Incredible sum Buckingham Palace would be worth if King Charles ever put it up for sale

It might not be for sale but Buckingham Palace could sell for an eye-watering amount should the King ever choose to sell.

How much do you think Buckingham Palace could sell for? With just renovations alone costing £369m over ten years, you can take a guess at the value of the royal property.

If King Charles ever decided to sell the poperty, he could find himself one of the richest men in the world. That’s because, according to the experts, he is sitting on an asset worth £1bn.

Estate agents Purplebricks has estimated the price of several prestiguious buildings in the UK, including the royal palace.

The property valuations were calculated through analysing the square footage, locations, and building features.

Consdering Buckingham Palace has 775 bedrooms, 19 state rooms and can accomodate 30,000 guests, not to mention plenty of pets, you can see why the property would be worth so much.

While the Palace is going through renovations, the King and Queen Consort are staying in another property, Clarence House, but if they sold their official residence, they could pocket £1.25bn.

The property was finished in 1705 by John Sheffield who became the Duke of Buckingham and gave it his name.

It had not been intended as a royal palace, but was taken over by Queen Victoria in 1837 after which it stayed in the monarchy.

Though most of us have not seen the interiors, the palace offers perfectly positioned balconies, stunning views of The Mall and St James’ Park.

All that grandeur also comes with armed security guards of course and wall-to-wall surveillance cameras.

If Buckingham Palace was to be sold upwards of £1bn, it would make the sum more than four times the price of Britain’s most expensive home.

Put up for sale last year, the 40-bed Georgian mansion in the centre of Regent’s Park was put on the market for £250million by its Saudi Arabian prince owner.

Other famed landmarks on Purplebricks’ list include Somerset House, valued at £481.1million, Windsor Castle with a £269.9million price tag were it marketed today, Ediburgh Castle valued at £146.9million, and Westminster Abbey at £49.1m.

Like the other castles on the list, Westminster Abbey is steeped in royal history, being the resting place for thirty royals including 13 kings, four queens regnant and 11 queens consort.

Lisa Maffia calls Loose Women star a ‘rude a**hole’ and ‘worst celeb she’s met’

21 seconds and Women of the World hitmaker Lisa Maffia appeared on the Livin’ Lavida Loca podcast as she called out a panellist from ITV’s Loose Women

One Loose Women star seemingly rubbed up 21 seconds songstress Lisa Maffia the wrong way, with the singer branding them “a rude a**hole”.

The Women of the World hitmaker has called out former ITV star Carol McGiffin, saying she was “rude” and that her relationship with a younger man “went to her head”. Appearing on the Livin’ Lavida Loca podcast, Lisa slammed Carol in a scathing minutes-long segment.

Asked who the “worst celebrity she’s met and why”, musician Maffia replied: “Oh, I know this one. Her name is… what is her frigging name? She’s rude you know? She was one of the original panelists on Loose Women, such an a–hole. Was her name Caroline?”

Lisa continued: “She had… she was old, short bob, grey, blondish hair. She had a young boyfriend. So she had really short cropped sort of hair, and she went and started dating some, like, really young guy, and it kind of went to her head. I had to check her.”

The social media show’s host Lavida Loca asked Lisa if she was talking about the former ITV presenter Carol McGiffin as she replied: “Yeah. That’s it, McGriffin or Griffin, little flippin’ gruff, billy goat gruff. Nah, she was rude. I will tell you as it is, don’t try me.”

Her mention comes after Carol quashed the swirling rumours about her making a comeback to the ITV daytime staple, dismissing it as “that little job”. Fans have been clamouring for her return, lamenting that “it’s not the same without you”, yet Carol has dashed any hopes of her embarking on a third run. The telly veteran was a mainstay on the Loose Women panel from 2000 to 2013 and made a celebrated return from 2018 to 2023.

Her departure sparked controversy when she revealed feeling “forced” out. Over the last year, she’s opened up about her tough exit, expressing sadness over parting ways with colleagues like Nadia Sawalha and Denise Welch: “I feel quite upset about it, if I’m honest, because although it is my decision, I felt like it was one I was being forced to make. No one in their right mind would have signed that contract and I can’t see a way back from it.”

Despite putting an end to the comeback chatter, Carol hints she’s not hanging up her hat just yet. To her 154,000 Instagram fans, she teased that she’s not “totally retired yet”. In a nod to transparency, Carol took to Instagram to plug her very own podcast.

