His jersey looked like something else entirely
Travis Kelce’s jersey reveal did not go as plannedAP
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has built a reputation for his unique style. When he was used to model the official jersey the Chiefs will wear in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers, he made the threads stand out, but not in the way the team intended.
Fans joke about Kelce’s “skirt”
Thanks to a long undershirt and the tight, bunched-up jersey, some fans seemed to think he was dressed more for a Taylor Swift concert than the Super Bowl.
“Is that a skirt? He really is a #Swiftie…” said one of the 250 comments that flooded the post from the Chiefs on Twitter/X.
“cute skirt he has on,” joked a comment with over 100 likes, followed by a punchline from another user. “Thought he was wearing a Sabrina carpenter fit.”
“They did him wrong by not cutting it,” a more merciful fan wrote.
“I thought he was wearing a tutu at first and didn’t think anything of it,” noted one comment on Instagram, referencing Travis’ unique dressing style off the field.
Chiefs unveil Super Bowl jerseys
Kansas City will wear its classic red strip, while the 49ers will rock white jerseys for the Big Game. It is the same color matchup from when the two teams met in February 2020 in the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs will continue to wear their “NKH” patch in memory of Norma Knobel Hunt, the matriarch of the Hunt family, a Chiefs minority owner and the mother of current Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt. It is joined by the custom Super Bowl LVIII logo for a time-stamped look that Kansas City fans hope to see immortalized in winning images for years to come.
