Only recently, Joel Deering was revealed to be Lauren Bolton’s killer in a huge twist. Roy Cropper had initially been wrongly arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren. However, DS Lisa Swain and newcomer Kit thought they had cracked the case as they arrested abuser Nathan Curtis, who previously made Bethany Platt’s life a living misery and was recently released from prison. However, what they don’t realise is that the real culprit, Joel, is still at large.

And in a further twist, Joel has been blackmailed by Sabrina’s friend after he tried to target the youngster and it was revealed on Friday that the pal is in fact DS Swain’s daughter, Betsy. The youngster has been threatening to expose Joel’s creepy ways towards Sabrina and has also been contacting him over text, where he is saved as JD in her phone.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers are convinced that Joel’s texting will lead to his downfall due to there being evidence. One person said: “Wait until Betsy’s mother DS Swain see those messages from Joel. His life wont be worth living #Corrie”, a different account put: “Hope Betsy helps get Joel arrested and jailed for Lauren, and hope you have a great time on #Corrie xx” while another added: “Sabrina’s mate really is betsy!! will love it when joel finds out who she is… it’s sooo gonna make it even worse for him I can see it already. if he tries to hurt her betsy’s mum will be on the case! GOOD LUCK JOEL! you’re gonna need it! #corrie.”

It comes as newcomer Sydney Martin has teased whether Betsy will be the one to expose villain Joel on the ITV soap. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Sydney has teased whether this could happen, and revealed all on the drama ahead. On the Joel twist, she said: “I think she thinks about herself first and how she can gain from a situation, she looks out for Sabrina but it’s also what can she gain from it? She tries to fight for the power. Joel has a lot of power so it’s nice to see a 16-year-old girl come in and fight back a bit.

“It’s been so fun to play, it’s nice that there’s that power play and she fights to have it.” On what’s ahead she said: “We see her in the factory causing a bit of mischief. We get a real sense for her personality and then maybe she kind of meets people she shouldn’t meet, and others on the street. But we definitely will see her personality shine through.” Sydney also revealed whether Joel should watch out, and whether Betsy will investigate him DS Swain style. She said: “When it comes to her mum’s job she doesn’t like that way.

“When it comes to the law there’s a lot of disrespect that she’s got towards it. Initially she wants to look out for Sabrina, but also wants to use the knowledge she has to gain some kind of power. Eventually she might do something with it, but at the start she just wants money. She’s a kid and there’s a naivety there.”

His character and village legend Warren Fox is seen bloodied and in grave peril in a heart-wrenching final goodbye with on/off lover Mercedes McQueen. Pregnant Mercedes shares a final smooch with bad boy Warren, as she screams out in emotional turmoil as he leaves for good.

It might be the end of Warren too judging by the snaps exclusively obtained by The Mirror, with him covered in blood and holding a wound on his stomach. Mercedes is shown aiding him as he flees from somewhere, having been attacked.

It’s thought Warren will be stabbed, while it’s not clear by who. That said Warren has made plenty of enemies in the village, only recently being shot by one of them.

Warren looks in a bad way as he staggers through the edge of a woodland, before he apparently shoves a bag of cash to baby mama Mercedes who is left distraught. Mercedes sobs as the duo appear to share an emotional farewell, torn apart by Warren’s latest drama.

As they both weep, they share one last passionate kiss before he makes his exit as she tries to grab onto him. Actor Jamie is also seen in the back of a van while it’s not clear if this is part of the exit, or if the actor is just chilling between takes.

In the final moments from filming, pictures show a devastated Mercedes hugging him, before screaming out as she holds the bag of cash – and it appears he gets into a flashy red car. DON’T MISSIt follows a number of Hollyoaks favourites leaving the show, with some quitting their roles as others were axed amid the cast cull. Stephanie Waring, Ross Adams and Emma Rigby are some of the big names set to leave the show, while other departures have seen Owen Warner, Jamelia and Theo Graham all leave in recent months, as well as others.

It was reported earlier this year that due to cuts at Channel 4, a number of changes were on the way including less episodes per week, all at a shorter time. With the changes came the sad news that jobs would be cut, with cast and crew axed.

The soap has planned a dramatic time jump a year into the future to apparently explain some of the exits, after reports up to 20 characters would be leaving the village. It’s also been teased a massive stunt will air prior to the time jump, and before the new era of the show begins.

Jamie had confirmed earlier this year he was leaving the show again, prior to the cast news. Other exits are yet to be confirmed, with it also not known who will be staying with the series from September.

It has been teased further characters are at risk though, amid reports new character Martha Blake will be the next soap serial killer. Sherrie Hewson’s character will reportedly strike in the village in scenes later in the year, while details are yet to be confirmed.

Hollyoaks boss Hannah Cheers said of the changes earlier this year: “When we started talking about the move to three episodes a week, we realised we needed a mechanism through which to transition our stories and characters and we kept coming back to this one. It’s bold, daring and is a first for a UK soap; it sums Hollyoaks up perfectly.

“The new three episode pattern offers us a different model of storytelling, which means we’ll see characters on screen for much longer. Our viewers are really smart; in order to serve them well we need to kick off this new structure in a meaningful way.

“Fast-forwarding the show permanently by a year presents us with unlimited story possibilities. Very sadly, we are going to have to say goodbye to some much-loved Hollyoaks villagers – and some earlier than we would have expected to.

