Elizabeth Hurley confirms shock romance with Billy Ray Cyrus and son’s surprise response

Elizabeth Hurley seemingly confirmed her new relationship as she shared a snap of her kissing a huge country singer – and he appears to have got her son’s seal of approval

Elizabeth Hurley got tongues wagging with her latest snap as she teased a budding new romance with Billy Ray Cyrus. The actress, 59, might be hoping she doesn’t end up with an achy breaky heart at the end of everything after sharing a kiss with a music legend.

Taking to Instagram, Liz is seen beaming as Billy Ray Cyrus, 63, pecked her on the cheek. The duo were leaning up against a wooden fence for for the snap. Liz looked in her element as she posed in a chequered blue flannel shirt that was lowly buttoned. She paired the top with faded blue jeans and a straw cowboy hat.

Billy Ray was seen holding a large stick as he rested with one foot on the fence. He wore a denim shirt and striped pants, while accessorising with a headband showing off green bunny ears.

Liz simply captioned her post: “Happy Easter,” alongside a red love heart emoji. The post was met with huge surprise from her followers.

Among those taking to the comments section was fellow actress Melissa Gilbert, who wrote: “Wait…what? Hallie Rose added: “The couple we didn’t know we needed,” while Ann Curoso said: “Awe! Billy Ray Bunny! Happy Easter!” Her best pal Trinny Woodall also wrote: “Happy Easter, my darling. I hope you’re having the best time,” alongside an emoji blowing a love heart kiss.

The apparent relationship also seemed to get Liz’s son’s seal of approval. Damian Hurley simply sent two emojis to his mum; one party face emoji and one love heart. Damian is Liz’s only child from her brief relationship with Steve Bing, who she met shortly after her split with Hugh Grant in 2000.

The American businessman and film producer initially denied paternity of his son and they didn’t have much of a relationship, with reports even suggesting they never met. However, Damian and mum Liz continue to have a strong bond.

The link up comes almost a year after Billy Ray’s split from ex-wife Firerose. Billy Ray and Aussie musician Firerose, 25 – real name Joanna Rosie Hodges – got engaged in August 2022, before tying the knot in October 2023. However, there was quickly trouble in paradise and just months later, in May 2024, he filed for a divorce. The process was finalised in August last year.

As well as his relationship woes, Billy Ray has been having family troubles. In February, he is thought to have extended an olive branch to daughter Miley Cyrus amid the drama between the family. It’s thought that Miley has been estranged from Billy Ray for some time, while his son Trace Cyrus recently said he “barely recognises” his father following his support of Donald Trump.

After President Trump’s inauguration, which saw the country singer perform, Trace wrote on social media: “Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you. […] Me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away.

“Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life and you haven’t even been there for her. That’s your baby girl. She deserves better. Somehow just like me she still idolizes you though.”

Miley has also been open about her relationship with her dad. She explained: “He has a relationship and a foot on the ground to like the real and to nature and he always did, even when he was super famous. I’m grateful for being able to watch him ahead of me. He’s almost like given me this map. And there’s a map of what to do and what not to do, and he’s guided me on both.”

Jim Davidson has made a new admission about the depths of his drug addiction. The comedian has been open about his past with drugs and in a new interview, he explained more about the depths of his addiction.

The comedian will be best known for his work presenting the likes of Big Break and The Generation Game, whilst he also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014, which he went on to win.

Speaking to The Telegraph in a new interview, he said: “That didn’t really agree with me. Colombia could not produce enough. Come on, lads, work on weekends, Jim needs his nose full.”

Jim said the drugs made him “feel like Superman” and said they were “all that mattered” in his life.

“At one showbiz party I was sat at a table with my nose bleeding, looking like I was about to keel over and die, and I remember wondering why Miss World, who was a guest at the do, didn’t want to talk to me,” he said.

“I couldn’t take enough. Drugs made me feel like Superman. Life was just one long, long party. I’d end up staying up for days on end, hanging out with people I didn’t even know. All that mattered was the drugs. When I sniffed a line it gave me a huge buzz and a rush of euphoria. But as soon as that started wearing off I wanted more.”

