  • Beckham caused controversy when he called MU’s failures the motivation for him to develop Inter Miami

Beckham caused controversy when he called MU’s failures the motivation for him to develop Inter Miami

Former United star Beckham was in Manchester on Thursday to attend the premiere of a new documentary about the club’s 1999 treble-winning side.

Beckham was a key figure in the United team that won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup under legendary boss Alex Ferguson.

Now the former England captain’s Studio 99 company have played a role in the production of ’99’, a three-part series that launches on May 17.

Twenty-five years on from his role in that epic treble triumph, Beckham addressed the current malaise at Old Trafford.

United manager Erik ten Hag is fighting to avoid the sack with his team languishing in eighth place in the Premier League after Monday’s embarrassing 4-0 loss at Crystal Palace.

Beckham believes the players must take their share of the blame, saying: “You’d hope that the manager doesn’t have to do much.

“I think that’s the whole point of being a Manchester United player and playing in these big games – you should be motivated.”

Ten Hag’s difficult second season in charge could be salvaged if United beat arch rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

And Beckham hopes United’s current crop can prove they deserve long-term futures at the club by shining at Wembley as they look to avenge last season’s loss to City in the final.

“When you’re a professional footballer and you’re doing the job you love and you’re at the club you love, when you’re playing in any game, whether it’s a regular season game or whether it’s an FA Cup final against your rivals, that should be enough motivation,” he said.

“And, if it’s not, then you’re in the wrong team and you’re playing the wrong sport. We went into every game, whether it was a youth cup game, a friendly game, off-season or a European Cup final, with the same mentality and the same drive.

“We all know Erik’s a very qualified manager and a good manager and he has the right motives.”

Beckham, a member of United’s famed ‘Class of 92’ that also included Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt, won six Premier League titles, one Champions League and numerous other honours during 11 years before joining Real Madrid.

The 49-year-old, a boyhood United fan, admits he has been discouraged by the club’s problems since their last Premier League crown in Ferguson’s final season in 2013.

“Obviously it’s been a tough five, 10, 15 years at United and we all know that but it was never going to be easy when the boss left, (Roy) Keane left, Giggsy (Ryan Giggs) left, Gary (Neville) left,” he said.

“All of these important players and personalities and characters all left United, it was always going to be a difficult time.

“We want the lads to feel – from this documentary – the inspiration of being this successful.”
Beckham’s presence at the premiere of the documentary about Manchester United’s treble-winning side reignited the nostalgic memories of the glorious 1999 season. As a pivotal player in Sir Alex Ferguson’s remarkable team, Beckham understands the pressures and expectations that come with wearing the United badge. Reflecting on the current struggles at Old Trafford, Beckham emphasized the need for the players to take responsibility and show the same passion and commitment that defined their successful predecessors. With Erik ten Hag fighting to keep his job amidst a disappointing season, Beckham remains confident in the manager’s abilities. The upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City presents an opportunity for redemption and a chance for the current squad to prove their worth. Beckham’s words echo the sentiment of a true United legend, emphasizing the importance of passion, dedication, and pride in representing the club.Looking back at his own illustrious career at United, Beckham acknowledges the challenges that the team has faced in the post-Ferguson era. The departure of key figures has left a void that has been difficult to fill, but Beckham remains hopeful that the values instilled by the ‘Class of 92’ can inspire the current generation of players. As a lifelong fan of the club, Beckham’s passion for United is unwavering, and he is committed to seeing the team return to its former glory. As we continue to provide updates and insights on all things football, we invite you to join us on this journey of discovery and inspiration. • Why wasn’t David Beckham knighted despite his charitable activities around the world?

Why wasn’t David Beckham knighted despite his charitable activities around the world?

Since THAT halfway line goal against Wimbledon in 1996 the former Manchester United and England midfielder has rarely been away from our screens or back pages.

We know he married Posh Spice, we know he copped a boot on the head from Sir Alex Ferguson and we know his other half refers to him as Golden Balls.

We know he has tattoos, we know each of his hairstyles and we all know he went from 1998 villain to hero with the national football team.

But do we know how much the Londoner does for those not as fortunate as him?

On Saturday afternoon, Beckham will lead out a Great Britain side at a packed Old Trafford.

The match, against a Rest of the World side made up of his old cronies from across the globe, will raise thousands for the children’s charity UNICEF.

It has been no small undertaking. At one point Beckham almost brought together warring duo Ferguson and Roy Keane. Had it not been for a calf injury, Rio Ferdinand was set to line up alongside Ashley Cole and John Terry.

