Lorraine Kelly has shared her support for Davina McCall after the news of her breast cancer diagnosis.

Davina McCall took to Instagram this weekend to share the news of her diagnosis, explaining how an ITV Lorraine campaign reminded her to check for lumps and helped her know of abnormalities. “We’re so so sorry she’s had to go through that,” Lorraine Kelly began on her ITV programme today, before speaking to the founder of her Change+Check campaign.

“It has been caught so early, which is wonderful,” she added, praising the nationwide campaign that has been going on for six years, which Lorraine said she was one of the things she was most proud of during her time working at ITV. In a bid to raise awareness, the campaign has formed a choir, climbed the o2, and Lorraine even took part in a semi-nude photoshoot earlier this year.

Lorraine went on to say she can understand Davina’s reaction of “anger” after her diagnosis, one year after she underwent surgery for a brain tumour.

“It shows it can happen to anyone,” Lorraine said. “We’re sending her all of our love, to Davina and anybody going through the same thing, it’s scary.”

Sharing the news this weekend, Davina revealed her cancer was detected “very early” and she underwent surgery in October.

She said in an Instagram video: “Hello. I am talking about this because I think it may help someone, and this is what I always do.

“I just wanted to tell you that I have had breast cancer. I found a lump a few weeks ago and it came and went, but then I was working on The Masked Singer and Lorraine Kelly’s TV show had put signs on the back of all the doors saying to “check your breasts” and every time I went for a wee, I did that.

“And it was still there. One morning I saw it in the mirror and thought I needed to get it looked at, so I had a biopsy and found out that it was indeed breast cancer.”

She continued: “The margins were very small so I got it very, very early, which is incredibly lucky. But I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it hasn’t spread. My lymph nodes were clear and I didn’t have any removed. All I am going to do now is have five days of radiotherapy in January, as kind of an insurance policy, and then I am on my journey to try and stop it ever coming back.”

Davina, who underwent emergency surgery last year to remove a brain tumour, thanked the nurses and doctors who looked after her, as well as her family and partner Michael, before urging others to check themselves.

She said: “It’s been a lot. I was very angry when I found out, but I let go of that and feel in a much more positive place now. I think my message is, get checked if you’re worried. Check yourself regularly. If you are due a mammogram, then get it done.”

Following Davina’s video, Lorraine shared a message of support on social media, writing: “I’m so glad Davina saw our Change+Check sticker and the cancer was caught early.

“That’s the whole point of the campaign, to raise awareness and save lives.

“I’m sending Davina all my love. She’s been through such a lot, and she’s such a terrific woman.”

Lorraine’s Change+Check campaign aims to raise awareness of the signs of breast cancer, giving viewers information on what symptoms to be aware of.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.

“He Didn’t Win the Crown… But He Won the Room”: Tom Read Wilson Lands Major ITV Role Just Days After Leaving the Jungle

Tom Read Wilson may have missed out on being crowned King of the Jungle —
but just 72 hours after stepping out of camp, he has secured something even bigger:
a brand-new presenting role on ITV’s This Morning.

And according to insiders, ITV bosses didn’t just invite him…
    they chased him.

A New Star Is Born on Daytime TV

Viewers fell in love with Tom’s warmth, poetic charm and soothing voice during I’m A Celebrity 2025, and now ITV has snapped him up faster than any finalist this season — even faster than new Jungle King AngryGinge.

On Thursday morning, Tom appeared on This Morning’s famous sofa, not as a guest… but in his debut as the show’s new “Agony Uncle”, answering viewers’ dilemmas in the emotional run-up to Christmas.

    And he absolutely nailed it.

    Ben Shephard told him:
“In camp, you were the person everyone went to. You were born for this.”

Tom blushed — then proved them right.

     Tom’s Advice Goes Viral

When a viewer asked whether he should confess a crush at the office Christmas party, Tom delivered a line that instantly trended on X:

“Sow the seeds before the wine does it for you.”

Cat and Ben burst out laughing — and then offered him the job on air.

    “Would you come back?”
    Tom didn’t hesitate.
    “I would absolutely love to.”

Just like that… a new daytime star was made.

The TV presenter, 39, was reportedly headhunted by ITV bosses shortly after finishing as runner-up behind new King of the Jungle AngryGinge (L-R Tom, AngryGinge, and Shona McGarty)

From Late Arrival to Final Two: The Tom Effect

Tom entered the jungle as a late arrival, an unknown quantity among fan favourites — but within days, he became one of the most popular campmates of the entire season.

