The former pop-star also revealed in the documentary how fashion brought her and her husband, David Beckham together.

She told the camera: ‘When I first met David in 1997, he’d heard that I was the Spice Girl that liked the designer clothes.

‘So after me going to a couple of football matches – I would say I was pursuing him, he’d probably say it was me stalking him – we arranged to go out on a date together.

‘He thought, “She’s the one who likes designer clothes,” and so he actually went out and bought himself a full Prada look for our first date to impress me. Which it did.’

In the revealing six-part series, Kate Moss opened up about the abuse she received by worried mothers.

The supermodel, 50, who became the poster girl for the trend in the Nineties, said that people would approach her in the street and accuse her of promoting eating disorders.

She told the Disney+ documentary: ‘Parents would come up to me and say, “My daughter’s anorexic”. It was awful.

‘I think because I was just skinny, and people weren’t used to seeing skinny. But if I’d been more buxom, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. It’s just that my body shape was different from the models before me.’

The documentary also speaks to former Vogue editors including Edward Enninful and celebrities such as supermodel Naomi Campbell, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker.

It also features designer Stella McCartney who revealed the advantage she had being the daughter of The Beatles star Paul.

Describing her graduation show from Central St Martin’s fashion school in London, Stella  recalled: ‘All the other students were choosing their models, then they were getting their mates. I had mates, but my mates were the supermodels.

‘I was like, ‘Everyone’s gonna hate me if I do that…’ but life’s too short, and they were genuinely my mates. Those girls were the hottest girls on the planet. They were doing every show in every city, and they did a little college fashion show, for me. That was amazing.’

‘But I remember touching my toes and stretching up in it, and nothing moved, so I galloped down the stairs and that was that.’

She adds: ‘The next day we were on the front page of every newspaper and I’m like, “What the hell is this?”.

    Diana tears up Galliano’s gown

British designer John Galliano’s first couture client was Princess Diana.

He dressed her for the New York Met Gala in 1996 in a silk dress with negligée trim.

Vogue called it ‘her most unroyal look to date’.

But John has now revealed Diana took the dress apart, transforming the look.

He says: ‘Everything was correct in the fittings, then it got to the event and I remember her getting out the car. I was shocked.

‘She’d ripped the corset, she didn’t want to wear it. She felt so liberated that she tore the corset up, and the cameras went mental.’

Inside Princess Diana’s secret dance lessons: Ex-instructor reveals heartbreaking moment that left the royal crying on the studio floor

Princess Diana is remembered to the world as a doting mother, glamorous activist and an international icon.

However, what many don’t know about the blonde beauty is that she was also a dancing queen.

In 1981, Anne Allan, a ballet dancer with the London City Ballet, received a shocking request: to teach the Princess of Wales how to pirouette.

What followed was nine years of secret sessions that saw the Princess and Anne forming a close bond, with Diana divulging every aspect of her private life – including her rocky marriage and her battle with an eating disorder.

Now, the dancer who guided the Princess through her most difficult years has released an explosive memoir titled, Dancing With Diana, that tells all there is to know about the secrets the royal spilled and her heartbreaking moments.

In a copy of the tell-all shared with DailyMail.com, which was released on September 10, Anne recalled how her classes became an outlet for Diana’s deepest struggles and how the cracks in her marriage affected her.

During her first dance lesson, Anne was touched by Diana’s wonderful personality, which was apparent when she insisted her instructor refer to her by her first name and not ‘Your Royal Highness.’

Throughout their classes together, Diana is said to have cried, laughed and celebrated as she threw on a black leotard and pink tights, and twirled the duties of a Royal out of her mind.

However, the problems at the palace soon became too overwhelming for a ballet number to solve.

And so Anne found her new pal crying on the studio floor as she revealed that her marriage with Charles was coming apart at the seams – and it was due to another woman.

The Princess of Wales had previously told her dance teacher about her husband and her desperate desire to make him happy.

‘I do love him so and want to make him happy and to be proud of me as his wife,’ Anne recalled Diana telling her.

Her comments cut deeper when within a short matter of time, Anne found the Princess of Wales in a fit of tears as she was overcome with emotion.

As tears streamed down her face, Diana told her dance teacher: ‘You must think me awful.’

