LADY COLIN CAMPBELL was speaking to GB News’ Dan Wootton when she unleashed a scathing rant aimed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reported anger at the news their children won’t be granted HRH status.

While King Charles III is expected to anoint Prince Archie, three, and Princess Lilibet, one, in the near future, it’s widely reported the Sussex children won’t be granted HRH status. According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “furious” at the decision, but it has sparked debate among royal commentators as to whether it is the right call given the Sussexes departure from leading figures in the Royal Family. In fact, Lady C told Dan Wootton that any pressure put on the new King to grant HRH status to the youngsters was “vulgar” and “tasteless”.

Referring to the reports, GB News’ Dan first made his stance on the issues clear, saying to Lady C: “I have to admit, Lady C, it’s very bizarre to me.

“I mean why on earth given the way they feel about the institution, given the way they seem to feel about Britain, why on earth would they want to give their children an HRH title and make them a prince and a princess?

“I mean, it just seems bizarre,” he added, prompting Lady C to reply: “But they are bizarre! They are opportunistic, it’s all about money and recognition and status and to make more money and get more attention.

“Let’s remember that there is a precedent for the grandchildren of a monarch to not have the use of prime and princess.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a remarkably different attitude to the Sussexes when they greeted the public at Windsor, a body language expert has noted.“Let us remember Lord Severn and Lady Louise Windsor, they are the grandchildren of Her Late Majesty. So there is absolutely no reason why the King should feel pressurised by the neo-puritanical American press and the neo-puritanical supporters of Harry and Meghan who are allowing themselves to be used to denigrate Anglo-Saxon culture not only here but in the United States of America.

“There are issues that are rather larger, political issues, than just the titles of the children,” she ranted.

Lady C continued: “But where Harry and Meghan are concerned, they want to have their cake and eat it at the same time and they would like everybody to be aware of the fact and throw it in everybody’s face ‘Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’.”

“The whole thing is tasteless, vulgar and just shows the total lack of appreciation of what being royal is all about.

“It’s not about making money and it’s not about capitalising, it’s about using their god-given position to serve the British people and the British Commonwealth – not to serve themselves and I think the whole thing stinks to high heavens.”

Weighing in with what she thinks King Charles should do in response to the reported uproar, Lady C went on: “Personally, I do not think that King Charles should allow those children to be called Prince or Princess anything!

“I think that the situation should be replicated as to what has happened with the Wessex children, that should be the beginning and the end of it.

 

“There is already a precedent. Harry and Meghan are not any more special and their children are no more special than the Earl and Countess of Wessex and their two children, I think that’s it in a nutshell.”

Lady C’s outrage comes after a source told The Sun: “Harry and Meghan were worried about the security issue and being prince and princess brings them the right to have certain levels of royal security.

“There have been a lot of talks over the past week. They have been insistent that Archie and Lilibet are prince and princess.

“But they have been left furious that Archie and Lilibet cannot take the title HRH. That is the agreement — they can be prince and princess but not HRH because they are not working royals.”

The retired football hero, 49, shut down growing speculation the Nineties girl group, which included his wife Victoria Beckham as Posh Spice, was planning to go on tour again after they reunited for a surprise song at the singer-turned fashion designer’s 50th birthday party in April.

He told Variety about the chances of them going back on the road together: “Unfortunately, that’s not happening.”

David added about the Spice Girls’ birthday singalong: “Victoria was so pleased to see the girls, and it was a massive part of her life, the girls, but obviously, all the girls have got their own things going on.

“They will do certain things together at certain times.”

David also stressed his wife’s schedule is packed, adding: “If anyone’s busier than me, it’s her.”

Victoria and her former bandmates Geri Halliwell, 51, Mel C, 50, Mel B, 49, and Emma Bunton, 48, were filmed by David at her 50th party in London singing their 1998 single ‘Stop’.

David added about the clip sparking fans’ hopes of a tour reunion: “I know it’s what people want, but in all honesty, I think I was the most excited of anyone.”

He said he was blown away seeing “all of the girls in one room” again, adding: “All of the girls haven’t been on a stage together for over 15 years. So, to have them all there, to have them all up on stage, to have our youngest son playing guitar?”