But that is the least of it. The game at the Theatre of Dreams is the last of seven in each of the world’s continents.

Earlier this month Beckham, in his 10th year as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, was in a refugee camp in Dijbouti, meeting children and families displaced by conflict in nearby countries.

The Ali Addeh camp holds more than 10,000 refugees from Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia. It is fair to say that when Beckham arrived there was some excitement.

There was also publicity of the plight of those stationed there, which was kind of the point.

‘As a father it breaks my heart to see children living in such difficult circumstances,’ he said.

Words that would strike a chord with most, especially when they come from the former England captain.

Beckham is also a founding member of Malaria No More and a supporter of Help for Heroes.

In 2010 he flew to Afghanistan to meet British forces serving in Helmand.

As if this was not enough, the charity he runs with his wife, The Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust, has raised more than £1m in five years.

Their work has helped sick and disabled across the planet.

A recent poll of 1,000 found that more than half believed Beckham should not be knighted.

If they are right then we may as well give up.

Beckham won 115 England caps, and singlehandedly got us into the 2002 World Cup.

He captained the side of six years and have his all for the Three Lions.

He is an ambassador not just for UNICEF but for this country, having won friends wherever he has played.

The next time those at Buckingham Palace discuss who gets the sword on the shoulders, Beckham should be top of the list.

    Arise, Sir David of Leytonstone.
David Beckham’s philanthropic efforts have often been overshadowed by his footballing achievements and celebrity status. However, he has consistently shown his commitment to making a positive impact on the world around him. In addition to his work with UNICEF, Beckham is also involved with several other charitable organizations. As a founding member of Malaria No More, he has helped raise awareness and funds for the fight against this deadly disease. He has also been a longtime supporter of Help for Heroes, an organization that provides assistance to wounded veterans.Beckham’s charitable work extends beyond global organizations to include his own foundation, The Victoria and David Beckham Charitable Trust. Together with his wife, Victoria, Beckham has raised over £1 million to support sick and disabled individuals around the world. Their efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of many in need.Despite his numerous contributions to humanitarian causes, Beckham’s charitable work often goes unrecognized. A recent poll found that more than half of respondents did not believe he should be knighted for his philanthropic efforts. However, his impact on the world goes far beyond his footballing achievements. As a father himself, Beckham’s visits to refugee camps and military bases have shown his genuine empathy and compassion for those less fortunate. His willingness to use his platform to raise awareness for important causes sets him apart as a true ambassador for good.Whether he receives a knighthood or not, Beckham’s legacy as a humanitarian and philanthropist is undeniable. He has used his fame and influence to make a positive impact on the world, and for that, he deserves recognition and praise. In keeping with this custom, Princess Anne has chosen a unique and endearing name for Charles, showcasing their familial bond.

This affectionate nickname came to light during the BBC documentary *Charles at Agee*, which chronicles the monarch’s first year on the throne leading up to his coronation in May 2023.

A heartwarming moment was captured on film, where Princess Anne approached King Charles and greeted him with a cheerful “hello old bean.”

The king responded with a radiant smile and laughter, even planting a kiss on his sister’s hand.

According to royal editor Hannah Furness from the Telegraph, this playful nickname reflects the deep connection between the siblings.

In her analysis, Furness noted that their relationship is characterized by warmth and mutual support.

She emphasized that Princess Anne is well-positioned to provide guidance and encouragement to Charles, understanding both the history and future of the royal family.

Lilibet’s Real Parents Demand Custody in Shocking Turn of Events

Lilibet’s Real Parents Demand Custody in Shocking Turn of Events

In a surprising twist of events, Sussex finds itself embroiled in a contentious battle as the true biological parents of Lilibet have come forward, demanding the return of their child.

The saga began when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the decision to step back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocate to the United States.

Their announcement of the birth of their second child, Lilibet Diana, in June 2021 was met with widespread excitement.

However, a recent report by the Mirror Daily has cast a shadow of doubt over the circumstances surrounding Lilibet’s birth.

Contrary to the narrative put forth by Harry and Meghan, the birth certificate of Lilibet reveals a startling revelation.

It discloses that she was actually delivered at a private clinic in Los Angeles and her parents are identified as John and Jane Doe, pseudonyms used to represent the surrogate couple who carried and gave birth to the child on behalf of Harry and Meghan.

The Mirror Daily report alleges that Harry and Meghan entered into an agreement with the surrogate couple, compensating them $1.5 million in exchange for full custody and parental rights of Lilibet.

