Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, etched his name into another page of NFL records on Sunday.
The 34-year-old became the player with most receptions in the playoffs (152) surpassing non other than 49ers legend, Jerry Rice.
Kelce, who is playing in his sixth AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens, has had a prolific postseason after a drop in performance in the last few games of the regular season.
So far, the tight end has scored three touchdowns that have helped take the Chiefs one step closer to the Super Bowl where they are looking to become back-to-back champions.
While there have been rumors about Kelce’s plans after this season, with some speculating that he plans to retire, the tight end is proving he is still at the top of his game.
In a clever nod to Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, the NFL’s shared an image on their social media accounts taking inspiration from Swift’s“Midnights” album cover to celebrate Kelce’s record.
At the time of Kelce’s record, the Chiefs enjoyed a 14-7 lead over the Ravens in the second quarter of the AFC Championship.