    His gentle nature.
    His ability to listen.
His hilarious turns of phrase (“I try to be a shoulder… and a bosom”).
    His emotional honesty.

    He didn’t just compete.
    He connected.

    And fans reacted — HARD.

The finale received over 13 million votes, the highest in at least a decade, with many insisting Tom was the true winner.

Fans Are Still Furious He Didn’t Win

Social media hasn’t calmed down since:

    “Tom should’ve won. Full stop.”

“Ginge has TikTok fans — Tom had the nation.”

“I’m not watching next year. Justice for Tom.”

But while the Jungle crown went elsewhere, the careers crown is clearly Tom’s.

“I Shared More in That Jungle Than I Have in Years”

Speaking on ITV2’s Unpacked, Tom opened up about the intensity of camp life:

“If you add up the waking hours, I spent more time with these people than with my own loved ones this year.”

And in true Tom fashion, he described himself as:

“Disbosoming everything — I surprised even myself.”

The Future Looks Golden for Tom Read Wilson

He may have walked out of the jungle without a crown,
but he walked straight into a primetime job, a national fanbase,
and a brand-new chapter on one of the UK’s biggest TV shows.

Sometimes you don’t need to win the game
    to win the nation.

  • F1 2026 Revealed: The Controversial “Loophole” That Could Hand Mercedes the Title and End Red Bull’s Reign

F1 2026 Revealed: The Controversial “Loophole” That Could Hand Mercedes the Title and End Red Bull’s Reign

The Formula 1 paddock is no stranger to whispers, rumors, and the dark art of interpreting regulations, but as we stand on the precipice of the 2026 season, the noise is deafening. The 2026 regulation overhaul was intended to level the playing field, introducing new chassis rules and a significant shift in engine regulations. However, if recent reports are to be believed, the “reset” might just result in a return to a very familiar, silver-tinted status quo.

A controversial technical discovery—a “grey area” within the new engine regulations—threatens to decide the championship before a single wheel has turned in anger.

    The 0.4-Second “Cheat Code”

The biggest talking point heading into the new era is an engineering loophole surrounding the compression ratio of the new power units. The 2026 rules explicitly lower the maximum compression ratio to limit power output. However, engineers at the sharp end of the grid—specifically at Mercedes and reportedly Red Bull—appear to have found a workaround that borders on genius… or illegality, depending on who you ask.

By utilizing the natural thermal expansion of specific engine components, teams can effectively increase the compression ratio while the car is on track. This creates a dynamic advantage that doesn’t show up in static checks but delivers a massive boost in performance during the race. Insiders suggest this trick is worth up to 0.4 seconds per lap. In the world of Formula 1, where gaps are measured in thousandths, four-tenths is not just an advantage; it is a lifetime. It is the difference between a dogfight and a domination.

Mercedes: The Return of the King?

If there is one team that thrives on major regulation changes, it is Mercedes. The Brackley-based squad’s mastery of the turbo-hybrid era starting in 2014 is legendary, and early signs suggest they may have struck gold again. The 2026 regulations, with their increased reliance on electrical power, play directly into Mercedes’ historical strengths.

Team Principal Toto Wolff has been ominously confident. He recently admitted that the atmosphere at the factory is comparable to the winter of 2013—the calm before the storm that unleashed eight consecutive Constructors’ Championships. With the “thermal expansion” trick reportedly fully integrated into their package and a driver lineup featuring the experienced George Russell and the prodigious talent of Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes looks poised to reclaim their throne. For the rest of the grid, Wolff’s confidence should be a terrifying warning sign.

Red Bull: A Dynasty in Danger?

Conversely, the mood in Milton Keynes seems far more tense. For the first time, Red Bull is entering a new era as an independent engine manufacturer with the Red Bull Powertrains-Ford unit. While they are attempting to replicate the same compression trick as Mercedes, reports indicate they are behind in development.

The departure of key figures like Helmut Marko and the legendary Adrian Newey has left a void, and the pressure is mounting. Max Verstappen, a generational talent, has openly admitted that the team’s dominance is at risk. Paired with rookie Isack Hadjar, who faces the monumental task of supporting Verstappen, Red Bull faces its biggest uncertainty in years. If the Ford engine isn’t competitive from day one, Verstappen’s patience—and his championship streak—could be tested like never before.

