JLS star Aston Merrygold leaves fans gobsmacked as he offers to suck a stranger’s toes

JLS singer Aston Merrygold shocked an unsuspecting crowd of people when he called a man on stage and asked if he could suck his toes in a wild TV moment

Aston Merrygold made a very unique offer to a fan.

The JLS star rose to fame on the X Factor thanks to his singing and dance abilities, yet has tried his hand at a totally different career. As part of a new TV series, he headed on stage in front of an unsuspecting group of people who thought they are at a life-coaching leadership presentation.

Tapped Out Prank Stars hosts Nella Rose and Harry Pinero were in his ear giving instructions. In a clip from the show, Aston could be seen standing on stage saying everything Nella and Harry were telling him to. He kicked off: “Enough of the foreplay, as far as you know celebrities have actually been manipulating you.

“Now, they are even selling feet pictures.” Aston declared under Nella’s instruction: “So that’s actually the avenue I want to go down.” He then told the crowd to take out their phones as he was directed to take off his shoe. Aston kicked off his boot and then removed his sock, before throwing it into the confused audience.

The singer pointed at a man in the crowd and called him up on stage with him. Nella directed him to shake the man’s hand but not to let go. She told Aston to look the man in the eye and ask: “Can I suck your toes?” Aston built up the courage and directly asked the question, leaving the hosts stunned.

Nella was so shocked, she told co-star Harry to take over as she was “done” and couldn’t take anymore. Harry directed Aston to get on his knees and after a pause, he obliged. Tapped Out Prank Stars is inspired by the hit Channel 4.0 YouTube series. The chaotic comedy prank show challenges three celebrity – rapper ArrDee, comedian Fatiha El-Ghorri, and Aston – to take on a series of cringeworthy tasks in front of unsuspecting members of the public.

The goal is to see if they can withstand the pranks as long as possible without “tapping out.” The celebrity who lasts the longest will be crowned the fearless Tapped Out Champion, while the loser faces a final humiliating forfeit on the streets of London. Nella and Harry are joined by a rowdy studio audience, watching and reacting to all the antics live from a stylish underground bar.

Aston’s last TV stint was slightly different as he was able to show off his singing skills once again. He took part in the Masked Singer in 2021 where he was disguised as Robin. Aston’s bandmates, who rose to fame together on X Factor, clocked his voice immediately, but the singer was forced to deny it was him to maintain the show’s secrecy: “I had to be like: ‘What are you talking about?’ There were a few curveballs in there but they knew, I’m not going to lie. You can’t work with people for 10 plus years and expect them not to know exactly what I sound like.”

  • GB News’ Mark Dolan dramatically sacked with no warning as he vows to speak out against channel

GB News’ Mark Dolan dramatically sacked with no warning as he vows to speak out against channel

Mark Dolan has been axed by controversial TV network GB News after joining the station in 2021, and said he planned to ‘speak publicly’ after the sudden firing

GB News host Mark Dolan, 50, has announced that he’s suddenly been dropped from the network.

The former Channel 4 star shared the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, in two cryptic posts. In his first post, at around 5:30pm, he wrote: “SOME NEWS. I’ve hosted my last MARK DOLAN TONIGHT on GB News. More to follow…” Mark then followed up an hour later, and shared: “STATEMENT. GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel. I will speak publicly about this in due course.”

The comedian didn’t offer any immediate explanation for his termination, but fans had mixed opinions. While some said that no-one was safe at GB News after a slew of firings and suspensions, others said that Mark’s work on the show and his treatment of Laurence Fox could be the root cause.

Mark was criticised on GB News last year when he tried to form a Match Of The Day alternative in the wake of Gary Lineker being asked to step down from the BBC original. In March, he called upon Patrick Christys to give a rundown of Bournemouth’s 1-0 home win against Liverpool.

Standing by a large electronic screen that he wasn’t sure worked, Patrick summarised the game with a random reference to the hosting team’s Cherries nickname. “How on earth did Liverpool manage to stick seven past Manchester United and then lose to a team named after a fruit?” he joked.

Later, Patrick commented that Lineker “might like Brighton because it’s full of rainbow flags and woke people.” People at home weren’t impressed. One tweeted a gif that read: “Dies from cringe.” Others commented: “Jesus, this is so pathetic I could weep” and “Bit cringey this lads.”

