One Twitter user captioned the image: “Charming King Charles kisses his niece Princess Eugenie’s hand and also her mother’s.”

Fans were quick to react, with many calling the scene “sweet” and praising the sense of unity among the royals.

One commenter wrote: “So good to see the family all together around the king.”

“Look at these wonderful pics,” another gushed. “They’re FAMILY and they get along no matter what anyone says.”

“Love these pictures of King Charles with his nieces Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall,” a third fan added.

The affectionate moment came as members of the royal family gathered once again at the Berkshire racecourse for the penultimate day of the world-famous meet.

The monarch appeared in great spirits as he welcomed Eugenie and the Duchess of York, 64, to Ascot. Both women curtsied respectfully before Charles kissed their hands.

Another of the king’s nieces, Zara Tindall, was also present and shared a warm hug with Eugenie as they reunited.

Why did Kate withdraw from Ascot?

Kate, Princess of Wales was notably absent from Royal Ascot this week, despite originally being listed in Wednesday’s carriage procession alongside Prince William.

Palace aides quickly clarified that an “administrative error” had mistakenly included Kate’s name. It was revealed that she would not be attending as she continues to pace her return to royal duties.

Kate, 43, who is in remission following her cancer treatment, has made selective public appearances in recent weeks, including Trooping the Colour and Order of the Garter.

Meanwhile, Prince William joined King Charles and Queen Camilla at Ascot earlier in the week.

The Prince of Wales was seen enjoying the races and sipping a pint under the summer sun on Wednesday.