According to Anne, Diana said that the ‘establishment’ found her difficult before revealing that her husband had been having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles – now Queen Camilla.

She claimed Diana said: ‘I know he is seeing Camilla again. Am I expected to accept that, like the other Princesses of Wales before, one just turns a blind eye to husbands having a mistress! Why does he not love me? I really don’t understand. I have tried everything, I tried to conform to his wishes even though I don’t always agree.

‘There is no affection between us, and I am always on my own. I just want to be loved. I can’t keep going on like this. They are really expecting me to just say nothing and keep going? How do I do that?!’

Despite her growing sadness towards Charles’ affair, she continued to dance, ensuring it not get in the way.

Anne writes that Diana wanted nothing more than her husband to see what she was ‘capable’ of and to be ‘proud’ of her.

However, as the Princess of Wales graduated from plain leotards and ballet shoes to colorful outfits and jazz shoes, her issues outside of the studio only grew.

Following a lesson, Diana dropped onto the floor and couldn’t contain herself, tears began flowing out of her and pure sadness took over her body.

The dance teacher recalled that Diana cried: ‘I just don’t know what to do, Anne. I find myself in an unbearable situation. I haven’t seen Charles for weeks and he doesn’t want to talk to me. I thought he come back to me, and we could work things out. How do I go on when I’m not wanted?’

Despite her heartache at the situation, Diana felt like she had to hold on to Charles – desperately clinging to the hope that her husband would come back to her.

Anne said that Diana felt she had no other choice but to stay with him as she didn’t want to break up her family or have her sons, William and Harry, see their love story come to an end.

‘Keeping my family together is the most important thing to me,’ Diana added, according to Anne.

During each of their lessons, the Princess of Wales repeatedly told her dance instructor of her heartache and her frantic attempts to make Charles happy.

She once told Anne that she had set up a picnic in Charles’ favorite garden in hopes that the two of them would have some alone time to rekindle their love affair.

However, when he saw the table outside, he dropped Diana’s hand and demanded a butler take everything inside because he ‘doesn’t eat outside,’ Anne recalled.

The Princess explained that although the pair put on a loved-up display for the press, they were becoming unhappier each day.

‘We manage to put on a good official front, but it’s getting more and more difficult, as I find it very hard to not show how I feel if I am upset.  Charles seems to want us to lead separate lives. Anne, he runs off to Camilla whenever he can. It’s not at all what I want,’ the instructor recalled Diana as saying in her memoir.

‘I’d the marriage to work, but it just isn’t for now. Do I just put up with it, hoping he will change?

‘All I want is to be with Charles and be loved by him, there’s just emptiness now.’

She also described the moment she confronted Camilla at a 1980s party.

Diana explained that while mingling, she noticed Camilla and Charles were missing so she went upstairs.

She found the pair chatting in a room along with another group of men.

The Princess of Wales asked everyone – including Charles – to exit the room so she could have a word with Camilla.

According to Anne, Diana told her: ‘Camilla, I’d just like you to know that I know exactly what’s going on. I know what’s going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that.’

Camilla apparently replied: ‘You’ve got everything you’ve ever wanted. All the men in the world fall in love with you. You’ve got two beautiful children. What more could you want?’

‘I want my husband,’ the Princess said, according to Anne.

Following her exchange with Camilla, Diana told Anne that she had confronted her husband’s mistress.

‘I did it, I did it, Anne! I feel a tremendous shift, Anne, in myself,’ she said, her instructor wrote in her memoir.

Anne wrote that the Princess of Wales had revealed that she and Charles had driven home together from the party and that ‘he was all over me like a little boy who has done something wrong and is wanting back in your good books.’

However, the joy was only temporary, and Diana and Charles announced their separation on December 9, 1992, after having been married for 15 years.

Although Diana’s love life was heavy on her mind, her dance instructor revealed that it wasn’t the only thing that weighed on her.

The daily pressure from the Royal Family, her duties as a Princess and the constant attention from the press had drove her to develop an eating disorder.

She had previously told Anne that the press had been tormenting her – adding that she never felt good in enough while in the public eye.

‘I feel sure they are all just waiting on me to make more mistakes,’ Diana explained, according to Anne.