The surrogate couple, believed to be of Spanish-American descent, have now expressed a change of heart and are seeking legal recourse to reclaim their child.

Their claims suggest that they were misled and coerced by Harry and Meghan, who allegedly concealed their true identities and intentions.

Furthermore, the couple asserts that the naming of the child as Lilibet infringed upon their privacy and dignity, breaching the terms of their agreement.

Legal proceedings have been initiated by the anonymous surrogate couple, challenging the custody of Lilibet and aiming to establish regular contact and visitation rights with the child.

While Harry and Meghan have refrained from directly addressing the allegations, sources close to them have conveyed their distress over the situation.

They are contemplating legal action against the Daily Mirror for defamation, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding Lilibet as their own.

Amidst the unfolding controversy, public opinion remains divided on the matter.

Supporters of Harry and Meghan view them as victims of a malicious scheme, while critics accuse them of orchestrating a deceitful ploy.

The implications of this revelation extend beyond the personal realm, sparking speculations about the future dynamics between Harry, Meghan, and the royal family.

Key questions loom large, including the potential repercussions on the monarchy’s reputation and stability.

Will Harry and Meghan reconcile with their respective families or contemplate a return to the United Kingdom?

The uncertainty surrounding Lilibet’s status within the royal lineage underscores the complexities of this intricate saga.

As the narrative unfolds, the unresolved queries surrounding Harry and Meghan’s royal journey continue to captivate audiences worldwide.

Meghan Markle was filmed asking Prince Harry what was on his list of perfect characteristics in a woman, in a clip that caught attention after it was posted on TikTok.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex told their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan about how their relationship started back in 2016. And Meghan let slip that Harry had written down all the characteristics he hoped to find in his perfect woman.

“He had a list apparently of what he was looking for,” Meghan said, “an extensive list.”

“I’m not showing you the list; nice try,” Harry said, adding that “this is the list,” as he gestured at Meghan.

While the documentary was released in December 2022, the clip was posted a day ago on TikTok alongside the message: “Prince Harry and Meghan met 8 years ago this month. They had their first dates at the beginning of July 2016, and they are still going strong.”

The moment, posted to @harry.nd.meghan, was viewed more than 46,000 times and liked over 3,600 times. One reply reads: “The perfect pair you can see he calms her and she calms him. They’re very much in love they don’t care what the media says. They do their thing and they love it.”

The start of the clip shows Meghan discussing how the pair went on a holiday to Botswana in Southern Africa together, a little more than a month after their first date.

“I’m getting on the plane and going to the middle of the bush? What am I doing?” Meghan said in the six-part docuseries. “What if we don’t like each other?

“So I get there. This is the first time I’ve seen him in a month. We’re awkward at first. Do we hug? Do we kiss? And I remember he handed me a chicken sandwich.”

Meghan added, though that, “thankfully, we really liked each other.”

“She’s so comfortable and so relaxed in my company,” Prince Harry added.

The couple’s first date was in July 2016 after Harry spotted her in an Instagram video posted by his friend Violet von Westenholz.

In his book, Spare, Harry wrote: “I was sitting around Nott Cott [Nottingham Cottage, a house in the grounds of Kensington Palace in London], scrolling through Instagram. In my feed I saw a video: My friend Violet. And a young woman.

“They were playing with a new app that put silly filters on your photos. Violet and the woman had dog ears, dog noses, long red dog tongues hanging out. Despite the canine cartoon overlay, I sat up straighter.

“This woman with Violet… my God. I watched the video several times, then forced myself to put down the phone. Then picked it up again, watched the video again,” Harry wrote.

“I’d traveled the world, from top to bottom, literally. I’d hopscotched the continents. I’d met hundreds of thousands of people, I’d crossed paths with a ludicrously large cross-section of the planet’s seven billion residents.

“For thirty-two years I’d watched a conveyor-belt of faces pass by and only a handful ever made me look twice. This woman stopped the conveyor-belt. This woman smashed the conveyor-belt to bits. I’d never seen anyone so beautiful,” Harry added.

King Charles isn’t currently planning visits to riot hit hotspots as the monarch follows the late Queen’s lead in his response.

Royal sources have said Charles is being kept updated daily about the disorder which has plagued streets in England and Northern Ireland since three girls were fatally stabbed in Southport, Merseyside.

The Labour Government leads the response to the unrest, with Charles expected as monarch to stay out of politics.

Anti-monarchy group, Republic, has criticised the lack of response from the King, with its leader, Graham Smith, claiming that when the nation is in crisis, the monarch is “nowhere to be seen”.

