TV SHAKE-UP  Tess Daly & Vernon Kay ‘Set to Become the New Richard & Judy’ — As Power Couple Are Lined Up to Front This Morning

Tess Daly could be heading from the Strictly ballroom to the This Morning sofa, and insiders say her next co-host might just be her husband, Vernon Kay.

The long-time TV duo are reportedly being lined up as a new presenting pair for ITV’s flagship daytime show, with comparisons already being made to iconic couple Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan.

Tess Daly and Vernon Kay tipped to become ‘next Richard and Judy’

Tess, 56, stunned Strictly fans earlier this year when she revealed she would be stepping down after 21 years.

The host called it the “right time to hand over the reins.” As she prepares for her final episodes on the iconic BBC dance show, speculation has been swirling about her next move.

According to Closer, sources claim the long-time host is already being courted by ITV, and the deal could be worth a seven-figure sum.

“There is serious interest,” the insider revealed. “ITV know they need warmth, credibility and connection. Tess and Vernon tick every box.”

The source added, “They’re charming, relatable and real. Viewers loved Richard [Madeley] and Judy [Finnigan] because their connection was genuine. Tess and Vernon have that same spark. They bring a wholesome energy. People trust them, and that’s gold dust.”

    Tess and Vernon

Tess and Vernon, 51, first met in 2001 and married two years later. They’ve since welcomed daughters Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.

Tess began hosting Strictly Come Dancing in 2004, alongside the late Sir Bruce Forsyth. She later became part of a beloved double act with Claudia Winkleman after Bruce stepped down in 2013.

Meanwhile, Vernon has fronted everything from All Star Family Fortunes to his own BBC Radio 2 show. He’s also no stranger to This Morning, having stepped in as a guest presenter. The new role, insiders say, could be a “big-time” comeback for him.

Current hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard have held down the This Morning fort since March 2024, following the resignations of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in 2023.

But reports suggest Cat may be considering stepping back, potentially opening the door for Tess and Vernon to take the reins.

Pregnant Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg have delighted fans after sharing a 4D scan of their baby.

The Strictly pro announced in September that she was expecting her first child, a boy, with content creator Joe. Since then, the pair have been keeping fans updated on their pregnancy journey.

And this week, Dianne and Joe – who started dating in 2018 – headed for a 4D scan of their bundle of joy.

In a recent YouTube video on Joe’s account, Joe brought viewers along to his and Dianne’s 4D scan of their unborn baby.

His little face! Oh my gosh he’s so cute.

“So all those whooshing noises are him moving,” said the midwife, as she scanned Dianne’s stomach with the technology. Strictly star Dianne said: “I can feel him!” as Joe quipped: “Baby keep still!”

Joe then filmed his unborn baby’s face as he popped up on the screen. An emotional Joe proclaimed: “Aww, so cute!” Dianne said: “His little face! Oh my gosh, he’s so cute.”

Joe added: “The cutest little nose,” before he turned the camera around to show him overcome with emotion, as tears welled up in his eyes.

    ‘Isn’t he so cute?!’

A stunned Joe mused: “It’s amazing that your body has made, like created bones inside it.” After the scan, Joe and Dianne headed to the waiting room. Looking at the photo of their unborn baby Dianne said: “Isn’t he so cute?!”

Joe then updated fans and said: “So his foot is basically up next to his head which I’m sure is fine.”

Dianne said: “Everyone would presume it’s from me, because I’m a dancer, but I think your [Joe] flexibility of leg to head,” as Joe replied: “Yeah I’ve got good flexibility.”

Joe then told Dianne: “I can safely say he’s got your nose.” Dianne agreed: “He’s definitely got my nose!”

Fans left gushing over baby update

As expected, Dianne and Joe’s loyal legion of fans were left swooning by the baby scan video.

In the YouTube comments section, one person said: “Seeing your little boys face was so precious. He totally has Diane’s nose but definitely looks like you Joe!”

A second chimed in: “Well that is a little baby Dianne if I ever did see it! He’s a very cute little thing already!”

A third then said: “He looks like Dianne already bless him.” Another fan wrote: “Thank you so much for sharing a clip of the scan, it’s so appreciated, he’s absolutely gorgeous, the cutest little face, I can see Dianne’s nose and your mouth.”