And as the attention surrounding her failed marriage grew, Anne said she noticed Diana had becoming worrisomely thin.

One day, the Princess broke down as she admitted she had been suffering from bulimia, an eating disorder in which people make themselves throw up the food they eat.

‘I am so ashamed, Anne, but I need to tell you that I suffer from bulimia. I am so sorry I haven’t been able to admit it to you, until now,’ she said, according to Anne.

The Princess of Wales revealed that her eating disorder began when she started to attend important dinners.

She was so nervous that she couldn’t keep her food down. When the evening ended, she would go home and throw up.

Diana explained that meeting people and striving to be so perfect overwhelmed her so that she would often resort to making herself throw up in an effort to ’empty herself’ of her food and emotions.

Anne supported Diana through her journey to healing, becoming increasingly angry when she thought about whether the ‘establishment’ knew about this.

Anne and Diana’s working relationship came to an end in 1989, when Anne moved to Scotland.

Although their contact faded over the years, Anne was devastated to hear about her friend’s tragic death in 1997.

She revealed that she was attending a work event in Toronto when she heard of Diana’s death on the news.

Anne wrote:  ‘Her life ended on August 31, 1997. Like the rest of the world, I was in total shock. My first cohesive thoughts were of William and Harry. How do you tell two young people that they are never going to see their mother again? I sobbed for them. I also wept for Charles, who would suffer deeply, regardless of the divorce. The circumstances of the death were horrendous.

‘On the day of her funeral, I joined millions of other people from around the world in watching the service and procession on television.

‘Afterwards, I held my own private vigil at home, surrounding myself with candles, flowers, and Diana’s dance photos and letters.’

Prince Harry at 40: Called Henry only when he was very naughty (quite often), how the cheeky Duke of Sussex endeared himself to millions… before marriage changed everything, writes royal expert CHARLES RAE

The Duke of Sussex was a cuddly child who was fearless and mischievous even at a young age.

Prince Henry Charles Albert David – the second son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana – was born weighing 6lb 14oz, at 4.20pm on September 15, 1984.

He made his first public appearance the following day on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London, wrapped in a white shawl in his mother’s arms.

It was made clear by his father that the newborn would be known as Harry – except of course when he was very, very naughty.

So that meant that his full name was used quite often by his parents.

Harry set his own rules, as proven by the then six-year-old telling his brother William:  ‘You’ll be King. I won’t. So, I can do what I want!’

40 times Harry made us smile as he celebrates milestone birthday

And he made the most of it.

Harry’s cheeky sense of humour and happy-go-lucky nature made him instantly lovable.

Diana’s former chef Darren McGrady recalled how Harry tried to trick him into giving him and William pizza for an evening meal.

It’s no secret that Wills and Harry, who he described as ‘royal princes but with children’s’ palates,’ were partial to the odd bit of fast food.

American-style foods like loaded potato skins, baby-back BBQ ribs, and pizza were apparently among Harry’s firm favourites.

Princess Diana would take them down to Sticky Fingers near Kensington High Street for a treat, McGrady said in 2018.

But their nannies at Kensington Palace — who used to decide on the princes’ menu — were not always as keen to indulge the boys with their favourite foods.

Instead, they often opted for traditional roast meat and lots of healthy greens like broccoli and cabbage.

‘One evening roast chicken was on the menu,’ McGrady said.

‘And I found a note on the desk that read “Darren please give the boys pizza” and was signed Jess, the name of the nanny.

‘But it was written in [a] 10-year-olds’ handwriting,’ he continued, explaining that he soon realised it was Harry attempting to pick his own menu.

McGrady said he didn’t make the boys pizza that night and made sure they got the original chicken option ‘because he was too scared of the nanny,’ but he kept the note to tease Harry about it.

Former Police bodyguard Ken Wharfe first met the boys in 1986 when he was appointed to look after them.

He recounted that Diana told him: ‘I don’t envy you looking after my kids’.

And he would often hear more than once Diana scolding Harry with the words: ‘HENRY, NO!’

Wharfe said the angriest he ever saw Diana was when she was telling off Harry for hitting William with a snooker cue while they stayed on Richard Branson’s Caribbean island, Necker.