Others echoed: “Are you seriously pretending to be sports presenters now?” and “The absolute state of this, screams of people who call the game ‘footie.’” Another tweeted at the channel: “This is absolutely atrocious. How embarrassing. There are YouTube channels with better production values and more knowledgeable insights than this.”

Even beyond this, some fans suggested that Mark was chucked by GB News for “throwing his colleagues under the bus” after he called out Laurence Fox while stepping in to cover for him and Dan Wooton at the beginning of the year. Explaining his presence, Mark said: “Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll be aware that GB News presenter Laurence Fox appeared on the channel last night and made some offensive comments about the journalist Ava Evans.

“I wasn’t expecting to be here tonight. Dan’s absence tonight is beyond my control. Free speech is everything, but it comes with responsibility. Anything you say, or write, or broadcast, will rightly be exposed to the court of public opinion.” The host continued: “I know. I’ve been there. And I’ll be there again. Whether Laurence should stay on air is not my decision, and Dan’s absence tonight is also beyond my control. There is an investigation ongoing. But the comments made by Laurence in my view were sexist, misogynistic and have been condemned across the political spectrum from the left and the right and even the liberal democrats.”

  • Racer Billy Monger’s emotional reason for signing up for BBC Strictly Christmas special

Racer Billy Monger’s emotional reason for signing up for BBC Strictly Christmas special

Billy Monger has opened up about why he’s agreed to take part in the BBC Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special episode and it’s for a very personal reason

Double amputee Billy Monger says he signed up for Strictly Come Dancing’s Christmas special as a thank-you to the surgeon who performed his amputations after his horror smash in 2017.

The racing driver, 25, said he had been inspired to say yes to dancing on his prosthetic limbs because of Tom Rowlands, and his wife Courtney, who are fans of the show and have become close friends. “Tom is one of many surgeons who looked after me when I needed it most,” Billy explained. “After my accident, we stayed in touch and they are part of my close network of people.

“His wife, Courtney, who will be coming to the show, is such a big Strictly fan. I’ve just done Iron Man in Hawaii and she travelled out to watch me. When I said I might be doing Strictly, she said, ‘You have to do it. I’ve come to Hawaii, so you need to do it’. She’s the person who made me think, ‘I’ve got to do this’.”

Billy was a rising star in the world of motor racing until the accident which nearly killed him. In April 2017 Billy, then just 17, was involved in a high-speed crash at Donington Park, Derby during the Formula 4 British Championship. After being cut from the wreckage, he was airlifted to hospital in Nottingham where doctors battled to save his life.

At the time Steven Hunter, head of Billy’s team JHR Developments, said witnessing the young driver and his injuries had been a “heart-wrenching”experience. But, after having surgery to remove his left leg above the knee and his right leg below the knee, Billy was determined to recover and get on with his life. Just seven months later, he was back racing, driving a modified car to cater for his disabilities. He has since explained: “I lost my legs but not my daredevil spirit.”

Since then he has become the first disabled driver to compete against able-bodied rivals in Formula 3, having appealed to the governing body to change the rules to allow him in. In 2019 he launched his ongoing career as a racing broadcaster, giving analysis for Channel 4 ’s Formula 1 coverage and he has also become a regular presenter for the Paralympics.

In 2021 he raised £3million for Comic Relief by walking, kayaking and cycling 140 miles and two years later he and his younger sister Bonny were contestants on the first celebrity version of Race Across the World. Billy considers Bonny to be one of the heroes of his personal tragedy, after she went to the track in the immediate aftermath of the crash and grabbed his hand and told him he was going to be all right. “She gave me the will to keep fighting,” he has said since.

BBC/Guy Levy)In October Billy became the youngest double amputee to complete in an Ironman event, beating the previous world record by two hours in the process. Despite these achievements, Billy said that performing an American Smooth with Nadiya Bychkova had proved a huge challenge.“It’s not painful for me – it’s physically challenging with my prosthetics,” he explained. “Some movements are easier than others. When I first met Nadiya we went through different movement patterns and quite quickly worked out what worked and what could be in the routine. As we’ve gone through rehearsals, we’ve changed and tweaked things along the way – it’s not been a straightforward thing. That’s part of the journey I’ve really enjoyed. I’ve liked that we’ve been learning the whole time.