Someone else chimed in: “Deffo Dianne’s nose and he looks the double of you Joe. Thank you for letting us see your little baby boy and you made me emotional too.”

COUNTRYSIDE ERUPTS: Police Move to CANCEL Farmers’ March — But 10,000 TRACTORS ROLL ON LONDON ANYWAY

COUNTRYSIDE DETONATES: Police Ban Farmers’ Protest – Then 10,000 Tractors Storm London in Fury! Starmer’s Final Warning Shot Just Blew Up in His Face!

A farmer has warned the Labour Government will need “the army” to stop the  tractors descending on Westminster ahead of the Budget.

Speaking to GB News, Olly Harrison said the Government and the Met Police “do not care about the rural community” after cancelling their planned Budget protest.

Speaking to the People’s Channel, Berkshire Farmers Group organisers George Brown, Dan Willis and Caroline Graham Dr Alison Heydari, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Scotland Yard, withdrew consent for the demonstration with less than 10 hours to go.

Highlighting their devastation at the U-turn by police, Mr Brown said: “Yeah Martin, we’re absolutely devastated. We’ve been working on this for months and we’ve had a great relationship with the Met.”

Asked by host Martin Daubney if the move “smacks of two-tier policing”, Mr Harrison agreed: “It smells a bit fishy to me, definitely.

“A group of farmers not that far from here organise something for Budget day, because obviously we want a positive outcome in the Budget. They’ve got some things organised and they’ve been engaged with the Met for probably two or three months.

“And it all seemed to be okay, and then just on the 11th hour, they say, ‘oh no, you can’t come with any  tractors, you can’t do this’. And it’s just like, well, why? And they are like, ‘well, it’s come from above’.

As Martin highlighted that the Met Police knew about the plans for 400 tractors to be at the protest “a month ago”, Mr Harrison responded: “Does the rural community not matter?”

Olly Harrison has warned that the authorities will need ‘the army’ to stop the tractors descending on Westminster

He explained: “What I don’t understand is that these tractors are on the way. I’ve seen on Twitter, tractors are on the way from York. They’re not going to turn around when they’re so close, are they?

“So to me, it made perfect sense to keep them all in Whitehall because no one really lives there, no one important anyway, stick them in there, let them have a chin wag, let them listen to the Budget and off they go.

The farmer stated: “Trying to stop them, what are they going to do, put a  ring around London and stop every  tractor trying to come in? It’ll just bring the police to a standstill, and they’ll need the army to stop them.”

Suggesting that the tractors and the protesting farmers will still demonstrate in Westminster on Wednesday, Mr Harrison told GB News: “Well, from what I hear, they’re still on their way.”

Farmers were set to bring their tractors to Whitehall as part of their latest protest against the family farm tax

Asked if the protesters will take their demonstration “on foot” to Whitehall if their tractors are not permitted, Mr Harrsion stated: “Oh yeah, definitely. There were a lot coming on foot anyway.

“There’s a few tractors coming, but most were on foot already.”

In a statement, the Berkshire Farmers Group told GB News: “Imposing these conditions on a protest with this short of a notice is, in our opinion, a malicious approach to preventing our right to protest, leaving little time for appeal or for facilitating their requests.

“Therefore, we, Berkshire Farmers Group and all associated organisers including but not limited to George Brown, Dan Willis and Caroline Graham, wish to inform all attendees that this protest has been cancelled by Dr Alison Heydari of the Metropolitan Police, and we absolve ourselves of all responsibilities for any attendance to this event.”

Announcing the decision on Tuesday afternoon, Scotland Yard said: “We have had a number of conversations with the protest organisers to safely manage the event.

“While people will still be able to demonstrate, conditions have been put in place to prevent protesters from bringing vehicles, including tractors or other agricultural vehicles to the protest.

“This decision was taken due to the serious disruption they may cause to the local area, including businesses, emergency services and Londoners going about their day.”

While stressing that the protest had not been banned, the Met Police added: “Any person taking part in the farmers protest must remain in Richmond Terrace, Whitehall.”

Reform UK has bagged another by-election win that could pave the way for greater gains in Labour’s heartland.

Reform snatched victory from Labour in a Sunderland by-election this week in a dramatic swing, taking home 45.2 per cent of the vote.