Harry turns 40! Wills and Harry’s bromance before royal rumble

He also famously stuck his tongue out at photographers from the back of a car and once also stuck two fingers up at them.

One of the worst scrapes he ever got into was when he was five or six.

Dressed in army fatigues, the already soldier-mad youngster went to see Wharfe because he was bored and wanted something to do.

Wharfe handed him a police radio and gave him various points to go to within the grounds of Kensington Palace.

He was to report back on his radio with the words: ‘Mission accomplished.’

After a few times, Harry asked over the radio if he could go and see his aunt Jane, Diana’s sister who also lived at the Palace.

A short time later when Harry did not come back, he asked Jane where he was, and she told the flustered policeman that Harry had left 10 minutes earlier.

But instead of turning left he turned right and headed for Kensington High Street.

Wharfe – seeing his career almost floating away – contacted the young Prince and said: ‘Where are you, Harry.’

The youngster said: ‘Hang on a minute. I am outside Tower Records.’

Wharfe recalled: ‘I never moved so fast to recover Harry to the safety of the Palace.’

Harry, on his sixth birthday, put his hand over the mouth of his two-year-old cousin, Princess Beatrice, on the palace balcony as the royal family watch the Battle of Britain 50th Anniversary Parade.

He was dubbed ‘Kamikaze Harry’ by his nanny in tribute to his daredevil ways.

He was also something of a prankster.

At the age of eight he locked himself in a toilet on board a train just for fun, ignoring Diana’s pleas as she repeatedly banged on the door.

A lover of practical jokes, he liked whoopee cushions and, as a small boy, a favourite trick was to dismantle his parents’ hi-fi at Highgrove.

He would wait to watch their faces as they switched on the stereo, and nothing happened.

But he also suffered with the emotional distress of witnessing the breakdown of his parents’ marriage, and the public fallout that followed.

Then there was his mother’s death in Paris in 1997, which in effect cut short his childhood

But now, following his marriage to one-time actress Meghan Markle, he has turned into a whinger as he enters the early stages of middle age.

His and Meghan’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey came after they walked away from the Royal Family to live in the USA.

And then of course Harry poured out further venom on his family in his memoir Spare.

There was also the couple’s Netflix series, in which more ‘truth bombs’ were fired back towards the Palace.

He no longer speaks to William or sister-in-law Catherine, and rarely to his father.

When he unexpectedly returned to the UK for his uncle’s funeral last month, he was said to have sat well away from his brother, and witnesses said the pair did not speak to each other.

Harry seems to spend his life now talking to lawyers and fighting the British Government because he has lost his taxpayer police protection in the UK.

It is a great pity that the young chap who endeared himself to millions in his home country and beyond has now turned into a sour man as he reaches a milestone birthday.

The story behind Prince Harry’s REAL name… and why he was only called it when he was ‘very, very naughty’ (and that was quite often)

He was christened Prince Henry Charles Albert David by the Archbishop of Canterbury in December 1984.

But Prince Charles and Princess Diana made it clear very early on that their newborn son would be known as Harry.

He was only called Henry, Charles once revealed, when he had been ‘very, very naughty’.

And, as it turned out, that was quite often.

Harry, who turns 40 today, stepped out of line on several occasions in his early life – and those antics that would be mirrored by his behaviour as a teenager and young adult.

Former police bodyguard Ken Wharfe recalled how he would regularly hear Diana scolding Harry with the words: ‘Henry, no!’

When on holiday with his mother and brother on Richard Branson’s Caribbean island, Necker, in 1990, the youngster hit his sibling with a snooker cue.

On another occasion, he forged his nanny’s handwriting in an attempt to trick his family’s chef, Darren McGrady, into making him pizza for dinner instead of roast chicken.

Harry also famously stuck his tongue out at photographers from the back of his family’s car after being taken to see the newborn Princess Beatrice in 1988.

And, when he was five or six, he wandered out of the grounds of Kensington Palace before using a police radio Inspector Wharfe had given him and saying from the nearby Kensington High Street: ‘I’m outside Tower Records.’

So frequent were his antics that his nanny described him as ‘Kamikaze Harry’.

