Selena Gomez sends fans a sassy video as they accuse her of throwing shade at her ex

Selena Gomez sent fans into a spin with a sassy video on Tuesday as they claimed it was a message for her ex Justin Bieber.

In the video, the 31-year-old singer mimed along to an iconic scene in Sex And The City when Samantha (Kim Cattrall) answers a phone call from her married lover.

As the male voice was heard saying: ‘It’s over, I told my wife’, Selena mimed the response: ‘Who is this?’

While the clip was shared to promote the upcoming release of her new track, Single Soon, her fans were quick to claim it was a message for Justin and his wife Hailey Bieber.

They penned: ‘She’s hinting Justine and the wife’s divorce rumors’; ‘Did Justin call you recently?’; ‘I know Justin’s punching the wall and hailey is reading the comments on this post! HI HAILEY’; ‘ Is that what Justin said?’; ‘Sry bieber it’s too late [sic].’

Selena, who captioned the video: ‘Single Soon this Friday!’ looked sensational in a strapless orange top and oversized gold earrings.

She has been hard at work promoting her new single, which is the first time she’s released music since 2021’s Revelación.

Selena and Justin dated on and off for eight years, calling it quits for the final time in 2018.

Two months later Justin proposed to Hailey, who he first dated in 2015 for about a month.

Fans have long pitted the women against each other and they have been accused of subtly throwing shade at each other.

They were said to have reignited their ‘feud’ in March, when footage resurfaced of Hailey mocking Taylor Swift during the time she cohosted the show Drop The Mic.

Fueling the flames, Selena commented on the video: ‘So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.’

Subsequently, internet users started dubbing Hailey a ‘mean girl’ since she had also previously shared a TikTok video of herself with Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye lip-syncing to an audio saying: ‘I’m not saying she deserves it, but I’m saying God’s timing is always right.’

TikTok commenters took the now-deleted clip to correlate with the body shaming and hate Selena had been receiving as of late.

Selena appeared to address the drama as she took to TikTok to call on people to ‘be kind’ and insisted she ‘only wants good for everyone.’

Beneath a video of herself doing a makeup tutorial she penned: ‘Thank you and love you all so much. I’m deeply grateful for each and every one of you humans. You make me unbelievably happy.’

A second comment read: ‘Please, please be kinder and consider others mental health. My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love.’
