Royal Expert Slams Meghan Markle Over ‘Rotten Time in the UK’ Comment

Recently, Meghan Markle’s comments about her “rotten time” in the UK stirred quite a bit of controversy. Royal expert Michael Cole was quick to push back against Meghan’s statements. He argued that Meghan was initially welcomed with open arms and celebrated as a breath of fresh air in the royal family. According to Cole, the couple had a positive reception back in 2017, and their wedding was met with a warm public response.

On the other hand, Newsweek’s Bataa Unar Sargon painted a different picture. Sargon suggested that Americans now view Harry and Meghan as a type of celebrity known more for their wealth and privilege than for any particular talent. Despite plans for new projects in 2024, many haven’t materialized yet. The couple’s brief visit to Nigeria in May, while notable, was largely overshadowed by their royal connections, which played a significant role in their fame and wealth.

Sargon also criticized Meghan for not appreciating her royal privileges. He pointed out that before meeting Harry, Meghan was relatively unknown, and her transition into royal life came with substantial public support and financial backing. The grandeur of their wedding, funded by taxpayers, seemed to contrast sharply with Meghan’s claims of dissatisfaction.

Critics argue that Meghan’s complaints about her time in the UK seem misplaced given the lavish lifestyle she enjoyed. From a multi-million dollar wedding to expensive jewelry and a taxpayer-funded residence, Meghan’s experience was far from a “rotten time,” according to her critics. They also questioned why, after receiving so much, Meghan is now critical of the royal family and their role in her life.

Some speculate that Meghan and Harry’s departure from the UK and their subsequent media ventures may have fueled their dissatisfaction. Despite lucrative contracts with Netflix and Spotify, these projects haven’t fully lived up to their potential. Critics argue that the couple’s public complaints and controversial content may be a way to stay relevant and maintain media attention.

In addition to their media ventures, Meghan’s criticism seems to overshadow the benefits she received while part of the royal family. Critics argue that Meghan’s ongoing complaints and criticisms of the royals, combined with her lucrative opportunities since leaving the UK, suggest a sense of entitlement and a lack of gratitude.

Meanwhile, Lopez is enjoying an Italian vacation — seemingly all to herself.

The singer, 54, was spotted on a boat with friends in Positano, also on Wednesday, rocking a yellow bandeau top beneath an open button-down, which she paired with matching shorts.

Though Lopez gave her “hero,” Affleck, a shout-out in honor of Father’s Day this past weekend, the couple are reportedly selling the $60 million Beverly Hills mansion they bought just last May.

“Jenny has had enough, and she really tried, but she can do no more,” an insider told the Daily Mail earlier this week, claiming that the pair’s marriage is “not getting any better; it’s worse.”

The songstress is now apparently “trying to make the best” of her time by focusing on her twins, Max and Emme, 16, and her career goals for 2025.

Part of those plans reportedly include reviving her recently canceled “This Is Me… Live” tour.

“She is excited about going on tour next year when her personal life is on calmer ground and she can connect with her fans,” the insider shared. “She will take her tribe with her and make the most of it.”

Another informant close to the actress admitted that the director “can be grumpy and a downer” but made sure to note he’s “a wonderful father.”

Last week, a source told “Entertainment Tonight” that the duo have “been living separate lives” but are “not officially separated yet.”

“At this point, they are just doing their own thing,” the source explained. “They went into their relationship very optimistic and thought things could change, but they haven’t.”

Affleck reportedly began staying in a home in Brentwood in mid-May, and Lopez has apparently been “touring houses and shopping around for her own home.”

“Ben is sad about it all but focused on his work, being a great dad and co-parenting well with Jennifer Garner,” the source said.

Prince Harry reveals he was not William’s best man and says it was a ‘bare-faced lie’

Prince Harry told how he was forced to go along with the “bare-faced lie” that he was his brother William ’s best man, insisting: “Willy didn’t want me giving a best man’s speech”.

Revealing how his bitter rift with the heir to the throne hardened more than a decade ago, the Duke of Sussex said he was made to act out the role in order to spare interest into the lives of William’s two closest friends. Harry was officially classed as William’s best man at his wedding to Kate in 2011 and even travelled with the future King to Westminster Abbey in a Bentley.