“Apparently, some people are missing me,” she said, adding: “Not because I haven’t been on here for ages but because I’m not on that daytime ITV show I used to do, Loose Women. Sadly that little job isn’t coming back but I’m not totally retired yet.”

Carol has been keenly promoting her podcast, telling her followers: “I’m still doing this podcast which is called ‘What’s Your Problem With Nick Abbot and Carol McGiffin? ‘ and it’s available on most podcast outlets. We’ve been doing it for over four years and quite a lot of people like it! Go on, give it a go! You might enjoy it and you might even laugh.”

In a candid chat with Best magazine last year, Carol explained her reason for leaving. She explained, “The problem was, ITV were insisting, for the first time since I went back in 2018, that if I wanted to carry on doing the show, I would have to sign a contract that was totally unjust and unworkable for me, so I had to say ‘no thanks’.”

$11M Vanishes: Archewell Faces Bankruptcy as Meghan Markle Struggles

Multiple sources are now reporting that the Archewell Foundation, co-founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has filed for bankruptcy.  O…

Multiple sources are now reporting that the Archewell Foundation, co-founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has filed for bankruptcy.

Over $1 million in donations appears to have gone missing from the nonprofit’s accounts, leaving the organization in significant financial trouble. We’ll break down the explosive allegations and new details surrounding this developing story.

In April 2020, shortly after stepping down as senior working royals, Harry and Meghan announced the formation of Archewell. They described the name as a combination of the Greek word for action and the concept of goodwill.

Through Archewell, the couple aimed to promote compassion and community building, launching partnerships with various organizations focused on racial justice, gender equity, climate change, mental health, and more. Donations poured in from around the world as the public supported Harry and Meghan’s post-royal endeavor.

However, it appears that things went terribly wrong with the foundation’s finances. Just last week, Archewell filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in California, citing debts exceeding $10 million while only having around $100,000 in available assets.

The bankruptcy filings indicate that potential litigation is expected from creditors seeking to recoup lost funds. This news has sent shockwaves through the philanthropic community, with people questioning where all the donation money went.

According to financial documents obtained by TMZ, not a single listed project or partnership of Archewell ever seemed to receive the funds allocated for them, despite millions being donated for these specific programs and causes. Red flags began to emerge last fall when partner organizations complained that they had not received the promised funding from Archewell.

When questioned, foundation representatives provided vague excuses, citing delays due to COVID-19 and the process of setting up the new nonprofit. Now, organizations are threatening legal action if they do not receive answers and their funds.

One individual close to the situation, who wished to remain anonymous, remarked that it is evident no one truly understood what was happening with the donations. It seems no proper financial controls were put in place. The situation takes a more shocking turn with sources indicating that Meghan Markle herself may be included as a defendant in the expected litigation.

Reports suggest that she was very hands-on in overseeing Archewell’s finances and directing fund allocations. Emails obtained by a law firm preparing a class action suit against Archewell and its leadership reportedly show Meghan personally discussing large transfers of money.

When asked for comment, representatives for the Sussexes insisted that Meghan had nothing to do with the missing funds and was merely an unpaid advisor to Archewell, not responsible for its finances.

However, with so much money unaccounted for, questions arise about her role in the oversight of the foundation. This has led to speculation about potential conspiracy theories, including embezzlement or donations being funneled into Harry and Meghan’s personal lifestyle expenses. It is important to note that none of these theories have been proven at this point.

The allegations are serious enough that the couple may find themselves embroiled in a massive legal quagmire. If true, this scandal would represent a dramatic fall from grace for Harry and Meghan, who could face accusations of fraud and mismanagement in an American courtroom. This situation could also further strain their already fractured relationship with the royal family.

The timing of this fiasco is particularly unfortunate, coming just months after the couple signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify, valued at over $100 million.

The stain of missing Archewell donations threatens to taint their brand and business partnerships, as well as damage their goals of establishing themselves as global humanitarian leaders. The star power and public goodwill they have cultivated are at risk of being overshadowed by allegations of financial negligence and deception.

As for Meghan, questions are being raised about whether her royal title is still appropriate or if she retains the prestige of being a duchess while facing fraud accusations.

Reports suggest that British tabloids are already publishing scathing headlines, with one tabloid even dubbing her the “Duchess of Deception.” Clearly, this scandal has significantly tarnished her reputation on both sides of the Atlantic.

