Prince Harry has revealed the moment when he was left ‘heartbroken’ and ‘horrified’ after a seven-page newspaper article accused him of having issues with substance abuse

Prince Harry revealed a difficult family moment when he claimed “lies” were printed about him that made his brother Prince William “even angrier” than he was.

The Duke of Sussex wrote about the heart-wrenching moment when his brother stood by him during a difficult time that left him struggling emotionally and seeking support from his elder sibling. He recounted how a seven-page newspaper article accusing him of substance abuse issues had left him shattered.

In his memoir titled ‘Spare’, Harry detailed the incident from January 2002 when he was splashed across the front page under the headline ‘Harry’s Drugs Shame’. He vehemently labelled the article as “lies”, stating that it not only portrayed him as a habitual drug user but also falsely claimed that he had recently been to rehab. He wrote that it “not only had me down as a habitual drug user, it had me recently going to rehab. Rehab!”

Harry claimed an editor “had got her mitts on some photos of Marko and me paying a visit to a suburban rehab centre, months earlier,” and he painted the visit as being “a typical part of my princely charitable work,” which the journalist had used and “repurposed the photos, made them visual aids for her libellous fiction.”

However, the journalist had misused these images to support her fabricated story, Harry claims. The distressed Prince recalled his reaction as he “gazed” at the photos and read the story “in shock”. He said: “I felt sickened, horrified, I imagined everyone, all my countrymen and countrywomen, reading these things, believing them.”

Harry revealed that he felt as though the entire Commonwealth was gossiping about him, a thought that left him deeply unsettled. He also suggested that his father, Charles, and future stepmother, Camilla, may have played a role in spreading these rumours, leaving him “heartbroken at the idea that this had been partly the work of my own family, my own father and future stepmother.”

He pondered over their possible involvement, questioning if they had “abetted this nonsense. For what? To make their own lives a bit easier? ” Harry then shared how he reached out to his brother William, who was unable to speak due to his own shock. Harry said he “phoned Willy, I couldn’t speak. He couldn’t either. He was sympathetic, and more.” Harry elaborated on the conversation further as he added: “At moments he was even angrier about the whole thing than I was, because he was privy to more details about the spin doctor and the backroom dealings that had led to this public sacrifice of the Spare.”

However, Harry confessed that William downplayed his distress, telling him that nothing could alter the past. He quoted William saying: “And yet, in the same breath, he assured me that there was nothing to be done. This was Pa. This was Camilla. This was royal life.”

The brothers’ relationship has since deteriorated, with reports suggesting they haven’t spoken for months.

Meghan Markle branded ‘cheap, vulgar and irresponsible’ by outspoken Lady Colin Campbell, who says ‘she was never an A-lister so needs to stop acting like one’

LADY Colin Campbell has branded Meghan Markle “cheap and vulgar” in an explosive new interview.

The author, 69, who has published three books on the royals, has also urged the Duchess of Sussex to stop acting like a celebrity.

Speaking to Closer magazine she said: “She was never an A-lister, so she needs to stop acting like one.

“Royalty do not behave like celebrities do. It’s cheap, vulgar and irresponsible.”

The royal writer went on to say that Meghan was “letting down” those who admire her by behaving this way.

This is not the first time that Lady Colin has warned the Duchess of Sussex of being wary of her behaviour.

In April she advised that Meghan should avoid becoming a “political activist” as the “royals must represent all of the people” and she should know when “keep her mouth shut”.

Lady Colin added: “There are many conservative people, all over the world, many religious people, who do not have these ‘woke’ and ‘right-on’ views.”

It comes as Meghan was revealed as guest-editor of British Vogue’s September issue.

The project saw the Duchess of Sussex select 15 women to be featured on the cover, choosing not to star herself, whom she hails “forces for change.”

The magazine has sparked a storm of protest, with critics reminding Meghan that royals must remain neutral at all times.

Meghan has since been criticsed for the “leftie” cover by Leo McKinstry who, similarly to Lady Colin, warns Meghan must stay out of politics like Kate.

Brexit Party MEP Ann Widdecombe said: “Royals have not only got to keep out of politics but they have got to be seen to keep out of politics.”

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, said: “The Duchess of Sussex has done a huge favour for the House of Conde Naste (Vogue’s publisher) and rather less for the House of Windsor.”