But in an astonishing declaration he claimed it was all for show and his brother’s close friends James Meade and Thomas Van Straubenzee actually gave the traditional speech at the reception. Instead, Harry was demoted to act as a mere compere and introduce them. The revelation poses questions as to devastating length and breakdown to their once inseparable bond, described in searing and brutal detail in his new explosive memoir.

Released this week by mistake ahead of its official global launch next Tuesday, booksellers in Spain gave the world its first glimpse at ‘Spare’. A reference to the phrase “heir and a spare” uttered by his father King Charles to his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, when he was born, it has already become a global bestseller and sent shockwaves around the royal family.

Harry’s brutal takedowns of members of his family including his father, “wicked stepmother” Camilla and sister-in-law Kate and once beloved brother William have sent shockwaves through the royal family. The Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace households have refused to engage in a “tit-for-tat” battle of words with Harry with one insider claiming the royals were “beyond weary” of the Duke’s attacks.

In further petty claims Harry told how Prince William was tipsy on rum hours before his wedding to Kate in 2011. The Duke says his older brother went down to greet people camping out on the Mall by Buckingham Palace, ahead of the ceremony while intoxicated, having been drinking to calm his nerves.

Harry said to him: “You smell of alcohol” and offered him some mint sweets as he lowered the windows of the car, describing the smell of “the aftermath of last night’s rum” on his “tipsy” brother’s breath. Bitter and acrimonious allegations spill from the 557 pages seen in full for the first time on Thursday as The Mirror got hold of a copy from a bookshop in southern Spain.

Their squabbling included his own wedding; seven years later, when the brothers rowed over whether Harry should get married with a beard. “At one point he actually ordered me, as the Heir speaking to the Spare, to shave,” he wrote – even though the late Queen had given his facial hair the seal of royal approval. Emphasising the competitive nature of their relationship, Harry adds: “He hated the idea of me enjoying a perk that he’d been denied”.

In the same chapter, Harry reveals his wife Meghan and the Princess of Wales were at loggerheads from the “early days”, laying the blame on a misunderstanding over Kate thinking Meghan wanted her “fashion contacts” when in fact she had her own. Harry claims William and Kate confessed that they were huge fans of Suits, the legal drama in which Meghan played paralegal Rachel Zane, with William exclaiming “f*** off!” when he revealed he was dating Meghan.

In another extract of the book Harry recalls an “awkward moment” between his wife, Meghan Markle, and his sister-in-law, Kate. The uncomfortable encounter allegedly went down before the Sussexes’ and the Waleses’ Royal Foundation Forum appearance in 2018, when Harry’s new wife asked to borrow Kate’s lip gloss when she forgot hers.

Harry said: “Kate, taken aback, went into her handbag and reluctantly pulled out a small tube,” Harry wrote. “Meg squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips. Kate grimaced.” Harry goes further to lay into his brother and Kate, suggesting that staff took sides in the run-up to Megxit. “Team Cambridges versus Team Sussex.

Rivalry, jealousy, competing agendas – it all poisoned the atmosphere,” he writes. In one of the more bizarre of Harry’s claims, he tells how he believed that Princess Diana had faked her death to escape the press. The Duke of Sussex was just 12 when his mother died in a tragic car crash in a Paris tunnel. In “Spare,” he admits that he has spent the subsequent decades trying to find out what really happened on that fateful night.

Following the tragedy the young princes were at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, staying with their grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, Harry told: “With nothing to do but roam the castle and talk to myself, a suspicion took hold, which then became a firm belief. This was all a trick.”

Detailing the further breakdown of his relationship with his brother, Harry claims William was constantly “jealous” of him for being allowed certain privileges over him, such as growing a beard at his wedding and setting up the successful Invictus Games sporting event around the world for injured service personnel.

“He appeared supremely irritated,” the former military pilot writes in his book, out Jan. 10, claiming that William complained it would drain funds from their foundation. Harry, 38, called his sibling’s issue “absurd” and explained that the financing would come from the Endeavor Fund, a branch he “created specifically for the rehabilitation of veterans,” as well as donors. Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace both declined to comment on any of the allegations.