Ferrari’s Golden Opportunity (Or Missed Chance)

For the Tifosi, 2026 is the year of the “Dream Team.” Lewis Hamilton donning the scarlet red alongside Charles Leclerc is a marketing dream, but will the car match the hype? Ferrari stopped development on their 2025 car early to focus entirely on this reset. They have the resources, the drivers, and the motivation to end their drought.

However, Ferrari’s history is plagued by operational blunders and strategic missteps. The 2026 reset is their golden ticket to wipe the slate clean. If the car is fast, the dynamic between Hamilton—chasing a record-breaking eighth title—and Leclerc will be explosive. But if they have missed the boat on the engine regulations, even the greatest driver pairing in history won’t be able to drag the Prancing Horse to the front.

The Dark Horse and The Rest

Outside the “Big Three,” Aston Martin looms as the potential spoiler. The arrival of design guru Adrian Newey, a state-of-the-art factory, and a works partnership with Honda (who have a stellar track record with engines) makes them the team to watch. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll could find themselves in machinery capable of challenging for wins, fulfilling the team’s long-term ambition.

McLaren, the reigning Constructors’ Champions of 2024 and 2025, find themselves in a peculiar spot. While they benefit from the potent Mercedes customer engine, there is a lingering fear that they might struggle to adapt their chassis to the new aero rules, similar to their stumble in 2022.

Further down, the grid sees the arrival of giants and newcomers. Audi enters the fray with Sauber, treating 2026 as a learning year with sights set on 2030. Cadillac, the bold American entry, starts from scratch with Ferrari power and the veteran duo of Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas to guide development.

    The Verdict

The 2026 season promises to be a battle of engineering wit as much as driving skill. If the rumors of the engine loophole are true, we might see a scattering of the field reminiscent of 2014. Mercedes appears to hold the aces, but in F1, you can never discount the genius of Newey at Aston Martin or the sheer will of Verstappen at Red Bull.

One thing is certain: the technological war has already begun, and the first casualty might be the unpredictability of the championship fight. Buckle up, race fans. 2026 is going to be a wild ride.

Patrick Christys: Leftie HUMILIATED After Audience Member EXPOSES the Truth Behind Starmer’s ‘Dictator-Style’ Election Delays

Let’s stop pretending this is boring admin.

Let’s stop pretending this is just “parish councils” or “tidying up local government.”
And for heaven’s sake, let’s stop pretending that cancelling elections for nearly 10 million people is somehow compatible with a healthy democracy.

Because when you strip away the excuses, the jargon, and the smug Westminster complacency, what we saw on that panel was something far more revealing:
a left-wing commentator caught flat-footed, exposed by an ordinary voter who understands democracy better than the people paid to lecture us about it.

“I Haven’t Been Able to Vote — Twice.”

That should have ended the argument.

An audience member — calm, articulate, and visibly fed up — explained that she lives on the Hampshire–West Sussex border and has now missed two chances to vote because elections keep getting kicked down the road.

    Twice.

    Not because of war.
    Not because of a pandemic.
Not because the ballot boxes caught fire.

But because Labour decided it would be inconvenient to ask the public what they think.

And how did our leftie pundit respond?

    By sneering.
    By minimising.
By effectively saying: What’s the big deal?

That, right there, is the modern Left in a nutshell.

Seven Years in Power — No Voters Required

Let’s be absolutely clear about what’s happening.

Labour, with the quiet agreement of the Conservatives, is delaying local and mayoral elections across 63 councils. If these delays are extended again — and many expect they will be — some councillors will sit in office for seven years without facing voters.

    Seven years.

That’s longer than most parliaments in functioning democracies.

And yet, when people dare to point out that this looks suspiciously authoritarian, we’re told to calm down. To stop being dramatic. To trust the process.

    Funny, isn’t it?

Because if Nigel Farage or Reform UK had cancelled elections for 10 million people, the BBC would be running wall-to-wall coverage on the “collapse of democracy,” and every left-wing activist within a 50-mile radius would be screaming “fascism” into a megaphone.

    But this time?

    Oh, it’s Labour.
    Sir 𝘒𝘦𝘪𝘳𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳.
Nice suit. Red rosette. Move along.