Jim had also admitted in the past that he would even help to supply drugs for his friends.

He said: “I used to take tonnes of drugs. My mates used to send me down to Erith to pick up all the pills and things and come back to Woolwich. I didn’t go far, it’s not like I went to Peru or somewhere, but I was the bloke from the pub that used to go and get them all.”

During an appearance on Life Stories with then-host Piers Morgan, Jim admitted he didn’t know how to “put the brakes on” with his addiction and pushed his family aside as a result of his addiction.

“It became a bit of a mess really. I had to put the brakes on…I did not know how to. I used to go to the pub at lunchtime as I was bored. I was earning £250,000 a week and I was able to push some things aside – and that included family,” he said.

“Sometimes I took 250 pills in a weekend, amphetamines, when I was young. It was awful. That is why I stopped doing it. It made me feel awful and then I moved on to to all that Charlie.”

Strictly’s Kai Widdrington announces ‘new partner’ in career announcement

Kai Widdrington has had a busy week, having taken to the Strictly dance floor during Saturday’s final before immediately moving on to his next role upon the conclusion of the series.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Kai Widdrington has been seen teaming up with a new partner following his stint on everyone’s favourite dance competition this year.

The pro dancer made waves during the grand finale of the BBC One dance competition this past weekend, where he dazzled audiences as part of the 2024 cast with one final exuberant performance.

He also joined forces with singer-songwriter Raye for a special performance of Oscar Winning Tears.

But as soon as the final wrapped up, Kai was quick to dive into his new role, having previously revealed his plans to join the pantomime scene this holiday season.

He’s all set to embody Captain Hook at Liverpool’s The Auditorium at the M&S Bank Arena, sharing the stage with ex-Corrie star Kimberly Hart-Simpson, who will be sprinkling her magic as Tinkerbell in their rendition of Peter Pan.

Earlier on, Kai excited fans by posting the event’s poster on Instagram, which starts on Tuesday (December 17).

In the post, he flaunts an impressive moustache and invites followers with the caption: “It’s panto season! Come see me us at the M&S arena Liverpool for Panto this Christmas – fun for the whole family – oh yes it is! ”

As he got back into rehearsal mode ahead of the opening night this week, Kai shared a snap of his script inside the auditorium, calling it: “My new office for the rest of 2024.”

He also re-posted a picture with Kimberly, who played Nicky Wheatley on ITV’s Corrie, originally captioned by her: “@kaiwidd Panto week,” to which he responded: “Here we go! ! “, as reported by Manchester Evening News.

Kai recently hit the headlines as he broke a world record on the Strictly 2024 Pro Challenge, showcased on the spin-off show It Takes Two.

The yearly competition sees the Strictly professionals trying to perform as many repetitions of a specific dance step in 30 seconds, with the winner setting a new record.

This year’s challenge had the talented dancers performing a Time Step from the cha-cha-cha, under the watchful gaze of judge Craig Revel Horwood and adjudicator Will Munford, who were in charge of counting and verifying each attempt.

The final results were revealed by host Janette Manrara, who invited Kai and fellow Strictly pro Neil Jones into the studio.

They were given the task of beating the previous record of 14 steps, set by Nadiya Bychkova.

After their attempts were shown, it was disclosed that both male pros had achieved 15 Time Steps in 30 seconds. However, one of them had a disqualification, leaving a clear winner for this year’s record.

Janette then declared that Kai had clinched the top spot on the leaderboard after one of Neil’s steps was disqualified, pushing him down to second place for the third consecutive year. “It feels good. I might retire early because I feel it doesn’t get much better than that,” an ecstatic Kai said after his win.

“I’m gutted [for all my fellow professionals]. I feel so bad, but I’m very happy. Thank you Mum and Dad, all my family. Thank you for everything.”

  • Gavin and Stacey’s James Corden and Ruth Jones reveal sitcom will be back after finale

Gavin and Stacey’s James Corden and Ruth Jones reveal sitcom will be back after finale

James Corden and Ruth Jones created Gavin and Stacey, and while the Christmas special has been presented as a final goodbye to the BBC show the duo revealed they have even more in store

Gavin and Stacey will return on Christmas Day, four years after the series came to a close in 2019.