Kaye Adams says she was sexually harassed by ex boss but was left too scared to report

Loose Women’s Kaye Adams and Coleen Nolan share their experiences of workplace sexual harassment – but some viewers were not impressed with the advice they gave

Loose Women stars Kaye Adams and Coleen Nolan have opened up sexual harassment they faced from men in their early careers on today’s episode of Loose Women.

Coleen shared it was a “terrible time” for women when she was part of girl band The Nolans with her sisters at the height of their fame in the ’70s and ’80s. “You did get guys coming up and pinching your bum,” she revealed. Explaining how she dealt with it, the 58-year-old said: “I’d just turn around and go, ‘If you do that again, I’ll going to knock your head off mate!‘ I didn’t have to run somewhere and say, I want him fired.”

Kaye then detailed her experience when she was working as a young journalist, but said she dealt with unwanted advances slightly differently. She told the audience in the ITV studio: “There were a few occasions where older men did very much overstep the mark… and at 22 I just did not have the confidence at that point to turn around and say take a hike. They were my boss and I was scared that I would lose my job.”

Viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their own experiences with one saying: “I got loads of harassment at aged 18 in my first job. It would be nice to think that things have got better since those days #loosewomen.” Another said: “#loosewomen I was in a job in my 20s and one of the girls said the boss is a bit touchy feely so don’t be alone with him… as though this is normal and no one actually mentioned or took it further!”

But others were not impressed with Coleen’s comments that a man shouldn’t lose his job over certain workplace behaviours, with some branding her advice “dangerous” and “disappointing”. One viewer fumed: “Couldn’t find the controls to turn off Loose Women so I had to listen to Coleen Nolan telling us how men shouldn’t lose their jobs for slapping girls arses @loosewomen.”

Another chimed in: “Coleen claiming that it is extreme for someone to lose their job because of sexual assault/intimidation in the workplace is the reason it still happens. Very disappointing and dangerous attitude @ITV.”

While a third said: “@loosewomen what a shame you missed the opportunity to talk abut consent!! Can’t believe you turned it into the ‘we’ll all be scared to hug anyone’ crap. Internal misogyny is strong.”

The discussion arose from the Loose Women talking about employers offering mandatory consent classes in the wake of the Spanish FA World Cup kiss row, which saw a football chief kiss a female player on the lips without her consent. Wading into the debate, new Loose Women’s guest panellist Olivia Attwood said it wasn’t something that should be brought into the workplace and said: “Surely people should know [how to behave]. It’s a no brainer.

“The minute that footballer said, ‘I don’t feel comfortable, I don’t like it’. He should have issued an apology and the conversation ends there. Why is there even a debate with him saying, ‘I didn’t mean to cause offence’. But you did, so apologise or step down.”

Former Love Island star turned documentary maker Olivia made her Loose Women debut earlier this month and is already proving a hit with viewers. One wrote: “I really enjoyed Olivia on Loose Women today. You came over great.” Another said: “It was refreshing not hearing you swear. Still love you though.”

Loose Women panellist Denise Welch looked almost unrecognisable on Thursday’s show as she stunned her co-stars with her “stylish” new look.

The presenter, 65, opted for a burgundy shirt which featured a pink, coral and orange pattern design on it. Denise teamed her look with a pair of new oversized pink glasses, which she first debuted earlier this week, and added a slick of bright lipstick.

Opening Thursday’s episode, host Kaye Adams remarked: “Denise, you’re looking so stylish! You look like someone from Berlin or something like that!” to which Denise, who furiously slammed allegations that Loose Women is a “cut-throat show” earlier this week, explained: “Well, I got very mixed reviews on my specs but I quite like them. They’re my varifocals!”

Varifocal lenses allow wearers to see at any distance as they have different sections on the lenses for viewing up close and in the distance. It means people can wear one pair of glasses for their day-to-day life such as driving, shopping or reading.

Denise first debuted the glasses earlier this week on Loose Women and also shared a snap to Instagram of the eyewear. However, despite Denise claiming she has had “mixed reviews” for her glasses, the majority of comments on social media were positive for the eyewear.

