Former Love Islander Oliva Attwood has hinted at a return to I’m A Celebrity after having ‘chats’ with ITV following her shock exit just 24 hours into last year’s series

Olivia Attwood has hinted at a return to the I’m A Celebrity camp as she revealed she’s “had chats” with the producers. The former Love Island star has been in talks to make a comeback after she was forced to quit last year’s show after just one day.

The 32-year-old left the jungle for medical reasons, much her own disappointment. Yet Olivia could be heading back Down Under following her early departure. Appearing on Loose Women, Olivia was asked by the panel if she would make a return. She cryptically replied: “We’ve had chats”, leaving the audience to let out a loud: “Oooh!” in excitement.

The reality TV star sparked concerns that she was ‘dangerously anaemic’ following medical tests, and as a result, ITV bosses decided that her time in the jungle had to come to an end. Viewers were quick to speculate over why Olivia had to leave the show, with some claiming pregnancy may have been the reason for her shock departure. The former Love Island star hit out at the rumour, describing the false claim as ‘misogynistic’.

Olivia confirmed that the drama came about as a result of a routine blood test, which all campmates undergo randomly throughout the course of the show – and unfortunately for Olivia her test showed she was dangerously anaemic, as well as having low sodium and potassium levels, which sadly aren’t conducive to jungle life.

“The results were really, really low when they put them into their reader and they consulted with another doctor off site,” she explained. “I had those bloods done in England before I left, and they were fine. I was confused and of course very, very worried. I was so scared, I was like “what the hell is wrong with me?’. ‘They couldn’t give me an answer, they just told me that they had to get me to the hospital immediately.”

Appearing on This Morning after she made a return back to the UK, Olivia admitted she didn’t watch much of the I’m A Celebrity series following her departure from camp – confessing it was all quite “sad” given her dramatic exit. The This Morning presenters then asked the star if she would be willing to fly Down Under once again and have another go at the experience.

Olivia didn’t give a definite answer as she cited logistical issues and prior filming commitments as reasons why she may be unable to return – but admitting she would “love to” head into the jungle again. She was disappointed to not have chance to grill shamed former Health Secretary Matt Hancock on the show last year as she left before he arrived. However, Olivia may get chance to show her take-no-prisoners attitude if she and Boris Johnson head into the I’m A Celebrity camp this year.

With both in talks to head to the jungle, Oliva said: “I’d take him to task because I’m naturally inquisitive… I’m naturally gobby.” The newlywed reckons the first thing she would quiz Johnson about is his terrible hair. She added: “I mean, Jesus… who’s the hairdresser? And why do they hate you?!”

“If you’ve got someone you can ask interesting questions to… like, there’s nothing else to do. I would welcome them to challenge me in the same way.” Olivia confirmed she is in talks about going back to the jungle after her stint was “cut short” last year. She said: “I owe it to myself and the viewers to finish that experience, but it’s a big chunk out of your life. My diary, in the next six months, has not got many days that aren’t accounted for. It’s a ‘let’s see what we can do’ situation.”

The ITV news presenter and Loose Women panellist was leading the show today, where she discussed timekeeping with the other three panellists – Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy. As they chatted about anxiety around keeping time, Natalie admitted she was there for the show really early – whilst Charlene said she showed up late.

That led to Charlene being ‘reprimanded’ by one of her colleagues, who joked that she she should be given a “warning” for turning up late to the show. Coleen then admitted she finds it annoying when people are late for work due to things in their control, before Charlene continued to insist that her reason for being late wasn’t in her control.

Meanwhile, earlier in the show, Charlene and the panel celebrated her birthday, which she spent camping.

Speaking about her special surprise, she said: “This is 44. And I ended up camping for it. Which is VERY unlike me! Thanks for all the really lovely birthday messages, DM’s, calls, texts, Stories etc. yesterday!

“I’ve had zero signal for days, as my birthday fell on the same weekend as Alfie’s class camping trip. And it turns out the reception is rubbish in the countryside. The wonderful parents in Alfie’s class and Andy threw a surprise birthday party for me yesterday afternoon, complete with decorations, presents, and my favourite drink. There were 24 families on the trip so it was quite an undertaking, and I’m super thankful. And the sun even shone. Woo-hoo!”

Charlene previously opened up about working with the Loose Women panel. She told The Mirror: “It’s a bunch of mates having a laugh. A lot of times they cut back to the studio after an ad break and we’re all still laughing… I’m lucky to work with an incredible bunch of women. We all have fun… Every morning we have our meeting together, it’s a room full of joy and laughter… It’s a room full of friendship and a room full of compassion, we care a lot about each other.”