“That, for me, is why I was up for doing it. As much as it’s out of my comfort zone, I love learning new skills and trying new things.” He said that Nadiya’s energy had been “infectious” and had made him fully invested in the process, adding: “She loves dancing so much and she wants to push me – at the start there were some moves where I was thinking, ‘Ooh,

I don’t know if that’s something I’ll be able to do’. But we had to put trust in each other that we could adapt it, that we could make it work for us.” Billy, who says the programme has given him a “newfound confidence”, also feels that he’s enjoyed the experience so much he could cope with the rigours of taking part in the main series, which lasts for a maximum of 13 weeks for the finalists.

“The intensity and duration of the main show can’t be underestimated,” he admitted. “But now having been in this world for a few weeks, there is part of me going, ‘I don’t want this to end’. I want it to keep going and continue to push the boundaries and try new things and show what’s possible for a double amputee dancing. I’m invested now, so I wouldn’t rule out doing the main show in the future.”

GB News in chaos as one presenter sacked and another replaced just before Christmas

Controversial news channel GB News has announced a huge shake-up to the presenting lineup that will come into force in the New Year

GB News has had a huge presenter shake-up just before Christmas as part of major changes announced by the broadcaster.

Just weeks ago Isabel and Eamonn, who are close pals off-screen and previously hosted Sky News breakfast show Sunrise together, were celebrating winning ‘best news programme’ at the TRIC Awards.

But 31-year-old Ellie Costello will now take over presenting duties during the working week. And the new lineup, which will come into force in January, is not the only change happening at GB News in the new year.

In his first post he wrote: “SOME NEWS. I’ve hosted my last MARK DOLAN TONIGHT on GB News. More to follow…” The 50-year-old then followed up an hour later, and shared: “STATEMENT. GB News have made the decision to permanently relieve me of my duties at the channel. I will speak publicly about this in due course.”

Other changes coming into force in January include author, political commentator and pollster Professor Matthew Goodwin joining GB News as a permanent presenter in 2025, presenting State of the Nation on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. Jacob Rees Mogg will continue to host the show on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Comedian Josh Howie, a regular host on GB News’ late night news-review show, Headliners, will become the new presenter of Free Speech Nation on Sunday evenings between 7-9pm. Andrew Doyle will continue as a contributor to the channel.

The channel said further announcements about presenters and programming will be made by GB News in the New Year.

Speaking about the shake-up, Ben Briscoe, Head Of Programming and Talent on GB News, said: “2024 has been a truly fantastic year for us. Not only are we regularly beating the other established news channels, but we are also making inroads against the big public service broadcaster terrestrial channels. Our initiatives will allow us to build on this success with a renewed focus and ambition.”

BBC Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland makes brutal dig at ITV Dancing On Ice stars

Comedian Chris McCausland was crowned the winner of 2024’s Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dancer Dianne Buswell but he had a few things to say about Dancing On Ice

Comedian Chris McCausland has taken a cheeky swipe at Dancing On Ice stars, just a week after he lifted the Strictly Come Dancing trophy.

The comedian, who became the show’s first ever blind winner, will appear on this week’s episode of Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel on BBC One which sees him come face to face with another rival competition show, Dancing On Ice.

Whilst this year’s Strictly might be over for another year, ITV’s ice skating competition is just getting started with stars already rehearsing to be ready to get out on the ice. During his appearance on the quiz show, Chris didn’t miss his chance to make a cheeky joke at his fellow stars as he got comical about Dancing On Ice.

In the clip from the upcoming episode of The Wheel, Chris points at two of his co-stars on hand to help contestants answer quiz questions.

Pointing at Olympic ice skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, who are also the stars of ITV’s Dancing On Ice, Chris joked: “This is the problem we have got – Torvill and Dean might very well be the GOATs of ice skating but I don’t think that anybody else on this Wheel could name two ice skaters that aren’t Torvill and Dean.”

He continued in the footage obtained by The Sun: “Unless the question lands on these guys [Torvill and Dean] or the answer is Torvill and Dean, we are gonna be here all night!” The cheeky comment was taken in good humour by Torvill and Dean who laughed it off as another celebrity on the show, radio presenter Nihal Arthanayake then added: “I know nothing about ice skating at all!”