    “That’s Not Fascism — That’s Restructuring”

One of the most jaw-dropping moments came when the left-wing panellist dismissed comparisons to authoritarianism as “absurd,” scoffing at the idea that delaying local elections could possibly matter.

Parish councils, he implied, are barely worth worrying about.

Tell that to the people who rely on them for social care decisions.
Tell that to the communities whose roads, housing, and services are controlled locally.
Tell that to the parish councillor in the audience — a volunteer — who stood up and explained how his unpaid public service has affected his family and his children.

And still, the response was condescension.

    This is not ignorance.
    This is contempt.

    Democracy Only When It’s Convenient

Here’s the problem Labour doesn’t want to talk about:
democracy is messy — and they’re losing control of it.

    Reform is surging.
Trust in Labour and the Conservatives is collapsing.
Voters are angry, cynical, and increasingly unwilling to play along.

So what do you do if you’re terrified of the verdict?

    You delay it.

You dress it up as “reorganisation.”
    You claim it’s about efficiency.
You say the public wouldn’t understand the complexities anyway.

And then you ask the very councillors who benefit from staying in power longer whether they fancy… staying in power longer.

    Unsurprisingly, many say yes.

    That’s not reform.
    That’s self-preservation.

Even the Electoral Commission Isn’t Buying It

And before anyone accuses me of exaggeration, let’s remember this:
the Electoral Commission itself has criticised these delays, arguing that the justifications are weak and that elections should go ahead.

But who cares what the independent watchdog says, right?

After all, this government already feels comfortable:

    Scrapping jury trials

    Policing online speech

Arresting people for social media posts

    Rewriting rules to suit itself

So why not quietly suspend a few elections while you’re at it?

“If We Can Land a Man on the Moon…”

One audience member made a point so devastatingly simple that it cut through every excuse.

If Britain could organise elections during the Second World War — with half a million dead, cities in ruins, and troops scattered across the globe — why can’t we manage one now?

The answer, of course, is obvious.

    We can.

    They just don’t want to.

    This Is About Fear

    Let’s stop dancing around it.

    Labour is scared.

    Scared of Reform.
    Scared of voters.
Scared of what happens when people finally get their say.

And the most insulting part of all?
They think you’re too stupid to notice.

They think if they dismiss local councils as irrelevant, democracy itself will shrink with it.

    It won’t.

Because democracy doesn’t belong to politicians.
It belongs to people like that woman in the audience — the one who hasn’t voted, not once, but twice.

    History Is Watching

You don’t need tanks in the streets to slide into authoritarianism.
Sometimes all it takes is a government that decides elections are… inconvenient.

Liberty is not a “nice to have.”
    It is the foundation.

And any party — Labour included — that treats the right to vote as optional is playing a dangerous game.

    They might delay the reckoning

But they can’t cancel it forever

A royal commentator has weighed in on the meaning behind Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales’ 2025 Christmas card.

The adorable photo features the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three kids, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven. In the picture, Charlotte cuddles into her dad while Louis is sat between William’s legs. George is seen cuddled into his mum, Kate.

You can have a look at it here. Alongside the photo, a message read: “Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.”

Now, a royal expert has suggested there may be a hidden message behind the cute family snap.

William and Kate’s Christmas card unpacked

Captured by photographer Josh Shinner in Norfolk in April of this year, the photo shows the family-of-five sitting on the grass in a field of daffodils. It appears to have been taken on a sunny day.

Perhaps not a very stereotypically ‘Christmassy’ image, but royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed this would have been a deliberate decision.

A daffodil covered backdrop in the countryside has the feel of healing and rebirth.

“A royal card is invariably a photograph of senders,” he told the Daily Mail. “If they looked kitted for harsh weather, it might be viewed as symbolic, especially if the royal family has had a tough year.”

He described the festive photo as “an important public relations statement”, adding that the royal family put a lot of thought into creating their Christmas cards, to ensure that they send a positive message.

To this end, the expert claimed that the Waleses’ springtime snap is actually a “perfect example of a Christmas card,” using “rural settings to convey charm and good tidings”.

“A daffodil covered backdrop in the countryside has the feel of healing and rebirth which is an integral part of the festive season,” he explained. “Especially when Catherine, who is promoting the merits of outdoor life to children, is in remission from cancer.”