Mel B stoked hopes of a Spice Girls reunion when she posted David’s clip with the message: “#tourdatescomingsoon”.

She had also recently hinted at a potential reunion tour in honour of the group’s 30th anniversary.

After shooting to fame in the Nineties, the Spice Girls became one of the biggest-selling female pop groups of all time.

They disbanded in 2000, and the last time all five of them performed together was in 2012 at the London Olympics, with the group then touring without Victoria in 2019.

In Tom Bower’s upcoming book, The House of Beckham: Money, S– and Power, he claims a lot about the alleged reality of the Beckhems’ relationship. Amid the excerpts obtained by the Herald Sun, Bower claims that they allegedly told their publicists to feed bad stories to the media.

“Reflecting the acrimony between the Beckhams, the two publicists began to compete rather than collaborate to promote their own client,” Bower claims in his book. “Both fed negative stories about the other side to their favorite tabloid journalists.”

He added that this fight was as though it “was like a nuclear bomb had gone off” within their camps.

Despite allegedly later becoming a “distant business relationship” in the years after the alleged scandal, they did decide to band together for one reason. According to Bower, they’re sticking together for the “illusion of a happy family, [and] they stuck together to support the Brand.”

Um, yikes, that’s a lot to unpack, and now, fans are trying to put all the pieces together.

For those who don’t know, Victoria and David married in 1999 after getting together in 1997.

Since then, they’ve welcomed four children named Brooklyn, born in 1999, Romeo, born in 2002, Cruz, born in 2005, and Harper, born in 2011.

Manchester United announced they had accepted a £25million bid from Real Madrid for David Beckham on this day in 2003.

A United academy graduate, the England captain went on to make 394 appearances for the club, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the 1999 Champions League crown.

He helped United to the league title in 2003, but his future had been the subject of intense speculation amid reports of a rift with manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Initially it looked like Barcelona would be Beckham’s destination, with the player having been a key part of Joan Laporta’s successful campaign to become president of the Catalan club, but the midfielder instead opted for their rivals Real.

A statement from Manchester United confirming the move read: “Manchester United today reached agreement for the transfer of David Beckham to Real Madrid for a fee of 35million euros (approximately £25m).

“The deal is expected to be completed in July, conditional upon approval by the boards of Manchester United and Real Madrid, and on the provision of satisfactory payment guarantees.

Beckham spent four seasons at the Bernabeu, winning the 2006-07 LaLiga title, before going on to play for Los Angeles Galaxy, AC Milan and finishing his career at Paris St Germain.

He retired in 2013 at the age of 38 and is now the owner of Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE about his new travel guide for Trainline, the photographer and model, 25, chats about vacationing with his wife at the same spot where he and his famous family have vacationed for years, ever since he was a child.

“One of my favorite places is Napa Valley,” Brooklyn says of the Northern California wine country hotspot, noting that trips to the area form some of his “earliest memories.”

“I always used to go there with my mom and dad growing up,” the star adds, referring to his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. “It’s somewhere I take my wife now. It’s still my favorite place.”

According to Brooklyn, he and Nicola, 29, are “very similar” when it comes to their travel tastes — with one exception.

“She loves the heat. I’m more of a fan of the cold. So that’s the only thing, just trying to go somewhere where it’s not so hot and not so cold, so in the middle,” he explains.

Brooklyn also loves getting to take vacations with his family, which, along with his mother and father, also includes brothers Romeo 21, and Cruz, 19, plus sister Harper, 12.

“We try and do a few trips a year,” Brooklyn says. “But I’m always working, my mom and dad always work, and my brothers and sister are doing their thing. But whenever our schedules meet up and we don’t have that much work, we love to try and get away together.”

For Brooklyn, his favorite parts of traveling are “trying different cuisines and meeting people.”

His least favorite part is a univeral one: “I think the number one thing is maybe just the jet lag,” he adds.

While he’s been jetsetting since he was a kid, there’s still one destination at the top of his to-visit list: “I would love to go to India,” he shares.