Many of the BBC cast and crew have suggested that the festive special is a one-off, and that fans shouldn’t hold hope of a proper renewal. While the news is bittersweet, show creators Ruth Jones, 58, and James Corden, 46, have shared that they do have something more up their sleeves before leaving Gavin and Stacey in the past for good.

The talented comedians have joined together to write a novel, ‘When Gavin Met Stacey and Everything in Between: A Story Of Love And Friendship,’ which will be released in autumn 2025. The book will reveal how Ruth and James turned their sitcom idea into such a beloved show, and will also feature never-before-heard gossip and secret insights from behind the scenes.

“We’re so excited to be sharing the story behind the story of Gavin and Stacey,” the duo announced, according to OK! They added: “The show has played a huge part in our twenty-five-year friendship and we hope this book will give readers a fresh insight into how it all came about.”

The Gavin and Stacey co-creators have written a book together revealing all of the secrets behind the show, and it’s set to be released next year

This week, actor Adrian Scarborough – who plays Pete on the show – seemed to pretty much confirm that the Christmas special will be the final episode of Gavin and Stacey. Speaking about the odds of a return on the Off the Telly podcast, he spilled: “I like what they put at the end of the script – ‘The End, forever and ever. Amen.’ Also, I think it’s really, really brave to finish things because often I just think things go on a little bit too long.”

He added: “And I think with this, the best thing they could have done was just go, ‘We’ve got an ending.’ Endings are good, moving on and moving onto new projects, which hopefully we’ll all be in.”

While Adrian’s firm words may have made the end of Gavin and Stacey seem absolute, fellow actor Larry Lamb – who plays Mick Shipman – revealed that there would still be plenty of surprises on Christmas Day. He divulged: “For all the people who have been watching religiously since the show started, you’ve got a trip coming up, I’ll tell you that!

“Everybody is going to get flipped and flipped again because it’s so, so clever, what Ruth and James have done. Having spent a year keeping it all a secret, my big buzz will be watching my family watch it and seeing their reactions.”

Larry hinted that there’ll be some things in store that we could never expect – but the BBC has made some elements of the plot clear. The broadcaster revealed that the upcoming episode will pick up five years on from the last Christmas special, which ended on a cliffhanger and left viewers reeling as Nessa (played by Ruth) proposed to Smithy (played by James).

The BBC teased: “It’s five years since we left Nessa down on one knee declaring her love for Smithy and asking him to marry her. And a lot has happened in those five years.”

The 2025 Celebrity Big Brother housemates are set for a major shock this week after host Will Best announced that they’ll face a triple eviction in a major show first

Celebrity Big Brother host Will Best has revealed that three contestants will be leaving the ITV show for the first time in the show’s history in tomorrow’s live eviction. Will announced during Sunday night’s episode of Late and Live that the remaining housemates will be making their nominations face-to-face in tonight’s episode.

However, in a new eviction twist, three housemates will be booted from the show following the public vote. This will leave just six celebrities in the house in the final week of the competition. It also marks the last time that the housemates will be nominating one another this series.

Fans took to social media to give their thoughts on the latest twist, with one writing: “A triple eviction? Oh that’s gonna be awful.”

Meanwhile, another was sure that there would be more drama to come – with a back door eviction on its way. “What do you think that easter twist is I’m thinking it’s got something to do with a back door eviction but if that’s the case four people are going early this week,” they said.

Earlier this week, fans speculated that Ella Rae Wise could be the victim of a back door eviction. One wrote on X: “what do you think that easter twist is I’m thinking it’s got something to do with a back door eviction but if that’s the case four people are going early this week.

“Ella’s jealous of JoJo and Chris’s relationship. I heard there’s going to be a backdoor eviction soon, seems a bit coincidental to me,” another said.

It comes after the last dramatic eviction, which saw retired athlete Daley Thompson leave the house with a few brutal parting words for his fellow housemates.

When asked whether he was surprised about who nominated him, Daley said in his exit interview: “None of them surprised me because they’re all rats.”