The expert’s observations can also be applied to King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 2025 Christmas card.

The king and queen likewise chose to stay away from seasonal stereotypes, opting for a photo of them both taken in April during their visit to Rome. In the background, we can see the stunning floral gardens of the Villa Wolkonsky, the British ambassador’s residence.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a family photo on Friday ahead of the holiday season.

As we approach the 12th anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s devastating skiing accident, his health condition remains a closely guarded secret by his family. The Formula One legend suffered severe head trauma after hitting his head on a rock while skiing in the French Alps in December 2013.

The seven-time world champion was put into a medically induced coma for a period before being allowed to return to his home near Lake Geneva. It’s thought the head injury from the accident has left Schumacher needing constant care in what is believed to be a hospital facility at his home.

It’s also suggested that the German racing star is unable to communicate verbally due to his injuries. Earlier this year, Schumacher managed to sign his initials ‘MS’ on a helmet for an auction organised by F1 legend Sir Jackie Stewart, with his wife Corrina guiding his hand.

Despite the intense privacy surrounding the family and specifically Schumacher’s health, snippets of information about the 56-year-old’s condition have been shared. Elisabetta Gregoraci, the ex-wife of former Benetton boss Flavio Briatore, revealed that the racing icon can communicate using his eyes.

Speaking to Spanish media in 2020, she said: “Michael doesn’t speak, he communicates with his eyes. Only three people can visit him and I know who they are. They moved to Spain and his wife has set up a hospital in that house.”

The family’s privacy extends to visitor restrictions, with only nine individuals reportedly granted access. Richard Hopkins, formerly Head of Operations at Red Bull, developed a friendship with Schumacher during their time in the paddock.

The racing figure expanded to SPORTbible about the details of the visiting arrangements established by Corinna. “I think it’s fairly clear,” Hopkins said. “There are only two, three, four people that we know of. There are probably others.

“Michael had friendships with people who weren’t owners of Formula One teams or racing drivers, so I’m sure there are people who probably see him that we just don’t know about, because we don’t know their names.

“But there are fairly strict rules, and we don’t talk about those rules. I’m not going to try and visit Michael, because I know that’s not going to happen, and I’m one of thousands in that position of knowing it’s not possible.

“If you’re Jean Todt, your friendship is at the point where that’s okay. I don’t think there’s a written rule or a list of names. It’s just one of those known things.”

Schumacher’s close-knit circle includes his wife, their children Mick and Gina-Maria Schumacher, and his long-standing manager Sabine Kehm.

His enduring friendships from his F1 days reportedly include Ross Brawn, Jean Todt, Gerhard Berger, Luca Badoer and Felipe Massa.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will soon be heading to the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk to celebrate the Christmas period with their family. But, even after a very difficult year for the Royal Family, there could be another spanner in the works as union bosses are threatening to deprive the region of fuel supplies over Christmas and New Year.

Drivers have announced their plan to walk out for 15 days between December 22 and January 25 in a dispute over pay.

Also heading to Sandringham are expected to be the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who stay at their home, Anmer Hall.

And while he looks set to spend Christmas at Royal Lodge in Windsor, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s next residence – widely reported to be Marsh Farm – is also located on the Estate.

As well as disrupting supplies to Sandringham, the drivers’ strike will also affect schools, Royal Mail refuelling sites, military establishments and hundreds of Gulf Oil petrol stations, the union said.

As for how the family are expected to celebrate the big day, the Royal Family website reads: “On Christmas Eve, The Royal Family lay out their presents on trestle tables and will exchange their gifts at teatime.”

Speaking to The Express before, royal expert Robert Jobson explained: “On Christmas Eve when all the clan are together, the Queen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren put the finishing touches to the 20ft Christmas tree in the White Drawing Room. Presents will be opened that day at teatime as the royals still keep to the German practice of opening their gifts on Christmas Eve.

“Gifts are laid out in the Red Drawing Room on a white linen-covered trestle table, with cards marking exactly where the piles of gifts should be put.”

Mr Jobson went on to say that once “everyone has arrived” the family enjoy “a traditional Christmas” which involves the gifting of “cheap and humorous gifts.” He added that the gifts are “unlikely to be pricey”.

A Certas Energy spokesperson said: “Contrary to some inaccurate press reports, Certas Energy confirms that drivers have been offered a generous, above inflation, pay and conditions offer.