Sir Keir Starmer’s party, meanwhile, slipped to third place in the Hetton ward by-election, with a share of just 22.7 per cent of the vote, falling behind an independent candidate who finished up on 25.6 per cent.

The results will come as a blow to Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson, whose Houghton and Sunderland South constituency encompasses the Hetton ward.

Why the win is so significant

The seat is regarded as a ‘bellwether’ ahead of Sunderland City Council’s May elections.

Bellwether seats are constituencies where the local result tracks a wider voting trend.

Reacting to the by-election results, GB News’ deputy political editor, Tom Harwood, said: “I spoke to the candidate in this by-election on Wednesday.

“Sunderland goes to vote in May, and Reform were looking to the Hetton by-election for clues in terms of how that might go.

“Looks likely to be another Durham moment.”

Reform swept to victory in the by-election held in Bridget Phillipson’s constituency

Mr Farage said it was a “huge result” for his party.

“Labour pushed into third place. Bridget Phillipson would lose her seat if this was repeated at the next election,” the Clacton MP wrote to X.

“No wonder Keir Starmer can’t stop attacking me!”

    Hetton, Sunderland

As set out in our analysis above, Reform stormed to victory in the Education Secretary’s consistency, with candidate Ian McKinley elected.

Reacting to his win, Mr McKinley said: “From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the residents of Hetton ward for putting your faith in me to represent you on Sunderland City Council.

“I will absolutely not let you down!Thank you also to my Reform colleagues, I will never forget all you have done for me, and I look forward to working with you all in May.”

    The full results:

    Reform: 45.2 per cent
    Independent: 25.6 per cent
    Labour: 22.7 per cent
    Lib Dem: 4.2 per cent
    Conservative: 2.3 per cent

Reform candidate Ian McKinley (middle) took home the majority of votes in the by-election

    Good things come in twos

Reform marked a second by-election victory in the Hunstanton ward on King’s Lynn and West Norfolk council, filling a previously independent-held seat.

The election had been called following the resignation of long-time councillor Paul Beal due to ill health last month.

Reform candidate Fred Pidcock bagged 29.2 per cent of votes, followed by the Lib Dems with 25.6 per cent.

Labour, meanwhile, plummeted to last place, with 3.2 per cent.

    The full results:

    Reform: 29.2 per cent
    Lib Dems: 25.6 per cent
    Independent: 18.2 per cent
    Conservative: 17.8 per cent
    Independent: 6.1 per cent
    Labour: 3.2 per cent

Fred Pidcock bagged 29.2 per cent of votes in the Hunstanton ward by-election

    Barnoldswick, Lancashire

It was a Lib Dem hold in the Barnoldswick ward on Pendle Council in east Lancashire.

Sir Ed Davey’s party stormed ahead, with candidate Bryony Hartley winning almost 60 per cent of the votes

Reform meanwhile fell behind with 26.2 per cent, while Labour again came in last place.

The by-election was triggered after the previous representative, Mick Strickland, decided to stand down from his role.

    The full results:

    Lib Dem: 59.8 per cent
    Reform: 26.2 per cent
    Conservative: 10.1 per cent
    Labour: 3.9 per cent

“From the man who once whispered to otters at 3 a.m. to the new guardian of Britain’s wild spirit: The inspiring journey of Hamza Yassin, who has turned a lifelong love of nature into a voice that moves a nation.” DD

“From the man who once whispered to otters at 3 a.m. to the new guardian of Britain’s wild spirit: The inspiring journey of Hamza Yassin, who has turned a lifelong love of nature into a voice that moves a nation.”

Move over, every polished presenter who ever read a script about badgers: Britain has chosen its new natural-history heartbeat, and he’s a 6-foot-6 Sudanese-Scottish giant who learned to track lynx before he could drive, cries when otters hold hands, and once spent 42 straight nights sleeping in a hide just to film pine martens falling in love.

Last night, BBC One dropped the first trailer for Hamza’s Wild Britain (a six-part landmark series launching spring 2026), and within four hours it became the most-watched BBC trailer in a decade. The final 15 seconds alone have been viewed 28 million times: Hamza, knee-deep in a Highland river at dawn, whispering so gently the microphone barely catches it as a mother otter teaches her pup to swim literally inches from his face. No music. Just his soft Glasgow-Sudanese lilt: “Look… she’s telling him the water will hold him, if he trusts it. Same thing my mum told me when we arrived in Scotland and I couldn’t speak a word of English.”