He added that his housemates “saw him as a threat”, before continuing: “I was chatting to everybody, offering people advice if they wanted it and I was generally trying to be friendly with everyone…Jealously always rears its ugly head.”

Last night, viewers were convinced that they had worked out Ella’s game plan after her bitter clash with Chris Hughes. Many speculated that she entered the house with a plan to start a romance with Chris.

One fan wrote on X: “Ella is projecting, she’s the one that came in with a game plan and that was to get with Chris #CBBUK #cbb.”

  • BBC flooded with complaints after Gregg Wallace MasterChef decision

BBC flooded with complaints after Gregg Wallace MasterChef decision

Gregg Wallace stepped back from his role on MasterChef following allegations of misconduct

The BBC received several complaints after they confirmed it would air the final of MasterChef: The Professionals, despite growing calls to pull the broadcast following the Gregg Wallace scandal.

The broadcaster decided to air the rest of MasterChef, which concluded on December 12, and the two Christmas editions, while they await the conclusion of the investigation into Wallace by production company Banijay.

He is facing claims from at least 13 women who have accused him of inappropriate behaviour and making jokes of a sexual nature. Wallace has denied the allegations.

The BBC came under mounting pressure to consider pausing the show while Wallace is investigated and the broadcaster has since responsded to the complaints about airing MasterChef: The Professionals while allegations of historical misconduct are being investigated.

In a statement released on December 18, a BBC spokesperson said: “MasterChef: The Professionals continued as planned, as this show is life-changing for the chefs.

“We take any issues that are raised with us seriously and we have robust processes in place to deal with them. We are always clear that any behaviour which falls below the standards expected by the BBC will not be tolerated.”

Earlier this month, it was believed that two festive specials of MasterChef would air on the BBC.

However, in a change of position, bosses revealed that the Christmas specials will now no longer be aired.

It comes after Wallace apologised for suggesting allegations against him came from “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age”.

    Smiley Charity Film Awards 2024

The TV host had said there had been “13 complaints” from “over 4,000 contestants” he had worked with in 20 years on the BBC cookery show.

His comments caused a backlash, with a Downing Street spokesperson describing them as “inappropriate and misogynistic”.

In another video Wallace said: “I want to apologise for any offence that I caused with my post yesterday, and any upset I may have caused to a lot of people.

“I wasn’t in a good head space when I posted it. I’ve been under a huge amount of stress, a lot of emotion, I felt very alone, under siege, yesterday, when I posted it.”

He concluded: “It’s obvious to me I need to take some time out while this investigation is under way. I hope you understand and I do hope that you will accept this apology.”

  • Penny Lancaster says ‘I’m so blessed’ as she sends Rod Stewart message on 80th birthday

Penny Lancaster says ‘I’m so blessed’ as she sends Rod Stewart message on 80th birthday

Loose Women star Penny Lancaster has sent touching birthday wishes to her husband Sir Rod Stewart as the rock icon marks his 80th birthday, saying she is ‘so blessed’ to have him

Rock and roll icon, Sir Rod Stewart, is celebrating his 80th birthday, and his wife Penny Lancaster, 53, has sent a seriously sweet message to him on social media marking the new decade he’s entering. ” Happy birthday my darling,” Penny wrote. “So blessed to be sharing this day together with all our kids. Building more memories to carry with us into the future and to be held close to our hearts forever, I love you xx.”

The loving message accompanied a sweet photo of Rod wearing a straw hat and looking pretty sunkissed whilst he smiled gently at the camera. The couple is reported to be celebrating the musician’s landmark birthday in the Caribbean, and the festivities to celebrate the massive milestone will span across “several weeks,” Penny has previously said.

Penny and Rod have been married for nearly 17 years after tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in Portofino, Italy, back in 2007, and have been together for 25 overall. They share two children: Alastair, 19, and Aiden, 13. The couple first met in 1999, when Penny was working as a photographer and asked to take some snaps of Rod during one of his tours, when the musician was separated from his second wife Rachel Hunter.