Lady Colin Campbell’s scathing remarks about Meghan Markle continue to make headlines, with the royal author not holding back in her criticism. According to Campbell, Meghan’s behavior is not fitting for a member of the royal family, as she is often seen embracing a more celebrity-like lifestyle.Campbell emphasized that Meghan was never an A-lister and should refrain from acting like one. In her opinion, such behavior is deemed as cheap, vulgar, and irresponsible. The royal writer believes that Meghan needs to understand the distinction between being a royal and a celebrity, and should act accordingly. This is not the first time Lady Colin Campbell has expressed her concerns about Meghan’s actions. She previously advised Meghan to steer clear of political activism and reminded her that royals are meant to represent all people, regardless of their views. Campbell believes that Meghan’s recent involvement in selecting the cover stars for British Vogue’s September issue has sparked controversy, with many criticizing the Duchess for being too political.Critics have highlighted the importance for royals to remain neutral and avoid getting involved in political matters. The backlash Meghan received for the Vogue cover has raised questions about her understanding of royal protocols. Some have even suggested that Meghan’s actions have not only benefited the magazine but have also cast a shadow on the reputation of the royal family. As the debate around Meghan’s choices continues, the Queen’s gesture of gifting Meghan and Harry a holiday home has also made waves in the royal news circuit. It seems like Meghan’s actions, both within and outside the royal family, are closely scrutinized and debated by experts and commentators alike. Only time will tell how Meghan navigates these criticisms and expectations as a member of the royal family.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie Wessex, was amongst the royal family members attending the Trooping the Colour celebrations on June 15.

In celebration of his father’s official birthday, Prince William sported uniform as he and his relatives watched the RAF flypast from the balcony. Sophie could also be seen, rocking a bright, yellow ensemble.

It was here that she put on a touching display and supported Prince William in a sweet moment that has stunned royal fans.

Despite the BBC cameras missing the warm moment, an eagle-eyed fan account shared the moment that Sophie showed her support for Prince William with an affectionate gesture.

In a short clip, Sophie could be seen placing her hand on Prince William’s back as they returned into the palace. The fan account wrote to social media: “The sweet moment The Duchess of Edinburgh touches Prince William’s back when they were exiting the balcony.

“It’s really lovely to see aunt Sophie’s tenderness with the Waleses.”

Social media users were also impressed, with one writing online: “This kind of natural body language shows the family is very close. Loved the moment a couple years ago when William introduced Sophie and said ‘this is my aunt’.”

Another gushed: “He must have said something touching to her. It meant a lot. She is letting him know.”

A third chimed in: “Omg Sophie darling you couldn’t have gone any higher in my estimation but this is adorable and so warm and loving! This man has had a lot to endure and carried the burden like yourself going about the country attending events. Sophie is amazing.”

A fourth agreed: “I get the feeling that they are very close friends in addition to being family. And that’s lovely.”

A fifth said: “I honestly feel like that was her ‘you guys did it!’ moment. It warmed my heart!! Love super Sophie and all she does. She’s doing an EXCELLENT job as the Duchess of Edinburgh.”

The duo’s closeness is no secret. Previously, they have even made a joint appearance together, whilst attending the premiere of the documentary, Rhino Man, which was helmed by the Prince’s taskforce, United for Wildlife.

Sophie has also shared equally close moments with the Princess of Wales. The two duchesses have been spotted multiple times chatting and laughing together. Sophie has even been reported as Kate’s “best friend” in the royal family.

Royal correspondent for Hello!, Danielle Stacey, has also highlighted their closeness saying: “It’s no surprise that the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinburgh have such a close relationship.

“No doubt Sophie has been a huge support to Kate over the years. Especially, when Kate first joined the royal family in 2011.

“The royal ladies have similar interests and passions, including their love of sport and fashion. They also share common causes within their royal work, with both Kate and Sophie championing the work of children and young people’s charities.”

This wasn’t the only adorable moment during the monarch’s official birthday celebrations. In fact, a lip reader reportedly spotted a sweet exchange between Kate and Prince Louis.

The Princess of Wales and her three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six,– joined Prince William on the Buckingham Palace balcony after watching a military parade.

Meghan Markle Blames Disorganized Hollywood for Calling Her ‘Hysterical’ and ‘Crazy’ — She Guarantees Her Latest Podcast Will Expose It

Meghan Markle has taken Hollywood to task, condemning the industry’s tendency to label women as “hysterical” and “crazy.” In her latest podcast episode of “Archetypes,” the Duchess of Sussex addressed how these stereotypes perpetuate harmful views of women.

In the episode titled “Decoding of Crazy,” Meghan began by asking listeners, “Raise your hand if you’ve ever been called crazy or hysterical, or what about nuts? Insane out of your mind, completely irrational?” She pointed out that these labels are alarmingly common in our culture.

