Ed Kelce, father of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, made sure to tread lightly when asked about the possibility of Taylor Swift wanting a prenup if she marries her son and delivered the perfect answer.

During Friday’s episode of Audacy‘s “92.3 The Fan” radio show in Cleveland, Ed swerved the pushy hosts, Baskin and Phelps, who did not let up with controversial questions about Swift.

“I think you get to a point. I don’t know that Taylor is out there trying to make money, trying to build this huge empire,” Ed explained after the prenup question. “I think she’s out there following her passion, doing what she knows and what she enjoys. People are just throwing money at her, you know what I mean.”

Ed Kelce didn’t know Taylor Swift

Ed also told the hilarious story of when he first met Swift and had no idea who she was, making for a perfect way to talk about his girlfriend.

“When Travis has a lot of friends coming into town to the game, everyone meets at his house, although he’s not there because he’s with the team,” he explained.”Taylor walks in with a security guy, and I look at her, and I say [to my girlfriend] ‘Oh my god, I know this kid, but I don’t know what her name is.'”

“Jeez, you know, like a real idiot. And [my girlfriend] says, ‘You don’t know her? This is Taylor Swift, you idiot.'”