Chris became the 20th winner of Strictly Come Dancing in last week’s final, which saw him beat Tasha Ghouri, JB Gill and Sarah Hadland to lift the Glitter Ball Trophy. After the news was announced that he’d been voted the winner, a shocked Chris said: “It’s astonishing. I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two. We have just lasted and lasted.”

He added: “This is for her and for everyone out there who thought… who got told they couldn’t do something or thought they couldn’t do it. With opportunity and support and determination anything can happen.”

He then thanked his Aussie partner Dianne and said: “She’s positivity, she’s belief, and she’s honestly just one of the easiest people to be funny with. She deserves this so much. She’s just honestly one of the easiest people to be funny with the other and unless she changes her number, she’s stuck with me.”

The TV star revealed: “Your mum had to come out and warn me. I could see your tears from the beginning of the aisle.”

Joe replied: “Well at least one of us got emotional at the wedding eh. Oh ice queen.” Stacey joked: There was no room for me to get emotional. You were doing it for the both of us.”

Stacey and Joe are known to have one of the strongest relationships in the industry. The couple first met after Stacey was crowned Queen of the Jungle in 2010, and have gone from strength to strength.

  • Peter Andre corrects Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway in awkward scenes

Peter Andre corrects Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway in awkward scenes

Peter Andre interrupted Kate Garraway during their Good Morning Britain discussion to correct the presenter in regards to his family

Peter Andre was quick to correct Kate Garraway as the duo discussed Christas plans on Good Morning Britain.

The Mysterious Girl singer, 51, was sitting on the sofa of the ITV morning show when presenter Kate claimed he would have a busy festive period due to having five kids. Sitting alongside co-presenter Richard Madeley, 57-year-old Kate turned to the musician and said: “Listen, you’ve got a heck of a busy Christmas, now a father of five.”

As she went to continue her comment, Pete interrupted to correct her while raising his eyebrows. He said: “Technically six, but go on. Yeah, I’ve changed a lot of nappies in my time. Carry on, carry on.”

Peter shares three children with current wife Emily; eight-month-old Arabella, Millie, 10, and Theo, eight. He also has kids Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with ex-wife Katie Price. The Insania singer also stepped up to become an active, loving stepfather to Katie’s eldest son, Harvey Price, 22, and openly discussed plans to legally adopt him prior to his and Katie’s split.

In an interview with OK! magazine, recently, Peter discussed the potential of having more kids. “I’ve changed six sets of nappies in my adult life, I’m done.” he confessed.

He also revealed his kids have a close relationship with each other. “They’re all very close, but Bista [Princess] is super close with Millie and really helpful with the baby, while Junior has a lovely connection with Theo”, he said. “Ems and I aren’t “party parents” – we love being at home, cooking and hanging out with the kids. I’m more driven than ever with work, but I feel parent guilt like never before. Then I think, I’m doing this for their future as well, and I feel better again!

Regarding his previous close bond with Harvey, an unearthed clip shows the singer upset while discussing the adoption plans. He became emotional after being shown footage in 2010 of Harvey’s estranged dad Dwight Yorke slamming his plans to legally become a father to his son.

In the clip Dwight said: “I understand that he has to play a role, because that comes as part of the baggage when you get involved with Kate. But for him to say he was going to adopt my kid – and now look what’s happened four years down the road [Pete and Katie split]. Is he prepared to adopt Harvey at this stage? I don’t think so. The onus falls back on the father, which is me in the first place, so that’s why it should not have been mentioned.”

But in response Pete hit back to Kay Burley on Sky News: “No disrespect, but has he seen Harvey since this interview? The bottom line is this. I love that child alright, and I don’t care what anybody says, I love that child. I see that child.

“To me, a nice little thank you would be nice instead of telling me. I asked to adopt him because I love him. I didn’t ask to adopt him to be disrespectful. It angers me when people turn around and I get a comment like that.”

Strictly winner Chris McCausland fails to turn up to live radio interview

Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland failed to turn up to a live radio interview due to heavy traffic a day after opening up about his exhaustion following the dance show coming to an end

Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland has missed his appearance on Capital Breakfast.