Meghan specifically criticized two popular TV shows. She played a clip from “How I Met Your Mother,” where Neil Patrick Harris’s character says, “If she’s this crazy, she has to be this hot.” She also highlighted a quote from Jordan Peterson: “I don’t think that men can control crazy women.” Additionally, she cited a scene from “Scrubs” where Sarah Chalke’s character declares, “I cannot hide the crazy a minute longer!”

The Duchess explained how such lines are detrimental, stating, “Calling someone crazy or hysterical completely dismisses their experience and minimizes what they’re feeling. It can lead to people being gaslit into thinking they’re actually unwell, ignoring real issues.”

Meghan emphasized the severe impact of these labels, saying, “The word ‘crazy’ is thrown around so casually and the damage – it’s rotten for society and women, frankly everywhere. From relationships to families being shattered, reputations destroyed, and careers ruined.”

She reflected on her personal experiences, noting the intense scrutiny and harsh headlines she faced, which even led to thoughts of suicide, as revealed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey. This interview further strained her and Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have kept their kids out of the public eye and, in true Sussex fashion, have strayed from the royal protocols that they or their children would have to follow if they stayed in the monarchy. However, it seems that they will abide by one royal rule for their children, specifically when it comes to their children, Prince

Per the Mirror, the pair are reportedly considering highly prestigious schools in Montecito for their kids, ranging in private schools that are around $40,000 to $60,000 per year. It’s typical for royals to be sent to boarding school, or private institutions. So, unlike many things, they’re following tradition, and are being slammed for it by royal commentators. (Truly, the Sussexes
    can’t win).

Royal commentator Lee Cohen said, via Mirror, that it was ridiculous for the pair to send their kids to an insanely expensive school, despite their fight for equality, which makes no sense. “Their supposed commitment to progressive causes is nothing but a façade. If they’re willing to indulge in this epitome of elitism, there is no advocating for equality. Yet they’re willing to pay staggering tens of thousands per year for their children’s education,” he said.

He added, “One of Meghan’s difficulties when she was a working royal living in the UK was her lack of experience of dealing with staff so in Montecito she has kept paid staff to an absolute minimum, but if she’s avoiding the Royal tradition of paying people to do the childcare, she’s certainly sticking to the Royal tradition of sending children to elite schools…. Apart from anything else, Harry wouldn’t countenance risking his children being educated in anything other than in an elite environment.

Choosing an elite school is very much in the royal family tradition.” So, they want the best for their children, and have the means to do so. They’re following a coveted royal tradition, and yet people have a problem with it. There are many reasons why Meghan and Harry may want to send their kids to this school, despite tradition. For one thing, their children’s safety has always been a priority, so keeping them in a private school could ease some stress on that.

(Especially since all eyes have been on the kids for years). Now, is this legit? Yes, apparently, the two are already making steps for their children. Richard Mineards from the Montecito Journal claimed via the same outlet that Harry and Meghan were already looking at schools.

He said: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are eyeing entering their two children, Archie and Lilibet, at a local private school, I can exclusively reveal. The Riven Rock twosome were spotted inspecting an institution’s campus last week, bringing them one-step closer to a decision.”

The Princess of Wales attended Trooping The Colour in London wearing a stunning white and black dress and matching hat for her first public appearance of 2024.

Kate’s been out of the public eye for the last six months following abdominal surgery in January, and her subsequent cancer diagnosis.

Despite a difficult few months, the Princess looked well and in good spirits:

She courageously shared her health news with the public back in March, announcing her decision to stay out of the spotlight as she began a course of “preventative chemotherapy.”

After three months away, the Princess uploaded a statement uploaded to social media on Friday. Giving an update about her health, Kate announced that she’d attend Trooping the Colour. She also confirmed that she’s “making good progress” but that she is “not out of the woods yet”, and that she’s still receiving treatment.

Kate added that she’s experiencing “good days and bad days” and that she plans to “join a few public engagements” over the summer if she continues to feel well.

Trooping the Colour, also known as The King’s Birthday Parade, is an annual military ceremony celebrating the official birthday of the British Sovereign.

This year’s parade involved 242 military working horses, 250 military musicians, 40 pipers and drummers, an extremely large dog, and more than a thousand dual-role soldiers of the British Army’s Household Division. (Below, the Irish Guards’ regimental Irish Wolfhound mascot Turlough Mor.)

The Wales children looked smart in their coordinating outfits, matching their mother’s monochrome ensemble. This is the third time the children have accompanied their mother at the parade to date.

This year, Kate rode in the Glass Coach.