Rod also has six other children from previous relationships – and they could well be joining the fun in the sun as the family celebrates Rod’s birthday. The music icon’s children span a large range of ages, with his eldest 61 years old, and his youngest only 13.

Sarah, 61, is the child of Rod and Susanna Boffey, and he also shares Kimberley, 45, and Sean, 44 with his first wife Alana Stewart – who he was married to from 1979 to 1984. Rod then had Ruby, 37, with ex-girlfriend, Kelly Emberg, before marrying Rachel Hunter, with whom he had Renee, 32, and Liam, 30.

Rod also boasts three grandkids: Delilah, 13, and Otis and Louie, who are both 19 months – so any time the entire family gets together is bound to be a seriously lively and busy occasion.

Sir Rod is due to headline Glastonbury Festival next summer, and shows no sign of retirement being on the horizon, despite reaching his eighties. “I have no desire to retire,” Rod posted on Instagram last November, adding: “I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the age of 79.”

Penny has confirmed that her husband shows zero signs of taking his foot off the gas any time soon, “He’s a workaholic and constantly on the move,” Penny has admitted. “I struggle to keep up with his training schedule. He works out three or four times a week — even on tour.”

    penny lancaster and Rod stewart
Penny and Rod’s love story is one for the ages
Rod’s made it clear that his lust for life hasn’t diminished one bit as he has got older, despite being diagnosed with prostate cancer back in 2016 – he got the all-clear in 2019. The musician told The Sun last year : “I’m aware my days are numbered but I’ve got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket. I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say few — probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy.”

Despite a brief two-week break-up some time ago, Penny and Rod’s love story is still going strong, with Rod previously saying, about the couple renewing their wedding vows: “Penny is my whole world. What a girl.

“Love means many things to many people but to me, it’s wanting to share everything with the one you love and I love Penny more now than ever, if that is at all possible. It was a beautifully romantic thing to do. We’re not proving anything, just sharing our love with our friends and family.”

Strictly’s Pete Wicks makes brutal four-word admission about appearing on BBC show

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks appeared on Channel 4’s hit show Sunday Brunch alongside hosts Tim Love Joy and Simon Rimmer.

Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks made a brutal admission about his time on the BBC talent show. The former star of The Only Way is Essex, 37, appeared on the latest series alongside professional dance partner Jowita Przystal.

At the time, he managed to impress the judges and viewers watching at home as he made it all the way to the semi-final.

However it is clear that the reality star has no plans of stepping back onto the dance floor anytime soon. Pete appeared on Channel 4’s popular show Sunday Brunch today (January 12), alongside host Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, as well as other celebrity guests.

Tim wasted no time quizzing Pete on his latest stint, as he asked: “Pete, how did you enjoy Strictly?” Pete didn’t hesitate, as he admitted: “I’m glad it’s over.”

Everyone chuckled, as Tim went on to say: “No but you were good though. You were good.” Pete didn’t agree, as he replied: “No, I was useless.”

Tim jumped in: “No you weren’t, you made it far.” Pete replied: “I made it far, but I was useless.” Turning his attention to guest Layton Williams, who appeared on Strictly in 2023 alongside pro partner Nikita Kuzmin, Pete continued: “I mean Layton obviously did Strictly and he was amazing. He was unbelievable, but I was rubbish.”

Talk soon turned to Simon’s time on the show, as Tim pointed out: “When Simon did it he was exhausted.” Simon, who appeared on Strictly back in 2017, explained: “Yes, I was exhausted because I was still doing this show. You know what it’s like, you finish late on a Sunday night then I’d be here at 6 in the morning but it’s such a good experience.”

Layton jumped in: “I loved it. I do think it’s hard when people have their other stuff going on and I felt really lucky that I could literally just concentrate on just getting the steps.”

Pete said: “You didn’t really need to concentrate because you are just gifted.” Layton was flattered by the remark, as he added: “Oh stop it. You’re making me blush. You’re to hard on yourself (Pete), you did your thing.”