The 47-year-old comedian, who picked up the Glitterball Trophy with dance partner Dianne Buswell over the weekend, was due to join the show with fellow funnyman Lee Mack but missed the interview after getting stuck in traffic.

After waiting for some time, radio hosts Jordan North and Sian Welby revealed he wouldn’t be joining them for the interview. Lee quickly joked: “It is possible his strictly win has gone to his head and he feels he can do what he likes.” Later in the interview, Lee said he was delighted when Chris was announced as the winner of the 2024 dance competition.

He revealed: “I got very little time to talk to him on Saturday because everyone was hugging him and I haven’t spoke to him since! [It’s] Incredible. I was looking at the old texts this morning because he [Chris] was texting me at the time asking if he should do it. I’ve realised the preconceptions about his disability, especially him being blind, but the more time I have spent with him, there have genuinely been times where I have forgotten he is blind.”

Host Jordan North announce Chris would be missing the interview

Chris previously appeared on Lorraine to chat about the win with stand in presenter Ranvir Singh. Speaking about the mental and physical toll the months of training had on his body, he said: “It’s been a really emotional Saturday night and I’m still feeling quite worn down by it. It’s been three and a half months; it’s relentless. It’s consuming – physically and mentally it takes a toll.

“This is what the show does, it wears you down physically and mentally and then it pokes you with a stick until you cry in front of everybody.” Chris also discussed missing the live tour but joked no one thought he would be on the show for so long.

“I started my tour in January this year and I did the first leg until May and I was meant to be back out in September. We moved the dates to accommodate Strictly, so we just moved them to January,” he said.

“We had to move these dates to accommodate Strictly and it just wasn’t a consideration at the time… I don’t think anybody thought I would be any good at it. I don’t think they thought it, I don’t think I thought it. And in terms of going on tour in January, I didn’t think I’d be going on tour on the back of Strictly. I thought I’d have about two months off.”

Martyn Crofts missing: Cops searching for Britain’s Got Talent comedian find body in reservoir

There has been a tragic update in the hunt for missing Britain’s Got Talent favourite Martyn Crofts after police confirmed they have discovered a body

Police searching for missing Britain’s Got Talent star Martyn Crofts have made a tragic discovery.

They have confirmed a body has been found in a reservoir as they continued their search for the comic, who has been missing since Monday.

Martyn had impressed judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon on the hit ITV reality contest in 2012 after becoming known as ‘The Pan Man’. He made it through to the semi-final as he sang a song while impersonating a Dalek from Doctor Who.

The police statement said that a body had been found on the Whinny Gill reservoir in Skipton, North Yorkshire on December 16. The North Yorkshire Police said that while identification of the body is still ongoing, the family has been informed and are being supported.

The spokesperson added: “At this stage, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.” They also thanked everyone for their help in the search and those who provided information to assist the enquiries.

Fans of Martyn’s and BGT were quick to share messages of support and condolence following the news. One user who was a friend of Martyn’s posted a heartfelt tribute on Facebook. In it, they reminisced on their time together as entertainers.

The heartbreaking post read: “RIP… He loved Skipton And he did a great Dalek impression. You may know him as ‘The Pan Man’ from Britain’s Got Talent, but Martyn Crofts was our friend.

“Sadly, he was found in Skipton reservoir today, after going missing yesterday. He will be a miss. Rest in peace my friend.”

Another user wrote: “Martyn Crofts where do I begin, you were a light in everyone’s life! You were the soul and party in Fleece!! From a local lad working at SBS to being ‘Pan man’ and getting all the way to the semi-finals!!

“If someone were to ask me how I would describe you, the phrase ‘You light up the room with your smile. And illuminate the world with your heart’ comes to mind, a lot of people know you from being on BGT, but to me and everyone else in Skipton you’ll always be Martyn Crofts, rest easy up there mate!!”

Martyn had described himself as ‘the only professional dalek impersonator on this planet when he auditioned for BGT. At the time of his audition he was a mortgage underwriter.

While Alesha and Amanda loved his act, Simon Cowell labelled it “arguably the most stupid act I’ve ever seen on this show”.

Despite the negative remarks by Simon, Martyn’s act saw him in demand. He also won Search for a Star and had recently been singing at residential homes, DJ’ing at clubs and pubs and hosting karaoke contests across the UK.
