Loose Women’s Jane Moore horrified as daughter left fighting for life after boat capsized

Loose Women star Jane Moore has revealed her daughter was left in grave danger after her boat capsized leaving her requiring hospital treatment on her gap year

Jane Moore’s eldest daughter Ellie was left requiring hospital treatment after suffering from a near-fatal accident while on her gap year.

The Loose Women star shared her story on the ITV programme as she and her fellow panellists reflected on Vernon Kay partying in Ibiza with his daughter, 18.

Jane, 61, explained that Ellie had headed off to the tropical location of Fiji and was travelling around the islands in a boat when disaster struck.

“I got that call, at least it was her calling,” Jane explained before going on to say: “So I knew she was alive but I got that call, she went ‘Hi mum, what’s my medical insurance number?'”

Shocked by the question, Jane added: “‘And why would you need to know that anyway?!’, she’d got in a boat in Fiji to go from island to island.

“It had capsized, a tourist boat, she’d had to swim for her life, she got onto some uninhabited island but it was surrounded by coral and it’s very poisonous.

“So she ended up in the hospital, her whole all her legs were lacerated because she obviously had to get across it to to get on to dry land.”

Making light of the situation, panellist and former EastEnders star Nadia Sawalha joked: “You know she’s Jane Moore’s daughter, ‘she swam to an uninhabited island’.

“I don’t know what I’d have done but that shows that she’s brilliantly brought up, we underestimate them, you prepared her to look after herself.”

Jane added: “Everybody was fine, nobody died, everybody got to dry land.”

Earlier in the week, the Loose Women leapt to the defence of Brian Szasz, whose step-dad Hamish Harding died in the catastrophic implosion onboard the Titanic submarine Titan.

After Brian had been attending concerts, he came under fire on social media for his actions.

“There’s been a lot of talk about the stepson of Hamish Harding, he’s had a mixed response from the public,” said Charlene before adding: “He’s been posting tweets which he has now actually taken down regarding his step-father.

“He had been going to, a concert, he went to a concert, a Blink-182 concert, he had been tweeting about being at this concert but also asking people for their prayers and saying ‘this is the way I cope as I want to go and see my favourite band play.'”