“The offer was made in recognition of the important role our fuel delivery drivers play in delivering to our customers across the country. Certas Energy remain engaged with Unite to achieve a swift resolution.

“Customers should be reassured that in the event of industrial strike action, Certas Energy has steps in place to mitigate impact and to minimise any potential disruption to customers.”

90 DAYS TO A FOOD CRISIS: WHY STARMER’S TAX RAID IS AN “EXTINCTION-LEVEL EVENT” FOR BRITISH AGRICULTURE! 📉💀 Nigel Nelson warned of the extinction, and Gareth Wyn Jones is living it. 🚫 The “cunning tactic” of this Labour Government is to crush family farms with a tax burden they can’t survive. With no “new blood” able to afford to enter the industry, we are looking at the death of British farming. While imports flood our markets and food inflation rockets, Starmer is busy shutting the door on thousands of protesting farmers. This isn’t just a policy it’s a Systemic Erasure of our rural heritage. NO FARMERS, NO FOOD, NO FUTURE. FIRE THE REGIME! 🚨🚫

Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones has demanded “respect” from Sir Keir Starmer after the Government’s “disgraceful” attack on Britain’s countryside.

Speaking to GB News, the sheep farmer hit out at Labour’s inheritance tax raid and declared things are getting “more ridiculous by the day”.

Highlighting the struggles he is facing just before Christmas, Mr Wyn Jones told GB News: “It’s getting more ridiculous by the day, I think. These champagne socialists are targeting the countryside. It’s a very sad time to be a farmer globally, to be honest with you.

“We’re seeing attacks now on the global community, the European farmers, with this influx of imports. We’ve got inheritance tax here. A lot of people don’t understand that food inflation is going up on a daily basis, and the poor people can’t afford good, nutritious, healthy food to feed their families. And this is all due to the Labour Government.”

Telling GB News about his father, Mr Wyn Jones stressed how hard his family have worked to keep the farm afloat.

He said: “My father sitting in the house behind me, he’s 89, he’s worked all his life. Never had the passport, never bought a new car, he’s always invested into the land.

“We can’t keep going. I’m going to be out here Boxing Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, New Year’s Eve. I’m going to be out here every day watching after my livestock.”

Calling on the Government to “respect” Britain’s farmers, Mr Wyn Jones told GB News: “I don’t want sympathy, I don’t want handouts at all. All I’m asking, and I think every other farmer is asking, is a little bit of respect.

Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones demanded ‘respect’ from the Government after their ‘disgraceful’ attack on the countrysid

“This Government needs to be careful. I got up at half past four this morning, had a cup of tea and then I’ve been out here feeding the cows, I’ve got a few turkeys to clean and for my family and friends later on, and then I’m going round the sheep onto the hill and just making sure everything’s all right and get everything fed.”

Praising Mr Wyn Jones, host Eamonn Holmes paid tribute to the hard work of farmers across Britain: “The thing about it is when Gareth talks about what he does there, it’s like we go to the supermarket and we get something in a packet and we open it up, and he has to get it already for that packet.

“It’s real work. It’s real graft, and real respect to you, Gareth.”

Responding to Eamonn, the farmer told GB News: “And can I say one thing as well? Every single Government across the world will regret what they’ve done to the farming communities in the years to come, because it’s disgraceful. We’ve got mental health issues, we’ve got people taking their own lives and they haven’t listened.

    Farmers' protest

Farmers have been protesting the Inheritance tax rise since the last Budget | PA

“There have been thousands of farmers protesting down in London, trying to get our opinions across, and they don’t even open the door. They don’t even listen. It’s disgraceful.

“As they’re drinking their oatmeal lattes in their ivory towers down in Whitehall, the farmers are still at it every single day trying to produce food to feed this nation.”

Asked by Eamonn who the “next Gareth” will be in the family to take over his farm, Mr Wyn Jones admitted: “There isn’t anyone there. I’ve got a son who’s keen to come in, but, you know, at this point, he’s on the farm working, but we can’t give him a decent wage.

“The scary thing is, the majority of farmers are over their 60s and getting older, and in the next ten years, it’s going to be crucial to bring new blood, fresh blood. And who the hell would want to come into this industry as it is now on its knees, not being able to get a real return?”