Some of Britain’s biggest names have found themselves being talked about for all the wrong reasons over the years. Away from appearing on our TV screens on some of the nation’s favourite daytime TV programmes, several big names have made unwanted cameos in a court.

Earlier this week, Loose Women presenter Coleen Nolan fined almost £1,000 and handed six penalty points on her licence after being caught speeding earlier this month. The former singer isn’t the only famous figure to have a brush with the law when it comes to driving offences – with some stars presenting unique reasons when pleading to be let off with a lighter ban or fine.

Nick Knowles was banned from driving for six months in June 2019 after he was caught speeding while on his phone. The 60-year-old TV presenter, best known for his work on BBC show DIY SOS, was also fined more than £1,300 at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court. He went on to describe the ban as “a wake-up call”.

A court heard that the former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! contestant was driving at 85mph in his Range Rover when he was caught by a police mobile speed camera on the A417 Brockworth bypass. Nick told judges that he had not used the hands-free kit inside his car because of a “dodgy power lead”.

As the Who Dares Wins presenter already had six points on his licence, the six points added after this offence took him to the 12 point limit required for a ban. Presiding justice Andrew Hill told Nick: “We take into account that you have shown remorse. We will disqualify you from driving today and you will be disqualified from driving for six months. From this moment in time, you are not able to drive any motor vehicle in any public place.”

Nick then asked: “I can drive home, right?” After being told no, he couldn’t drive himself home from court, the TV presenter then said: “I’m joking.” Nick was also fined £666 for speeding and £666 for using his mobile phone, with a victim surcharge of £66 and prosecution costs of £85.

Speaking after the case, the BBC presenter stated: “For me, this was a wake-up call and me putting my phone in the boot of my car now stops the temptation. The six-month ban was appropriate because to give anything else would be giving me special privilege.”

Martin Roberts was banned from driving and fined thousands of pounds in 2019 after failing to undergo a police drink-drive test. The Homes Under The Hammer presenter taken to Keynsham Police Centre on Ashmead Road on November 24 2018 where he was required to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, according to court papers seen by Somerset Live.

The TV star, who appeared on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in 2016, pleaded not guilty to failing to provide a sample ‘without reasonable excuse to do so’ at Bath Magistrates’ Court in 2019. On March 27 he was found guilty and fined £3,461 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £120 and prosecution costs of £930. Martin was banned from driving for 23 months.

Speaking in 2019, Martin’s lawyer Charles Knapper said: “Mr Roberts was convicted despite the evidence from a medical expert that he suffers from certain medical conditions that were likely to have prevented him from giving a sample. Mr Roberts maintains that he failed to give a sample only as a result of those medical conditions and is in the process of lodging an appeal. It would therefore be inappropriate to comment further until after the appeal has been heard.”

Martin’s appeal case was later dismissed by recorder Noel Casey, who retained the sentence and imposed £520 costs, telling the TV presenter: “We accept the appellant suffers from asthma but not to an extent much greater than many other sufferers.”

Speaking to Bristol Live following his failed appeal, Martin said: “This is a bad day for me. But it is also a terrible day for asthma sufferers. How can it be fair that someone that has a lifelong history of asthma, that declares that asthma to police, is only offered a breathylser test that involves exhaling effectively – and is not offered any alternative way of providing a sample – such as giving blood or urine?”

Kay Burley was taken off air at Sky News for six months in December 2020 after hosting a birthday party that broke coronavirus regulations earlier that year. Sky’s political editor, Beth Rigby, and the north of England correspondent Inzamam Rashid also agreed to stay off air for three months.

All three journalists remained on full pay throughout their break from TV screens, which was characterised as “agreed” absences rather than suspensions. In an email to colleagues at the time, Kay said she was “really very sorry” for her actions and described herself as “an idiot”.

The journalist, who is a presenter on Sky News and hosts Kay Burley, the breakfast slot on the channel, also published a statement on Twitter that said: “It doesn’t matter that I thought I was Covid-compliant on a recent social event. The fact is I was wrong, I made a big mistake, and I am sorry. I very much look forward to being able to continue my 32-year career with Sky when I return.”