Kate, Louis and Charlotte at Trooping the colour

The Glass Coach is one of the primary ceremonial carriages of the British royal family. Created in 1881, it was purchased by The Crown for the coronation of King George V in 1911.

    The Glass Coach

The Glass Coach makes appearances at various state events each year but is most famously known for its role in royal weddings. It transported Princess Margaret to her wedding in 1960 and Lady Diana Spencer in 1981. It also carried Princess Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh after their wedding in 1947.

This is the first time in 12 years that Kate has processed in the Glass Coach — I expect it was a decision made for her comfort, to shelter her from the cold and rain given her diagnosis. I believe Queen Elizabeth II rode in the coach during 2012’s Trooping the Colour for similar reasons.

The weather was particularly unseasonable this year. It was a very wet and windy day:

During some moments of the parade, the glass windows became misty with condensation. The princes and princesses attempted to clean the windows with their hands so they could still wave to the gathered crowds:

Louis looks out of the window of the Glass Coach as it mists up

William didn’t join his immediate family in the carriage. As is tradition, the keen and experienced horseman took part in the procession on horseback. This year, he saddled a horse named Darby.

In his role as honorary Colonel of the Welsh Guards, the Prince wore the regiment’s distinctive red uniform and traditional bearskin cap.

He rode alongside his uncle, Prince Edward and aunt, Princess Anne.

King Charles usually rides in the parade on horseback too. This year, he decided to travel by carriage, following his own cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The procession arrived at Horse Guard’s Parade where the traditional ceremony took place:

Once the Sovereign has arrived at Horse Guard’s Parade in Whitehall, they are greeted by a Royal salute and carry out an inspection of the troops, who are fully trained and operational soldiers wearing the ceremonial uniform of red tunics and bearskin hats.

After the military bands have performed, the escorted Regimental Colour, or flag, is processed down the ranks of soldiers. Over one hundred words of command are used by the Officer in Command of the Parade to direct the several hundred soldiers.

Once the Foot Guards have marched past the Sovereign, they ride back to Buckingham Palace at the head of the soldiers, before taking the salute again at the Palace from a dais.

This year, the Irish Guards ‘trooped their colour’ (or carried their flag) through the ranks.

The practice dates back to the 17th century when the colours served as rallying points on the battlefield. The honour to ‘Troop the Colour’ rotates through the five regiments of Foot Guards.

Last year, the Princess had a seat outside on the dais (pictured below). I expect she watched from inside this year due to the awful weather and her health condition.

After the ceremony, the Royal Family made their way inside Buckingham Palace, to the famous balcony.

Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards has said she ‘loves’ working on the ITV show, but has denied a feud between her fellow co-stars

Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards has dismissed rumours of a feud among the show’s stars. The 55-year-old joined the popular ITV show as a panellist in 2019, initially stepping in for regular presenter Linda Robson.

By 2020, Brenda became a full-time member and maintains that she still ‘loves it’. Despite hints of discord among the presenters, with ex-host Carol McGiffin once stating she “wasn’t welcomed” and “doesn’t miss” the show, Brenda insists there’s no bad blood.

In a chat with Woman’s Own, she clarified: “I get on with everybody – I’m not involved in anything. Everyone says we don’t get on, but we do. I get on with everybody and I just keep myself to myself and enjoy the show.”

Brenda expressed her gratitude to Loose Women for providing her a platform. The programme has seen her discuss serious topics, including the tragic death of her son Jamal, the founder of SB.TV, reports the Express.

However, the lively debates on the show have also fuelled speculation about potential feuds among the celebrities. Coleen Nolan is one of those who have previously ignited such rumours, alleging that people “behind the scenes weren’t being nice”. Speaking to OK! Magazine, Coleen confessed she “fell out of love with it for a bit”.

Coleen opened up to the press about her experience on the show, revealing: “It was because certain people behind the scenes weren’t being nice and I wasn’t enjoying it. Then those people went onto other things and great people came in, and I’ve loved it ever since.”

“I have always loved watching loved ones cook and I truly love serving up a hearty plate of food for my family and friends. So I’m thrilled to be able to embrace this with ITV and the audience at home… I can’t wait to get started.”

This Tuesday, June 18, the Loose Women panel wondered if the media coverage dedicated to the White House tenant was ageist, thus characterised by prejudice towards his advanced age.

Joe Biden has recently sparked worries over his ability to govern a whole country as he has been spotted during major events freezing and wandering off alone, leaving others around him to remind him of his engagements.