Heaping praise on GB News for the support the channel has offered to farmers since the tax raid was announced, Mr Wyn Jones said: “You know what? Nobody else is showing the farming community struggle like GB News, I’ll be honest with you.

“And I’ve been on GB News since the beginning. When I came on right at the beginning, people would call me right-wing, this and that, and you can see you’ve built a channel around honesty and integrity, and I can only thank you. And another thing I’d like to say is we need to thank the great British public, because they have been behind us.”

    Gareth Wyn Jones

Mr Wyn Jones hailed GB News for supporting farmers ‘from the beginning’

Warning of the catastrophic impact of a farmer’s strike on Britain, he said: “Now imagine if the farming industry went on strike. People, imagine if these farmers said, enough is enough, we’re going on strike, we’re going to start to pull back the food.

“Imagine what would happen to this country, it would go militant. People would go hungry, there would be shelves that would be empty. We’re not going to do that, we’re fighting for our industry, but we’re fighting for Great Britain to build a better Britain on our bellies.

“We need the farming communities working with Government, and at this moment, it’s not happening. There’s a targeted attack on our countryside, and things need to change.

“We need a farming food revolution, and definitely I’m with education to go forward, to teach people how to cook, how to eat seasonally, and how to find nutritious food from British farms.”

In a statement, a Treasury spokesman said: “We are backing farmers with a record £2.7billion a year to grow their businesses and put more British food on our plates.

“Our inheritance tax changes protect public services while keeping it fair. Three-quarters of farm estates will pay nothing, the rest pay half the usual rate spread over ten years interest free.”

Sweet moment Charlotte gazes up at mum Kate as they play piano side-by-side to kick off Christmas Eve carol concert

The Princess of Wales and her daughter Charlotte have teamed up for a ‘special’ piano duet – with the stunning performance airing on Kate’s star-studded Christmas carol concert tonight.

The royal duet delighted fans during the opening segment of the programme – ‘Together at Christmas’ – which was on ITV1 and ITVX from 7.25pm.

It was shown alongside a voiceover of Kate reading the letter that was given to guests at Westminster Abbey, and footage of people arriving for the service on December 5.

Kate, 43, and 10-year-old Princess Charlotte played Holm Sound by Erland Cooper – a Scottish composer and producer from the Orkney Islands – whose work is inspired by nature and connection, themes which are of deep importance to the Princess of Wales.

Holm Sound was written and composed by Erland for his mother, Charlotte.

The special moment was recorded in the Inner Hall at Windsor Castle last week and the royals were joined on the day by Erland himself.

Royal fans gushed at the pair’s ‘absolutely beautiful’ performance which ‘brought tears to people’s eyes’ with others noting ‘Catherine looks so proud of Princess Charlotte’.

One said: ‘Catherine the Princess of Wales knocks it out of the park with everything she does and she makes it seem so effortless. A lovely message to accompany the piano duet with Charlotte, superb.’

Another added: ‘Prince William must be so proud of both his beautiful girls. Lovely lovely carol concert.’

The Prince and Princess of Wales teased the duet this morning by posting a cryptic surprise on their joint Instagram account.

The clip panned across a festively decorated room to show two hands, one with a large ring, resting on a piano.

They captioned the clip: ‘A special duet…’

In the voiceover, Kate said: ‘At its heart Christmas speaks of love taking form in the simplest most human ways.

‘Not in sentimental or grand gestures. But gentle ones. A moment of listening. A word of comfort. A friendly conversation. A helping hand. Presents.

‘These simple acts of care might seem small but they contribute to the beautiful tapestry of life to which we all belong.

‘Christmas is a time which reminds us how deeply our lives are woven together. Just as the roots of trees share strength between the soil, unseen but vital, so too do we.

‘We are drawn by an instinctive pull towards belonging and connection.

‘At a time when life can sometimes feel fragmented or uncertain, the Christmas season invites us to remember the power of reaching out to one another with generosity of heart, understanding and hope.

‘This carol service offers a moment of collective togetherness, a chance to celebrate the spirit of community and service and to honour the visible and invisible bonds which unite us all.

‘The time, care and compassion you give often quietly and unspoken and without any expection or recognition make an extraordinary difference to the lives of others.

‘As the year draws to a close I hope this season brings you moments of peace and clarity and that you too feel surrounded by the same love and care which you offer so freely.

‘Thank you for the warmth you have given and the kindess you have shown and the quiet constant light you bring to others.