“I just love the culture, love the food. Indian is one of my favorite foods,” he continues. “I’d love to go and just learn about the culture and try some food.”

Brooklyn’s love of travel is what prompted him to team up with Trainline to create the #TrainPicnic Through Europe guide, which has “insider tips on top European restaurants, hidden-gem food markets and must attend food festivals, all accessible by train,” according to a press release.

The guide also features four recipes crafted by Brooklyn that are based on snacks he likes to eat while traveling in the United Kingdon, France, Spain and Italy — a sausage roll, tarte au citron, tortilla and chicken parmigiana on focaccia.

“I’m honored that Trainline wanted to work with me,” Brooklyn tells PEOPLE. “We want to show and tell people how convenient taking the train is, [so they can see] some gorgeous scenery, meet some amazing people, have some great food and just have a good time.”

Trainline offers routes from over 270 rail and coach operators in 40 countries. The company allows tickets to be purchased using U.S. currency.

Meghan Markle ‘in the doghouse’ while Princess Kate shows bravery on world stage

A royal commentator has accused the Duchess of “spruiking products and not focusing on the Royal Family”, as The Princess of Wales made a brave return to public life.

Meghan Markle has “put herself in the doghouse” by promoting products as the Princess of Wales bravely returned to the world stage at this weekend’s Trooping the Colour, a royal commentator claims.

Nacho Figueras, a close friend of Prince Harry’s showed off gifts thought to be from the Duchess’ lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard on his Instagram story just hours before the highly anticipated royal event.

Figueras was among the 50 people chosen by the former Suits actress to receive a PR package of the brand’s jam after she soft launched it in March.

Asked on Sky News Australia whether the timing of the plug was intentional, journalist and Sussexes critic Louise Roberts said: “I would say this is intentional, but also a bit of a miss-hit because the timing was very, very poor.

“Instead of doing the classy thing and sending a very public message, particularly to Charles and Kate, given their cancer battle, ‘all the best for Trooping the Colour today, I hope it goes well,’ or something in the Meghan style.

“Instead one of Harry’s polo friends was putting up Instagram pictures of dog biscuits and raspberry jam. Now I don’t blame him [Harry] at all, clearly Meghan had a hand in this.

“But to take the spotlight away from her father-in-law and sister-in-law is really, really poor form I think.

“I don’t think anyone cares about jam or dog biscuits at a time when the whole world’s attention, in particular, is on Kate and her bravery on the world stage and being very stylish, unlike her sister-in-law who really has put herself in the doghouse by spruiking products and not focusing on the Royal Family.”

A representative for the Sussexes has been approached for comment.

The Princess of Wales made her first public appearance since December at Trooping the Colour on Saturday, following her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The day before she shared a deeply moving statement where she revealed she has “good days and bad days” undergoing gruelling chemotherapy for cancer but acknowledges she’s “not out of the woods yet”.

Kate, who bravely revealed her cancer diagnosis in March, explains the treatment can leave her feeling “weak and tired” on occasions.

But when she is well enough she can focus on the things that give her joy and reveals she has started “to do a little work from home”.

Meghan Trainor revealed on Monday’s episode of This Morning that she didn’t know who Brooklyn Beckham was when she first met him on a double date.

The pop star, 30, who is currently promoting her new album Timeless –  revealed Brooklyn, 25, set up the first date with her now husband, actor Daryl Sabara, 32.

Chatting to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, she explained she met her husband on a blind double date set up by Brooklyn and his now ex-girlfriend Chloe Grace.

She said: ‘I didn’t who he was, I had no idea because I’m lame.’

Ben replied shocked: ‘What?! His mum is a Spice Girl.’

She commented that she realised he must be famous because of all the attnention he was getting.

The All About That Bass singer also added that Brooklyn’s famous mum Victoria, 50, has since given her a shirt from her clothing line.

Brooklyn and Hollywood star Chloe, 27, firstly met at a SoulCycle class in Los Angeles in 2014.

They went through a first break-up but The Equalizer actress later shared the news that they had rekindled their romance in April 2016.

Meghan explained that two months later, Chloe set Meghan up with Daryl after she told her that she ‘really wanted to meet a good guy.’