Kay was taken off air in December after her 60th birthday party in London, which was then under tier 2 restrictions. The broadcaster had been part of a group that dined at two tables in one venue and then visited another before a group of four went back to her house. Kay returned to Sky News on 7 June

Jamelia

Jamelia cried in court before being handed a 45 day driving ban (

Jamelia, who sat on the Loose Women panel between 2013 and 2016, cried in court in 2014 after it emerged that she had been driving around without insurance. The Superstar singer, 42, admitted in Redditch Magistrates Court she thought her insurance would renew automatically.

The Brit Award-winning singer was stopped by police on the A491 next to Bromsgrove on August 24 2013, where officers also discovered two of Jamelia’s tyres had insufficient tread and another with a lump, bulge or tear. Jamelia was later given a 45 days driving ban, ordered to pay a fine of £455 and £60 in court costs.

Appearing in court, the mum-of-four cried in the dock and appealed to the magistrates not to ban her from driving as she had no family or friends that could drive her children to school. She unsuccessfully argued she could not afford to pay the £70 taxi fee for both of her children to travel to school and back each day.

The Hollyoaks actress argued that as a self-employed entertainer she had to budget her earnings as she was never sure when her next pay cheque would be. Jamelia made no comment as she left Redditch Magistrates Court after being informed she would be unable to get behind the wheel of a car for 45 days.

Coleen Nolan

Coleen Nolan has been fined almost £1,000 and handed six penalty points on her licence after being caught speeding. The Loose Women star, 58, had been driving her Toyota on Preston New Road in Blackpool, Lancs when she broke the 30mph speed limit on July 8.

She initially pled not guilty but changed her plea to guilty on the day of the trial at Preston Magistrates’ Courts on July 21. In addition to the £900 fine and points on her licence, she must also pay a £360 surcharge to fund victim services and £150 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The TV personality, who has appeared on Loose Women on and off since 2000, shared earlier this month that she had been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on her shoulder and melanoma on her face.

Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood has announced her latest job position – as a panellist on long-running ITV daytime talk show Loose Women.

The 32-year-old reality star – who was a contestant on Love Island back in 2017 – has appeared as a guest on the daytime panel show in the past. But now she has been upgraded to being a panellist herself, rather than a guest speaker.

Fans tuning in to Loose Women will see Liv sitting alongside other well known faces where she will share her insights, opinions and experiences relating to the biggest headlines of the day. And it seems the star – who recently tied-the-knot with footballer Bradley Dack – is very excited about her new appointment.

Taking to Instagram on Monday ahead of her Tuesday show appearance, Olivia let the cat out the bag. Sharing a snap of herself backstage at ITV studios, the reality star shared her exciting news with her fans and social media followers.

Fans were excited last year when Olivia was cast as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! But they were left crestfallen when she was forced to pull out of the reality show after less than 24 hours due to health reasons.

Olivia has hinted that she could return to the jungle this year instead. She said recently: “We’ve had chats. I was having great fun. I loved it, I think that’s what made it harder [when I had to leave].

“I was gutted because it was always a dream of mine to do the show. They said they weren’t going to do the Love Island crossover, so it was huge for me. You know when you put something high on a pedestal of things you want to do.”

“If we can make it work with other stuff, I would love to – especially for the viewers.”

NDubz star Tulisa Contostavlos was sent well wishes by the Loose Women stars after cancelling her appearance on the show.

Tulisa was expected to appear on today’s episode of Loose Women but half way through the show, lead panellist Kaye Adams revealed that Tulisa wouldn’t be able to make it on the programme today as she was unwell.

Kaye paused the show to send the Loose Women’s best wishes to Tulisa and confirmed she’d be on the show sometime soon. Announcing she wouldn’t be there, Kaye said they were hoping she’d make a speedy recovery.

Whilst she wasn’t able to make it onto Loose Women today, Tulisa did appear on Good Morning Britain alongside her bandmates Fazer and Dappy earlier this month, where she chatted about their new music, describing it as a “masterpiece”.

Speaking about the possibility of collaborating with Little Mix, who she helped mentor when they were on the X Factor, she said: “I would love to, it’s not something we’ve talked about’. I am still in touch with them, I just talked to Leigh-Anne now before I came on and said ‘there’s a launch party tonight do you want to come?’”

Recently, she gave an interview to The Guardian about her rise to fame and tough childhood.

“I expected fame to be glorious and there are parts of it that are still amazing to this day. But I think the kind of fame that you experience depends on what sort of character you are, how out there your personal life is. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for me, but I wouldn’t change any of it,” she recalled of her experience of success.

She also opened up about her own health battles including her Bell’s palsy diagnosis.