‘Wishing you a very happy Christmas.’

Actress Vicky McClure, famous for her roles in Trigger Point and Line Of Duty, narrated the service after Kate’s introduction.

After the opening segment the programme continued with a performance of the hymns Once in Royal David’s City and a Sussex Carol by the Westminster Abbey choir, before a speech by The Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, the 39th Dean of Westminster.

Prince William delivered a reading of the second chapter of the Gospel of Luke from the New Testament in front of a crowd of 1,600 attendees which included the Duke of Kent, whose wife Katharine, Duchess of Kent, passed away in September.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was also in attendance alongside Mike and Zara Tindall.

Actress Kate Winslet, 50, performed a reading titled ‘A reflection of love and connection’.

And there were musical performances from actor Hannah Waddingham, singers Katie Melua, Dan Smith, Griff and Cornish folk music group Fisherman’s Friends.

It also featured two community films, with one focusing on an artist from Fleetwood, Lancashire, who puts on a Christmas dinner for those alone at this time of year.

Kate has played the piano at previous festive concerts, including in 2021 when she put on a touching performance at a Westminster Abbey service which aired on TV.

On that occasion, she stunned onlookers as she played the piano to accompany singer Tom Walker with a poignant song performed by candlelight at the service in London.

They played his Christmas single For Those Who Can’t Be Here together – and despite the duchess reportedly feeling ‘quite nervous’, fans rushed to praise her performance.

Others noted how Kate seemingly channelled her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, who surprised onlookers in 1988 in Australia with her own piano performance.

Meanwhile, sweet new pictures released on Tuesday showed Kate and Prince Louis sharing an adorable moment at her Christmas carol concert.

Royal fans swooned at the unseen snaps of the princess and her three children at her annual carol service at Westminster Abbey.

Their heart-warming bond was clear for all to see as Princess Charlotte, arrived to support her mother alongside her father, Prince William, 43, and brothers, Princes George, 12, and Louis, seven.

The whole family was sleek in navy and green, as the boys wore smart suits while Charlotte was adorable in a blue dress with a white collar – a perfect complement to her mother’s emerald.

Kate was pictured beaming proudly at her children, leading them towards Westminster Abbey as they admired the festive light decorations ahead of the service – which will be aired on Christmas Eve.

And once inside, the Princess of Wales helped Louis balance a candle while she held onto an order of service in her other hand.

In adorable scenes, Kate could be seen speaking quietly to her youngest son, while he sat with a cheeky grin on his face.

Princess Catherine’s close relationship with her daughter Charlotte was also on show at the carol service, which is now in its fifth year.

The pair’s faces visibly lit up with joy as they spotted each other outside Westminster Abbey before the concert kicked off.

Bearing a wide grin, the Princess of Wales quickly held her arm out to embrace her daughter, who looked equally delighted to support her mother at the event.

The family were later photographed walking into the Abbey together, and Kate continued to lovingly direct her gaze at her daughter.

TV chef James Martin — once the man who swore marriage “didn’t interest [him] in the slightest” — has shocked fans and friends alike by getting engaged to his personal trainer girlfriend, Kim Johnson.

The beloved Saturday Morning host, 53, is said to be “happier than ever” after proposing to Kim, 39, less than two years after they began dating in March 2024. And in classic James fashion, the proposal came with not just a ring… but a brand-new Land Rover Defender, which Kim showcased on Instagram, admitting she was “speechless.”

“It’s taken James decades to finally get there,” an insider told The Sun, “and friends share a wry smile at his U-turn. But everyone has seen the change in him since meeting Kim. He’s never been happier. They are a wonderful couple.”

The pair were first spotted together in Mayfair in March 2024 and quickly became inseparable — holidaying in France that summer before Kim moved in with him in October. Their romance followed James’ split from long-term partner Louise Davies after 12 years together.

Kim, previously married to businessman Arun Nayar until 2017, appears to have brought a whole new chapter of stability and joy to the chef’s life.

James’ change of heart is striking, considering his 2019 declaration to The Sunday People:

“Marriage doesn’t interest me in the slightest… I don’t need to spend 60 grand on a day. I’m more than happy, thanks.”

Yet here he is — ring in pocket, keys to a luxury 4×4 in hand — proving that even the most stubborn vows can soften when the right person arrives.