After posting a snap with co-star Frankie Bridge, who is starring in London’s 2:22 A Ghost Story, Denise penned: “Honestly. Soooo proud of my friend (and pretend daughter) @frankiebridge. She’s starring in @222aghoststory and she’s fantastic in it!!! Natural, confident and real it’s a lovely performance and the start of an acting career for sure . Great night with my main man @asksteve2cu_.”

Denise’s 409K followers were quick to react to the glasses, one person said: “Loving the glasses can you share where they are from x”, a different account put: “I love your glasses babe where they from you look amazing!! And you frankie of course lol xx”, another follower wrote: “Ok, but u r killing it in those glasses!!! Always so beautiful” while a different fan added: “Love the glasses.”

Earlier this month, Denise sent fans wild once again as she joined forces with Carol McGiffin to pose for “Only Nans”. The pair enjoyed a getaway to France with their respective other halves and they wasted no time in trying to catch a tan. Denise even joked that the pair had joined a racy adult content site as she teased fans that they should be prepared to subscribe to her page.

Captioning her post, Denise penned: “A momentary lapse in concentration whilst shooting our ‘Only Nans’ content chez @the_mcgiff!!!! Get ready to subscribe,” alongside several laughing emojis.

Loose Women fans cry ‘make it stop’ as they cringe over Cliff Richard interview

Sir Cliff Richard made an appearance on Loose Women, where he chatted with the ITV show’s panellists including his good friend Gloria Hunniford

Sir Cliff Richard left fans ‘cringing’ as they tuned in to watch his Loose Women appearance.

The music legend joined the likes of Brenda Edwards, Kaye Adams and Frankie Bridge on the ITV show, as well as good friend and Loose Women panellist Gloria Hunniford. He was there to chat about his long career, and fans watched on from the studio and at home as talk soon turned to his friendship with none other than the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

However, fans were left cringing when he started doing an impersonation of Elvis for the viewers. Standing up, he made his way to the front of the desk and started dancing, leaving viewers cringing.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their feelings about his appearance, as one wrote: “I don’t watch this rubbish anymore but my mum told me how cringe he was. I don’t know what’s worse when he tried to dance or when he said his lips have gone thin,” as a second added: “We’ve heard all those Cliff stories thousands of times!!!#LooseWomen.”

A third shared: “This is so painful i am loving it! #loosewomen,” with a fourth writing: “I will never understand women swooning over Cliff not now or back in the day, and that’s allowing for all of us having different taste. I genuinely don’t get it. #LooseWomen.” A fifth penned on social media: “Cliff Richard is insufferable. Get him off. #LooseWomen.”

However, some took to social media to share their excitement at seeing Cliff back on their TVs. One wrote: “Gloria and Sir Cliff’s friendship is absolutely fantastic. Plus, you can see it’s not just for the TV screens, but it’s a true and long life friendship.” A second added: “Cliff looks fantastic for his age. What is his secret? #LooseWomen,” whilst others praised his singing voice and said it was good to see his successful career continuing years after it began.

Cliff and Gloria’s friendship goes way back, with the pair having met decades ago. Speaking about how their friendship started, she said: “When the Troubles were in Northern Ireland… no entertainer would come. Cliff was the first one that came and there was a huge buzz about it and it was a gospel concert. I had joined the BBC, given the job, and I went in naively and said, ‘Oh Cliff Richard’s in town, he’d be good for the programme’. And they went, ‘We’ve tried every which way to get him and he’s not doing anything.’

“But I knew the vicar of that church. See, I rarely take no for an answer so I rang him up and said, ‘If you finish quite early at the church, would you give me a call?’ And I got the call and Cliff agreed to do it so I went down!”

  • EXCLUSIVE: Loose Women star Sophie Morgan weighs in on show feud rumours amid ‘cut-throat’ claims

EXCLUSIVE: Loose Women star Sophie Morgan weighs in on show feud rumours amid ‘cut-throat’ claims

Loose Women panellist Sophie Morgan has weighed in on show feud rumours after claims of a ‘cut-throat’ atmosphere on the daytime ITV show

Sophie Morgan has weighed in on Loose Women feud rumours as the show was hit with “cut-throat” claims.

