Real reason Prince Harry won’t be welcomed back by King Charles any time soon

King Charles ’embracing’ Prince Harry after all the claims and allegations made against Queen Camilla and Prince William would upset the balance, a royal expert claims.

Prince Harry won’t be welcomed back by King Charles any time soon because doing so would upset Queen Camilla and Prince William, a royal expert has suggested. Robert Jobson told podcast Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered that if the King were to “forgive” his youngest son, then it would upset the balance with other royals, who have been the targets of claims and allegations from the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle.

The comments come after Harry travelled to London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, but did not cap his visit off by sitting down with his father.

While the Duke was at a special St Paul’s Cathedral ceremony on Wednesday (May 8), King Charles’ “full programme” meant the father and son were unable to reunite. The monarch was at a Buckingham Palace garden party on the same day.

Mr Jobson told podcast host Kinsey Schofield he wasn’t sure there was an official approach to the Palace by Harry’s people ahead of his visit to Britain, adding: “They may well spin that. I don’t think there was.

“There’s certainly been no snub here. Harry knew he was coming here. It was a big event. The King had a big event. The King wears two hats and one of them’s a crown. At the end of the day, he has to do his duty first.”

A spokesperson for the Duke said early last week that in response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not Harry will meet with Charles while in the UK it unfortunately would not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

They added: “The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

Mr Jobson said he felt a bit surprised there wasn’t enough time for the pair to meet, adding: “The last time [Harry] took it upon himself to come [after] the news of his father’s cancer, which was a very touching thing to do, he wasn’t invited.

“I think at the moment the King is just steadily rebuilding his health. He probably doesn’t need any emotional heart to heart with his son and Harry has always worn his heart on his sleeve.

“Also if you start doing that, what will William and Camilla think? Both have been deeply insulted and, frankly slandered, by Harry.”

Mr Jobson continued: “A lot of dark things have gone on. So if you start then to say, ‘Okay everything’s forgiven Harry’, that might upset the balance – the dynamic – with the other members of the family.

“I’m sure that the King is very wary of someone who’s been attacking the family. To then just be embraced, even though he loves him, would then upset everybody else perhaps.”

The royal expert said that had things turned out differently, then William would definitely have been at the St Paul’s Cathedral event and Harry would have attended the Buckingham Palace garden party. Mr Jobson concluded: “The rift still exists.”

In his best-selling memoir, Spare, Prince Harry recalls urging his father not to marry Camilla, but going on to wish his father well and saying there were no hard feelings.

Harry alleges in the book that Camilla’s “spin doctor” decided to burnish her reputation by throwing him “right under the bus”, planting stories in the press to generate sympathy for Charles and his relationship with Camilla.

In an interview with 60 Minutes to promote Spare, Harry described his stepmother as “dangerous” because of her connections with the media.

The Duke of Sussex has also accused his brother of grabbing him by the collar, ripping his necklace and knocking him to the ground in a row over Meghan.

Harry told ITV’s Tom Bradby he saw a “red mist” in William and claimed he felt as if his brother was “coming for” Meghan, during an interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes.