Prince Harry felt King Charles would be keen to move on from a troubled few years claims royal expert

Prince Harry felt his father, King Charles, would be keen to move on from a troubled few years and “forgive him” claims a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, however, remain geographically distant in Los Angeles, along with their two children Archie, five and Lilibet, three, since stepping down as senior working royals in 2020.

Royal expert Tom Quinn who penned ‘Scandals of the Royal Palaces: An Intimate Memoir of Royals Behaving Badly’, told the Mirror: “Despite all his criticisms Harry always assumed he would be forgiven by his father. He thought Charles would make amends for the hurt that, in Harry’s view, justified the criticisms.”

In January 2023, the Duke of Sussex shocked the world when he published his memoir, Spare, which featured allegations against the Royal Family. The book went on to become the fastest-selling non-fiction book in British history, shifting more than 400,000 copies in the UK in one day alone.

    Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Another royal author, Ingrid Seward, thinks if the Duke of Sussex publishes another book he will leave the memoir writing to his wife. She said: “I can’t see that Harry’s up for writing another book. I would think the other book, the real corker, would be Meghan. That’s got to be [on its way] because that’s really going to be the only way she’s going to make serious money is [to write it].”

As reported in the Mirror, the monarch is said to be “filled with horror” at another idea that Harry’s wife Meghan Markle could write a personal memoir and Harry could contribute to it.

It seems the King has not seen his grandchildren through his son and Harry’s wife Meghan for over two years, and there are reportedly no signs of hope he will in the near future.

Tom explained: “Despite Harry’s attacks on the royal family his father has avoided responding by attacking his son publicly, but privately, King Charles is furious. So much so that he is now refusing to take calls from his son.”

    King Charles and Queen Camilla

King Charles has reportedly stopped picking up calls from Harry (Image: Getty)However, royal expert Robert Jobson has now weighed in on the reason King Charles may have stopped responding to calls from his youngest son, as he told The Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast: “He has taken them in the past, but I think anybody that knows the situation, who would want to keep taking calls if the conversation just ends in a slanging match about money and legal fees?”

Doubling down on the specific reason the King isn’t ready to play ball with his son’s attempts at reconciliation, Robert added: “I think the King has got too much on his plate. He’s been not well at all and he’s been dealing with that.

“He’s only just become the King, he’s got too much to deal with, rather than dealing with Harry’s constant demands.”

King Charles is undergoing treatment following his cancer diagnosis earlier this year. It is understood Harry last saw his father after his diagnosis was made public and he visited him in February at Clarence House during a solo quick visit back to the UK.

ITV Lorraine host Christine Lampard was left red-faced when she handed over to This Morning presenters Dermot O’Leary and Rochelle Humes live on-air and discovered the women had made a bit of a fashion blunder.

During Tuesday’s episode of ITV’s Lorraine show, Christine took on hosting duties as regular presenter Lorraine Kelly has taken an extended holiday over the summer. Throughout the show, the TV star, 45, was joined by a number of guests as she discussed the week’s trending stories from Love Island winners to Strictly Come Dancing rumoured line-up.

Towards the end of the show, Christine was joined by Rochelle and Dermot on a video link as she gave viewers a glimpse of what they can expect on This Morning. Things turned a little awkward as Dermot couldn’t help but point out that the pair were wearing similar tops.

Another echoed the sentiment: “TBH they might as well rename it Christine for as long as she’s presenting! Imagine the opening credits..”

ITV Loose Women star claps back after being tipped to star in Strictly Come Dancing

Janet Street-Porter was the latest celebrity tipped to join Strictly’s upcoming season and as Sunetra Sarker kicked off another Loose Women instalment, the panellist spoke out.

Many celebrities have been rumoured to star in Strictly Come Dancing’s upcoming season but Janet Street-Porter was surprised to hear she was one of them.

Sunetra Sarker filled in for Kaye Adams once again and kicked off this Tuesday’s (July 30, 2024) Loose Women instalment with a huge announcement as she told the live studio audience that the journalist, 77, will be strutting onto the BBC One dancefloor.

But the rumour was quickly cast aside as Sunetra added: “Or is she?”, before addressing the TV star herself. Janet bluntly cleared things up as she recalled how she’d found out she was rumoured to star in Strictly, during a phone call with her friend, Ruth Langsford. But the rumour was quickly cast aside as Sunetra added: “Or is she?”, before addressing the TV star herself. Janet said: “No. I was on my way to hospital this morning to have a painkiller injection in my hip, because I’ve just been told I have to have a hip replacement.”

