Frankie Bridge money woes as she reveals she ‘blew’ her pop star fortune

Frankie Bridge has opened up about the one thing she regrets from her pop stars days, when she was part of the memorable S Club Juniors pop group in the 00s

Frankie Bridge admits she’s burned through all her pop star money with “nothing left to show for it.”

The 35-year-old Loose Women star was in S Club Juniors back in 2001 when she was just 12 years old. Frankie later found success with The Saturdays when the popular girl group got together in 2007. Looking back on her time in the group, the mum-of-one shared that one of her biggest regrets is not having anything to show for the money she made back then. She revealed that her parents had been lenient with her spending because of how hard she had worked.

On Spencer Matthews’ Big Fish podcast, Frankie explained that she didn’t save any money at all during her early career. “It was tough in that I think, because parents were involved. We were so young and doing what we were doing, loving what we were doing,” she explained.

She added: “I don’t have anything to show for it anymore, I think that’s one of my biggest regrets.

“I think my parents always felt that they allowed me to work from such a young age that they were unable to tell me what to use my money for and what to spend it on. We didn’t have loads and loads.”

Despite the rumours that young stars don’t get paid, Frankie admits she did earn money by being a part of the band and even had her own bank account. “Yeah of course, I was in control of it to a certain extent. I remember I had my own bank card. I think I only just closed it down like last week.

After S Club Juniors, Frankie had the opportunity to be a solo artist for about a year, with Simon Fuller hoping to make her the new Rachel Stevens. But it had only left her feeling confused over her style and music direction.

She said: “I had an opportunity afterwards. I was signed on my own for about a year as a solo artist and he wanted me to be the new Rachel Stevens, because she was the thing at the time.

“I felt so lost, I didn’t know what clothes I was into, what music. I was more an Avril Lavigne, a bit more emo. And that was not the style he was going for.
