Stacey Solomon has taken to social media to celebrate that she has managed to wash her hair for the first time since giving birth to her daughter three weeks ago

Stacey Solomon has been left overjoyed as she explained she finally had time to herself and managed to wash her hair for the first time in three weeks.

The Loose Women star took to her Instagram to share an update with her followers after revealing that she hadn’t managed to wash her tresses since the arrival of her daughter Belle.

Stacey, 33, joked that she thanked her husband Joe Swash for being able to sleep alongside her “greasy” hair which she claimed could fry several eggs.

She said: “Finally done it, finally washed this mop, sweet, sweet smell of not grease.

“I feel emotional about it, honestly, I feel like I should make a speech it’s been that long.”

Joking about the situation, Stacey took a hairbrush and pretended it was a microphone as she said: “I want to thank my newborn baby for not crying long enough for me to shampoo and condition.

“I want to thank my husband for sleeping next to me night after night and not asking for a divorce.

Instagram)“The smell can’t have been easy to sleep with, I want to thank you lot for always sticking by me and never judging me no matter how many eggs you could fry on my head.

“It feels so good, happy clean hair day.”

Her momentous occasion comes after she revealed she was struggling to have her new daughter’s passport photographs taken, admitting it wasn’t “going well”.

Showing a clip of her trying to get the tot to cooperate on the photo booth machine, each image says it “may not be compliant” with the standards needed as Belle failed to sit straight-faced, but instead bawled at the camera.

Giggling over the top of the video, Stacey said: “Send help. I’m trying to get Belle’s passport pictures done and it’s not going well.

She captioned the upload: “I am actually full-on sweating in this booth. It’s IMPOSSIBLE. And we have her passport appointment tomorrow. Send help.”

Thankfully for the former X Factor contestant, her dad was on hand to save the day. Her next reel showed grandad Dave smiling at the youngster while holding a professional camera.

As he tried to settle Belle, who was lying on the bed, Stacey wrote: “Thank goodness for Dave. I rang my dad in the end. I didn’t want to take it at home because I thought it would be easier to do in the post office where they can check it. I was wrong.”