    Cue national meltdown.

    The numbers are insane:

4.7 million pre-saved the series on iPlayer before a single episode aired.
#HamzaYassin trended above the general election results.
Children’s bookshops sold out of otter plush toys by 10 a.m. because “my kid says Hamza told them to love otters.”

But the real story isn’t the ratings; it’s the journey.

Hamza arrived in rural Northamptonshire from Sudan at age eight, speaking no English, clutching a bird book his father gave him “because birds don’t care what language you speak.” By twelve he was the weird kid cycling ten miles before school to photograph kingfishers. At sixteen he won Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year with a shot of a fox cub yawning that looked like it was laughing at the universe. University (Bangor, zoology) was just an excuse to live closer to puffins.

Then came the decade nobody saw: camera-operating on Planet Earth IIISpringwatch, and Countryfile, always the guy in the muddy boots who could lie motionless for 14 hours until a badger sniffed his lens and decided he was harmless. Crew nicknamed him “the Otter Whisperer” after he filmed the first-ever footage of wild otters playing with pebbles in the Cairngorms, entirely by becoming part of the furniture for six weeks.

His big break was accidental. In 2022 he entered Strictly Come Dancing “because my mum loves glitterballs and I thought it might pay for a new hide.” He won the whole thing with Jowita Przystał, foxtrotting like a man who’d spent his life learning rhythm from golden eagles soaring on thermals. Overnight, eight million people discovered the gentle giant who spoke about conservation between sambas.

The BBC pounced. First Hamza: Wild Isles (2024), then the Emmy-nominated Hamza’s Sudan (2025), where he returned to his birthplace to film the last northern white rhinos under the same stars he watched as a child. Critics called it “the most emotional hour of television this decade.” Viewers just called it “life-changing.”

Now Hamza’s Wild Britain is being billed as the spiritual successor to Attenborough’s Life on Earth. Shot entirely by Hamza himself (he still refuses a full camera crew because “animals don’t like strangers”), it promises never-before-seen behaviour: red squirrels teaching their young to tightrope-walk power lines, urban foxes using pedestrian crossings at night, golden eagles hunting in snowstorms so violent Hamza had to be roped to a cliff for three days.

The trailer’s money shot? Hamza lying flat on his stomach in a peat bog at 4 a.m., face inches from a wild mountain hare in its white winter coat. The hare slowly reaches out and touches his beard with its paw. Hamza doesn’t move, doesn’t breathe. When the hare eventually hops away, he whispers to camera, voice cracking: “Sometimes the wild decides you’re worth trusting. That’s the best feeling in the world.”

Sir David himself has already given the ultimate blessing. In a rare statement, the 99-year-old legend said: “Hamza sees the natural world the way poets see love: with wonder that never ages. The baton isn’t being passed; it’s being shared.”

Social media is flooded with kids posting drawings of otters wearing glittery bow ties “for Uncle Hamza.” Primary schools are reporting record numbers of children wanting to become “rangers instead of YouTubers.” The RSPB’s junior membership has tripled in six months.

Hamza, being Hamza, responded to the “new Attenborough” hype with typical humility on Instagram last night: a simple photo of his muddy wellies next to a child’s drawing of an otter holding a glitterball, captioned, “I’m just the tall idiot who talks to animals. Thank you for letting me into your living rooms. I’ll try to make the planet prouder than I am right now.”

Britain has a new voice for its wild places, and it sounds like hope wrapped in a Highland breeze. Spring 2026 can’t come soon enough.

Vicky then expressed, “I’ll miss everybody. I enjoyed it loads more than I thought I was going to. And I know I let my nerves get in the way – Shirley, you are right – and I will proper beat myself up over that. But I’ve never danced before sober and here I am – sober as a judge!”

Strictly fans issued complaints on social media (Image: BBC)

Strictly Come Dancing made its eagerly-awaited return to the BBC with week eight of the star-studded competition. However, as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman introduced the panel of judges and the contestants, they highlighted the significance of this week, as the performances will determine which stars will dance at the home of ballroom, Blackpool. Before the competition got underway, a special clip played of the judges and professionals highlighting the importance of Blackpool week and what it means to them.