The TV presenter, 38, shared her own experiences working on the ITV daytime show after claims it is a far from pleasant programme to work on. Talent agent Melanie Blake claimed Loose Women was a “cut-throat place to work and not This Morning.” Sophie’s co-star Denise Welch recently slammed the claims in a heated social media post.

The former Coronation Street star admitted she “adores” her fellow panellists and would never work for a programme which she deemed to be toxic. Paralympic presenter Sophie has also defended the ITV show, as she told The Mirror: “Honest to god, I love the Loose Women. They are the greatest bunch of supporters and champions and they’re funny. I love them, I love them all.

    Sophie Morgan

“They are just great, powerhouse women with humour and just lovely. I have so much respect and time for them and the people who work behind the camera. The whole family there – I love it. It’s one of the things I look forward to coming back to.” Sophie joined the Loose Women panel in 2021 and makes regular appearances on the show.

Since launching her Rights On Flights campain after sharing her own travel nightmares, Sophie said she has received a lot of support from her ITV colleagues particularly Charlene White. “They always give me time to talk about the issue, which is so generous and kind so I am very very lucky,” she added.

The “cut-throat” claims come after Melanie, who managed some of the biggest television stars previously said: “Considering I represented over 15 women on that show, I am only friends with Saira Khan. But I am in such a positive career space right now, it’s just not a period of time I want to relive. But I can confirm in my experience, it’s that show that’s a cut-throat place to work and not This Morning.”

This infuriated Denise, 65, who has appeared on the show in various roles since 2000 as she took to X, formerly known as Twitter, saying: “So disappointing that a female agent @MelanieBlakeUK constantly uses her position to tear down other women. It’s such a cliché that women can’t work together without being b*****s. I adore my @loosewomen colleagues otherwise I wouldn’t work there.”

She later added: “Melanie writes that Loose Women was and is a toxic place to work. I’m sorry Melanie but it isn’t. I love it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t work there. If she only speaks to one of the women she used to represent then that says more about her than them.” Responding to Denise, Melanie said that her comments referred specifically to the “era” she worked on theITVdaytime programme.

Speaking previously, Melanie told Notebook: “Put a load of ambitious women together with a small amount of seats to fill and inevitably there is always going to be tension. Showbiz isn’t all diamonds and rosé. Despite the party line of the Loose Women having been the best of friends from day one, it’s simply that, a party line.”

Last month, Kaye Adams said: “I do get fed up that almost always we will be asked whether we b***h about each other. I’m just waiting for Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker to be asked the same question because they just never are. When we are asked about feuds, we think it is funny. It is certainly not a viper’s nest. The one thing that I can guarantee when I go to the Loose Women, regardless of the line-up of women, regardless of the topics, at some point in that day, I will have a real belly laugh.”

King Charles Grants Anne an Extraordinary Role, Excludes Prince Harry and Prince Andrew from New Monarchy

According to reliable sources, King Charles has made a decision that will completely transform the dynamics within the monarchy. In light of…

According to reliable sources, King Charles has made a decision that will completely transform the dynamics within the monarchy. In light of the Andrew scandal and Harry’s continued disloyalty, the hardworking Princess Anne, Charles’ younger sister, is finally receiving the recognition and responsibilities that her exemplary service truly deserves.

At the age of 72, Princess Anne’s work ethic puts individuals half her age to shame. As reported by Kinsey Scoffield, a distinguished American royal expert, Princess Anne’s lifetime of unbelievable service has earned her praise and the suggestion that she should be granted an elevated role and title, such as Deputy Monarch or Queen’s Consort.

Undoubtedly, such titles would suit Princess Anne, who is known for her modesty and aversion to fanfare. However, there is no doubt that she will assume special responsibilities and authority, surpassing the dreams of the Sussexes.