Remembering her conversation with Ruth, who has taken another break from Loose Women, Janet added: “I just went: ‘sorry, not true.’ (…) Unless there’s a competition called Strictly Arm Dancing!”

Previous reports claimed that the full Strictly 2024 line-up had been leaked ahead of a major announcement from the Beeb. Familiar faces in the likes of Hannah Waddingham and Nick Knowles were previously rumoured to be competing later this year.

However, the supposed list, shared in a private Instagram story, included Blue’s Duncan James, Tracy Beaker Returns’ Kia Megg, Dame Laura Kenny, Outnumbered’s Tyger Drew-Honey and This morning’s Gyles Brandreth, among others.

Hearing that he was also tipped to appear on Strictly, Jordan North also responded to the claims in a recent chat on Capital FM with Kemi Rodgers and Chris Stark.

Kemi launched the discussion, saying: “Jordan we’ve seen a rumour, it’s been doing the rounds on TikTok, I’m going to come out and say it. Are you doing Strictly Come Dancing?”

Jordan first coyly replied: “There’s a lot of rumours for these ones, before I started on Capital, a lot of people saying I was going to do Big Brother. I can’t confirm or deny.”

He then added: “If I say to you right now ‘I’m not doing it’ you’ll like ‘ohhhh you’re definitely doing it aren’t you!’ (…) It’s just better to say I can’t confirm nor deny.” Before joking: “If I was on Strictly I would constantly look like I was constipated, it would be awful.”

Jordan then denied: “I’m honestly not doing it but no one will believe me anyway. I can’t dance for toffee, I have no rhythm, the only dance I can dance to, confidently, is a Cha-Cha-Slide. Because they tell you what to do. One hop this time…left right food stomp, right foot left stomp.”

The late queen might have given it a cutesy name, but the diamonds on the brooch are some of the most valuable in the world.

We don’t think of Queen Elizabeth having nicknames for her accessories but it seems some of her jewels had an extra special place in the late monarch’s heart.

Queen Elizabeth had one particular item that she loved so much, she gave it a cute nickname – a stunning diamond brooch that’s considered to be the world’s most valuable.

The stunning item has sentimental value too, having been passed from generation to generation, and been gifted to her from her grandmother, Queen Mary.

The gift inspired Her Majesty to call the brooch ‘granny’s chips’ and considering it was a family heirloom, Queen Elizabeth only wore it a handful of times during her 70-year reign.

The diamonds on the brooch have a deep and fascinating history too, being cut from the Cullinan – named after the South African mine in which it was discovered in 1905 and now forms the centrepiece of the Crown Jewels.

Granny’s chips’ might have got its nickname for being a gift from Queen Mary or be a sign of the Queen’s dry sense of British humour, referencing the small diamonds in the brooch in comparison to the much larger diamonds cut from the Cullinan.

The one-of-a-kind Cullinan – the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found – weighed in at an incredible 3106 carats (or 621.35 grams).

In comparison, the diamonds on the brooch, The Cullinan III and Cullinan IV, weigh 94.4 and 63.6 carats, respectively.

The diamond has a royal past too, as it was presented to King Edward VII as a symbolic gesture to help mend relations between Britain and South Africa after the Boer War.

The diamonds are considered to have the best characteristics desired in rough stones, clarity and clear white colour. Owing to their nature, there are many legends connected to the Cullinan, including that a man assigned to cutting the diamond fainted when he first cleaved it.

Queen Mary wore the Cullinan III and Cullinan IV diamonds for her coronation in 1911 and ahead of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, they were handed down to her when she was aged just 27.

Ruth Langsford proudly shares relationship status as sexy singleton with cheeky photo

Ruth Langsford has cemented her status as a single woman and will definitely be catching the eyes of her followers after treating them to a rather racy snap

Ruth Langsford has proudly revealed she’s single and could be on the lookout for love.

The Loose Women star, 64, announced in May that she and her estranged husband Eamonn Holmes, also 64, had started divorce proceedings. They had been married for 14 years but had been together since 1997, sharing one child, a son, Jack. But while Eamonn has reportedly been seeking comfort from a friend he met on social media, Ruth’s life has remained very quiet.

Now, she has taken to social media and hinted that she could be ready to look for love again, almost two months after announcing her split from Eamonn. Taking to Instagram in view of her 1.1 million followers, the telly star revealed she had been soaking up the sun in her sprawling garden as temperatures almost hit 30 degrees.

