells the shortened version with a ‘K,’ not a ‘C’ like her first name has. Apparently, she was pressured into avoiding Cate with a “C” because many other royal family members have “C” first names.

She was once seen as a ‘commoner’, but it turns out that Kate Middleton is actually related to a former US President, and is a descendant of royalty.

Prince Harry made this revelation in his memoir Spare, which was released earlier this year.

“There were already two royal ciphers with a C and a crown above: Charles and Camilla. It would be too confusing to have another. Make it Katherine with a K, they suggested. I wondered now what came of that suggestion,” Harry writes in the memoir. “I turned to Willy, gave him a look that said ‘You listening to this?’ His face was blank.”

Kate married Prince William in 2010 and they now share three children. Their oldest son, George, is in line to be the King of England one day after his father. However, this is hardly the first time Kate has been accused of changing something about herself to fit royal standards.

For example, it was previously reported that Kate’s wedding day up-do was changed at the last-minute to accommodate the wishes of her royal in-laws.

“Royal sources tell me that the royals indicated very strongly to Kate that they would prefer her to wear her hair up for this very special occasion,” celebrity hair stylist Ashley Pearson claimed in the documentary William & Kate: The Journey . “However, Kate had her heart set on wearing her hair down with long flowing curls.”

Kate appeared to compromise, as she famously wore her hair half-pinned back, with her dark flows cascading down her back, though they were largely covered by her thick veil.

The Duchess hasn’t commented on the recent allegations that the royals tried to influence her name. Kate and William have been famously loyal to the family, in contrast to Harry and Meghan, who abdicated their royal duties in 2021 and relocated to California amid a strained relationship with the royal.

The royals are likely applying pressure to William and Kate’s kids, as who they marry in the future can have serious repercussions.

Harry And Meghan May Move Back To The U.K.

Even though Harry and Meghan have made a variety of accusations against his family over the years, one recent report claimed the couple were considering a move back to the U.K. as they were struggling to afford living in California.

The pair have seemingly had a hard time establishing careers in Hollywood. Though they scored big media deals with Netflix and Spotify, the latter canceled its podcast with Meghan, to the surprise of many fans. It’s been rumored that Netflix is considering a similar move.

While it’s unconfirmed if Meghan and Harry really are heading back to Britain, the Suits actress is reportedly a huge stressor for Prince William, so that likely wouldn’t bode well for his relationship with Kate Middleton.

The decision to turn down the performance was somewhat controversial, given that it wasn’t the first time Swift rejected a request from The Royals. Swift was also asked to appear on Meghan Markle’s former podcast, but ended up turning down the request. The publication continues, “Page Six, which was first to report the news, said Meghan attended with her friend Lucy Fraser. Although Prince Harry did not join his wife as he’s overseas, he’s been to SoFi Stadium since they located to Meghan’s home state in 2020 after stepping back from their royal roles. Making an appearance was clearly a big deal for Markle, and it really proved that there wasn’t any type of bad blood between the two sides. Given Swift’s ridiculous schedule, it could be that she just couldn’t make the commitment, especially in the midst of her Eras Tour.

 

Paul Burrell has defended Prince William following claims Prince Harry branded him a ‘snob’ after cautioned him not to rush into marrying Meghan Markle.

 

The 62-year-old, who was butler to the late Princess Diana, has insisted that the Duke of Cambridge, 38, is categorically ‘not a snob’ and that he would have simply been ‘showing concern’ for his brother, because marrying into the monarchy is ‘not easy for anyone’.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain today via video link from his Cheshire home, Paul said that William is ‘rational and calm’ where Harry, 35, is ‘fiery and hot’ and argued that William was only trying to ‘educate’ his brother before marrying Meghan, 38.

The claims, made in the book Finding Freedom, alledge that William told his brother to ‘take as much time as he needed’ to get to know ‘this girl’ Meghan ahead of marrying her.

William is not a snob,’ said Paul, ‘That is not true. He would only show concern for his brother marrying someone and bringing them into the royal family.

‘Trying to educate him, saying. “It’s not easy for anyone marrying into this family and I’m concerned about you”. And showing his concern. We’re talking about two very different personalities. William is rational and calm and Harry is fiery and hot.’

Burrell, 60, served as a footman for the Queen and later butler to Diana for 10 years until her death in 1997 and told that Meghan will have come up against the same ‘grey suits’ as the late Princess of Wales.

He went on: ‘Meghan soon found out she would come up against the grey suits.

As Diana found, they’re the people that run the other households in the royal families and you can’t come across those because those are the people that run the show.’

He added: ‘Meghan soon found out she had to please everyone, she wasn’t just marrying Harry. She was marrying a whole institution, a thousand years of royal history.’

He went on to predict that in the absence of Diana, the Duchess of Cambridge could be the person to ‘fill the void’ between Harry and William, and bring the pair back together.

 

‘Of course there is a void between them now’, told Paul, ‘That should be filled by their mother, but of course their mother is not here.

I would like to think maybe Kate will step into the void and bring those boys back together, they will come back together, they will be together they belong together and I hate to see them apart.’

The claims came in book Finding Freedom which provides an intimately detailed and personalised version of the events leading up to the Sussexes’ dramatic departure from royal life.

Co-authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have ‘all information in this book has at least two sources’. Harry and Meghan deny giving interviews.