The now husband and wife enjoyed a double bowling date with Chloe and Brooklyn who broke up in September 2016.

Since then, Meghan and Daryl have been going stronger than ever with the Spy Kids actor proposing in December 2017 and tied the knot a year later.

She said: ‘We are like the most in love couple, ever.’

They share son Riley, three, and Barry Bruce, who they welcomed in July last year.

During her lengthy chat on the daytime TV show, Meghan discussed many things including writing for famous faces, touring with her kids, and the meaning behind her album Timeless.

She said: ‘I have written some country songs, I have written for J-LO, Michael buble, john legend I did his Christmas song. I am trying to write for Rita Ora. Hi, I love you!,’ she quipped thrilled.

The songwriter fondly recalled her 2014 banger All About Bass is something ‘everyone is still dancing to’ these days and wants all her songs ‘to feel like that’.

‘There is a ballad called Timeless and it’s my love song to my babies,’ she told.

‘My little boy Riley would want to sit it after bath-time every night. He would say: ‘Can we sing timeless?”

As she prepares to take on her upcoming tour, she confirmed her children will be with her the whole time.

‘Riley will love it because he loves buses. My little Barry is going to learn how to walk while on tour,’ Meghan said proudly.

David Beckham’s Glastonbury jaunt didn’t exactly go to plan back in 2017, thanks to wife Victoria turning up on Worthy Farm.

The retired footballer, 49, and Posh Spice’s marriage is examined in Tom Bower’s upcoming book The House of Beckham, with a number of new details about their decades-long romance revealed.

While the couple opened up about being “against each other” in David’s Netflix series last year, the famous pair only touched on the battle to save their marriage in the early 00s when David was accused of having an affair with his former PA Rebecca Loos.

But in The House of Beckham, Bower claims the couple experienced further problems years later – with the parents-of-four even waging a war against each other in the media with rival PR managers.

Another low-point for the Beckhams mentioned in the book came about in 2017, when Victoria’s gate-crashed David’s fun at Glastonbury. David and a small group of pals, including his best friend Dave Gardner, had gone to the famous British festival without Victoria at first as she was arriving later from New York.

The night before Posh’s arrival the group – including married Lady Mary Charteris, as well as a “glamorous Australian bikini model” – had partied until 5am. The festivities resumed at lunchtime the next day “until interrupted by a telephone call” informing them that Victoria had arrived.

“There was no hassle and a great mood until she landed,’ complained one of the group,” Bower writes in The House of Beckham. “With her entourage she headed in a golf buggy through the scruffy campers to the VIP zone. She was furious that her husband had failed to reply to her telephone calls and had dispatched a search party. Eventually, David appeared. Within seconds, they were embroiled in a ferocious argument…. ‘They looked quite miserable,’ said one eyewitness, ‘but they managed to pose for the cameras’.”

Bower goes on write about David’s relationship with his long-time BFF Dave Gardner, someone Victoria apparently wasn’t too keen on being her husband’s drinking buddy.

He claims in the book: “Insiders knew about Victoria’s opinion of Dave Gardner and his racy lifestyle. ‘Dreggy,’ she called his party crowd. In 2003, she had been particularly unhappy about Beckham being best man at Gardner’s £2 million first wedding to the soap actress and socialite Davinia Taylor.

“His presence, she complained, increased the financial value of Gardner’s contract with OK! magazine. Two years after the wedding, Victoria was irritated by the publicity surrounding Gardner’s ‘crisis talks to save his marriage’. His wife had become notorious for lesbian affairs with her Primrose Hill neighbours and treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction at The Priory.

“Their separation and eventual divorce increased the time Gardner and Beckham spent together, especially after Beckham stopped playing professional football. Without the demands of a strict training routine, Gardner had helped fill the vacuum by introducing him to glittering parties.”

Dave and Davina divorced in 2010, with Dave citing Davinia’s ‘unreasonable behaviour’ as the grounds for the split. The sports and entertainment manager went on to date Lord of the Rings actress Liv Tyler, even becoming engaged to the Hollywood star at one point.

It was an allegation that almost tore the Beckhams apart and was at the heart of their recent Netflix documentary.