She explained: “I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy four years ago and I’m learning to live with it. I’ve got chronic pain and inflammation down the whole left side of my body as well as in my face and in my kneecap.

“Steroids reduce the inflammation. On one occasion an attack felt as if I was having a stroke. I spent seven months hiding, drinking out of a straw – I couldn’t move one side of my face. Experts have yet to find out the root cause.”

We both love our kids more than anything else in the world, obviously you have a few hiccups in every marriage,” Linda shared of her marriage situation at present as she discussed the rumours circulating, “We’ve been married 33 years so it’s not going to be all plain sailing, but we’re still together at the moment.”

During a separate chat on Loose Women, Linda admitted her and her husband hadn’t had sex in two years.

“Can I just say I’ve been celibate for two years?” she said, “I can’t be a**** with all that [romance stuff]. I’m just happy going out with my mates and my children and my grandchildren. If I’ve got three or four days off work, I’ll just go to Mallorca. I’ll get a flight out there. Stay in a hotel hopefully full of Germans so no-one will recognise me and just have a nice relaxing time. I just love sitting on the sun bed, round the pool, on the beach, reading a book. I would like to take a cruise round the world on my own.”

Today, Linda also revealed she had been at the hospital getting her knee checked out following a holiday injury. She confirmed she was seen very quickly and felt fine, before being taken to work so she could be on the show today.

Will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry return to being senior-level royals? A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed the former actress pushed her husband to mend things with King Charles to protect their royal resources.

In 2020, the Sussexes left the monarchy and launched Archewell Productions, but their time in Hollywood continues to be rocky. The insider claimed Meghan is “desperate to save their reputation.”

Prince Harry is “furious” that another member of the Royal Family has been handed a position within his charity, it has been claimed.

Prince Harry is said to be “furious” that Mike Tindall has been “given a high position” at the Invictus Games, a royal expert has claimed.

Modeled after the Warrior Games in the US, the Invictus Games were founded by Harry in 2014 to offer wounded veterans the challenge of competing in sports events similar to the Paralympics.

Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News the Games have become “too royal” because of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

He said: “Mike Tindall, who is the husband of Zara, the King’s niece, has been given a high position to do something about the Invictus Games.

“I think Harry is absolutely furious about this. It has been announced, but very quietly.”

Fitzwilliams added: “Some people say they want Harry because he’s the beginning of the whole Invictus Games, and other people say that it would be delightful that they don’t do all this nonsense and they don’t want Meghan making speeches. They don’t want her leading marches.

 

“She did lead people who were in winning last year, and she walked as if she was at a dress show and they were walking behind her looking very angry because she doesn’t really know very much about the army and the military.”

 

The royal expert added a reconciliation between Harry and the rest of the family is unlikely to happen due to the Duke of Sussex “rushing off” to be with Meghan after the event on May 8, which will be held in London.

Fitzwilliams said: “He won’t be going to see his father or brother. It’s said that he won’t be here for very long.”

The Duke of Sussex is reportedly set to make an appearance in person at an upcoming event, despite earlier considerations of joining via video link due to security worries.

He faced a setback recently when his attempt to challenge the Home Office over police protection was rejected, stripping him of the entitlement to royal security services.

Despite the controversies, Harry will return to the UK next month to attend the Invictus Games event, which he established in 2014 alongside the Ministry of Defence.

ESPN is standing firm in its decision to honor Prince Harry with the Pat Tillman Award for Service at this month’s ESPYs … doubling down and saying the Duke of Sussex is a rightful recipient of the honor.

As we previously reported, Tillman’s mother, Mary, was dissatisfied with this year’s pick for the award … saying there were plenty of lesser-known candidates that deserve some recognition — and referring to Harry as “controversial and divisive” in the process.

ESPN talent Pat McAfee also dogged the selection … claiming it felt like the network was purposely trying to strike a controversy.

The outlet got wind of all the outrage … and released a statement further explaining why Harry earned the award through all the work he’s done with his yearly sports event for injured or ill military members.

“ESPN, with the support of the Tillman Foundation, is honoring Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, specifically for the work of The Invictus Games Foundation as it celebrates its 10th year promoting healing through the power of sport for military service members and veterans around the world,” the outlet said to TMZ Sports.

“While we understand not everyone will agree with all honorees selected for any award, The Invictus Games Foundation does incredible work and ESPN believes this is a cause worth celebrating.”

Of course, Tillman left his NFL career behind to join the Army following the 9/11 attacks … and tragically died in a friendly fire incident in April 2004.