Emily Andrews, The Mail on Sunday’s royal editor also appeared, and told that while the pair are both respected journalists, it’s likely Harry and Meghan granted some access to the authors ahead of the book.

She said: ‘Both authors are well respected royal journalist, particularly Carolyn, their pedigree is good.’

‘I think it’s obvious from the exerts we have seen so far, that the couple, Harry and Meghan, did help and and did grant some access.

Whether it was giving friends blessings to speak, because the book gives Harry and Meghan’s version of events for the first time.’

 

Meanwhile PR guru Nick Ede also appeared and agreed that Finding Freedo was coming from ‘the right people with the right messages’.

He told: ‘Harry and Meghan are known for suing everyone left right and centre, I know she knows Omid and that Omid had her ear.

‘These are revelations which are coming from the right people with the right messages, they feel like they had to get out

What this is is an open letter, especially from Meghan who has come from Hollywood, who is used to using her voice and likes hearing her voice, and she hasn’t been able to do that for two years.’

Fans have begged the BBC to give him his own gardening show and branded him a ‘human golden retriever’ after he gave an insight into life at home

On Saturday, David shared a video of him planting a Queen of Sweden rose shrub, as his wife Victoria, 50, gave him words of encouragement.

The star sportsman’s fans were quick to give him pointers on where he was going wrong, prompting him to share another video the next day planting a second rose shrub – and thanking supporters for their tips.

The videos wracked up over one million likes, as people hailed the star the ‘gardening influencer we never knew we needed’ and shared their desire for him to get his own TV show.

Taking to social media on Saturday, David shard his debut gardening post, with a collection of clips filmed by Victoria.

‘He does love a spot of gardening,’ Victoria could be heard saying.

‘Do you think that’s deep enough?’ David asked, before Victoria replied: ‘Looks it. I mean I’m not really the one to ask. Try it.’

In a second clip, David held up the plant and said: ‘Queen of Sweden, English shrub rose. Should it not be English rose shrub?’

The next video saw him struggling to get the plant out of the pot he had bought it in, with soil crumbling everywhere.

‘There we go, some action,’ Victoria said. ‘Oh it’s crumbling.’ David then patted down the soil around the plant before saying: ‘By the way, that’s impressive.’

‘It is impressive,’ Victoria replied. ‘Very impressive.’

The next day, David shared another video, this time filmed by himself, in response to those from the day before.

He said: ‘After my slightly amateur attempt at planting my shrubs yesterday, I took some advice of a few people that commented on my slightly amateur plating and trying to get my Queen of Sweden out the box. And guess what? They were right. Let’s see.

David then started banging the sides of the new plant pot before lifting out the rose shrub. ‘Who knew?’ he said to the camera. He then planted the rose shrub before patting it over with soil.

David added: ‘Who knew it was so easy to get the Queen of Sweden out the box?

‘Thank you everyone. Isn’t it always nice to be kind. Happy Sunday. At least I’ve got socks on, not barefoot.’

The actress, 42, was one of many famous faces to attend the monarch’s inaugural King’s Foundation ceremony.

She opted for a patterned purple dress to wear for the regal occasion and looked full of pride as she stood with royalty.

Amongst others, Sienna stood with rock legend Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster, as well as footballer David Beckham.

The model giggled as she looked on at the King engaging in joyful conversation with Rod while putting on a charming display in the lilac number.

For the special occasion, Sienna opted for a smooth complexion and slick of red lipstick.

She let her tousled blonde locks  hang neatly around her shoulders and styled the whole look out with a pair of nude heels.

Elsewhere at the occasion, Rod  proclaimed that footballing legend David, 49, will soon receive the same honour he did almost a decade ago. 

Speaking in a video posted to X, he said: ‘Penny and I are so honoured to be ambassadors for the King’s trust.

‘I’m also wonderfully honoured to be a knight. David, yours is coming soon’.

The former England captain is yet to join a finite list of his fellow sports stars to receive such an honour, including the likes of the late Sir Bobby Charlton and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

He was given an OBE in 2003 for his services to football.

David – who is married to Posh Spice Victoria Beckham – was in good spirits throughout the event, which was also attended by actress Sienna Miller.

The King’s Foundation Awards have been designed to celebrate students, teachers, alumni and partners of his foundation which provides educational courses, wellbeing programmes and spearheads regeneration projects across the UK, inspired by the monarch’s long-standing ethos of working with nature.

Beckham was recently announced as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation and met with His Majesty at Highgrove.

The King looked delighted to see him again and greeted him warmly. His Majesty referred to England’s recent 1-0 defeat to Iceland and the forthcoming Euros, chuckling: ‘It was very bad luck, I must say, David.’

Beckham replied: ‘No, no, I don’t think we should reward too much into that.’ ‘It doesn’t really matter, does it?’ His Majesty replied. ‘It was a warming up session.’

‘Warming up. We’ll be ok,’ the sportsman said. The King added: ‘Because you don’t want to expend it all in one go at the beginning.‘ ‘We’ll be ready,’ Beckham said.

Tonight’s awards, which are planned to be an annual event, saw nine awards given out, culminating in the monarch personally presenting The King Charles III Harmony Award, given to an individual to recognise their long-term commitment to the foundation’s mission.