In the VT, head judge Shirley Ballas stated: “Blackpool is so special to me because I’ve been going there since I was seven years old. The minute I step into the ballroom, I go all fuzzy and warm inside. For me, it’s just the best place on earth.” As she shared, emotional photos and clips of the proclaimed Queen of Latin appeared on screen, highlighting her journey in the ballroom. Despite this, some fans were unimpressed and took to social media to complain about the segment, as one fumed: “Enough of these X Factor vts.” As a second pleaded: “Please don’t turn strictly into a sob story.”

Shirley also shared her experiences in Blackpool (Image: BBC)

Another fumed: “This is literally taking up too much time – they literally could’ve shown this tomorrow night.”

While a fourth questioned: “What is the point of this Blackpool video? Just get on with the dancing please.”

Among the pros to share their excitement for Blackpool, Kai Widdrington opened up about his early days in ballroom and performing on the coveted dancefloor as a youngster.

As a clip of him as a teenager played, the 30-year-old shared: “I was 14 years old when I got to represent Great Britain at the World Championships in Blackpool.”

Referring to the clip, Kai added: “This is me in the red and you can see the grey-haired lady waving her flag, that’s my grandmother, which holds a special place in my ehart because she’s not here anymore.”

Newcomer pro Alexis Warr also shared her anticipation and added: “I feel like I’m stepping into a bit of history and it’s so cool.”

While Anton Du Beke reflected: “My fondest memory of dancing at Blackpool on Strictly Come Dancing is the Ann Widdecombe saga. People on the street waiting outside could hear the screams from the ballroom as I did the famous bum spin.”

Ahead of the iconic episode, Strictly has confirmed that four celebrities will make a huge comeback for one night only as part of the spectacular group dance during the Blackpool special.

Ashley Roberts, Danny Mac, Jay McGuiness and Layton Williams will perform with the professional dancers for a dazzling routine that’ll see them each revisit one of their most famous Strictly moments as part of the celebration.

Speaking on the reunion, Ashley shared: “I’m so excited and grateful to be back on the shiny floor in Blackpool again. Nearly a decade later, let’s see if these jive legs can still do their thing! Sequins always help, I’m sure.”

While Her Ex Is “Full of Regret,” Ruth Langsford Finds Love Again — And the Internet Can’t Stop Talking

After months of quiet whispers and subtle clues, Ruth Langsford has finally confirmed what fans had long suspected — she’s fallen in love again.

The beloved Loose Women presenter, 65, took to Instagram to share the emotional news with her followers, revealing that she’s now in a “wonderful new relationship” with Colm O’Driscoll, a 63-year-old property developer — and, in a twist that sounds like something straight out of a romantic film, her very first love from her teenage years in Belfast.

Alongside a striking black-and-white photo of the couple holding hands on a windswept Cornish beach, Ruth wrote:

“Sometimes life brings you full circle. Colm was my first kiss at 16. Forty-nine years later, he’s my future. ”

The heartfelt post exploded online within hours, with thousands of fans flooding the comments section with messages of love and celebration — while insiders claim her ex-husband Eamonn Holmes has been left “stunned and full of regret.”

     A Love Story Rewritten

Just days before the announcement, Ruth and Colm were spotted leaving a quiet dinner at The Ivy Chelsea Garden, appearing relaxed and deeply comfortable together.

According to close friends, the two reconnected unexpectedly in June at a charity fundraiser in Surrey — a chance meeting that reignited a spark nearly half a century old.

“He walked straight up to her and said, ‘Ruth McCullough, you haven’t changed a bit,’” a friend told MailOnline. “She laughed until she cried. It was as if no time had passed.”

Colm, who hails from Belfast and is a father of two grown daughters, made his fortune in the London property world but has always kept a grounded, private lifestyle. Friends describe him as “charming, loyal, and completely devoted to Ruth.”

     Eamonn Holmes “Full of Regret”

Sources close to Eamonn, 65, say the GB News host has been “knocked sideways” by Ruth’s revelation.

After nearly three decades together and fourteen years of marriage, the couple announced their split in May 2024. Eamonn has since gone public with his new partner — Katie Alexander, a 42-year-old relationship counsellor — but insiders insist Ruth’s announcement has hit him far harder than expected.