My sources within the palace reveal that Charles is designating Princess Anne as the unofficial leader and ultimate authority over all remaining royal patronages and institutions. In essence, she will act as a patronage czar, overseeing the streamlining and reformation of these organizations from top to bottom. Her primary objectives will be to ensure high standards of ethics, efficiency, and genuine public service in line with the requirements of the modern era. Institutions that have previously served as havens for corrupt practices, vanity projects, or dodgy dealings will be reevaluated and potentially dismantled. Princess Anne’s appointment signals a departure from the days when individuals like Prince Andrew and Meghan were associated with such questionable organizations. In fact, it is rumored that both Prince Andrew and Prince Harry could face potential criminal investigations as a result of Princess Anne’s audits of their former ventures. Misuse of funds, fraud, tax evasion, and other shady dealings are said to have been uncovered, and every ill-gotten penny will be subjected to scrutiny and accountability. Harry, in particular, is reportedly distraught over the imminent loss of control over his beloved Invictus Games, which has been one of the few positive legacies from his military career. Sources indicate that he is threatening legal action and smear campaigns unless he retains control and continues to profit from the inspirational sporting event for wounded veterans. However, my sources assure me that Charles’ decree is unwavering, and Harry will have to comply or face the consequences.

Putting the scandalous revelations aside, I, for one, am elated that Princess Anne, a dedicated public servant, is finally receiving the appreciation and empowerment she deserves under the new monarch. Far too often, her substantial and selfless contributions to the Crown have been overlooked. While Charles spent his early adulthood navigating his relationship with Camilla and falling short as a father, Princess Anne was tirelessly touring Britain’s industrial estates and rural communities. She established dignified connections with working-class individuals, likely preventing more severe calls for republicanism during those times. While Andrew was engaging in questionable activities and Harry was living a life of luxury, Princess Anne was advocating for the environment, education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment long before these causes became trendy.

It is high time that the reins of the monarchy were handed over to responsible adults, moving away from the childish and fame-driven antics of individuals like Harry and Meghan. King Charles’ firm and reformist stance is crucial in restoring public faith in the modern monarchy. It is a necessary step in eliminating the tabloid scandals that have tarnished the image of the royal family. No exceptions should be made, and a rebuilding process based on ethical foundations and trust must commence. With Princess Anne as the cynicism-proof, no-nonsense general leading the charge, the monarchy is poised for a ruthless yet fair pruning of its ranks. Institutions that fail to serve the people and exhibit questionable practices will be discarded without ceremony.

While we eagerly anticipate the dismantling of the dubious organizations associated with Andrew and Meghan, there are whispers that both of them may face criminal investigations for financial misconduct, fraud, and tax evasion. Princess Anne’s audits have reportedly unearthed evidence of their questionable dealings. As the Sussex saga continues to unfold, only time will reveal what lies ahead.

Ruth Langsford shares diagnosis after taking time away from ITV’s Loose Women

The Loose Women panellist revealed that her ‘lurgy’ is something a little more serious, giving fans an update on Instagram after taking some time away from the ITV show

Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford has revealed the doctor’s diagnosis with regards to a current ailment which has kept her off air all week.

The 63-year-old has been absent from the flagship ITV show all week, taking to social media in her time off to joke about a ‘lurgy’ while trying to better herself with a number of remedies. However, she today revealed that she has developed a chest infection – subsequently being given a course of antibiotics to get her on the mend.

Taking to Instagram this morning, Ruth wrote: “My ‘lurgy’ is actually a chest infection! So here I am on antibiotics and a steam vaporiser twice a day!” She shared a short clip of the vaporiser in action, before a clip shortly after showed a box of lemon, ginger leaf and manuka tea with Langsford writing: “I’m trying everything!”

The announcement comes as Ruth has been keeping fans updated with her ailment since failing to appear on Loose Women, Monday. In a post on Tuesday, Ruth showed herself blending a mixture of lemon, orange, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, honey and a ‘big splosh’ of whiskey – something she described as a “hot toddy”. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “Got the Lurgy! So I’ve made myself a hot toddy and I’m going back to bed!

“Lemon, orange, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, honey and a big splosh of Irish whiskey. Let’s hope this does the trick….if nothing else it should help me sleep!” Two days later, Ruth returned to detail how she was still feeling run down, and had made a “healthy soup” to try and remedy her ailments.