He also liked whoopee cushions and used to enjoy dismantling his parents’ hi-fi at Highgrove, and then watching their faces when they switched it on and nothing happened.

A spokesman said shortly after Harry’s birth: ‘He will, of course, be christened Henry, but afterwards he’ll be Harry.

‘There are centuries of tradition involved. The parents are following a very old royal practice.’

Henry was the name given to eight English kings, the final one being the tyrannical King Henry VIII.

The closest other relation to Prince Charles with the name Henry was his great-uncle, the Duke of Gloucester, who died in 1974.

Before Harry’s birth, betting firms reported that the favourites for the new royal name were George at 6-4, followed by Philip at 5-2.

According to his biographer Mark Saunders, Harry was said to have relished the story of King Henry II, who ordered the murder of Thomas a Becket in Canterbury Cathedral.

He also loved the rousing battleground speech in William Shakespeare’s play Henry V that ended, ‘Cry, “God for Harry! England and St George!”‘

As he grew older, Harry’s naughtiness turned into more serious incidents, such as when he confessed to smoking cannabis at the age of 16 and was ordered to visit a drugs rehabilitation clinic by his father as a result.

And, in an incident that made frontpage headline at the time, Harry went to a fancy dress party in 2005 dressed as a Nazi.

The then-20-year-old attended the birthday bash of a friend with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The theme of the event was ‘native and colonial’.

Harry wore the desert uniform of General Erwin Rommel’s Afrika Korps.

In his 2022 Netflix series, Harry opened up about his dramatic misstep, saying: ‘It was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

    ‘I felt so ashamed afterwards.’

In 2012, Harry was photographed playing ‘strip billiards’ in his Las Vegas hotel suite with a group of naked women.

The images went around the world and led to question marks over the actions of his protection officers.

Inside Prince Harry’s great escape! How the naughty young royal ran down Kensington High Street before using police radio to tell bodyguard: ‘I’m outside Tower Records’

It was a moment that left royal protection officer Ken Wharfe feeling as though his career was about to end – and with good reason.

His young charge, the extraordinarily naughty Prince Harry, had snuck out of the confines of Kensington Palace and was standing outside a record shop on the nearby high street.

Harry, then aged five or six, had used a police radio Inspector Wharfe had given him to cheerily tell the policeman where he was.

Wharfe previously recalled how his dash to recover his charge was his ‘quickest’ ever.

The incident was not the first time that Harry, who turns 40 today, stepped out of line.

He once hit his brother Prince William with a snooker cue and on another occasion forged his nanny’s handwriting in an attempt to convince the family’s chef to make him pizza for dinner.

Inspector Wharfe took charge of security for Prince William and Prince Harry in 1986.

The following year, he was appointed as a bodyguard to their mother Princess Diana.

Harry’s escape from the confines of the Palace came after the young, soldier-obsessed royal had gone to Inspector Wharfe looking to be entertained.

Describing him as a ‘real tearaway’ on GB News, Inspector Wharfe said: ‘I nearly lost my job once over him. Because he was trying to relieve a sense of boredom.

‘He came into my office, said, “Ken, I need to do something.”

I said, “Ok, look, here’s a radio, go up to the garage, speak to the chauffer, make a phone call and I’ll give you another job.

‘So we did that four or five times, gone to the chef, gone to the flower seller whatever, in the end he said, “can I go down and see Aunt Jane?“, which was Diana’s sister, just outside the front of Kensington Palace.’

Inspector Wharfe recalled how Harry used a police radio he had given him to cheerily tell the policeman that he was standing outside Tower Records (above) on Kensington High Street, after sneaking out of the Palace grounds

Inspector Wharfe checked with Lady Jane Fellowes and then allowed Harry to go and see her.

She told the policeman that she would call him when he was on his way back.

He continued: ‘About 20 minutes later, I rang Jane and said, “have you sent Harry back yet?”

She said, “I sent him back ten minutes ago.”

‘A slight panic set in. So I called him up on the radio. I said, “Harry, it’s Ken, where are you?”

What is the secret behind Victoria Beckham’s £850 cult dress that has been worn by Kendall Jenner, Queen Letizia, Phoebe Dynevor and Amanda Holden?

What does it take to make a dress a smash hit?