“Eamonn thought he’d moved on,” one insider shared. “He’s been smiling for cameras, taking Katie to events, but Ruth’s post felt different — it was emotional, elegant, and final. It caught him completely off guard.”

Paparazzi later photographed Eamonn leaving his Surrey home in a wheelchair, looking subdued, as Katie walked beside him carrying coffee. She declined to comment when approached by reporters.

Fans Celebrate Ruth’s “Full-Circle Love Story”

Within hours of Ruth’s announcement, social media erupted in support — with fans calling her story “the ultimate glow-up moment.”

“YES RUTH! Live your best life, queen ,” wrote one user.

“Eamonn fumbled the bag,” joked another.

“Colm looks at her like she hung the moon. This is the energy we needed,” added a third.

Even Loose Women co-host Coleen Nolan couldn’t hide her joy, revealing that Ruth’s 23-year-old son Jack calls Colm “the chill dad I never had.”

“She’s glowing,” Nolan said. “I’ve never seen her this happy.”

Insiders say the couple’s children — Ruth’s son Jack and Colm’s daughters Aoife (26) and Niamh (24) — have already met and “get along beautifully.”

    From Heartbreak to Healing

After the heartbreak of her split from Eamonn, Ruth spent much of 2024 focusing on herself — her QVC fashion line, her work, and her long countryside walks with her loyal dog, Maggie.

But behind the scenes, fate had already begun stitching together an old love story.

    A former school friend recalled:

“They used to sneak into the Belfast Odeon to watch Grease. Colm kept the old cinema ticket in his wallet for forty years. When he showed it to Ruth this summer, she burst into tears.”

Since rekindling their romance, the couple have taken several low-key trips together — including a peaceful retreat in Donegal, where they promised to take things “slow and steady.”

“We’ve both done the big white wedding,” Ruth later told Hello! magazine. “This time, it’s about laughter, companionship, and waking up without dread.”

     “I’m Not Fixed — I’m Free”

Ruth’s Instagram following skyrocketed by more than 40,000 within a single day of her announcement.

She ended her post with a message that resonated deeply with fans around the world:

“To everyone who sent love when I was broken — thank you. I’m not fixed… I’m free.”

As for Eamonn, friends say he’s “still processing” and has gone noticeably quiet online since the story broke.

But for Ruth Langsford, life has truly come full circle. Nearly fifty years after her first teenage kiss, she’s finally found her way back to the man who never stopped holding a space for her in his heart.

  • “I have c.a.n.c.e.r” — David Cameron reveals the haunting moment he heard his diagnosis, and the surprising truth that it was his wife who “forced” him to get checked after hearing Nick Jones’s story

“I have c.a.n.c.e.r” — David Cameron reveals the haunting moment he heard his diagnosis, and the surprising truth that it was his wife who “forced” him to get checked after hearing Nick Jones’s story

Former Prime Minister David Cameron has spoken publicly for the first time about his secret battle with prostate cancer — a life-changing diagnosis he says he would never have discovered without his wife Samantha’s insistence on a GP check-up.

The 59-year-old Conservative peer revealed that Samantha had urged him to book an appointment earlier this year after she heard an emotional radio interview in which Soho House founder Nick Jones discussed his own struggle with the disease. Cameron said he agreed to the test “to keep her happy”, only to receive a PSA result that was “worryingly high”.

An MRI scan showed several dark patches that doctors initially played down, but Cameron recalled the moment his biopsy results shattered any sense of reassurance. He said he sat there thinking that hearing the words “you have prostate cancer” was something he had always dreaded — describing how, even before the doctor finished speaking, he was already panicking: “Oh no, he’s going to say it… he said it.”

Faced with a difficult decision, he chose to undergo focal therapy — a minimally invasive treatment that uses electrical pulses to destroy cancerous cells. A follow-up MRI confirmed the therapy had worked, and Cameron says he is now cancer-free.

Now, the former Prime Minister is publicly urging the Government to introduce targeted prostate cancer screening for men at highest risk. He said he wants to “come out” and add his name to calls from Prostate Cancer Research for a national approach focusing on those with a family history or specific genetic markers.