“It’s not kind to our characters or our audience to have a drawn-out stream of goodbyes on screen and a heightened stunt didn’t feel like the right approach. We also want the flexibility to see favourite characters again and we got really excited about how this would work.”

But as she ended the exchange with the Scottish National Party leader, Kaye made a shocking revelation – Labour candidate Sir Keir Starmer, who is hoping to take over No.10 after 14 years of Conservative leadership, had snubbed Loose Women.

“We did invite labour leader Sir Keir Starmer over for an interview as part of the series but he was not available”, Kaye informed, although the Labour leader agreed to appear on rival ITV show This Morning. Politicians have to make one last push before Brits take to the polls this Thursday, which left Rishi Sunak to head to the This Morning set this Wednesday morning. The Prime Minister was confronted by Ben Shephard over his latest scandals but his response left viewers at home fuming.

Harry will be honoured with the Pat Tillman Award for Service for his Invictus Games work at the glittering ESPY Awards in Los Angeles on July 11.

The ESPY Awards (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) is run by the sports TV network ESPN and the Pat Tillman Award has previously been given to unsung heroes.

But Tillman’s mother Mary said she was “shocked” why the award would be given to such a “controversial and divisive individual”, the Daily Mail reported.

She said: “There are recipients that are far more fitting. There are individuals working in the veteran community that are doing tremendous things to assist veterans.

“These individuals do not have the money, resources, connections or privilege that Prince Harry has. I feel that those types of individuals should be recognised.”

A petition has also been launched to try and prevent ESPN from awarding the prince, who is a veteran himself, with the award.

One signatory said: “Pat Tillman sacrificed his life for duty and country! Harry walked away from duty and country & spit on his commander in chief, country, duty & family on his way out.

“All for a Hollywood dream! I’m appalled as an American that you would give him this award. It now means nothing!”

While another wrote: “There are others far more deserving. This is a slap in the face.”

For the last ten years the Pat Tillman Award for Service has been “given to a person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger, Pat Tillman,” according to ESPN.

Harry was offered the award “in honour of his tireless work in making a positive impact for the veteran community

ESPN said the Invictus Games has “transcended borders and impacted lives across every continent”. the power of sport.”

The duke founded the Invictus Games a decade ago to support injured and sick servicemen and women – both on active duty and veterans.

It comes despite Harry courting controversy by boasting of killing 25 Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.

He wrote in his memoir Spare that he’d taken “chess pieces off the board”, sparking ex-colonel Tim Collins to respond it was “not how you behave in the army”.

Retired military officer Colonel Richard Kemp says the award is just “celebrities massaging each other’s egos”.

What happened to Pat Tillman?

ESPN recounted Tillman’s tragic death in 2014 as the 10th anniversary approached.

Tillman was a safety with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals for four seasons before joining the Army.

He enlisted eight months after 3,000 people were killed in the September 11 terror attacks.

Tillman, a California native, turned down a contract offer of $3.6 million when he joined the military.

“The events leading up to one of the most infamous friendly-fire deaths in US military history were rife for second-guessing from the start,” reported ESPN.

“After an Army Humvee broke down in the mountains, Tillman’s platoon was divided by superiors so that the Humvee could be removed; a local truck driver was hired as the hauler.

“But the two groups struggled to communicate with each other as they traversed the steep terrain. And the second group soon became caught in a deafening ambush, receiving fire as it manoeuvred down a narrow, rocky canyon trail.”

A squad leader would misidentify an allied Afghan soldier positioned next to Tillman as the enemy, according to ESPN.

Soldiers would fire upon what Army Ranger Steven Elliott called “shadowy images,” ESPN reported.

“I can think of many people who did pretty extraordinary things while serving in the British and American armed forces which would be much more deserving of an award like this.

“It is obviously because of who he is – not what he did. An Apache is crewed by two people – a pilot and a gunner. Harry was a gunner. He was number two in the aircraft.

“There have been some incredible aeronautical exports from helicopter pilots in Afghanistan, Iraq and other war zones.

“There are some extraordinary stories – many covered by The Sun – involving enormous flying skill and bravery.

Speaking to New Idea magazine, the expert claimed: “He is desperate to see his them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be.” A source also told the publication that the King is “feeling a little better” months after his cancer diagnosis, meaning there could be a “showdown” to end tensions among the family.

They claimed: “This feud has gone on for far too long, and Charles is anxious to sort it out – but he knows it has to be on Harry and Meghan’s home turf, particularly if he wants to see his grandchildren.” The publication claimed Harry would be “open” to welcoming his father to Montecito, however, Queen Camilla and Prince William are said to be more hesitant about the potential visit.

It comes after royal expert Jennie Bond said the King would love the change to get to know his grandchildren. She told OK! magazine: “Having grandchildren is a powerful tug on the heartstrings. Little people who are part of your bloodline and have had nothing to do with family quarrels and tensions. So I can imagine that the King very much wants the chance to get to know Archie and Lilibet and to create some memories for them.”

The expert also suggested Archie and Lilibet may be the key to ending the royal feud. She said the youngsters might convince Charles and Harry to “forgive, if not forget, the bitter rows of the past.” Jennie added: “I fervently hope that Harry will not follow Meghan’s example of remaining obdurately estranged from her father and most of her family.”