Ask Victoria Beckham, who has produced a dress that ticks so many boxes it’s becoming as famous as the Herve Leger bandage dress was in the Noughties. Only a lot more versatile.

The cult dress seems to suit women of all ages – thanks to VB’s five-point formula.

Point one is the ruched long waist. Ruching or gathering from waist to hip is as flattering as it is forgiving, and adds movement and interest to a very simple silhouette – not to mention it disguises any lumps and bumps.

Point two is a clean, uncomplicated, feminine silhouette. The dress is cut like a gently flared, midi-length tea dress, so it’s elegant, flattering and eminently wearable.

This is partly thanks to the third point (a crucial one if you’re over the age of 50) – the draped tulip sleeves.

These cunningly have it both ways: they’re long enough to disguise any trace of bingo wings and, at the same time, split to the shoulder so the look is lighter and fresher.

Point four: the miracle dress comes in six plain block colours, so it has all the advantages of a floral dress, plus modernity and striking power.

Naturally Victoria took her catwalk bow wearing the black version, which will no doubt be the LBD on the social circuit this autumn.

Which brings us to point five of the winning formula: you can dress it up or down, and wear it year round. Not much more you can ask from a dress really.

£850 dress fit for a queen that’s behind Posh’s best ever year

As far as rags to riches go, it seems Victoria Beckham’s label has one ‘rag’ to thank in particular.

For this £850 dress has driven profits at Posh Spice’s once troubled fashion brand – with sales soaring by 52 per cent last year.

A-list fans already include Queen Letizia of Spain, 51, and influencer Kendall Jenner, 28, who have both worn the ‘parrot green’ version of the midi-dress.

Other fashionable followers include model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, 37, and actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw, 41.

Even Ms Beckham, 50, has worn various colours of the dress which has come to be dubbed her ‘cult item’.

One in ten of her online sales is said to be the outfit – which was launched in her spring/summer 2023 show on supermodel Bella Hadid.

A source said the former Spice Girl was ‘thrilled’ at the turnover, adding: ‘Victoria has worked so hard on her label. It has been tough at times but she is so happy it is now going from strength to strength.’

The brand, which was launched in 2008, has reportedly borrowed more than £30 million to stay afloat over the years. However last year saw revenues soar from £59 million to £89 million – its third consecutive year of growth.

It comes after it was reported that Romeo has left his Premier League football club to focus on a career in fashion.

According to The Sun, the midfielder, who is the son of David and Victoria Beckham, was offered a new contract by Brentford FC in June to stay on with their B team.

But it appears Romeo is hoping to follow in his mother Victoria’s footsteps as he signed with top Paris fashion agency Safe Management.

Romeo is no stranger to the world of fashion, having starred in a Burberry campaign when he was just two years old and he is regularly seen showing off his style sense at A-list events.

A source said: ‘Romeo has decided to hang up his football boots and devote his time to his fashion career.

‘He has loved his time at Brentford but needs to focus his attention on fashion, which is where his passion lies.

‘Romeo has recently signed with a top fashion agent in Paris and has his sights set on working with some massive brands.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives of Romeo Beckham for comment.

A promising prospect in his youth, Romeo drifted away from football after being released by Arsenal in 2015 and turned his attention towards a career in tennis.

However, Romeo would announce he intended on a return to football in 2020 before joining dad David’s MLS franchise Inter Miami the following year.

Romeo would go on to make 26 appearances for the club’s reserve side, netting twice and notching 10 assists in the MLS Next Pro league during his final season in the USA before joining Brentford B on loan in January 2023.

It comes after Romeo took inspiration from his fashion mogul mother Victoria as he recently posed for a snap wearing a pair of giant yellow Crocs boots .

The footballer showed off his tattooed physique in a white tank top and grey shorts as he flicked his leg behind him modelling the eccentric £354 boots.

Sporting a backwards black baseball cap, Romeo crossed his arms as he faced away from the camera while posing in his brother Cruz’s bedroom.

Romeo simply captioned the post: ‘Mmmmmm’

His family were quick to take to the comments including younger brother Cruz, who penned: ‘That’s my room’, while his grandmother Sandra Beckham added a shocked face emoji.
