Eamonn Holmes left ‘baffled and angry’ by Ruth Langsford’s decision to go public with split

Eamonn Holmes was reportedly left ‘baffled’ as his wife Ruth Langsford took the decision to go public with the news that their marriage was over earlier this month

The split announcement of Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes reportedly caught the latter off guard, leaving him “angry and baffled”.

Long-time TV favourites Eamonn and Ruth, both 64, had been together for more than two decades, kindling their romance in the late 90s before saying their vows in 2010. However, a spokesperson confirmed earlier this month that they have ended their marriage and are currently going through a divorce.

A source claimed to Mail that Eamonn, a star on GB News was stunned with the revelation: “Eamonn was left blindsided, it was awful for him. He literally found out about it a very short time before it was published you’re talking hours. It all seems a little bizarre given that the statement said they were hoping to keep it amicable.”

According to the insider, Eamonn “wanted no part of it”, continuing: “He couldn’t see any reason why you would release that statement. It was wholly written and signed off by Ruth and her team.”

Eamonn and Ruth, who share son Jack together, once hosted ITV’s famous This Morning show together. Known as one of the most stable duos in the entertainment sphere, they often revealed snippets of their shared life during various screen appearances, with Ruth regularly bringing up Eamonn while on the Loose Women panel.

Fans were therefore taken aback when the couple confirmed they were ending their relationship after 14 years of wedded bliss. The news elicited messages of disbelief from many, expressing their utter disappointment and devastation.Earlier this week, Eamonn Holmes opened up about his separation from Ruth Langsford while on air at GB News. Taking a moment during the show, he expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support: “I would just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation and your support for both of us is very much appreciated,” he acknowledged.