The Chase star struggled to film ITV show as he opens up on heartbreaking death

Darragh Ennis, also known as The Menace on ITV quiz show The Chase, appeared on Loose Women on Wednesday (January 22), where he opened up about losing his dad to dementia

The Chase star Darragh Ennis has revealed he struggled to film the ITV gameshow after his dad died from dementia.

Darragh, who is also known as The Menace, appeared on Loose Women on Wednesday (January 22) to discuss his father’s battle with the neurological disease.

After losing his dad in July 2024, Darragh shared that was “playing to a script” while going about his daily life, especially when he returned to The Chase.

“In the end it was quite sudden. He had been physically quite well but then I got a phone call, and I barely made it home in time,” he said, adding that he was left “broken” inside.

“We had a natural break in filming, but when I did go back to work, I was put under that stressful situation,” Darragh continued.

He revealed that he struggled to answer questions under time restraint, saying: “Normally when I start making mistakes, I’d naturally be able to handle it.

“I’d just plant my feet and keep going, but this time when I went to put my feet down, there was nothing underneath them. They just fell away.”

Darragh also shared that he got “camera shy” as the pressure completely “overwhelmed” him.

“I had a couple of episodes like that, where every time I tried to reach for that part of myself that’s normally very calm under pressure, it wasn’t there anymore,” he continued.

Darragh explained that the producers quickly clocked onto his struggles and offered him extra time off. They’ve also arranged for counselling

When he was first offered help, Darragh initially “shrugged it away” as he didn’t want to admit that he was struggling. Once he accepted the support, he acknowledged that it felt like he was being saved from “drowning”.

In light of his experiences, Darragh has since become an Ambassador for grief charity At a Loss.

Mark Labbett’s love life – The Chase Beast’s marriage to cousin and brutal split

The Chase star Matt Labbett – best known as The Beast – has opened up about his split from Hayley Palmer, who was 17 years his junior

Mark Labbett claims his last relationship ended because of his age – and doesn’t think he’ll be finding love again any time soon.

In May this year, the Chase quizmaster, known as The Beast on the hit ITV daytime show, called things off with TV presenter Hayley Palmer just days before after their one-year anniversary. Opening up about their split, Mark revealed he thought he was too old to continue dating.

“She’s [Hayley’s] a lovely lady and I was very lucky to date her for a year, and as I said…it’s me, I got old,” he told the Sun. “There’s been no one since Hayley, I’m not saying there won’t be another one. But I’m certainly not looking.”

Mark joked he’s a “shed man” and enjoys his own company, but isn’t fussed about being in a relationship. “It’s not that I miss anyone in particular, I was single not coincidentally for a long long time when I was a 29-stone maths teacher, who knew it was quite hard to attract a partner then. So I’m quite comfortable without a partner,” he said.

Mark, at 59, was 17 years older than the Sky TV presenter when he broke up with her, and they’d previously discussed their large age gap. But Hayley was still heartbroken when they split earlier this year, saying: “We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future.”

Prior to Hayley, Mark was married to his own cousin, Katie, who was also 17 years his junior. The pair had never met growing up so weren’t aware they were second cousins when they met on Facebook in 2010. “It wasn’t something we were aware of at the time – it was one of those things that happened,” Mark previously told the Loose Women panel.

Two years after their Facebook connection, Mark invited Katie to a celebrity special filming of The Chase, and the pair hit it off from there.

Katie also didn’t know Mark was a TV star before they got together. “I had never heard of Mark, or watched The Chase, but my gran mentioned him so I was intrigued,” she previously said. The couple wed at Arundel Cathedral in West Sussex in 2014 and went on to welcome son Lawrence.

But their marriage hit the rocks in 2018 and they opened their relationship up to other parties, with Katie finding extramarital fun with senior design engineer Scott. Just 18 months later, in 2020, the pair split and Mark moved out of the family home.

Now the newly single quizmaster says he has no plans to couple up again, insisting he’s “content” with his relationship status. “I’m 59 now, I’ve reached the sort of slippers and comfy chair kind of thing. Right now I’m in my PJs and pottering around the place,” he told the Sun.

“I’m settled down a little bit. I am an old man, I might not look it but I am. I’m quite content doing my own thing.”