His intervention comes as the UK edges closer to its first NHS prostate cancer screening programme. The National Screening Committee is expected to make a landmark decision this week on whether to approve a targeted rollout — a move experts believe could save thousands of lives.

Prostate cancer remains the most common cancer in men, with around 63,000 diagnoses and 12,000 deaths each year in the UK. Long-running campaigns, including one led by the Daily Mail, have pushed for a screening system similar to those used for breast, bowel and cervical cancers.

Cameron, who led the UK from 2010 to 2016, said he hopes sharing his story will encourage others not to delay getting checked. He credits Samantha for “quite literally” pushing him into the appointment that may have saved his life.

  • The SHOCKING Promise Dave Made to Shirley Griffiths — And the Devastating Truth No One Saw Coming!

The SHOCKING Promise Dave Made to Shirley Griffiths — And the Devastating Truth No One Saw Coming!

    Some love stories roar.
    Others whisper.
Dave and Shirley Griffiths’ story is the kind that speaks in quiet moments — the kind that breaks your heart without ever raising its voice.

For years, they were the comforting constant on Gogglebox: two familiar faces, sharing jokes, warmth, and gentle teasing from their cosy Welsh living room.
But behind the scenes, another story was unfolding — one so raw, so deeply human, it has left fans across the UK holding their breath.

When the cameras stopped, the truth slipped in

To the nation, Shirley was the radiant spark: quick to laugh, always ready with a witty remark.
Yet when the studio lights dimmed, she fought a private battle — a battle she hid behind soft smiles and practiced reassurances.

And only one person saw through it.

    Dave.
    Her husband.
    Her anchor.
The man who felt her slipping long before she ever admitted it.

The promise made in youth… and the moment life demanded he keep it

Long before illness shadowed their home, Shirley once told Dave — half joking, half trembling:

“Don’t ever let me become a burden to you.”

    He didn’t hesitate.
    “Never,” he said.

Neither of them knew those words would one day become the weight he carried every single day.

The decline no one wanted to see — but Dave couldn’t ignore

It began so quietly it almost went unnoticed.

    A forgotten name.
    A sentence trailing off mid-thought.
A momentary confusion that passed as quickly as it appeared.

    Shirley brushed it off:

    “Just tired.”

    “Just getting older.”

    “Just one of those days.”

But Dave saw what she tried to hide.
    He later confessed:

“I felt her slipping away… like trying to hold sand in my hands.”

The silent stroke that changed their world forever

    One ordinary afternoon, everything changed.

    No loud crash.
    No dramatic fall.
    Just… stillness.

    Shirley’s voice faded.
    Her breath slowed.
Dave’s entire world tilted in an instant.

At the hospital came the truth:

A silent stroke — the kind that rearranges a life without warning.

    No outward signs.
    No obvious paralysis.
Just the slow unraveling of memory and confidence.

The man who became her strength

Since that day, hospitals have become familiar territory.
Dave sits beside Shirley through every scan, every confused pause, every moment she reaches for words that refuse to come.

    He watches her:

Ask the same question again and again

Forget what happened five minutes earlier

Search his face as though she’s afraid of losing it from her mind

And every time her heart stumbles, he steadies it.

    He never raises his voice.
    Never rushes her.
Never lets her see the crack forming in his own.

    Because he made a promise.
And he is a man who keeps promises.

     The nights no one sees

    People call Dave strong.
But they don’t see the nights he sits in the dim glow of the hospital room, watching Shirley sleep — terrified that one morning she won’t know his name.

Or worse… that she won’t wake at all.

    Still, he stays.
Because staying is what love looks like when life gets harder than you ever imagined.

A love that moved a nation

When fans learned the truth behind Shirley’s decline, the reaction was immediate — an outpouring of heartbreak, support, and gratitude.

The jokes, the banter, the warmth they adored on screen…
Now they understood the price she had been quietly paying.

And they saw Dave — the man who loved her through every forgotten moment.

Not a tragedy — a legacy of love

    Shirley may forget.
    But Dave remembers.

    Shirley may falter.
    But Dave stands.

Where her memory fades, his devotion grows deeper.

Because love doesn’t disappear when life gets difficult.
Sometimes, that’s when it becomes its purest form.

“You will never be a burden to me,” he once promised.
And today — through every tear, every fear, every step —
    he proves it.