But when the discussion began, Kaye Adams noted she was surprised that Denise Welch, notoriously outspoken, had remained silent. “I can’t believe that you kept quiet all this time”, Kaye said before Denise offered a hand gesture indicating that it was only a matter of time until she shared her thoughts.

Minutes later, however, the former Coronation Street actress broke her silence – and caused yet another commotion on live TV and on social media.

Denise initially opted for a calm approach as she reminded co-stars and viewers of the existence of AI, before adding: “At the age of 81, we see enough images of Biden to know that the man is struggling.”

She then pointed out that the backlash targeting Joe Biden increased and worsened when he settled into his presidential role. Prior to this, the criticism targeting Joe Biden was deemed “cruel”, according to Denise.

When Kaye reminded her of the evidence possibly indicating that Joe Biden may not be fit for his role, Denise lost her patience: “Since Covid I believe nothing anybody says in the government or anything! I don’t believe a word of it.”

She added: “However, there is somebody that I know that was at a conference with Joe Biden at the White House. There are absolutely massive errors being made in the way that he is functioning. We know that he’s probably a puppet.”

Denise then reminded viewers what American citizens and Joe Biden are up against: “It’s the biggest power in the world and we’ve got the choice between a criminally convicted felon, candidate Donald Trump, and we have an 81-year-old man clearly showing signs of not being well. Is there not any other people in American that can run the country?”

Multiple viewers reacted to Denise’s comments with one penning on X: “I don’t think we see enough of Joe Biden to make an informed decision. We all know the media heavily manipulates what we do see, however I’m not sure someone of 81, who has shown he has some problems, is capable of making the decisions Biden needs to make.”

Another suggested: “They should let Let Kamala stand for President”, while a third wrote: “I wonder if maybe President Biden has Alzheimer’s or dementia but fears that it being made public would be damaging to his reputation. If he has either of those conditions, ppl should be more understanding than fearful/judgemental.”

On Monday, June 17, the White House criticised the Republican party for relaying videos meant to show Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline, claiming the images had been manipulated.

“It tells you everything that we need to know about how desperate Republicans are here”, said Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, branding the videos “cheap fakes.”

If there’s one wardrobe staple Loose Women’s Linda Robson loves, it’s a midi dress. One of her latest outfits comes from a celeb-loved fashion brand and is perfect for the summer months.

The 66-year-old hit the ITV talk show panel last week on June 13 wearing a Denim Blue Smock Rochelle Midi Dress from Nobody’s Child. It’s the ultimate throw-on-and-go piece that requires minimal effort for maximum impact, and has a ‘big bonus’ according to shoppers.

Priced at £75, the easy-dressing number is cut in a stylish smock shape with a tiered hem that falls to a midi length. With a height of 5’4”, Linda and her stylists are well aware that their calf-length hemlines flatter her petite frame, and this dress is no different.

While Linda’s dark indigo version is selling fast, it’s also available in a ‘sunshine-infused light blue wash’ with mid-length puff sleeves – another of the Loose Women star’s signature silhouettes. The oversized fit is perfect for anyone who is a little self conscious of their tum, disguising the waist without being shapeless. And fashion fans will no doubt be excited that it has pockets.

The dress, which is also sold at John Lewis, has received a number of five star reviews from shoppers, one of which said: “Bought this with a Personal Shopper – she was wearing it and gave me the confidence to try it too. It hangs really well and has generous side pockets (big bonus). Bit long for me (I’m 5’2″) but with a bit of a modification it’s fantastic. Will be wearing it on holiday in a couple months of weeks.”

Another added: “Nice soft fabric in beautiful colour. Perfect for spring/summer season.” While a third penned: “What a lovely feel and fitting dress. Can’t wait to wear it just need some Spring like weather soon.”

However, one person said it was ‘way too long’, commenting: “This dress is gorgeous and great quality- I like the structure and style. However- it was way too long on me- it was maxi length (I’m 5ft7) and would have needed to be altered to take a few inches off – so sadly I sent it back.”

We think this dress is perfect for styling with sandals and a straw bag this summer, but equally, sport some trainers so you can look chic on your errand runs.

Another high street midi dress Linda wore recently is the Black Floral Puff Sleeve Shift Midi Dress, from River Island. The £50 dress boasts a large patterned floral print with on trend puff sleeves, perfect for showing off her tan after coming back from a holiday.

Some of our favourites in recent weeks include this Bella Pink Textured Midi Dress from Phase Eight, and this Cos Oversized Grandad-Collar Shirt Dress. But if you’re heading on holiday or fancy a new outfit for your summer plans, you can buy her £75 Nobody’s Child dress here.