Rebecca Loos’ decision to go public with claims of an affair with David led to Victoria saying the aftermath was the “hardest period” for them both.‌

Now a new book by author Tom Bower reveals that Rebecca was motivated to go public with her affair after witnessing David’s treatment of a waitress. Bower explains how the seemingly innocuous incident was the catalyst behind the biggest test of the Beckham’s nearly 25-year marriage.

In The House of Beckham, the author writes: “The turning-point for Loos was realising Beckham’s double standards. After a meal for SFX employees at Madrid’s Hard Rock Cafe, Beckham did not leave a tip.

“The following day, the waitress gave Loos a note for Beckham. “Explaining that she survived on the tips, she expressed her anger that someone as famous and rich could be so mean. After reading the note, Beckham was alarmed. “‘Give her this,’ he said handing over a thick wodge of euros. Reflecting in February about how Beckham had played her and lied to her, Loos was angry. “

Loos, who was let go by Beckham’s agency SFX, later sold her story to the News of the World, alleging an affair with the footballer. According to Bower, The Beckham’s’ PR advisors quickly orchestrated a stage-managed show of togetherness on holiday in the Alpine ski resort of Courchevel to try and offset the damage to Brand Beckham..

“In a bravura performance the couple clung to each other – she with an iron grip on his hand. Then they performed a piggy-back and smiled,” Bower writes. But behind closed doors things soon turned ugly.

“Once the show was over they disappeared into their chalet….as everyone drifted off, one journalist looked through the Beckhams’ chalet window. Posh was slapping Beckham hard on his face. Beckham, famous for his ‘short fuse’, did not retaliate.”

Victoria delayed moving to Spain and her experience there was miserable. “Her life in Madrid was lonely and unhappy. Although she had everything money could buy she was isolated. With few friends, she was unwilling to learn Spanish. Her diet, rigorous exercise and chain-smoking reflected her anxieties.”

Their time in Madrid was also strained by Victoria’s relationship with rapper Damon Dash, who promised to relaunch her pop career. She would frequently spend time in New York with Dash to produce an album which never saw the light of day..

“Dash’s interference in the Beckhams’ married life disturbed David. At the end of a Real Madrid press conference in early November, Beckham burst out: ‘All this speculation about my wife not being happy, it can’t carry on – it’s all rubbish. She’s very happy here in Madrid. There are no problems in our marriage.’”

Fast-forward 14 years and the Beckhams were once again fending off rumours about their marriage. At the centre of increasing speculation they were on the rocks, Victoria and her publicist decided to do a high-profile interview and photoshoot with Vogue magazine.

“That would be an ideal platform to crush rumours of a split,” Bower writes. “The interview would be accompanied with photographs of the Happy Beckham Family. Beckham returned specially to London for the photoshoot….the entire Beckham family was to be photographed sitting as a harmonious group in a wooden rowing boat on a pond, which was to be shot as if it were a lake.”

“But soon there was tension over whether David would appear in the shoot, with the footballer’s publicist adamant that he would not take part. Not mentioned was Beckham’s new opinion that his children should not be exploited for the brand,” Bower claims. “Unspoken was his apparent fury with Victoria’s endless self-promotion campaigns.”

He added: “The wrangling was followed by an outburst between Beckham and Victoria. Beckham relented. The couple have had a lot of ups and downs in their marriage and have been rocked by reports of David’s rumoured affairs over the years. Cracks started to show in their relationship in 2016 and author Tom Bower has claimed things “deteriorated” two years later in his new book The House of Beckham.

Bower has claimed the couple turned against each other and had each of their publicists “feed negative stories” about the other. One story involved an “extraordinary exchange that occurred during the Beckhams’ summer holidays”.

During the incident, Bower alleges Victoria told her children: “Daddy’s not a cheat.” When David read the report, he’s believed to have been “raged that Victoria and her publicist were waging a media war against him.”

David addressed the rumours again in his and Victoria’s new Netflix documentary. He said: “There were some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with. It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

Victoria also admitted it was the “hardest period” for them as a couple. She explained: “It felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing; we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest.”
