Loose Women’s Penny Lancaster emotional as she admits ‘I am so proud’ in family admission

Penny Lancaster, who is married to Sir Rod Stewart, returned to the Loose Women panel on Thursday afternoon as she was reunited with her co-stars

Penny’s admission came after Kaye Adams mentioned her daughter’s graduation, leading them to chat about their children growing up.

Sunetra Sarker chimed in, admitting that she’s in denial about her own kids heading off to university this summer.

Kaye then directed the conversation towards Penny, asking: “You’re in the same boat though, aren’t you?”

Penny, 53, confirmed as she replied: “Alastair is waiting for his A Level results but he’s been given an offer at the fashion academy, the Jimmy Choo Academy in London.”

Penny, who shares Alastair and their younger son Aiden with rock legend Rod Stewart, delved into details about Alastair’s future studies, telling ITV viewers he’s set to embark on a three-year degree in fashion, design, entrepreneurship, and branding, reports the Express.

She fondly recalled: “Liam got married to Nicole, he made the most incredible, heartfelt speech, he performed it like- I was just so proud of him. I was like, ‘That’s a man’.”

The audience erupted in applause at Penny’s heartfelt words, while her fellow panellists looked on admiringly, clearly moved by Alastair’s coming-of-age moment.

Fans were over the moon to see Penny back on the ITV show, with one viewer saying: “Great to see Sunetra and Penny back after so long and always great having Kaye and Judi too. Can’t wait.”

Penny had been absent from the show since January, despite being a staple since 2014, leading fans to miss her presence.

Her sporadic appearances have not gone unnoticed by the audience, who have seen less of her over time.

A source revealed to Daily Mail regarding her frequent no-shows: “It is obvious that Penny is no longer a regular panellist. This is purely due to other professional and personal commitments.”

The insider added: “Penny loves the show and LW loves Penny. But such appearances as she is able to make in the future will be as a guest.”
