Prince William’s special moment with mother-in-law Carole Middleton at Royal Ascot!
The pair looked like they were having fun
Prince William made an appearance alongside Carole Middleton and the Royal Ascot yesterday (June 18) – and fans spotted a very sweet moment between the pair.
This week marks the 2025 Royal Ascot. Everyday some of our favourite royals are making appearances, and wowing us with their looks. But while everyone was excited to see Kate Middleton make her return after she missed it last year due to her cancer treatment, she unfortunately backed out last minute.
A statement was released revealing that Kate would ultimately not be in attendance this year. According to reports she was “disappointed” to miss it, but is still finding her work-life balance since finishing her cancer treatment.

However, there were still other Middleton’s in attendance yesterday. Keeping Prince William company was in fact Kate’s very own mother, Carole Middleton.
Carole, 70, wowed in a stunning butter yellow lace dress from ME+EM. And the £350 ensemble featured lace detailing, a hey-hole cut-out and a high neckline. She completed her look with a blush-toned wide-brimmed hat made by Jane Corbett. She previously wore the design to Royal Ascot way back in 2011.
While Kate had to miss out on the big day, her mother made sure Prince William was having a wonderful time. And royal fans were obsessed with the adorable bond showing between them.
Some moments that fans spotted included the pair sharing a hug, and then chatting and laughing together. And both times, it was only them involved in the conversation.
Sharing photos of Prince William and Carole Middleton hugging on X, one fan penned: “Carole Middleton has given Prince William a loving, stable relationship with a mother figure. She is incredible.”
Another fan posted photos that showed Carole gazing at William lovingly, with a huge smile at whatever he was saying. They captioned the photo: “Prince William and Carole Middleton at Royal Ascot” with a heart emoji.
A fan responded: “Aw, I love these pictures! The love and respect is clearly mutual between them. I love their bond so much.”
Another penned: “This is so wholesome.”
The family have all had quite a lot to deal with recently, with Kate’s cancer, so it’s no surprise that the family have bonded together.

King Charles and Carole also had a cute moment
But William wasn’t the only royal Carole spent time with, as she was also caught having a hush chat with King Charles.
The pair were smiling at each other, while Charles covered the side of his moth to whisper something to Carole. In another photo, she was smiling and pointed at him.
Taking to X, one fan gushed: “The Princess of Wales’ mother Carole Middleton with Prince William’s father King Charles. I love that they have a lovely warm relationship.”
Another fan joked: “They are likely trading Prince Louis mischief stories.”
And a third penned: “It really is lovely to see them together.”