Lobbing the ingredients into a pan, she penned: “Still got the lurgy! Got out of my sick bed to make myself some healthy soup though. Gathered what veg I had and added a carton of @frejafoods Chicken Bone Broth – just discovered this thanks to my lovely friend @justinemjones – it’s delicious! (bought and paid for, not an Ad!)

“Thanks for the recommendation Justine! Added some cooked chicken and simmered the whole lot into a bowl of nourishing goodness. As my granny used to say….”that’ll put hairs on your chest”!!”Friends and fans alike also rushed to the comments section of Langsford’s post – suggesting their own home-made cures for sickness. One, suggested: “Old fashioned bone broth soup is the best remedy for a cold or flu. Full of anti inflammatory goodness. Grandma really did know best,” while another, quipped: “I had the lurgy last week and Chicken and veg soup sorted me out. Get well soon.”

A third, went on: “Hope you feel better soon x yes put lots of healthy food in your body,” while a fourth, added: “I made the same thing yesterday! Although I added a handful of orzo and it bulked it out a little. It’s was scrummy so had two bowls.”

Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford shares health update as she’s forced to miss the NTAs

Ruth Langsford has shared a health update with her Instagram followers after the Loose Women panellist was forced to miss the National Television Awards 2023 due to a stubborn chest infection

Loose Women host Ruth Langsford has shared an update after missing the National Television Awards 2023 on Tuesday evening, following viewers’ quick spotting of her absence from the glitzy show.

The ITV presenter took to Instagram yesterday to address her stubborn chest infection, which she has been battling now for over a week.

Ruth, who also skipped last year’s NTAs, has now tried everything from hot drinks and steaming to antibiotics prescribed by her GP in an effort to recover and return to full health. She even made a batch of warming chicken and vegetable soup, which had so many nutrients she joked it would “put hairs on your chest!!”

Despite the 63-year-old trying a variety of treatments, it appears the pesky illness has yet to shift. On Tuesday, she revealed a company had even sent her a package of throat lozenges to help her soothe her symptoms.

Ruth first announced she’d come down with the ‘lurgy’ on Instagram last week, after not posting anything on her social media for an entire fortnight. Her first port of call was to make a simple hot drink remedy, complete with “lemon, orange, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, honey and a big splosh of Irish whiskey.” She even whisked the drink up in her French press to ensure the flavours fused perfectly.

“Let’s hope this does the trick….if nothing else it should help me sleep!” she quipped in the caption of the video, which had been enhanced by Irish flute music. Unfortunately for Ruth, the DIY remedy appears not to have worked.

ITV)On the third day of taking her antibiotics, Ruth revealed she had been advised by her doctor to steam twice a day. She shared a video, which had been filmed by husband Eamonn Holmes, of her inhaling from a steamer she’d bought on Amazon.

“Big deep breath,” the GB News presenter can be heard saying the background, before asking, “Is that enough?” Ruth didn’t seem to appreciate his contribution, however, replying, “I don’t want this, Eamonn,” and reaching to cover the lens of the camera with her hand. “I try to do this in peace but @eamonnholmes decided to watch and offer helpful advice this morning!”, she wrote beneath the clip.

Fans of the QVC host have been quick to respond to her worrying updates, with many offering their own health tips in an effort to speed up her recovery.

“Don’t forget the paracetamol,” one person urged, while another suggested she take a COVID-19 test just in case. Others noted they’d feared Ruth was coming down with something on QVC last week, with one person admitting they thought her voice sounded ‘croaky’ on the shopping channel.

In another update, the former This Morning presenter showcased an ‘amalgamation’ of her followers’ remedy suggestions.

“Managed to get fresh turmeric….be VERY careful peeling it, it stains your fingers (& worktop!) bright yellow…so I wear gloves!” she said. “I smashed it up with some fresh ginger, into a pan of simmering water…added lemon peel and one small lemon quartered, half an orange, stick of cinnamon, some cloves, honey and a dash of cayenne pepper (think I was a bit over generous with that, it’s quite spicy!)”

Ruth also said she’d used Irish whiskey as a substitute for apple cider vinegar in the drink, before adding honey and one extra drop of Jameson for taste.
