Prince Harry has been candid about his drug use, particularly in his younger years which he outlined in his best-selling memoir Spare.

But the Duke of Sussex didn’t mention one nickname that came from his time at Eton, which he attended from 1998 to 2003 to gain his A-Levels, where his initial foray into recreational drugs began.

In his 2020 book Brothers of Brothers, acclaimed royal historian Robert Lacey revealed that the Prince was “known as ‘Hash Harry’ at Eton, on account of the smoky aroma that often emanated from his room”.

While Harry engaged in taking marijuana during his school years, he admitted to taking class A drugs later on, particularly as he was dealing with poor mental health following the death of his mum, Princess Diana.

But Harry’s confessions might now land him in trouble as he is potentially facing legal repurcussions for his U.S visa as a think-tank has accused the American government of showing favouritism to high-profile celebrities.

Harry himself opened up about his drug use in his tell-all memoir, Spare, and spoke about his introduction to marijuana at Eton. “I don’t remember how we got the stuff. One of my mates, I expect,” he said.

“Or maybe several. Whenever we found ourselves in possession, we’d commandeer a tiny upstairs bathroom, wherein we’d implement a surprisingly thoughtful, orderly assembly line.

“Smoker straddled the loo beside the window, second boy leaned against the basin, third and fourth boys sat in the empty bath, legs dangling over, waiting their turns.”