But Charles appears to be following a precedent set by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who didn’t send any messages when rioting erupted in summer 2011.

The Queen Visits Injured Victims Of The Manchester Arena Bombing

The Daily Mail’s former royal correspondent, Richard Kay, said the late Queen had been receiving updates about developments at that time.

He reported that plans were being put in place for an “appropriate” royal response to those riots, which came a few months before Her Late Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Mr Kay suggested that response would most likely come in the form of a “high-profile” visit by a senior royal to communities affected by the violence.

Prince William and Princess Kate, then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, visited Machan Express Coffee bar in the centre of Birmingham in August, 2011, which was ransacked during rioting in the area.

After riots in Toxteth in July 1981, Charles visited David Lewis Youth Centre in the same neighbourhood of inner-city Liverpool during a two hour trip a few weeks later.

Chalres did express grief and concern after the fatal stabbings in Southport, but to date he hasn’t addressed the rioting or anti-immigration protests which have erupted since.

Historian and author, Sir Anthony Seldon, defended King Charles, telling the BBC now is not the time for the monarch to get involved.

He told the broadcaster: “The time for the King to speak, if at all, is when everything has calmed down again. The issues that have led to the riots are not going to go away quickly. We need to hear his considered thoughts then about societal harmony.”

Others have called on the King to speak out now. Historian Kate Williams told Times Radio this is the moment for Charles to talk about multiculturalism, the Commonwealth and commnity cohesion.

She told the station: “I think that if I were advising him I would suggest making that statement sooner rather than later.”

Craig Prescott, a constitutional expert at Royal Holloway, University of London, said in general, the monarchy does not comment on current political events.

He wrote on X: “It chiefly acts through its ‘work’, i.e. Charles visited Tottenham several times after the 2011 riots (and was praised for that).”

Mr Prescott added that in “a slightly different way”, the late Queen visited those injured in the Manchester Arena bombing, describing the bomber as “very wicked”.

The expert said: “Once the riots have subsided, you might expect members of the Royal Family to visit places affected and perhaps to see them more in multicultural settings.

“We’ve perhaps already seen this a little more in this reign (not that Elizabeth II didn’t do engagements like this).”

Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment.

The Duke of Sussex sent shockwaves around the world when his explosive memoir was released in 2023.

More than a year after the release of Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, a royal expert claims the repercussions of Harry’s revelations are still being felt.

Spare landed on bookshelves in January 2023, just a few months after the demise of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. It became the best-selling book of 2023, and it sold almost half a million copies in the UK in its first week of sale.

In the pages, he shared personal details of growing up, and his life within the Royal Family, including events on the day the late sovereign passed away.

Since the release of his book, Harry’s relations with his brother, Prince William and King Charles, have deteriorated, with Harry not making many visits back to the UK to see his family.

In a damning six-word verdict about why Spare is still discussed today, royal writer, Robert Hardman, said: “He gave away too many secrets.”

The royal writer told the Independent that people are still feeling hurt from the contents of the book. He said: “People are still very wounded, particularly Prince William, that these intimate private childhood family moments all spilled out in Harry’s book.

“It’s not what Harry said, it’s the fact that he said it, and he gave away so many secrets. And he was, effectively, at the time of the Queen’s death, you know, he was taking notes.”

Prince Harry last visited the UK for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games at a service held at St Paul’s Cathedral in May, but his father, King Charles, hosted a Buckingham Palace Garden Party the same day and no immediate family members attended the service.

Speaking about the father and son relationship, Robert said: “There he is, he’s got two sons, one he hardly sees, and two grandchildren he’s barely ever seen, and yes, I think he would like some sort of modus vivendi.

“Clearly, they can’t return to Royal life, I don’t believe they want to. And, after everything that’s happened, it wouldn’t be feasible.”

Meanwhile, royal biographer, Ingrid Seward, suggested to the Mirror that concerns over security may prevent any chances of a family reunion.

She said: “Harry and Meghan’s security fears could well be a stumbling block to any kind of reunion with the Royal Family. But no doubt they have been invited to Balmoral this summer.”

Reflecting on the unique family time Balmoral Castle offers, she continued, “As the late Queen discovered, Scotland offers the only quality time a monarch has to devote to family.

“It would be very sad if Charles was denied the pleasure of seeing his grandchildren just because of Harry’s unfounded security woes.”

Meanwhile, Princess Kate is expected to join Prince William and their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six – at the Royal Family’s summer holiday at Balmoral in August.