Sharing a snap on her Instagram Stories, Ruth appeared to be sipping on a nice cold drink from a Love Island cup which she held between her bare legs. Captioning her upload, Rith penned: “@loveisland merch!! What a beautiful day it’s been.” Ruth’s Love Island cup had her name written on it, the same way Islanders in the villa use theirs.

Her post comes after she appeared to hit out at her estranged husband. Over the past few months, it has become clear there is one major issue of contention they’ll struggle to agree on – who will get their beloved dog Maggie? Ruth has been keeping fans updated on their pooch’s health as some have become concerned over her absence on Eamonn’s account.

Maggie, who is 14-years-old, recently had a procedure at the vet to remove a growth. Ruth shared a video earlier this month of Maggie with a shaved back after the operation. She has since shared a sweet photo of the pup to her followers as she enjoyed the sun.

Alongside a snap of Maggie sunbathing on a patio, Ruth wrote: “She always finds the BEST sunbathing spot! My little grey faced girl!” It came just two days after Eamonn issued a message about Maggie to his followers. He shared a photo cuddling Maggie and said: “A lot of you wondering about Maggie. She’s had an op to remove a growth. All well . Not bad for a 14 year old ! In fact she’s in better shape than me.”

Fans thanked Eamonn for the update but urged him to look after himself, with one commenting: “Maggie is beautiful Eamon but please do look after yourself also I hope your notability improves it’s hard to keep an Irish man down.” While another wrote: “Lovely pic Eamon and so pleased Maggie is well love her our fur babies are family hope you’re doing well too living in pain is awful so sending u lots of well wishes.”

In their second television interview on American soil since their explosive 2021 conversation with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex discussed a new initiative aimed at safeguarding children from online abuse.

The interview, aired on CBS with Jane Pauley, follows the recent launch of their ‘Parents Network’, designed to assist parents in protecting their children from cyber abuse.

Since their contentious departure from the Royal Family and relocation to the US in 2020, the Sussexes had anticipated a warmer reception stateside, despite their Oprah interview causing a stir on both sides of the Atlantic.

Although initially well-received in America, the ex-Royals have seen their popularity decline recently. They faced further backlash last month when Prince Harry accepted the ESPY Pat Tillman Award.

The decision sparked public outrage and criticism from Pat Tillman’s mother, who expressed her frustration to the Daily Mail, saying she felt “shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award”.

However, Telegraph columnist Celia Walden suggests that the couple may have scored a significant victory with their latest move, believing they are sincere in their efforts to combat online abuse through their Archewell charity campaign.

Meghan spoke out about the dire consequences of online abuse, urging people to consider it from a parental perspective: “What if it was my daughter, what if it was my son who comes home, who I love, and one day, right under my roof, our entire lives change because of something that was completely out of our control?

“And if you look at it through the lens of a parent, there is no other way to see that than to try to find a solution.”

The interview received immediate praise from social media users, with one commenting: “Having endured more bullying than most, Harry and Meghan truly understand the importance of their project.”

Another user expressed support by saying, “I applaud them for using their spotlight for good”.

It might feel like Swift fever has hit the nation as Taylor Swift returns this month for her final Eras tour dates. But one royal might not be there at the event.

Princess Kate, who has paused royal engagements due to her health status, has not openly come out as a Swiftie but has been vocal about a different singer.

The Princess of Wales has shown her enthusiasm for singer Ellie Goulding who even performed during Kate and Prince William’s first dance as man and wife.

The Love Me Like You Do singer was the headline act at the glittering wedding reception and sang Elton John’s “Your Song”, in front of a star-studded audience including Sir Elton John himself, David and Victoria Beckham, Rowan Atkinson and more.

Since the wedding in 2011, Kate has gone on to attend other events featuring Ellie Goulding and gushed about the star’s talent.

In December 2021, during the height of the pandemic, Kate hosted Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, where Ellie Goulding made another appearance.

The event was reminscent of Kate and William’s wedding as it was hosted in Westminster Abbey where they exchanged their wedding vows.

At the festive event, Ellie sang “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” as Kate and William shared sweet smiles.

And clearly she has royal connections as the British singer is close friends with William’s cousin Princess Eugenie.

The songstress, 34, previously opened up about singing Elton John’s “Your Song” at the royals’ reception and her surprise at being the headliner.
