On May 7, Buckingham Palace announced to the world that King Charles plans to endow Prince William with a prestigious (within the context of honorary and frankly pretend royal honors) military title.

“His Majesty the King will officially hand over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales,” the place decreed. William assumed the title of Prince of Wales when his father ascended to the throne upon Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

 

While “these are my awards, from Army” is fairly par for the course when it comes to the royal family and their titles, there’s one glaring detail. There is someone in line for the throne who actually served in the British military, and it was not William. 

Prince Harry served with distinction

Harry served with the Army Air Corps in Afghanistan. This was not a ceremonial title or a special big boy pin on his chest, but actual normal military service as part of a multinational coalition to combat the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

This title might very well have gone to Harry one day if he and Meghan Markle had not had to step away from royal duties in 2020 in order to protect their family.

According to what an inside source tells In Touch Weekly, “For Harry, it was the ultimate humiliation” for his brother to receive this title.

This was not the only insult to Prince Harry from his royal father

Mere hours ahead of King Charles awarding that title to William, Prince Harry had arrived in London.

His purpose was to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. This sports event exists for wounded soldiers and veterans, and is part of Prince Harry’s legacy.

However, King Charles was supposedly too busy to see Harry during his visit. That would be awkward under any circumstances. With Charles’ cancer battle, it seems downright cruel.

“It’s not stopped him from loving his dad,” the inside source explained. “But has reminded Harry that some things may never be repairable.”

And with reports that King Charles has pancreatic cancer and an estimated two years to live, time is running out to even try to mend fences.

Understandably, the insider added: “Harry is heartbroken and worried he’ll never see his father again.”

Though Charles had previously wanted Harry and William to make amends, reports say that Charles is now the one causing problems and preventing reconciliation.

The reason? Charles is still royally peeved that Harry described his lived experiences in his bestselling memoir, Spare. Particularly sharing his recollections of Camilla, who is now Charles’ queen.

However, ultimately, the ball may be in William’s court. Elizabeth II wasn’t the one who prevented Harry from seeing her on her deathbed. And when it’s Charles’ turn, it’s likely that William will be calling the shots. Either way, by that point, it will be too late.

Harry would like nothing more than to see his dad, but he’s been shut out,” the inside source affirmed of Charles avoiding Harry during his latest visit. “They’re punishing him.” Ouch!

“If his father dies and Harry doesn’t get a chance to see him, it will be another trauma to add to an already long list,” the insider warned. “But it’s naïve of Harry to think Charles will come around and broker reconciliation.”

Speakng to OK! in May, Joe confessed his love for fatherhood, saying he was “addicted to having babies”.

He added: “We’re at number six now. The baby bit goes so fast, and then before you know it, they’re toddlers then you yearn for babies again. We’re slightly addicted to babies it’s so nice to be needed. You think, ‘Six has to be it,’ but I’d never say never. They’re only babies for three or four years before Stacey starts wanting another one, so I have to make the most of it now!”

Joe laughed, but then became serious as he added: “I like to be hands-on. They’re only going to be kids for a short amount of time, so me and Stacey are just trying to make the most of it.”

The midfielder’s 2024 salary stands at $1.8 million (Ksh236,700,001), which is his annual guaranteed compensation, with his basic salary currently standing at $1.44 million (Ksh189,360,000).

Wanyama’s salary is $500,000 (Ksh65,750,000) more than the second highest earner at Montreal, being Venezuelan striker Josef Martinez, who takes home $1.3 million (Ksh172,145,467) both in basic salary

and annual guaranteed compensation, after signing a one-year deal when he joined the Canadian side at the start of the current campaign.

Uruguayan striker Matias Coccaro is the third highest earner at Montreal with a basic annual salary of $800,000 (Ksh105,200,000)

which goes up to $888,000 (Ksh116,772,000) in annual guaranteed compensation.

Wanyama has not enjoyed regular playing time for close to a year now at Montreal but his salary is down to the fact that he is Montreal’s Designated Player.

In the MLS, clubs are given only three Designated Players whose wages are allowed to be greater than the league average.

Wanyama has been the club’s Designated Player since he joined as a free agent from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in March 2020, initially on an annual salary of $3 million (Ksh406,554,212), before he took a massive pay cut while negotiating his current deal that was signed in January 2023.

The Designated Player Rule in MLS was implemented alongside the salary cap regulations ahead of the 2007 season in anticipation of the arrival of former Real Madrid and England star David Beckham at LA Galaxy that summer.

The world now speculates on the intricate details of Romeo and Mia’s newfound independence. The New Year also saw the Beckham family celebrating in their Kensington mansion together. Brooklyn, David Beckham’s eldest son, was notably absent though. However, Romeo, Mia, Cruz, and Harper rang in the new year with David Beckham and Victoria Beckham by their side.

According to sources, a close friend of the Beckhams also disclosed the sentiments of the power couple. They expressed how they ‘miss their children terribly’ and they joke about ’empty nest syndrome.’ With Romeo Beckham’s move, all three older Beckham children have flown the nest, leaving 12-year-old Harper as the only companion for the iconic couple.

While Cruz and Brooklyn Beckham have found their paths in Los Angeles, USA, Romeo has embarked on a new start with Mia Regan. The question that remains now in everybody’s mind is: What’s next for the Beckham legacy? Only time will tell.

Victoria and David Beckham are enjoying a dream family holiday in Florida, but are “missing” Brooklyn and Romeo.

The former Spice Girls star and the ex England captain treated their two youngest children Cruz, 17, and Harper, 11, to a trip to Disney World.

The family shared a slew of sweet snaps from their trip, including Posh and Becks cuddling up to Minnie Mouse and Harper meeting Elsa and Olaf from Frozen.

Taking to Instagram, the couple, who earlier this year celebrated 23 years of marriage, shared videos and photos from their time inside the magical kingdom.

Captioning her post, Victoria wrote: “Kisses from Disney World!!!

I love you @davidbeckham @cruzbeckham #harperseven missing you @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham “

Sharing more photos from their trip, David penned: “Special Memories @disney we missed you @romeobeckham & @brooklynpeltzbeckham..

In some of the videos, Harper can be seen incredibly excited over the parade, whilst Cruz looks less impressed. Another sees Harper react to being on the Splash Mountain ride alongside her footballer dad and big brother.

“Oh my god, oh my god,” Cruz can be heard saying, whilst Harper screamed all the way down.

Missing out on the family holiday, Brooklyn, 23, and wife Nicola Peltz, 27, enjoyed their own day out as they headed to a pumpkin farm in the states. Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the Bates Motel actress shared a snap of her husband pulling a wheelbarrow.

“Family day out @brooklynpeltzbeckham,” Nicola gushed. Another image showed the couple’s new dog, Lamb.

This comes after reports emerged that the budding chef and his model wife would be missing Christmas at the Beckhams for the second year in a row, despite reconciling at Victoria’s Paris fashion show. Rumours of a long-standing heated feud between the two were seemingly crushed when the family put on a united front for Posh’s big day.

However, a source has came forward and claimed the truce was only temporary and a case of “playing nice” while the cameras were on them. An insider told Heat magazine that the Paris truce helped in part but has now made the situation more complicated as the US actress now feels she’s “done her part” and so the Beckhams “owe her one”.
