Royal fans shared their concerns for Prince George on social media yesterday as he appeared at Wimbledon with Prince William, Princess Kate, and Princess Charlotte.
The Waleses enjoyed a day out at SW19 on Sunday (July 13) watching the Men’s Singles Final from the Royal Box. Princess Kate, 43, wowed in a blue A-line midi dress, as well as a large sun hat. Prince William, meanwhile, looked dapper in a double-breasted blazer and white chinos.
But while Princess Charlotte, 10, looked to be making the most of the sunny weather in a summery dress, some social media users were concerned about how Prince George was attired.

Royal Box clothing rules
Temperatures were on the rise on and off the court for the Wimbledon final, as Jannik Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz amid the blazing conditions.
Princess Kate and her daughter were seen trying to keep cool in the hot sun with the use of fans. And both Prince William, 43, and his son also donned sunglasses to cope with the intense rays.

But even though Prince George, 11, looked smart in his dark navy suit, there were suggestions from some quarters he looked “ridiculous” in being dressed so formally.
However, despite protests, what he was wearing was in keeping with the rules regarding how those sitting in the Royal Box should conduct themselves.
And chief among them is the expectation everyone – even younger fans such as Prince George – must adhere to the dress code of “smart, suits/jacket and tie, etc”.

Fans react to Prince George at Wimbledon
Plenty of observers took to X to express their bafflement at Prince George being “trussed up” in a suit when it was sweltering.
“They should have let Prince George dress much more casually today,” posted one concerned onlooker. They went on: “It’s boiling hot here and they’ve got him trussed up like he’s attending a state affair! Free Prince George from that suit!”
Another person agreed: “Poor Prince George stuffed into that awful suit. It would be so refreshing to see him wearing something more relatable and fun.”
Someone else put it: “Prince George getting roasted alive in his suit and tie #Wimbledon.”
Other users also mentioned how a suit may not be particularly “age-appropriate” for an 11-year-old.
“Would have loved to have seen Prince George in something that looks slightly cooler and a tad younger though, he could still look so smart without a suit with a shirt and tie at his age!” suggested one such user.
“Prince George, a little boy, trussed up in a suit and tie on a hot day. FGS, let him be a child, shorts and T-shirt #Wimbledon,” complained another.
“Making Prince George wear a suit and tie in 30c heat is ridiculous,” typed another incredulous observer.
Get a grip William and Kate.
And someone else fumed: “I’m not anti-royal but making Prince George wear a suit, shirt, and tie in 30-degree heat is a disgrace.”

‘Must have been so hot’
Others offering their views online felt Prince George was worse off than his sister for the match.
“Prince William and Prince George look great, but I think George is hot in the suit and tie as he looks over at his sister in the sleeveless dress with her fan,” one person wrote.
Another noted: “Prince George also used a fan and must have been so hot in that suit, poor boy.”
Meanwhile, another X conversation included the claim Prince George was turned out even more formally than his dad.
“Prince William’s outfit was much more in keeping with a sporting event on a very hot day than Prince George’s dark suit,” one typed.
To which someone else reacted: “Agree. They should have given him a different shade of trousers maybe. But he looked more formal than his father.”
However, amid the criticism, Prince George’s appearance did spark praise.
“Prince George looks really sharp in is suit, tie and sunnies. Like father, like son,” one fan contributed.
And another judged him: “Stylish. Prince George with his wavy hair, suit and sunglasses.”
Someone else gushed: “Prince George looking very smart at Wimbledon.”
